Thank you President Trump – Speech at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference

'Obama's Abandonment of America'
"I was out sick yesterday so I was unable to write today’s column for the Jerusalem Post. I did manage to watch President Obama’s speech on the Middle East yesterday evening. And I didn’t want to wait until next week to discuss it. After all, who knows what he’ll do by Tuesday?
"Before we get into what the speech means for Israel, it is important to consider what it means for America.
"Quite simply, Obama’s speech represents the effective renunciation of the US’s right to have and to pursue national interests. Consequently, his speech imperils the real interests that the US has in the region – first and foremost, the US’s interest in securing its national security.
"Obama’s renunciation of the US national interests unfolded as follows ..."

. . . "From 1994-1996, as an IDF captain, I served as Coordinator of Negotiations with the PLO in the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. In this capacity I was a core member of Israel’s negotiating team with the Palestinians.

"In 1997 and 1998 I served as assistant foreign policy advisor Binyamin Netayahu during his first stint as Prime Minister.

Although I spent most of my free time hiking in New England, it did not escape my attention that much of the faculty at the Kennedy School was not particularly fond of America, (Alinsky’s organizing methods were taught in a required first year course for MPP candidates) — or of Israel.
"The latter truth was exposed for all the world to see when my former professor Steve Walt co-wrote the updated version of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion with his friend from my childhood hometown – University of Chicago’s John Mearshimer.

"After I finished graduate school I returned to Israel and began writing at Makor Rishon newspaper, (Hebrew). I served as chief diplomatic commentator and edited magazine supplements on strategic issues for Makor Rishon until 2007.
"In March 2002, I accepted the position of Deputy Managing Editor of The Jerusalem Post. At the Post I write two weekly columns. These columns are regularly syndicated. My current title is Senior Contributing Editor." . . .

Alabama Senate Special Election – JONES wins

Legal Insurrection

"AP and networks have called the race for Jones at about 10:25 p.m. Eastern.

"Moore led most of the night, but Birmingham (Jefferson County) was late reporting, and when it did, it swung the election. Jones won Jefferson County with about 70% of the vote.

"There will be hot takes galore. Here’s my “quick” take:

"Moore never could recover from the allegations of sexual abuse of a 14 year old and 16 year old. While he did manage to cloud the issue, with an assist from Gloria Allred, it wasn’t enough in the end. The polling showed Moore with a pretty solid 3-4% average lead, but the polls were off in what certainly was a hard to poll special election.

"While this was a candidate specific loss, it certainly will be spun as part of a wave that started in Virginia and will be a precursor of the midterms. It also means that the Trump agenda is on the ropes, with just a single vote margin next year. Tax reform needs to pass this year (since Jones will not be seated until next term), or it may not get done. You probably can forget anything else big getting done before the midterms, not with McCain and Collins and a couple of others who barely vote with Trump."

See how the UK Daily Mail words this headline:
Accused pedophile Roy Moore LOSES dramatic election as safe Republican state's voters desert Trump's choice and Democrat Doug Jones takes Senate seat
"The Associated Press called the Alabama Senate race for Doug Jones at 9:23 p.m. local time, as the Democrat bested Republican Roy Moore, an accused pedophile.
"For Jones, just having a (D) next to his name meant an extremely steep climb in a state that hadn't voted for a Democratic senator in 31 years – and that man, Sen. Richard Shelby, later changed his affiliation to Republican.
"But Jones was buoyed by a mix of grit and chance – campaigning rabidly through the end, while Moore traveled out-of-state, haunted by accusations that he had pursued and molested teenagers while he was a man in his 30s.
"The election had become bigger than these two men, with President Trump's name – and also that of his former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon – also attached to Moore's name on the ballot. " . . .

One Mueller-Investigation Coincidence Too Many

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley

Victor Davis Hanson
Stacking the deck with anti-Trump staffers is proving to be a really bad idea.
. . . "Something has gone terribly wrong with the Mueller investigation.

"The investigation is venturing well beyond the original mandate of rooting out evidence of Russian collusion. Indeed, the word “collusion” is now rarely invoked at all. It has given way to its successor, “obstruction.” The latter likely will soon beget yet another catchphrase to justify the next iteration of the investigations.

"There seems far less special investigatory concern with the far more likely Russian collusion in the matters of the origins and dissemination of the Fusion GPS/Steele dossier, and its possible role in the Obama-administration gambit of improper or illegal surveilling, unmasking, and leaking of the names of American citizens. The word ‘collusion’ is now rarely invoked at all. It has given way to its successor, ‘obstruction.’

"Leaks from the Mueller investigation so far abound. They have seemed calibrated to create a public consensus that particular individuals are currently under investigation, likely to be indicted — or indeed likely guilty.

"These public worries are not groundless. They are deeply rooted in the nature and liberal composition of the Mueller investigative team — whose left-leaning appointments just months ago had understandably made the liberal media giddy with anticipation from the outset. Wired, for instance, published this headline on June 14: “Robert Mueller Chooses His Investigatory Dream Team.” Vox, on August 22, wrote: “Meet the all-star legal team who may take down Trump.” The Daily Beast, two day later, chimed in: “Inside Robert Mueller’s Army.” . . .

Immigration: Obama had 8 years to fix this, but nooooooo

Illegal Immigrant Found Guilty In Murder Of Family Of Five In San Francisco
. . . "An illegal immigrant from Vietnam faces life in prison after being convicted Monday in the 2012 hammer-killing of a family of five after losing money at a casino earlier in the evening.
"Binh Thai Luc, who had a violent criminal history and was supposed to be deported in 2006, was found guilty in the murders of a family of Chinese immigrants. He was also found guilty of five counts of attempted robbery and two counts of burglary.
"Luc, who was in debt and served an eviction notice, killed the family during a robbery after he lost money at a casino on March 23, 2012.
"Prosecutors said the family kept thousands of dollars in cash in the San Francisco home. Luc had more than $6,500 with him during his arrest. The jury was told that Luc settled his debt after the killings."   Keep reading…

Akayed Ullah, 27, is a green card holder who was part of a large family who appear to have arrived thanks to 'chain migration'  . . . "He had come from Bangladesh in 2011, apparently with his parents and three or four siblings - all of them sponsored by his aunt or uncle, his immigration status showed." . . .
Forbes magazine reported that the United States offers the most economic upward mobility to immigrants of any country. The landscaper at my building told me he is so proud of his twenty-year-old nephew. After only three years in county jail, he finally got accepted into a good gang.  Comedian Argus Hamilton

CNN Does Seven Different Segments About Trump’s Diet Coke Habit

Free Beacon   The Clinton News Network "has done at least seven full segments touching on President Donald Trump's reported love of Diet Coke since Monday.

"The New York Times reported over the weekend on Trump's habits at the White House, which included his indulgent TV-watching and diet. His reported 12 Diet Cokes per day drew significant attention, particularly on CNN.

"Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the network's chief medical correspondent, was interviewed by Kate Bolduan Tuesday afternoon and by "New Day" hosts Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota Tuesday morning about Trump's diet, with emphasis on his soda drinking.

"Gupta also discussed Trump's soda choices and other less-than-healthy dietary habits with Don Lemon on Monday night.

"In addition, CNN's Brooke Baldwin interviewed a board-certified gastroenterologist about Trump's Diet Coke drinking on Monday, complete with a visual aid: 12 cans of the soft drink." . . .

Bear this in mind: STUDY: Over 90% of the Media’s Coverage of Donald Trump Is Negative  . . . "Trump has taken to Twitter often to blast members of the media for their false reporting about his administration and campaign, and the press has become fixated with trying to take down Trump by repeatedly reporting on stories that paint Trump in a negative light." . . .
CNN Goes Insane Over Trump’s Diet Coke Drinking "RUSH: Oh, by the way, you heard the latest? While all the news on the terrorist was being uncovered and reported yesterday, you know what CNN was doing? Reporting on how many Diet Cokes a day Trump drinks. And they even got their in-house doctor, Sanjay Gupta in there to explain how this can lead to dementia. I’m not kidding. You want to hear those bites? I’ve got ’em here. Let’s start with audio sound bite number 13. The indefatigable Brooke Baldwin worried about the Diet Coke consumption of Donald Trump. She’s talking here with gastroenterologist Dr. Samantha Nazareth."
. . .
"Did CNN ever do any stories on how much damage to the brain smoking a few joints a day as a teenager or college student could do? We know that Obama was part of a chum gang, churn gang, choom whatever. He smoked marijuana with his buddies. There have been reports that he’s gone back to it since leaving the Oval Orifice. Did CNN ever do any stories on the consumption of joints and marijuana? Of course not because if Obama does it, it’s wonderful. If Obama does it, it’s great. If Obama does it, no harm can come from it." . . .

Port Authority Jihadist Attack: Why the Rush to Civilian Court?

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

Andrew C. McCarthy
Intelligence agents need to know any information he has that might help us prevent another attack.
"If the New York Times is correct, it looks like Akayed Ullah, the Bangladeshi jihadist whose bomb detonated prematurely at the Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square during the morning rush hour, is going to be charged with terrorism crimes in civilian federal court. He’ll be prosecuted by my former office, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York in lower Manhattan. The SDNY will be working the Joint Terrorism Task Force (mainly the FBI and the NYPD), just as these law-enforcement agencies are working together in the case of Saifullo Saipov, the West Side Highway jihadist who killed eight people and wounded a dozen others by ramming his rental truck into them a few weeks back. Ultimately, this may be the right way to handle the case. But I do not understand the rush to bring Ullah into federal court." . . .

ISIS Message Two Weeks Ago Warned About ‘Christmas in New York’   "Via Fox News Insider:
As Americans were celebrating Thanksgiving, ISIS issued a cryptic message about “Christmas in New York.”
“We meet at Christmas in New York… soon,” the message stated, superimposed over an image of Santa Claus and crowds in Times Square.

The real problem with judging Judge Roy Moore

"I don't know if Moore is a good and decent man, but I do know that he was viewed as such until he became a danger to the Democrats in our nation's capital.  As for the accusations, he hasn't had his day in court, so I think it's only fair to keep from demonizing him until we hear courtroom testimony under oath.  Our system of justice says he's innocent until proven otherwise.  In the meantime, the voters of Alabama will make their decision at the ballot box."   Bob Weir
At odds with the Ramirez cartoon is this Lipscomb cartoon:  Thomas Lipscomb  . . . "No credible woman who has spoken out on Roy Moore yet has claimed he tried to force himself on her when she objected.  And to accept Corfman's allegation, given her account, we have to assume that all contact between Moore and Corfman took place in the less than two weeks before the Court ordered her custody switched to her father.
"Moore had an understandably delayed learning curve.  The teenage years give most of us the time to shake out some bad dating behavior.  And if we're honest with ourselves, most of us can remember some unfortunate experiences we hope others have forgotten.  But Moore thought he had to forage opportunistically, and rough wooing from a man in his 30s left problems young women were not so ready to overlook.  There is nothing abnormal or surprising here.
"The Washington Post's lead reporter breaking these claims against Moore is a big-city Alabamian with a classic leftist résumé, from Pacifica to the World Bank and Columbia Journalism School, as well as a period as a "community organizer."  She is a fine reporter, but culturally, Etowah Country, 40 years ago, is as foreign to her experience as it might be to Barack Obama." . . .

David French: The Comprehensive Case against Roy Moore  . . . "There does exist a fascinating moral question, here: To what extent should we honor undeniably brilliant and important men even after we learn of their profound moral failures? The short answer is that we can certainly honor their accomplishments while still recognizing and condemning their failures. The Declaration of Independence is one of the great documents in world history, yet that doesn’t make Jefferson’s reported treatment of his slaves acceptable or tolerable." . . .

. . . If you accept Moore’s behavior on the bench, you must accept that any judge can defy the Supreme Court whenever he sees fit." . . .

Let Alabama voters judge Roy Moore   . . . "Most of us outside Alabama had never heard of him until 2003, when he was removed from his position as chief justice by a judicial panel for refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument he had installed in the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building to acknowledge the sovereignty of God.
"That made him a national figure, and it also made him a target for every left-wing anti-Christian, anti-Constitution, anti-American values cretin in the country.  Nevertheless, in 2012, Alabama voters overwhelmingly re-elected him as chief justice of Alabama's Supreme Court.  In 2016, he was suspended for upholding the sanctity of marriage as between one man and one woman.  It was then that he decided to seek a U.S. Senate seat in 2017.  That put him in a protracted and bloody war between traditional America and those who seek to redesign the culture into something never intended by the Christian Founders of this great nation."
