Trump Executive Order Strips Federal Funding From Cities Who Fail To Protect Federal Monuments

"Several major cities have had problems with protesters targeting, tagging, defacing, and even toppling monuments. Although the craze began with demonstrations targeting monuments to the Confederacy, many of them erected well after the Civil War ended, the movement has since experienced a significant mission creep and is now targeting monuments to past presidents, Catholic missionaries, and even abolitionist figures."
Daily Wire

"President Donald Trump announced late Friday that his administration would be enforcing federal provisions demanding that cities and states protect monuments paid for by the federal government and threatening those who pull down monuments with “long prison time.”
"Trump tweeted about the executive order on Saturday, calling it a “strong” response to efforts, across the country, to pull down monuments deemed “racist” or “controversial.”
“ 'I just had the privilege of signing a very strong Executive Order protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues – and combatting recent Criminal Violence. Long prison terms for these lawless acts against our Great Country!” Trump tweeted." . . .

Do not expect this to stand up in court when challenged, which it will be.

Not Woke Enough: Black Lives Matter Activists March On Beverly Hills ‘Eat The Rich!’

Paul Goldberg

"Several arrests were made in Beverly Hills after Black Lives Matter activists marched through a Beverly Hills residential neighborhood.
"The group of marchers was chanting “Eat the rich!” And “Abolish capitalism now!”
"The Beverly Hills Police Department tweeted: “The unlawful assembly in the area of Rexford Dr & Carmelita Ave has ended with arrests being made. Protesters have now left the City.”
"Human Events Managing Editor Ian Miles Cheong put together video highlights  of protestors as they moved through the residential neighborhood and tore down American flags screaming “Eat the rich!” And abolish capitalism now!.”
" 'The Black Lives Matter mob shut down Santa Monica Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, and intersections around the city center,” wrote Cheong. At one point the group “seized a privately owned American flag in a residential suburb, shredding it and pulling it down.” In the residential areas, video shows, the group played “loud music and blocked the streets.”
“ 'The police showed up in full force to arrest members of the Black Lives Matter mob making a nuisance of themselves across residential Los Angeles streets,” Cheong captions one post with video of police arresting members of the group. “One pretended to be injured by the police and forced them to drag him.' ” . . .

AOC Attacks Home Owners, Squad Pushes Bill To Strip Property From Owners To Make Things ‘Fair’

News Thud

"Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacked “homeowners” saying that they are hurting people that can’t afford to own land. Her rant comes as the crooked congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar proposed a bill that would strip property owners of their property if the federal government deems it necessary.
“ 'It makes no sense that we are squeezing people that already cannot afford to purchase their own home for more money than a person who already owns land and is a land-owning member or a home-owning member of our economy,” said a video posted by the Congresswoman on Twitter.
. . . "Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota at the same time introduced a bill that would strip property rights from Americans; it’s called the Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act, which is a socialist dream.
"The bill would cancel all rent and mortgage payments regardless of income or employment throughout the duration of the pandemic.
The bill would constitute a full payment forgiveness, with no accumulation of debt for renters or homeowners and no negative impact on their credit rating or rental history,” a news release from Omar’s office says.
"A fund would be created “to fully finance the purchase of private rental properties by non-profits, public housing authorities, cooperatives, community land trusts, and states or local governments — in order to increase the availability of affordable housing during this downturn.' ”  . . .

NYPD precinct commander leaves Bronx precinct for last time after standing up to feckless mayor

"An Instagram post about the walkout ceremony noted that Brea was supposed to attend a community board meeting where he would allegedly “be asked to take a knee” and was also “told to apologize for police action taken during violent riots a few weeks ago in his precinct.”

BPR  "A longtime New York Police Department commanding officer turned in his badge and left the precinct for the last time in protest.
"The love and respect for Deputy Inspector Richard Brea were on full display as he was given a rousing retirement walkout outside the 46th precinct in the Bronx on Friday.
"NYPD bagpipe players and an NYPD helicopter were part of the celebration of Brea who left Friday afternoon in a restored classic police car after a blistering speech slamming government leaders for turning their back on police officers.
"After nearly three decades on the force, Brea turned in his resignation in protest over the lack of direction on how to handle guns and drugs in the neighborhood in the wake of the recent disbanding of the police anti-crime unit.  The move came after weeks of protests and unrest in the wake of George Floyd’s death and increased scrutiny and criticism of law enforcement.
"Police Commissioner Dermot Shea had announced that the 600 members of the NYPD plainclothes anti-crime unit were to be reassigned, leaving Brea to wonder, “How am I supposed to lead?” according to Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, the New York Post reported." . . .
Interestingly, ABC News7 in New York reported on the 46th Precinct just over a year ago, noting that “one of the most dangerous police precincts in New York City has seen a historic drop in crime over the past two decades,” thanks to the NYPD’s “renewed focus on neighborhood policing.”
The precinct was known as “the Alamo” because of the dangerous conditions that were turned around under the police efforts. But Brea had tough words for politicians who did not respect the officers in the Bronx neighborhood station.
“Their blood is in the concrete of every street corner, but these politicians don’t want to remember that,” Brea said in remarks at the ceremony sending him off on Friday. “They want to blame and vilify everyone here. I won’t have that. No sir.”
“We have a duty and a responsibility to respect and guide other cops,” he said, adding, “My 46 family, the Alamo, I love you man.”

Harry Reid strikes again

Washington Examiner  "When he was running the U.S. Senate in 2012, Harry Reid asserted, without presenting evidence, that an anonymous source had told him that Republican nominee Mitt Romney was a tax cheat. “So, the word is out that he has not paid any taxes for 10 years,” the majority leader declared from the Senate floor. “Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t.”
"It was a classless move from a classless politician. As it turned out, his comment didn’t bear any relation to reality. In reality, it turned out that Romney paid millions of dollars in taxes each year and gave a significant amount to charity.
"Asked years later if he had any regrets about the dastardly attack, Reid replied, “Romney didn’t win, did he?”
"A lot has changed since 2012. Back then, Romney proudly accepted Donald Trump’s endorsement for president. Also back then, Democrats mocked the Republican nominee for arguing that Russia posed a serious threat to America. But one thing has held constant: Even in retirement, Reid is behaving like a dishonest weasel by making outrageous assertions that he cannot back up.
"In a new book, Reid has now declared there’s “no question” that Russian hackers tampered with vote totals in 2016." . . .

All that bar-hopping and spring-breaking: Press ignores protests as source of new wave of COVID-19

Why exactly isn't that an issue in the press today? The protests, the frustrations, the politicizations have all contributed to this spike in cases, as have other factors. But only protests seem to be too hot to handle. Why is truth such as hard thing to handle for leftists doing this press coverage?
Monica Showalter  With a new wave, or peak, of Chinese coronavirus cases shutting much of the country down again, and news getting out about how it's younger people being infected, the press is blaming bar-hopping and spring break travel. And in the case of the Washington Post, President Trump's rally in Arizona, too. Here's one account from the Washington Post: . . .
. . .

"Anything to ignore the elephant in the room: raw, undistanced, unprotected, mass protests over the police-brutality death of George Floyd. The Washington Post actually excuses the protests.
"Curiously, the new wave of cases among young people now coincides with the waves of unprotected protests and lootings - five-, ten-day incubation periods, meaning the cases were contracted right about when the protests and lootings were going on. Apparently, everyone was out bar-hopping, according to the press reports seen now. Yet the anecdotal evidence is everywhere: . . ."

Jerry Nadler Says Antifa Is Imaginary, Gets Savaged by Jim Jordan in Front of Congress

Nadler’s ignorance of antifa raises the possibility that the congressman agrees with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that the left-wing mobs unleashing violence across America are the “armed militia of the Democratic Party.”
WJ  "It looks like House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler needs a little reality check.
"After all, speaking on the House floor Wednesday, the New York Democrat described the far-left domestic terrorist group antifa, which is currently wreaking havoc in major American cities, as “imaginary.”
"Fortunately, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the Judiciary Committee’s ranking Republican, quickly rose to the occasion and set his colleague straight.
