The Real War on Women is From the Left

Power Line Blog  "Remember how the left not long ago went on and on and on about the supposed “war on women” from the right? The irony is that according to current leftist dogma, women no longer exist. After all, the Biden Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services is insisting in referring to mothers (once understood as a significant subset of beings known as “women”) as “birthing persons,” because current leftist dogma says men can have babies, too. Which means women no long have anything naturally distinctive about them.

"Christine Rosen dilates this problem wonderfully in the current issue of Commentary in “The New Misogyny.” Key bit:

The misogynistic nature of this revolution has escaped proper scrutiny precisely because it is understood as progressive—as literally better than everything that has come before. And it casts everything that has come before as suspect: All forms of social organization and every idea that denies this movement’s claims have been deemed retrogressive and actively harmful to the forward march of greater rights for all.

This is an audacious form of woman-hatred, especially since it comes in the guise of opening up womanhood, of extending its benefits to all. But by doing so, it becomes nothing less than an assault on what it means to be a woman. And it is not being understood as such by its advocates and their fellow travelers because of a potent combination of two factors: First, people’s fears of being labeled bigots, and second, a genuine and commendable effort to extend compassion and care to a very small minority.

"Which brings me back to the story I’ve commented on before of Lia Thomas, the “woman” swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania who is shattering women’s swim records after having competed for three years as an average male swimmer for Penn. This video shows Thomas’s enormous margin of victory in a recent 1,500 meter swim. It is just over two minutes, but you can scroll to about the 1:15 mark and you’ll see the absurd margin of Thomas’s farcical “win” (Thomas marked helpfully with a red arrow in lane 5)—notice especially long it takes for the second-place finisher to come in:" . . .

The Thursday’s announcement comes as Israel is deepening diplomatic, security and economic relations with leading Arab states. This week, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett became the first Israeli leader to visit the United Arab Emirates. The UAE is the third Arab state to fully recognize Israel last year as part of the Abraham Accords, an agreement brokered by President Trump [As No feckless Democrat would have done].

Legal Insurrection

Ukrainian President Zelensky: “We know what it’s like not to have our own state. We know what it means to defend one’s own state and land with weapons in hand, at the cost of our own lives.”

"Ukraine recognizes Jerusalem as “the one and only capital of Israel” and plans to open an embassy branch in the Holy City in the coming months, the Ukrainian envoy to Israel announced on Thursday.

“ 'My country recognizes the one and only capital of Israel, and that is Jerusalem,” Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Korniichuk said. Regarding the establishment of a diplomatic mission in Jerusalem, the envoy added that “[a]s soon as I get permission, I will do it immediately.”

"Ambassador “Korniychuk expresses hope embassy branch will be inaugurated next year if security ties expand,” The Times of Israel reported citing the envoy’s remarks.

In October, Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited the former Soviet Republic. Ukrainian President Zelensky is expected to inaugurate the diplomatic office during his reciprocal visits next year.

Antifa not an organization? Come on, man!

Feared but not respected, may I say? A video of chanting, black-clad,  masked youths faced off with police somewhere and the chants were enlightening; I heard not one slogan that sounded original and unquoted. One wonders, do these youths have any original thoughts or convictions not spoon-fed them by others? TD

Antifa Facts & FAQ's  "Antifa is an anti-fascist political movement that is comprised of many autonomous groups and organizations that support anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian views. With having no structural leadership it will make the organization very difficult to combat. Thus efforts to try and stop the organization will be difficult" . . .

Inflation is good for you, peasant

 Don Surber

"A month ago, when MSNBC said inflation is a good thing, I said, well, that's MSNBC screwing with reality. Brian Williams was the perfect fit for the prevarication news channel.

"Since then, Biden has told the media bosses to talk up his successes. Given that he's lost the War on Terrorism, surrendered our border, and killed more people with covid than his predecessor did, that leaves them the economy to chat up.

"CNN trotted out, "Why inflation can actually be good for everyday Americans and bad for rich people."

"You don't have to be Liz Warren or Bernie Sanders to know that is untrue. The upper 1% have seen their net worth sky rocket. The S&P 500 is up 50% in the last 2 years even with the covid crash in the stock market in February 2020.

"That was the first of many attempts by CNN to paint a smiley face on the Venezuela-ing of the economy by Biden.

"News Busters reported, "Over the course of two weeks, the cable network’s coverage of oil and gas prices shifted from 77% negative to 79% positive."

"CNN drooled over a 4-cent drop in price in the last week while ignoring the dollar-plus rise since Biden was, um, elected.

"Gasoline prices are at a 7-year high." . . .

J6 Committee Fabricates More Evidence, Says Trump Waited 187 Minutes To Call For Peace. It Was Actually 25

 The Federalist

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence!” the president wrote. “Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order — respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!” President Donald Trump

"Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney went after former President Donald Trump in her prime-time performance on Monday claiming that private messages of the president’s staff revealed an apathetic leader complicit in the riot at the Capitol as the attack unfolded.

“ 'The violence was evident to all — it was covered in real time by almost every news channel,” said Cheney, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked vice chair of the Select Committee on January 6. “But, for 187 minutes, President Trump refused to act when action by our president was required, indeed essential, and compelled by his oath to our Constitution.”

"Trump’s 187-minute delay to action, she added, was a “supreme dereliction of duty.” An actual examination of the day’s events, however, shows no such delay.

"According to a detailed timeline of the turmoil by The New York Times, the first building was not breached until about 2:13 p.m. The timeline was corroborated by The Washington Post, which stamped the first break-in at 2:15 p.m. Trump’s first tweet addressing the upheaval shortly followed at 2:38 p.m., when the president made a plea for peace, writing, “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!' ” . . .

Biden's 'infrastructure czar' is a total incompetent

Mitch Landrieu

Jeff Crouere   "Mitch Landrieu, the former two-term mayor of New Orleans, was recently appointed "Infrastructure Czar" by President Joe Biden.  He will oversee spending the $1.2 trillion allocated by Congress for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.  Not surprisingly, most of the funds will be spent on projects that have nothing to do with infrastructure.

"With this appointment and the resulting media attention, Landrieu's stock is rising so fast that CNN has just added him to the list of potential Democrat party presidential candidates in 2024.

"Does Landrieu deserve all this hype?  Certainly not when considering his performance as mayor of New Orleans.  For eight years, Landrieu was a disaster as mayor.  The list of his failures is too numerous to document, but here are a few of the lowlights.

"The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) suffered a manpower crisis as Landrieu decimated the force, refusing to provide funding for new recruitment classes.  The NOPD is still suffering from an understaffed department, compliments of Mitch Landrieu.

"With too few police officers, the crime problem, especially murders, in New Orleans has exploded in recent years.  In his final year in office, about 75% of murders were unsolved, thanks to a police force that is five hundred officers below minimum requirements.  The roots of this crisis can be traced to Landrieu's historic bungling of the NOPD." . . .

Fighting Crime the Soros Way

The American Spectator

"The loony-left donor is bankrolling criminal-allied district attorneys and building a bodycount."

Branco cartoon added; TD

. . ."Like in Milwaukee, San Francisco, St. Louis, New Orleans, and many others where high-profile mayhem has taken hold, Philadelphia’s district attorney is a Marxist buffoon named Larry Krasner who is in office in large measure because he was backed by the left-wing financier and essentially-perfect James Bond villain George Soros. The latter has made it a personal project, after corrupting America’s elections through similar attempts to elect revolutionaries to Secretary of State positions around the country a decade or so ago, to install pro-criminal district attorneys in major and mid-sized cities across America.

"In 2017 when Krasner was elected, a Soros-affiliated PAC dumped an unprecedented $1.7 million into the race for his benefit. Nobody had ever spent that kind of money in a Philly DA race before. But it was nothing for Soros.

"For example, Soros a few years ago dropped nearly a million dollars into a district attorney race in Shreveport, Louisiana, something no one in that area was prepared for or could believe. The bottom has fallen out of law enforcement in that city since and it is losing population faster than almost any municipality in America as a result.

"In Milwaukee, a Soros-backed imbecile named John Chisholm championed little or no cash bail even for violent criminals, gleefully admitting that there would be blood on the streets as a result. He paid off that promise, and then some, when in suburban Waukesha a career criminal named Darrell Brooks massacred six people by smacking his SUV into a Christmas parade. Brooks was out on $1,000 bail after running his girlfriend over just a few days earlier" . . .
