IS OBAMA STABBING ISRAEL IN THE BACK? (Updated)

Power Line  "That’s what Anne Bayefsky thinks:"
Over the course of a week in which the president spoke frequently on the subject of Iran, one message stood out. By vociferously arguing that his administration’s brand of diplomacy is realistically capable of ending Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, and that views to the contrary are irresponsible war-mongering, Obama is attempting to undermine the legality of an Israeli strike.
.... "Bayefsky reminds us that the Obama administration has been saying for years that time is running out for the mullahs to demonstrate that they are not building an offensive nuclear capacity. These are just two of the examples she cites:"...
"If Israel can’t wait until November, then presumably it will call Obama’s bluff, take whatever action is necessary, and count on the overwhelming support of American voters. It is true, as Bayefsky says, that Obama’s insistence on the viability of diplomacy implies that any action by Israel would be “illegal” under international “law.” But if the crisis comes, Obama will fall into line. Not to do so would lessen his chances for re-election."

Does the president really ‘have Israel’s back’?  "At a time when Iran is defying IAEA inspectors and is closer than ever to a nuclear weapons capability, robust investment in Israeli missile defense would help reassure our ally that it has the no-kidding backing of the world’s most powerful military.
"Increasing funding to improve these programs would send a strong, reassuring message to all our allies, not just Israel. It would signal that being on the side of the U.S. is a winning proposition. For Iran and the rest of our foes, the message would be: aggression against a U.S. ally means it must also contend with the U.S.
"But the president did not increase funding to Israeli missile defense programs in his FY 2013 budget. He halved it."....
"The president needs to demonstrate his commitment to Israel in practical ways. Paying lip service in an election year doesn’t cut it."

'We hid this during the election': Latest Breitbart tapes debut

Thomas Lifson  "The first of the posthumous Breitbart tapes debuted last night on Hannity, and today on Breitbart.com.  You can tell the left is concerned by the fact that:".
....
"Breibart promised before his death to finally vet Obama. What the mainstream media will never admit is that the public persona of Obama they have collaborated in producing is a mere facade. We live in uneasy times, leading to skepticism about whether we are being told the truth. Certainly the public overwhelmingly distrusts the media.
"The agenda inherited from Andrew is to reconstruct an image of Obama that makes sense to people better than the image of a basketball-loving guy with a great smile and sense of humor. The fact is that Obama has spent his adult life marinating in the sewage of race hatred and class envy spewed by the left, relentlessly.
"There is more to come. The predicate has been laid."

Wind farms in Pacific Northwest paid to not produce

Cowboy Byte  "Wind farms in the Pacific Northwest — built with government subsidies and maintained with tax credits for every megawatt produced — are now getting paid to shut down as the federal agency charged with managing the region’s electricity grid says there’s an oversupply of renewable power at certain times of the year."  Hat tip to Tom Williams; Merced, Ca.

Senate sends message to Obama on Keystone

Politico  "Thursday’s squeaker of a Senate vote on the Keystone XL pipeline serves both as a warning to President Barack Obama that a majority of both houses of Congress supports the pipeline and as encouragement to Republicans to keep pushing the issue.

"Obama had personally lobbied Senate Democrats with phone calls urging them to oppose an amendment to the highway bill that would fast-track the Canada-to-Texas oil pipeline. And as it turned out, he needed every bit of their help.
"In all, 11 Democrats joined 45 Republicans to support the pipeline. Only the fact that 60 votes were needed for passage saved the White House from an embarrassing defeat."

Bruce [Springsteen] Says New “Wrecking Ball” Album Is Pure Leftist Propaganda Meant To Promote #Occupy Movement, Obama

Pat Dollard  "Speaking to a group of journalists at the Theatre Marigny in Paris, Springsteen described how the financial crisis, income inequality, and other hot-button political issues informed Wrecking Ball, which paints a picture of an America that has failed the working class.
" “My work has always been about judging the distance between American reality and the American Dream–how far is that at any given moment,” Springsteen said. Judging by the album’s tenor, he believes the gap has only become wider in recent years."

From the comments to this post: "A multi millionaire complaining about "income inequality". What a hypocrite."

‘EVERYTHING’S COOL’: LIMBAUGH SAYS MEDIA REPORTS ABOUT HIS ADVERTISERS ARE MISLEADING  "Well, even if the number is miniscule, these companies are still sending a message, right?
" “Yes, they‘re putting out statements because they’re hoping to make political gains — and it’s gonna backfire,” Limbaugh assured. “You can look at the stock price of some of these companies. I’m not gonna say any more, but it’s going to backfire.”"
