"California Gov. Gavin Newsom was elected governor in 2018 by 62% to 38%, a result that was, unsurprisingly in an era of straight-ticket voting and strong partisan allegiance, almost identical to President Joe Biden's 64% to 34% margin over Donald Trump in 2020.

"As of this writing — and it has taken California weeks to fully count its votes in recent general elections — incomplete returns show 64% of Californians voting against recalling Newsom and only 36% for removing him from office.

"That result makes the second question on the ballot about who should replace the governor irrelevant. But it did enable Democrats to spend enormous sums linking Larry Elder, the conservative radio talk host who led in polls on the replacement question, as a clone of Trump.". . .

The real problem is a national security state that refuses to protect the American people.

He’s accused of not telling the FBI he was working for Hillary’s campaign when he pushed the government to investigate ties between Trump and Russia.

"A federal grand jury indicted DNC/Fusion GPS/Hillary Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmamnn for allegedly lying to the FBI during the Russia investigation.

"It turns out Sussmann’s lies initiated the investigation into Trump’s campaign.

"From Fox News:

Sussmann, whose firm had previously represented the Democratic National Committee, told the FBI’s James Baker in Sep. 2019 that he was not representing a client when pushing for an investigation into Trump. Sussmann denied any wrongdoing, while withholding the fact that he was working on behalf of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Lawyers for Sussmann say that he “has committed no crime” and that prosecuting him “would be baseless, unprecedented and an unwarranted deviation from the apolitical and principled way in which the Department of Justice is supposed to do its work.”

“We are confident that if Mr. Sussmann is charged, he will prevail at trial and vindicate his good name,” they said.

"The only president who delivered a formal speech on 9/11 was former President George W. Bush. And it was terrible.

"In two ways. First, Bush's speech was as much about decrying today's political divisions as it was about remembering the events of Sept. 11. But Bush showed an astonishing lack of self-awareness of the role his own actions played in creating those divisions. And second, Bush helped widen those divisions by endorsing a Rachel Maddow-esque argument that an equivalence exists between the plane-hijacking, murderous terrorists of Sept. 11, 2001, and the Capitol rioters of Jan. 6, 2021 — a comparison that has no basis in fact but has done much to sour the national debate.

"Bush spoke at ceremonies for Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It was the site of perhaps the most heroic of many heroic acts by Americans on Sept. 11. The passengers who fought back against the hijackers sacrificed their own lives to save the victims the terrorists were targeting.
