Candace Owens Challenges Fact-Checker, And Wins

 Daily Wire

“I wanted to show that these fact-checkers just lie, and they usually go unchecked because most people don't have the money, don't have the time, and don't have the platform to go after them — and I have all three.”

"Conservative author and commentator Candace Owens challenged left-leaning fact-checking site PolitiFact, a partner with Facebook, over a “false” rating — and won.

"Not only did PolitiFact remove their “false” rating and retract an article on why Owens’ video was allegedly false, but the site offered an added “correction” admitting their fault.

"Owens’ video, which was posted on Nov. 12, offered commentary on the 2020 presidential election, and was captioned, “Joe Biden is literally and legally not the President-elect. So why is the media pretending he is?”

"The video was hit with a “false” rating, and, as noted by Owens, theoretically, every single person who shared the post was alerted by Facebook that they had shared “false” content.

“ 'Weeks ago, [Facebook] censored a post of mine which truthfully stated that [Joe Biden] is NOT the President-elect. So I got lawyers involved,” she said Saturday via Twitter. “Conclusion? [PolitiFact] uncensored the post & admitted that they LIED by rating my post false. The fact-checkers are lying for Democrats.”

"The note from PolitiFact reads as follows:

Correction: PolitiFact originally labeled this video false in our capacity as a third-party fact-checker for Facebook. On Nov. 20, an appeal to that decision was made on behalf of Ms. Owens. PolitiFact approved the appeal on Nov. 20, determined that a correction was appropriate, and removed the false rating.

Biden Cabinet And Transition Picks Already Facing Serious Ethics Questions

"Considering the fact that the team Biden is building is filled with Obama-Biden administration retreads, it’s safe to predict that his pledge to run “the most ethically rigorous administration in American history” will be about as reliable and honest as Barack Obama’s promise to voters to run the most transparent presidential administration in American history – and we all remember how that turned out."

Legal Insurrection  "Back in late September, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s transition team was hailed by the mainstream media for releasing an ethics plan that, according to Politico, was “designed to make it harder for lobbyists to work on the transition effort.”

"The website also reported at the time that “the rules are broadly similar [to] those put in place by President Barack Obama’s transition team 12 years ago.” For example:

They “bar those who’ve worked as registered lobbyists or foreign agents in the past year from working on the transition unless” Jessica Hertz, the transition team’s general counsel, signs off on the arrangement. “They also forbid transition staffers from working on any ‘specific Transition matter’ that they’ve lobbied on in the past year or plan to lobby on in the coming year without Hertz’s approval.”

"An overview of the Biden transition team’s ethics plan document states that “the Plan aims to ensure that Transition team members abide by the highest ethical standards, act solely in furtherance of the public interest, and base all policy and personnel decisions on merit, free from individual conflicts of interest.”

"Just two months later, Biden is proceeding with the transition process even as the Trump campaign’s legal challenges are still playing out in the courts. But as the New York Times reportedSaturday, some of Biden’s picks “for top posts have done work for undisclosed corporate clients and aided a fund that invests in government contractors,” which is already prompting ethics concerns:

Letters to the Editor: The Big Biden Lie

Biden’s promos spew pure “pablum,” vague aspirations, obvious hypocrisy. Americans have reason to be afraid — of “affordable” universal health care, of socialism, of hypocrisy. To paraphrase another prominent Democrat, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, We actually have more to fear than fear itself.

The American Spectator

"Lie Big or Go Home

"If I could vote in the upcoming election, I would most certainly vote for Donald Trump, just to stick it to all those free-speech-stifling people who identify as Democrats. I keep my mouth shut when I’m around these people, not just to avoid being shunned in the circles I travel in and by my own husband, but also because I’m a green card holder who doubts most American citizens would appreciate my perspective because I haven’t earned it.

"People automatically assume that Canadians abhor Donald Trump, and by and large they are right — although I suspect that he’s probably hugely, HUGELY popular in our version of America called Alberta and rural British Columbia, and many other rural provincial pockets.

"Watching how easily Joe Biden was propelled to victory by the Democratic apparatchik and

realizing that the next president of the United States could be a woman who didn’t even break the glass ceiling on her way to the Resolute desk doesn’t sit well with my sense of ethics. It’s staged, contrived, deceitful (throw me some more adjectives). I admire authenticity.

"All the major news outlets don’t seem to have a problem with the Dems robbing people of legitimate choice. Lately I’ve started talking back to NPR while I drive around Florida’s Gulf Coast. I hear NPR hosts boasting about how their news outlet prides itself on including all views, and I’m shouting at the dashboard: “No you aren’t! How often do you even interview Republicans or non-academics? All you talk about is Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ community, and COVID-19. You supercilious idiots think you’re smarter than everybody else!' ” . . .

Steal the House?

Power Line  "Paul notes below several razor-close House races, including especially Iowa 2, where the Republican candidate, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, is leading by six votes.

"Prediction: if Miller-Meeks is certified as the winner, House Democrats will refuse to seat her in January, so desperate are they to secure every possible House seat they can. Can they do this? Yes—because House Democrats have done this before. Back in 1984, in what became known as “Indiana’s bloody eighth.”

"This refers to Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, where, in the 1984 election, the Republican candidate, Richard McIntyre, who was challenging a Democrat incumbent, trailed narrowly on election night but was certified as the winner by 34 votes after a recount (and a second recount put him up by 400 votes). But the House Democratic majority refused to seat McIntyre in January 1985. Democrats voted to keep the seat vacant pending further “investigations” into the vote count. House Dems appointed a three-member select committee, consisting of two Democrats and one Republican, to look into it, and, citing “irregularities,” the full House voted on party lines in April to seat the Democrat incumbent, despite Indiana’s official certification of the Republican McIntyre as the winner. Democrats rejected Republican proposals to have a special election to settle the matter.

"It was a naked partisan power grab, wholly unnecessary given the large Democratic House majority at the time (238-177). Does anyone think Democrats won’t resort to this again, with a majority so tiny that they won’t be able to pass resolutions memorializing National Orange Juice Week?" . . .

Joe Biden Suffers Multiple Fractures to His Foot While Playing With His Dog

Earl of Taint

Townhall  "Biden's transition team revealed the former vice president suffered multiple hairline fractures to his foot after he reportedly slipped and fell while playing with one of his dogs on Saturday. The 78-year-old politician will likely need to wear an orthopedic walking boot for the next several weeks, according to his doctor.  .

"While most politicians campaign intensely for the presidency, Biden largely avoided the campaign trail in what became known as the candidate's basement strategy.

"To ward of concerns over his physical health, the Biden campaign had the candidate ride a bicycle in front of reporters. Biden's fall should renew concerns over the candidate's physical health.

"During the campaign trail, Biden also made a large number of bewildering statements, repeatedly lost his train of thought, forgot important details like where he was, what office he was running for, and confused his wife for his sister.

"If inaugurated, Biden will become the oldest president to be inaugurated in U.S. history." . . .

Biden’s Injury From Falling While Playing With Dog More Serious Than Initially Thought

“Follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden‘s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot,” O’Connor later said. “It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks.”

A former Andrew Cuomo aide writes that her ex-boss is an awful human being. Language warning

Andrea Widburg   "Even though New York governor Andrew Cuomo presided over the single largest number of COVID-19 deaths (mostly elderly people dying alone), the media was obsessed with his warmth, compassion, intelligence, and sexiness. Conservatives were unimpressed. Their view was just confirmed by a former aide claiming that Cuomo is mean, self-centered, and unprincipled.

"It’s almost certain that COVID-19 death statistics in America are wrong. However, if you accept them the way leftists do, the statistics for COVID-19 deaths in America show that New York state was America’s COVID-19 slaughterhouse. As of November 27, New York’s 34,443 deaths account for 21% of the total number of deaths in the ten states topping the American mortality list. It’s easy to blame Cuomo because he insisted on placing people diagnosed with COVID-19 in old age homes.

"Despite this track record, the media doted on Cuomo. He wrote a book boasting about his stewardship of New York and received a special Emmy for being an excellent spokesperson for his own wonderfulness. A singer named Randy Rainbow even put together a clever “cuomosexual” music video.

"Speaking of the “cuomosexual” theme, Alexis Grenell, Cuomo’s one-time aide, wrote a scathing piece at The Nation: “The Collapse of the Cuomosexual: St. Andrew of Covid, our savior of the spring, is now milking his 15 minutes of fame for an extra 30.” Her starting-point is a recent press conference during which Cuomo yelled at the media for daring to seek clarity about the state’s policies regarding school closures." . . .
