NBC's Sharpton Plans Protests In 100 Cities

Big Journalism  "During MSNBC's 11 am hour, above a chyron that read, "More Marches, Protests Planned in Coming Days, Weeks," MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton said that he and his National Action Network are "mobilizing" protests in 100 cities. Sharpton made clear that the protests were meant to pressure the Justice Department into taking legal action against George Zimmerman:"
....
"NBC's Sharpton was one of the first people to turn the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin into a national news story back in March of last year. In the run up to the trial this year, Sharpton has used his primetime MSNBC program, "Politics Nation," to demand Zimmerman be convicted.
"Sharpton achieved national fame in 1987 as the face of the fraudulent Tawana Brawley case and during the Crown Heights Riots, where his role as an agitator is believed by many to have resulted in the mob violence behind the stabbing death of a Jewish scholar visiting from Australia."

Celebrities Disgusted by Zimmerman Verdict

Red Knuckle Politics  Language advisory.
"We all know by now the end result in the trial of George Zimmerman. He was acquitted by a jury of his peers on Saturday night, after 16 hours of deliberation for the death of Trayvon Martin that occurred back in February of 2012. The prosecution failed to show proof or provide any evidence that supported he acted in any other way other than in self-defense, but many in Hollywood and the sports and music world feel quite differently. Just take a look below at many of the super informed and intelligent celebrities and sports players on their take on the jury’s verdict."
Just one of many:

Earvin Magic Johnson         @MagicJohnson
It makes me sick to my stomach that George Zimmerman was found not guilty.

Michael Moore: Trayvon Martin had right to do anything to defend himself
Moore tweeted:

Had a gun-toting Trayvon Martin stalked an unarmed George Zimmerman, and then shot him to death... DO I EVEN NEED TO COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE?
You may enjoy the pushback he gets. Read on...

From Hope n' Change

...."So, what did the president have to say? That the death of Trayvon Martin was a "tragedy for America" (ergo, Zimmerman can't possibly have been in the right) and that "we should ask ourselves if we're doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities." Because asking ourselves meaningless questions about how wide our "compassion circles" are will really, really help bring down the number of bullet-riddled Black Americans turning up in Chicago's morgues."....

Civil war veterans at Gettysburg anniversary in 1913 – in pictures

UK Guardian "1-3 July marks the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg, the battle that many historians cite as a key turning point in the US civil war, which left nearly 50,000 Union and Confederate soldiers dead, wounded or captured on Pennsylvania farmland. In 1913, on the 50th anniversary of the battle, the same fields played host to the largest ever gathering of civil war veterans, where former soldiers from both sides – many in their 70s – returned to commemorate the war."

More on Race in the US since Zimmerman

Thomas Sowell asks, Who Is Racist?  "I am so old that I can remember when most of the people promoting race hate were white.
....
"The moral claims advanced by generations of black leaders -- claims that eventually touched the conscience of the nation and turned the tide toward civil rights for all -- have now been cheapened by today's generation of black "leaders," who act as if it is all just a matter of whose ox is gored."

Allen West: Where was NAACP and media when two black teenagers shot a white baby in the face?   "Allen West accused the NAACP and other race-baiters of cherry picking cases for a political agenda, pointing out that they’ve been silent on two horrible cases where a white family was savagely murdered and a white baby shot in the face by two black teenagers:"
Video at the link.

From Conservative Black Chick:  Zimmerman Trial: Star Witness Rachel Jeantel and the Politics of Soft Bigotry   "As defense attorney Don West grilled Rachel Jeantel, liberal commentators fell all over themselves making excuses for Rachel’s shocking behavior in court and contempt for their process. I can tell you one thing for certain if Jeantel wasn’t black, none of these liberal pundits, especially the white ones would have made excuses for her rude behavior. They would have called it just what it was. . . unacceptable."

War on coal costs Americans real jobs to “solve” a fictional problem

Motor City Times Quoting Heritage:
"If the regulations on the coal industry are allowed to stand, they will almost certainly destroy the coal industry, with predictable, undesirable economic effects on the rest of the country.

"Tomorrow, the President’s speech on climate change will likely discuss the Environmental Protection Agency’s carbon dioxide regulations on new power plants and announce CO2 regulations on existing power plants. Implementing those regulations along with other EPA regulations—such as the utility MACT"

And these words are from Pravda about US liberal policies:
....Never in history, with the exception of the Japanese self imposed isolation in the 1600s, did a government actively force its people away from economic activity and industry.

Remembering the Battle of Dunkirk and the Nazi conquest of Western Europe

The Battle of France "In the Second World War, the Battle of France, also known as the Fall of France, was the successful German invasion of France and the Low Countries, beginning on 10 May 1940, defeating primarily French forces. The battle consisted of two main operations. In the first, ...German armored units pushed through the Ardennes to cut off and surround the Allied units that had advanced into Belgium. When British and adjacent French forces were pushed back to the sea by.... the British government decided to evacuate the British Expeditionary Force ..."

"These photographs are part of a chilling collection of WWII photographs taken by a German soldier in the aftermath of Dunkirk.
"[14 Nov, 2011] on Remembrance Day, they were a fitting reminder of the fields which played host to some of the bloodiest battles of World War One in which 10 million soldiers died.
"The pictures show the lifeless beaches of northern France littered with thousands of allied vehicles left behind following the infamous evacuation."
After years on the Russian front, their boots were not as shiny as this.
...."'The album also shows the respect the soldiers had for each other. One picture is of a British grave and war memorial from the First World War - the German soldiers held the British troops in very high regard.
"'This is a very unusual item so it was very difficult to value - some people will be intrigued by this, others might be a bit shocked.
" 'Either way these never before seen pictures are a unique slice of history'."
Segment of the Frank Capra movie series in WW2, "Why We Fight"
"Why We Fight: "Divide and Conquer" (ca. 1943) Part 5 of 6 "

Also this: Pathe newsreel of Dunkirk.

The BEF was saved by a major Nazi blunder at a crucial moment:

The Wormhoudt massacre was the mass murder of 80 British and French POWs by the Waffen SS during the Battle of France in May 1940.

And in his second volume on World War Two, Their Finest Hour, in the chapter "Back to France", page 141, Winston Churchill records the British Army losses in equipment:

Lost at Dunkirk: the 51st Highland Division was part of the rearguard assigned to protect the soldiers being evacuated. They and the other units assigned had orders to surrender to the Germans at the last minute to allow most of the British Army to embark.
The 51st was reconstituted around the few units that escaped and fought throughout the war and into Germany. Here is film of the 51st Highland marching through the streets of Bremerhaven, Germany in 1945:

The kilted soldiers of the Black Watch Regiment were called "The Ladies From Hell" by the Germans.
Nobody, but nobody can parade like the British. Let's hope that will continue after they finish their transformation to an Islamic republic.

Urban Legend: "Recognize This Guy?" Email showing a photo claiming to be of gangsta-tattooed Trayvon Martin

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet. Here is the photo purporting to be of Trayvon along with excerpts of the erumor:

...."Not a single paper has printed RECENT photos of this kid...because...it would not keep your interest in this case... Not a single paper will admit that this kid was a marijuana dealer...his friends on facebook all say he had the "best plants"...not a single paper will show you any of his recent photos where he shows off a mouthful of gold teeth....all of his tattoos...not a single paper will tell the news...the facts like they truly are...Our President Obama...looked at the FIVE year old photo the media chose to show the Nation...and said..."If I had a son...he would look like Trayvon" So from that comment...should I assume that he did not bother to look for the facts in this shooting..or should I assume that he wants a son who is a 17 year old drug dealing, gold teethed thug whose name on one of his facebook profiles was "wild nigga"...who 'finds" jewelry and burglary tools on the way to school ?"....
Truth or Fiction reports on this as fiction.
"The man in the photo is Jayceon Terrell Taylor. He is a rap singer from Compton CA who goes by the moniker of "The Game".

"Taylor is 15 years older than Martin and after the incident the rap singer was very outspoken to the media about how he felt that this was a racial hate crime.  It is possible that someone confused his photo for that of Tayvon(sp) Martin.
"The photo began circulating on the Internet shortly after the May 7, 2012 arraignment where the 2nd degree murder charge was brought up against George Zimmerman.  The 17 year old Martin was shot and killed on the streets of Sanford, Florida by George Zimmerman, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of second degree murder.  Zimmerman maintains that he shot Martin in an act of self-defense.  Zimmerman remains in custody awaiting trial after his bond was revoked.

"The photo below is from a recent album cover by the rap artist known as "The Game" showing the same tattoos on face, neck and right hand that appeared in the forwarded email:"
