Trump’s Goose Isn’t Cooked Yet

As President Lincoln remarked of the braggart General Joe Hooker, about to have a losing battle with Lee's Army of Northern Virginia in 1863, “The hen is the wisest of all the animal creation, because she never cackles until the egg is laid.”

Conrad Black
In their preemptive exuberance the president’s enemies have begun what amounts almost to a post-mortem on the Trump era. This prematurely fattened goose is cackling too loudly and too soon for several reasons.
"The current speculation about a likely Joe Biden victory in the November presidential election ignores a number of extraordinary factors. Since the speculation is in the media and the media is overwhelmingly hostile to President Trump, there is a spontaneous urge to consider his declining fortunes in the polls as a vindication of both their professionalism and their prophetic talents. Their self-confidence is misplaced.
"In the last four months the United States has endured the greatest public health crisis in a century, requiring a substantial economic shutdown that has induced the swiftest and most profound economic recession since the 1930s, followed by the worst rioting and public disorder, and the greatest racial strife in more than 50 years. It is not surprising that the president has lost some ground in the polls.
 Premature Pandemic Excitement
"Four months ago, in the midst of perhaps the most flourishing economy in American history, Trump’s innumerable enemies were sinking into an almost resigned state of gloom about his reelection. Since the pandemic and its consequences seemed to produce a benign deliverance for the president’s enemies—a political miracle—it has temporarily deprived most of the anti-Trump media of any perspective. It has transported them to pinnacles of righteous overconfidence, and it has emboldened the furtive anti-Trump and NeverTrump Republicans to come snorting out of the undergrowth, bellowing their long-muted hostility to the incumbent. Now they openly cavort with the Biden Democrats.
"In their preemptive exuberance, the president’s enemies have begun what amounts almost to a post-mortem on the Trump era. This prematurely fattened goose is cackling too loudly and too soon for several reasons." . . .

Sidney Powell: Obama 'takedown' prevented Flynn from exposing CIA corruption

WND  "Amid new evidence of the direct involvement of President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in the prosecution of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the onetime national security adviser's lawyer is putting a spotlight on one of the likely motives.
"Sidney Powell disclosed in an interview that Flynn was prepared to expose massive corruption by U.S. intelligence agencies under Obama, led by then-CIA Director John Brennan.
"That is, in part, why federal agents "set up" Flynn, Powell told the "Vickie McKenna Show" on WIBA in Madison, Wisconsin, reported LifeZette.
"He was going to audit the intel agencies because he knew about the billions Brennan and company were running off the books," Powell said.
"An appeals court last Wednesday ordered the charges against Flynn dropped. Flynn previously withdrew his plea of guilty to a charge of lying to FBI agents in the Russia-collusion probe after evidence surfaced that he had been the victim of a "perjury trap." Unsealed notes show FBI agents plotting to get Flynn to lie so he could be prosecuted.
"Obama tapped Flynn in 2012 to serve as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2012. But Flynn was pushed out after clashing with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and others." . . .

Joe needed support then just as he does now.
. . . "Brzezinski then simply asked Biden if he would permit a search of only Reade’s name in the records, and Biden’s response was astounding. Brzezinski was met with dead air." . . .

The Strategies of Dementia Politics

A hard-left candidate for vice president will have to do the campaign messaging as a public auxiliary of, and in line with, Joe Biden. She will privately reassure her base that it’s all a moderate con, assuming that leftist voters are sophisticated and cynical enough to be willing to be lied to now for the sake of gaining power shortly.  VDH
Victor Davis Hanson
"Stoke chaos, obstruct economic recovery, and hide Biden in the basement till Election Day.
"Joe Biden is tragically suffering a mental eclipse and sliding away at a geometric rate. Understandably, his handlers have kept him out of sight. He stays off the campaign trail on the pretext of the virus and his age-related susceptibility to COVID-19 morbidity.
"I say “pretext” without apology. Quarantine should not have otherwise stopped Biden over the past three months from doing daily interviews, speeches, and meetings. But each occasion, however scripted, rehearsed, and canned, would only have offered further daily proof that Biden is cognitively unable to be president or indeed to hold any office.
"Often Biden cannot finish a sentence. Names are vague eddies in his mind’s river of forgetfulness. He is in a far more dire mental state than a physically failing FDR was in his 1944 campaign for a fourth term.
"The earlier career of a healthy Biden illustrates that he was not especially sharp even when in control of most of his faculties. We recall the former sane/nutty Biden of Neal Kinnock plagiarism, his “put y’all in chains” demagoguery, the studied racism of Biden’s riffs about a “clean” and well-spoken Obama, and the sane/insane Corn Pop stories. All are the trademark of a once fool Joe Biden, who was at least alert when compared with his current catalepsy. If Donald Trump can be ungrammatical, Biden is agrammatical — he simply streams together half-thoughts without syntax and then abandons the sentence entirely.
"If Trump repeats vocabulary, Biden increasingly searches for words, any noun, whatever its irrelevance to the point he is making. Biden seems to suffer dyscognitive seizures, in which for moments he has no idea what he is doing or saying or where he is — a tragic, nearly epileptic condition. In scary episodes, the pale, scaly, and frozen visage of Biden appears almost reptilian, like a lizard freezing and remaining stationary as it struggles to process signals of perceived danger." . . .

Also from Mr. Hanson: When the Bidexit?  "We have reached a strange impasse in the campaign in which weakness is seen as strength. The fact that Biden is cognitively impaired and hiding in his basement in virtual incommunicado is now seen as a valuable strategy, given that Trump is dealing with the virus, lockdowns, the economy, and a pandemic of lawlessness and chaos — and down in the polls." . . .

NOT my father's Democrat Party!

It will be President Trump or a candidate and his administration chosen by these people. TD

Connecticut GOP Calls on ‘Democratic Party’ to Change Name: ‘Years of Racial Oppression’

Trump voters stay, black voters join

My anti-Trumpism existed from the start from his abrasive insults, especially of Carly Fiorina - I still feel he should apologize for that - but when it became a choice between him and Hillary my fear of the Democrat Party far outweighed his negatives. In 2020, how can any intelligent American not fear this Democrat Party? TD

Don Surber  "The New York Times alleged, "Trump Faces Mounting Defections From a Once-Loyal Group: Older White Voters."
"But despite the headline, the Times could not find one supporter of President Donald John Trump who flipped.
"And therein lies the key to President Trump's re-election. His supporters are not abandoning him. He took 30 states in 2016 with them. He will take 30 with them again, and as his army of supporters grows, 7 other states could flip in his direction.
"In fact, Karen Gamble, 65, of Reidsville, North Carolina, told the paper she is voting for him again. She said, "We can’t blame him for covid-19 — how many presidents could really do any better than what he’s done?' " . . .

. . . But the first Rule of Reading a News Story is to look for what the reporter does not say.
"I have noticed that the stories on the polls are not showing what percentage of the president voters are voting for Biden.
"In 2016, Donald Trump won with 8% of the black vote. His approval among black likely voters was 22% the day George Floyd died.
"A month later, President Trump's approval among black likely voters is 37%."

The DNC's Tweet About July 4th Event Was So Bad They Deleted It

Leah Barkoukis

"The official Twitter account of the Democratic National Committee accused President Trump of “glorifying white supremacy” over a planned celebration of July 4th at Mount Rushmore.
"Last month, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem announced that fireworks would be coming back to Mount Rushmore for Independence Day celebrations and that Trump would be attending. She thanked him for working with her administration to make it happen, as the displays had previously been canceled over fire dangers.
"But it wasn’t the environment the DNC was concerned about in their Monday tweet. Rather, it was “white supremacy”.
" 'Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again," the Democrats wrote. "He's attempted to limit their voting rights and blocked critical pandemic relief. Now he's holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore- a region once sacred to tribal communities.' " . . .
. . . "Despite calls to demolish Mount Rushmore, Noem vowed "not on my watch."
" 'I want to make one thing clear: the men honored on Mount Rushmore weren’t perfect; nobody is. They all had flaws. But they all had tremendous virtues as well, and they did incredible things for our country," she said in a statement. "Today, America is the greatest nation in the history of the world, and that is in no small part thanks to each president memorialized on Mount Rushmore. We can learn from their successes, and we can also learn from their mistakes. And in doing so, we must continue to fight for the American ideal that each of them spent their lives striving for: 'All men are created equal.'"
Comments to this post:
  • Maybe the Democrats' social media manager meant to tweet that hot take from his Antifa account.
  • And... deleted as I expected. Don't worry, @TheDemocrats; I saved it for you.
  • "The Democrats think Mt Rushmore is a display of white supremacy. There’s no saving this country if Biden gets elected.
As you see, other presidents honored the monument . No sign of Beto-guilt here.

Time to Expose the Fraud That Launched BLM

I thought I had made it to the peak of my disgust for the media's blatant lies, but this, this is a WHOLE new level!! This is BETRAYAL to a young black man traumatized by the fear-mongering pushed out as a result of this case, and indoctrinated at TWELVE YEARS OLD with the idea that I was being "hunted down everywhere I went" because of my race. BETRAYAL!!.
Jack Cashill  "On Black Lives Matter's website, the organization's radical founders trace the creation of their movement "to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin's murderer, George Zimmerman.

"Had those founders paid any attention to the trial, they would have known that Zimmerman should never have been charged with murder, let alone tried.  The fact that he was arrested can be attributed to a stunningly blatant fraud orchestrated by the attorney who has been prominently milking the racial divide he helped create, Benjamin Crump.
"As it happens, the one person capable of exposing this fraud is George Zimmerman.  All Zimmerman needs is his own Atticus Finch, an attorney brave enough to resist the howling mob and stand up for the truth.
"In the way of background, Zimmerman has filed a suit in the Circuit Court of Florida's Tenth Judicial Circuit.  The evidence is overwhelming that Trayvon Martin's support team, including Martin's parents and their attorney, Benjamin Crump, knowingly substituted an imposter witness for the real "phone witness" in order to secure Zimmerman's arrest for the 2012 shooting death of Martin.
"Also named in the suit are the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE); the State of Florida; former state attorneys Bernie de la Rionda, John Guy, and Angela Corey, and HarperCollins, the publisher of Crump's defamatory book, Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People.
"In a 2012 deposition, the perjured testimony of the imposter in question, Rachel Jeantel, enabled the State of Florida to arrest Zimmerman and take him to trial.  Evidence strongly suggests that state attorneys knew that the witness was a fraud." . . .

CNN naturally was part of the torch-bearing crowd . . . "While MSNBC and Fox News are often accused of leaning drastically to opposite sides of the aisle — left and right, respectively — CNN often bills itself as balanced and impartial. But some critics are saying that by allowing hosts to take sides on such a contentious issue during a straight news hour CNN is confusing its viewers and compromising the network’s claims of neutrality.
"Mediaite’s Joe Concha criticized the network for not “specifically naming the program” and failing to bill it as an opinion show, and Scott Jones at FTVLive wrote that CNN could no longer “claim themselves as a down the middle newscast with no bias.' ”

"My Back Pages": The Bob Dylan Song That Can Guide a Generation Lost in Protest

Whatever intent lay behind his words, the award speech is generally seen as the first signs of Dylan’s disillusionment with the 1960s folk protest movement. The following year, in a wide-ranging interview with Nat Hentoff published in The New Yorker, Dylan explained that he was done with “finger-pointing” songs.
The Foundation for Economic Education
"Fifteen years before publication of Solzhenitsyn’s most famous work, a 22-year-old Bob Dylan gleaned a startling truth about good and evil."
"Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now"
. . “ 'I'm proud that I'm young. And I only wish that all you people who are sitting out here today or tonight weren't here,” said Dylan. “Because you people should be at the beach. You should be out there and you should be swimming and you should be just relaxing in the time you have to relax.”
"Many have written about Dylan’s speech that night—including Dylan himself, who days later penned a poetic explanation attempting to explain his thought process and the tumult of feelings he was experiencing.

The following year, in a wide-ranging interview with Nat Hentoff published in The New Yorker, Dylan explained that he was done with “finger-pointing” songs.
“ 'Those records I’ve already made, I’ll stand behind them, but some of that was jumping into the scene to be heard and a lot of it was because I didn’t see anybody else doing that kind of thing,” Dylan told Hentoff. “Now a lot of people are doing finger-pointing songs. You know—pointing to all the things that are wrong. Me, I don’t want to write for people anymore. You know—be a spokesman.' ” . . .

. . . The danger is that in our righteous zeal we might come to believe we possess the knowledge and ability to shape the world in our own image, never realizing that each of us carries the potential to do evil as well as good.
“The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either—but right through every human heart,” Solzhenitsyn wrote in his masterpiece The Gulag Archipelago. “And even in the best of all hearts, there remains…an uprooted small corner of evil.” . . .
