From Germany: Obama’s Amateurish Middle East Policy

Die Zeit, Germany h/t to Watching America "The fact is, the president now stands before a Middle East rubbish heap larger than it was when he first took office. His image in Israel is at an all-time low and, even in the Arab world, his popularity has suffered."

What's with "Friday news dumps"?

By Karl Rove "Every modern White House has put out news on contentious issues late on Friday in the hope that doing so will bury it, or reduce the amount of critical scrutiny it would otherwise receive. What is unusual is the degree to which this White House has relied on this tactic.".... "Friday night network television news and Saturday newspapers and cable coverage are traditionally less seen or read. By Sunday morning, a Friday announcement is often considered old news. Monday is the first opportunity White House correspondents get to ask the president's press secretary on camera about whatever was released Friday. By then there is almost always other news occupying the headlines."

President Obama’s Foreign Policy: An Assessment; by John Bolton

Imprimus "Here at home, the Obama administration has gravely impaired our capability to gather human intelligence by declassifying hundreds of pages of documents that explain our interrogation techniques—information that is now probably in al-Qaeda training manuals."...."We need a president who is going to provide us with leadership in international affairs—not one who believes that America should simply come home. And we need a president who believes that the best place to defend our interest is overseas rather than in the streets of America."

What Americans Need to Know About the Copenhagen Global Warming Conference

Heritage "Abstract: In December, the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will meet in Copenhagen to work on a successor treaty to the Kyoto Protocol. U.S. negotiators should refuse to sign any climate change treaty that does not include meaningful participation by China, India, and other major developing nations or that would harm the U.S. economy or threaten U.S. sovereignty."

The Death Blow to Climate Science

CanadaFreePress Someone hacked in to the files of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) based at the University of East Anglia. A very large file (61 mb) was downloaded and posted to the web. Phil Jones Director of the CRU has acknowledged the files are theirs. They contain papers, documents letters and emails. The latter are the most damaging and contain blunt information about the degree of manipulation of climate science in general and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in particular. WaPo reports on East Anglia CRU e-mails, global-warming controversy

Hot Air "Global-warming advocates routinely criticize skeptics for not having enough peer-reviewed work rebutting their findings. If they’re conspiring to block the publication of such research, that undermines their argument and their scientific credibility. One of their nemeses explains the significance:"

$300 million for ONE vote!

Washington Post "And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix." "

Deliberative Analysis, RIP

American Thinker "A troubling trend has emerged in regard to hot-button issues like [Man-caused] Global Warming and health care. It may not come as a surprise, but there no longer appears to be an interest by many on the left to engage in deliberative analysis and debate about proposed legislation. There are a handful of stereotypical accusations and responses from the left, whether from the Democrat leadership, including the President, or the average, everyday liberal. These irrational attacks must be addressed, broken down, and put away for good."

Burkha Barbie

"She said: 'We are delighted Sotheby's and the designer chose to auction the burka Barbie dolls for our charity.' The money will go towards the Rewrite the Future campaign which helps millions of children around the world effected by conflict."

The Obama/Holder Bushwhack

American Thinker "For the first time in U.S. history, because of the irresponsibility of the Obama administration, unlawful enemy combatants (make that "unprivileged enemy belligerents") who committed an act of war against the United States will be charged with war crimes in a civilian court on U.S. soil. Must we endure an Obama apology to Herman Goering and Hideki Tojo? Obama wants to wake up in the city that doesn't sleep to find he's king of the hill, top of the heap. Let's hope it's not another heap of rubble."
