Kavanaugh Joins Liberals To Protect Pro-Planned Parenthood Ruling

Daily Caller  "The Supreme Court declined to review three cases relating to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood at the state level Monday, over a vigorous dissent from Justice Clarence Thomas.
"The dissent was significant because it indicates that Justice Brett Kavanaugh sided with the high court’s liberal wing to deny review of a lower court decision that favored the nation’s largest abortion provider.
“ 'So what explains the Court’s refusal to do its job here?,” Thomas wrote. “I suspect it has something to do with the fact that some respondents in these cases are named ‘Planned Parenthood.'”
Justice Clarence Thomas
“ 'Some tenuous connection to a politically fraught issue does not justify abdicating our judicial duty,” Thomas added. “If anything, neutrally applying the law is all the more important when political issues are in the background.”
"Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch joined the Thomas dissent, meaning there were three votes in favor of taking the case. Since four votes are needed for the Supreme Courtto take up a case, the opinion indicates that Chief Justice John Roberts and Kavanaugh joined with the four liberals to deny review.
"This move could indicate that Roberts and Kavanaugh are loath to take take up an abortion-related question in the aftermath of Kavanaugh’s contentious confirmation. The Court’s new junior justice has generally kept a low profile since taking the bench in October. (RELATED: Mueller And Manafort Have A Lot Riding On This Supreme Court Double Jeopardy Case)" . . .

Comey Confirms Lisa Page Helped Peter Strzok Draft Hillary Clinton’s Exoneration Statement

The Gateway Pundit

"On Saturday, the House Committees released the 235-page transcript from Comey’s closed-door interview that was conducted on Friday.

"The Committee on the House Judiciary joint with the Committee on Government Reform and Oversight interviewed fired FBI Director James Comey Friday in a closed-door session that was NOT UNDER OATH according to the transcript.

"Comey was defiant in his interview with GOP lawmakers and said he “didn’t remember” 71 times, “didn’t know” 166 times and said “I don’t recall” 8 times.
The fired FBI boss did admit to a few things, however.
"James Comey told lawmakers that former FBI lawyer Lisa Page helped her lover, Peter Strzok draft Hillary Clinton’s exoneration statement.
"Peter Strzok is the FBI agent who changed the wording from “grossly negligent,” a term that would have brought potential Espionage Act charges against Hillary Clinton, to a softer, “extremely careless.' ” . . .

6 Things to Know About AG Nominee William Barr

Daily Signal  "William Barr is a former U.S. attorney general, an advocate of investigating Hillary Clinton, and a bagpipe player for 60 years.
"President Donald Trump announced Friday that he would nominate Barr, 68, to serve again as attorney general.
"He previously served in the position from November 1991 to January 1993 under President George H.W. Bush, who died Nov. 30 and was laid to rest Thursday.
"In confirming to reporters outside the White House that he would nominate Barr, Trump called the lawyer and former business leader “one of the most respected jurists in the country,” a “highly respected lawyer,” and “a terrific man, a terrific person, a brilliant man.”
"Already, some Democrats are criticizing Barr for comments he has made in media interviews and op-eds.
"If confirmed by the Senate, Barr would succeed acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, who took over after Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions." . . .

Flashback: William Barr testifies as President George H.W. Bush's nominee for attorney general during his Senate confirmation hearing on Nov. 12, 1991. More than 27 years later, President Donald Trump announced Friday that Barr is also his pick to run the Justice Department.

What's with Tucker Carlson?

Carlson has tuckered out  "Tucker Carlson gave people every reason not to watch his show, as he spun 180 degrees and attacked the president, embraced Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and predicted the Republican Party will die.
"I am guessing that the Antifa mob that gathered outside his home last month scared the logic out of him.
"An interview with a Swiss magazine revealed Carlson's attempt to re-brand himself as Joe Scarborough." . . .

Democrats seem to have a "recall" problem

Rich Terrell

Comey does not recall...  "Former FBI Director James Comey lies at the heart of the biggest scandal in American political history. He appeared before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees yesterday to testify about it. FOX News reports on his testimony here. The committees released the partially redacted transcript this afternoon; I have posted it below.
"Comey seems to have picked up a trick or two from the kind of people he used to prosecute for a living in New York. With so much at stake, it’s a shame how little he knows or recalls about the events in which he played a central role.
"Comey Interview Transcript … by on Scribd" . . .

Daniel John Sobieski  . . . "Comey on Friday asked us all to believe that the man who remembered enough to write a book suddenly had total memory loss, saying “I don’t know” or the equivalent some 245 times. Comey claimed little knowledge of the Steele dossier yet he signed a FISA warrant based on it to spy on candidate and then President Trump all while he knew it was a fraud. His defense in front of Congress on Friday was that he didn’t know it was a fraud or he forgot.

"Unfortunately, Comey can’t hide behind his lies because there is evidence he did know the FISA warrant was a fraud:" . . .

Former FBI Director James Comey urges Americans to vote against Donald Trump in 2020 election  . . . "Mr. Comey said the Democrats have to choose a leader capable of beating Mr Trump. 'I understand the Democrats have important debates now over who their candidate should be,' he said. 'But they have to win. They have to win.'
"He said he did not want Mr. Trump to be impeached because this would 'let the country off the hook'.
"Mr. Comey said his preference was a Democrat landslide victory 'to rid ourselves of this attack on our values.' '

Comey’s testimony imitated Sgt. Schultz with amnesia
. . . "It is very curious – an aggressive prosecutor might say suspicious – that someone with his track record would claim under oath to have known so little and forgotten so much. Especially a man formerly charged with being the top law enforcement officer in the country." . . .

Time For Some Good News

More people are beginning to realize that America’s political arena has become a battle of good vs evil. Every day I remind myself, “Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15). Our duty as loving Christians and patriots is to remain diligent and faithful; spreading truth while courageously and legally pushing back against evil.

Lloyd MarcusThe Unhyphenated American  "My wife Mary sent me links to the following three articles. “Dear Hollywood: Stop Gaying All the Things, Especially Straight Characters.” The article talks about how Hollywood is making everything about homosexuality, selling the lie that everyone is a closet homosexual. According to Gall[u]p, homosexuals comprise 3.4% of the population. Leftists have scammed Americans into believing homosexuals are 23% and more. Some in Hollywood are campaigning to transform traditional heterosexual characters like Captain America and James Bond into homosexuals. Don’t laugh. It could happen, folks.

“Forcing Churches to Hire Homosexuals, Transgender Ministers Will Go National” Austin, Texas city council introduced an ordinance forcing churches to hire homosexual and transgender ministers on the grounds that not to do so is discrimination. Other cities are pushing the same ordinance. A few years ago, Houston’s city council attempted the same ordinance. It was defeated. Praise God.

"Texas Pastor Council President Dave Welch said, “In the past, we have too often waited and watched from the sidelines, silent. We decided that that is not possible anymore, that’s not acceptable.”

"This statement from Pastor Welch is particularly strong, “Forcing churches to violate core convictions is not acceptable. Once the government does so, all of our Constitutional protections are essentially gone — all gone, for all of us, across all America.”

"It is thrilling to see courageous Christians in Texas fighting back in truth and love. Real Christian love is letting people know when they are going in the wrong direction; telling them that Jesus is the answer. As my late preacher dad said, “You shouldn’t pat people on the back to hell.” Dad instructed his five kids, “Don’t make my funeral about me. Tell people about Jesus.”

"When the Supreme Court, in essence, made same-sex marriage the law of the land, a millennial family member said to me. “I don’t care if two men want to sleep together. What difference does it make?” I tried to explain to him that SCOTUS’ ruling was a veiled leftist attack on religious freedom, reaching far beyond guys sleeping together. The glazed look in my young relative’s eyes told me he thought I was paranoid, conspiratorial, and outdated."

"This third article has sane people outraged. “Father Says 6-Year-Old Son, Refuses Mom’s Demand to Dress Like a Girl — Now He’s being Charged with ‘Child Abuse’.” Texas father, Jeffery Younger could lose his son for not going along with his wacko ex-wife’s decision to raise their son James as a girl.

"James’ father has been legally prohibited from talking to his son about gender or sexuality. Meanwhile, James’ mother plans to start the process of chemically castrating their six-year-old son when James turns eight years old.

"Every day we are confronted with outrageous attacks from leftists (fake news media, Democrats, and Hollywood) on our culture, morals, freedoms, and values. Sometimes I just don’t feel like talking about it. I am not advocating that we stick our heads in the sand and not deal with it. Passivity has gotten us into this mess – we have allowed ourselves to be pushed around by aggressive leftist bullies. I am saying that sometimes it is wise to take a break from all the negativity and focus on good things.

"The tiny town in West Virginia that Mary and I moved to a year ago had their annual Christmas parade. While Santa and Mrs. Claus waved from their beautiful float equipped with a snow machine, a strong theme of the parade was Jesus is the reason for the season. That was truly refreshing. Support for Trump is high in my tiny town.

"My wife Mary enjoys watching Hallmark Christmas movie marathons. As leftists fight to remove Christ from Christmas, I appreciate Hallmark Christmas movies prominently featuring hymns. The movies are predictable. Everyone is well dressed. The settings are beautiful. The boy gets the girl and Mary says it always snows at the end. As corny as that sounds, the movies are a pleasant refreshing safe haven from all the vile garbage shoved into our faces at every turn on TV. So much of TV promotes people behaving badly. Producers are relentless in their mission to normalize deviancy.

"Extremely popular, an all-time high of 37 Hallmark Christmas movies will air this holiday season. Their ratings keep rising. That’s good news." . . .

France’s Tax Revolt: What Separates the Yellow Vests from America’s Tea Party

The Foundation for Economic Education

At first glance, the French yellow vests and American Tea Party seem quite similar, but once you look closely, the resemblance disappears.

"In an effort to make its case on climate change, the government under French president Emmanuel Macron has significantly increased the TICPE, an acronym which stands for "interior tax on the consumption of energy products." An increase of up to 12 percent is supposed to curb CO2 emissions and get the country on target to fulfill its objectives, set out in the Paris Climate Accord (which the United States has pulled out of under President Trump).
"Petrol prices in the République, which were already much higher than in its neighboring countries, skyrocketed despite the current level of cheap oil. On a website set up by the French government in an effort to help consumers compare prices, this becomes very visible: in the Paris region, a liter of petrol can cost up to €1.90 ($2.15). For my American friends who may be less familiar with the metric system, that’s $8.13 per gallon.
"As a result, the gilets jaunes (yellow vests) arose out of civil society. They aren't associated with any political party, but they are surely angry, contesting sky-high taxation in France, and the political class is unwilling to listen to them. Protest marches often occur on motorways, where the yellow vests block the streets to get attention for their cause. The high-visibility security vests they wear are symbolic for a cry for help and a desperate attempt to gain attention. However, unannounced protests on motorways also had their price: one woman was killed, and hundreds injured in protests that were held on motorways not closed down by police."' . . .

The Christmas Truce of 1914

iOTWreport

History.com   "During World War I, on and around Christmas Day 1914, the sounds of rifles firing and shells exploding faded in a number of places along the Western Front in favor of holiday celebrations in the trenches and gestures of goodwill between enemies.

"Starting on Christmas Eve, many German and British troops sang Christmas carols to each other across the lines, and at certain points the Allied soldiers even heard brass bands joining the Germans in their joyous singing.

"At the first light of dawn on Christmas Day, some German soldiers emerged from their trenches and approached the Allied lines across no-man’s-land, calling out “Merry Christmas” in their enemies’ native tongues. At first, the Allied soldiers feared it was a trick, but seeing the Germans unarmed they climbed out of their trenches and shook hands with the enemy soldiers. The men exchanged presents of cigarettes and plum puddings and sang carols and songs. There was even a documented case of soldiers from opposing sides playing a good-natured game of soccer.

"Some soldiers used this short-lived ceasefire for a more somber task: the retrieval of the bodies of fellow combatants who had fallen within the no-man’s land between the lines.

"The so-called Christmas Truce of 1914 came only five months after the outbreak of war in Europe and was one of the last examples of the outdated notion of chivalry between enemies in warfare. It was never repeated—future attempts at holiday ceasefires were quashed by officers’ threats of disciplinary action—but it served as heartening proof, however brief, that beneath the brutal clash of weapons, the soldiers’ essential humanity endured.
"During World War I, the soldiers on the Western Front did not expect to celebrate on the battlefield, but even a world war could not destroy the Christmas spirit."

So Much Irony it’s Mag[a]netic

Trump Derangement Syndrome
Clarice Feldman  "There’s a 12-part series of images circulating on the internet titled “Ink Blot Test For People with Trump Derangement Syndrome” which shows pictures of a dozen nondescript ink blots all of which those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome call “Russian Collusion”. That’s about as close as they’ll get to it, because as the Mueller investigation winds down, still with no evidence of collusion, Hillary and her friends seem to be not so lucky. The lawbreaking she (and they) evaded penalty for seems finally closer to a reckoning.

Chick-Fil-A Creates Special Restaurant In Philadelphia For Military Members Who Can’t Go To Army-Navy Game

Daily Caller "Chick-fil-A had a solution for military members who could not get tickets to the Army-Navy game.
"The beloved fried chicken house opened a special pop-up restaurant in Philadelphia for active duty military, veterans and their families to watch the storied game. The pop-up served food and drink from a special menu and featured games and entertainment.
"Chick-fil-A is an official partner of the 119th Army-Navy game."

The National Anthem was knee-free

President Trump was cheered at the game "The crowd erupted when President Trump took the field to conduct the coin toss for the 119th Army-Navy college football game on Saturday.
. . .
“Ladies and gentlemen, please turn your attention to midfield for today’s coin toss and welcome President Donald J. Trump,” the announcer said as he introduced Trump, as well as the secretaries of the Army and Navy.President Trump is the 10th sitting president to attend Army-Navy game since Theodore Roosevelt first witnessed the event in 1901. Trump also attended the event two years ago, becoming the first president-elect to do so.The crowd cheered again when the referee introduced Trump before the toss.
“It is our honor to have a very special guest for the coin toss with us today,” said the referee. “Your commander in chief and the president of these great United States of America, Donald Trump.”

Top 10 'War On Christmas' Fails Of All Time

Daily Wire  "We hear the stories every year: the ACLU suing small towns over Nativity displays, "Holiday Tree" lightings, colleges banning religious icons, storefronts wishing us an empty "Happy Holidays," Lena Dunham being Lena Dunham.
"Yet, the moment our ears catch wind of the Left's all-too-apparent "War on Christmas," the mainstream media and their "useful idiots" in late-night comedy are already roasting us on an open fire before any of us can say "partridge in a pear tree." Instead of turtle doves and golden rings, we get gaslights and courtroom subpoenas.
"Clutch not your candy canes, though. If the Puritans couldn't do it, if the French Revolutionaries couldn't do it, if the Nazis couldn't do it, if the Soviets couldn't do it, if CBS couldn't do it, then the party of scrooges will certainly never rid the world of the joy that is "Christmas." So long as we have Christ, Christmas will always follow. In the meantime, however, let's all pull up a chair, sip on some hot cocoa, roast up some chestnuts, and ring in the season with a few laughs over the Left's sorry attempts to transform Christmas into a snowflake's wonderland.
"Here are the Top 10 Best (Worst?) "War on Christmas" Fails Of All Time:

"According to the Left, Santa can neither be fat nor be a white male, but he can be in a gay relationship with a black husband. Released in October by Harper's Design, the book "Santa's Husband" tells the incredible story of "a black Santa Claus and his white husband who both live in the North Pole."
"Written by Daniel Kibblesmith of the "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the book was intended to be a parody to mock conservatives.". . .

Robert Francis O’Rourke Spent Virtually All His Campaign Money In Losing Effort

Daily Caller

"He’s a real Democrat.
Post-election Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings released on Thursday reveal that Democratic Rep. Robert “Beto” O’Rourke burned through almost all of the record-breaking $80 million he raised while campaigning to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.
The Beto For Texas campaign had just over $475,000 remaining of cash on hand in the reporting period ending three weeks after the midterm election, according to FEC records. O’Rourke ended with a staggering $80.3 million raised during the 2018 election cycle, compared to Cruz’s much lower, but still respectable $38.9 million.
O’Rourke received more campaign contributions in one quarter than any Senate candidate in American history. In the 3rd quarter of 2018, the El Paso congressman raised $38.1 million. Comparatively, Cruz raised $12.4 million which placed him as the third highest fundraiser of the 2018 candidates for Senate.
