The Leech Dismount

Ann Coulter

"Trump's been called a lot of things in recent years, but I'm going to call him something new.

"First, a refresher. In 2015, the Republican Party was on life support, with a "Do Not Resuscitate" order pinned to its chest and a priest called to administer last rites. Voters kept telling the party they wanted less immigration, less tax-cutting and less warmongering, but the GOP kept giving us more immigration, more tax-cutting and more warmongering. (For a detailed account of this state of affairs, see my columns and books -- they make great Christmas gifts -- free shipping for Amazon Prime members!)

"Only when all other treatments had failed did we turn to an ancient medical treatment: the leech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Donald J. Trump. There was no greater leech in all the land!

"No insult intended. Leeching is a time-honored medical tradition, dating back to the Stone Age, for every conceivable ailment -- an overabundance of peccant humors, convulsions, flatulence, scarlet fever, pleurisy, inflamed eyes and diseases of the throat, to name a few. Even today, leeches are the best treatment, as I understand it, for certain anticoagulant purposes. But because they are worms and bloodsuckers, not all patients find the treatment especially tasteful.

"Trump was our parasitic worm.

"Though any doctor will tell you leeching rarely works, the next time you hear someone say we didn't get anything from Trump, I respectfully suggest you reply: "I've got five words for you: Gorsuch. Kavanaugh. Coney F---ing Barrett."

"True, the only reason we got them is that neither Jared Kushner nor Kim Kardashian had any interest in the judiciary, so the Federalist Society picked Trump's judges without interference. Albeit completely by accident, the leech still gave us a generation of solid Supreme Court justices. If that sounds like cold comfort, please recall that we just lost the Senate, and barely won the House by the skin of our teeth.". . .More...

Portland's Antifa 'Justice' Strikes Again

PJ Media

"A Portland “anti-fascist” activist has been found not guilty of being a fascist by roughing up a journalist and stealing his phone because he didn’t like what the reporter said about his Antifa friends. After the Portland judge let off the notorious Portland Antifa attacker, he delivered a lecture to the victim, reporter Andy Ngo.
"There’s your justice, Portland.

"Ngo sought justice in court for three-and-a-half years against John Hacker, one of a mob of activists that has made a point to follow, chase, hassle, and attack Ngo multiple times.". . .

Trump-Backed Kevin Kiley Puts Republicans over Top to House Majority as Number 218   . . ."Republican Reps. Mike Garcia (R-CA), David Valadao (R-CA), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) are still ahead in their races, which could extend the Republican majority to 221 if each is successful.
"House Republicans on Tuesday nominated GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be Speaker of the House; he earned 188 votes compared to Rep. Andy Biggs’ (R-AZ) 31 votes.
"McCarthy has until January to secure the 218 vote threshold required for him to be elected as speaker.
"With the majority in their control, Republicans will have control over the various House committees, which play an essential role in investigations.
"McCarthy has already spoken with top House Republicans about coordinating investigations across committees, including a probe of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
"McCarthy also encouraged ranking Republicans currently sitting on House committees to send letters to Biden administration agencies asking them to turn over or preserve
Documents.". . .

Revolver  "There’s no way to sugarcoat it: that wasn’t what we were hoping for.
"The GOP went into Tuesday’s midterms with elevated, even exuberant hopes. And they should have. Joe Biden was a barely functional nullity with 40 percent approval. Inflation was at 40-year highs. Stocks were tanking and unemployment was rising. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was a calamity. Public schools were flooded with sickening tranny propaganda. Murder was up by a third nationwide. That was all more than enough to engineer a big midterm win. Even Democratic pundits seemed to think a shellacking was inevitable. There was talk of Republicans adding thirty, forty, even fifty seats in the House, to go along with 54 senators, or even more.
"That didn’t happen. On Monday, Republicans were fantasizing of a Don Bolduc upset in New Hampshire; he lost by 10 points. Promising Republican House candidates like Bo Hines lost, and the GOP even lost several incumbents on its way to a narrow House majority.
"There is certainly good news as well. Lauren Boebert looks likely to survive an election night scare. We are very happy to see J.D. Vance pick up a well-deserved win in Ohio. Ron Johnson once again fended off a tough challenge in Wisconsin. Beto O’Rourke and Stacey Abrams are hopefully finished as national political figures. Kari Lake has good odds to pull off her race for Arizona governor. And, of course, Ron DeSantis’s systemic demolition of the Florida Democratic party is an inspiration to the entire country.
"But still, it wasn’t a red wave, let alone a “red tsunami.” Going into Tuesday night, there were four true toss-up Senate races — Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona — and the GOP needed only two of them to win a Senate majority. As of this writing, Pennsylvania is lost and Georgia headed for a runoff with Raphael Warnock favored. The GOP may still win the Senate. But the most likely outcome is it will not, and the time to mentally accept that possibility is now.". . .

"John Fetterman has a suit and will wear it to the Capitol," Katz tweeted. "He is still recovering from a stroke and has lingering auditory processing challenges. The way Hill reporters are used to yelling questions at Senators will not work here."

New York family of woman slain by angry ex moves to sue state over cashless bail laws

The Post Millennial

Tammy Hudson, the mother of the victim, said, "(Hochul) should be charged for the crime. She’s also responsible for the crime."

"The family of a slain upstate New York mom-of-three are considering suing Governor Kathy Hochul and local authorities as the woman was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend less than a day after he was put back on the streets via cashless bail."The family's lawyer, John Froman, told the New York Post, "The family feels authorities dropped the ball here, resulting in a heinous violent act and the murder of a daughter, sister and grandchild.". . .

". . .If bail reform was not in place, this individual would have never been released," Froman said of the incident.

"Adam Bennefield had a prior conviction for kidnapping a different ex at gunpoint.

"Keaira Bennefield had begged police and authorities for help before her murder. He was charged with second-degree murder after reportedly gunning the mom down in front of her kids.

" 'Bennefield pleaded not guilty to murder, aggravated criminal contempt and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child during his Oct. 21 arraignment," according to the Post.

"Froman is weighing his options for a wrongful death suit that could extend past Adam Bennefield to include local law enforcement and possible state authorities, such as Kathy Hochul.

The 2022 Harold Stassen Awards For Special Political Losers

Chronic loser.

The Lid Blog.  "For those who don’t remember or have never watched The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,  because Minnesota’s Harold Stassen lost so many times, he was a regular target of Carson’s jokes. Therefore this award will go to politicians whose careers of losses were very special, just like Harold Stassen. In fact, these losers are so bad it’s embarrassing.

"In a unanimous vote between me and my computer, the 2022 Midterm Stassen award winners were Beto O’Rourke, Stacey Abrams, and Charlie Crist.". . .

Beto O’Rourke   "Beto wins the award for the most diversified loser. He did win three elections for the House of Representatives in the house from 2012 to 2018. After he left congress in 2020, his political career went into the toilet. He ran for Senator, President, and Governor. Now that he lost the Governor race, the only things left are dog catcher and condo board treasurer.

"After he left congress in 2020, Beto’s political career went into the toilet. He lost two state elections and one national contest.

"O’ Rourke lost a campaign for the U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz in 2018, but his three percent loss to the incumbent gave Beto confidence to run for political office again. He ran for political office again. Beto ran for the Democratic Presidential nomination. No, really, it’s not a joke. This imbecile thinks he could be President.

"Since then, Beto’s only impact on the country has been reminding people to visit their dentist."

Stacey Abrams.  "The winner of the 2022, It’s Not My Fault Award is Stacey Abrams, the two-time loser from the state of Georgia. ". . ."Because Abrams used her race as a straw dog, she insisted that Kemp didn’t win the election it was stolen through suppression.". . .

Charlie Crist. . ."As a Republican, Crist ran for the U.S. Senate and lost in 1999. Crist served as the Republican Governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011,  He tried for the Senate again for the 2010 Republican primary. When he saw that Marco Rubio would beat him, Crist became an independent but still lost in the general election. Three years after he left the Governor’s office, Charlie became a Democrat and trashed  Republicans as racist because the voters preferred Latino Marco Rubio over caucasian Methodist Crist.". . .
"There is one more question left for Crist. Which party line will he run on next time?"

Too Rotten for the Nation’s Good

"On the subject of John Fetterman, the woke media outdid itself and will now pay the price."

The American Spectator   "There are few places where today’s cultural rot is more gangrenous than in legacy journalism. This has been such a problem for such a long time it hardly seems worthwhile drawing attention to it. Imagining that half the country doesn’t care and the other half has given up, it is easy to slip into despair about it and just accept it.
"But, thank heavens, Leighton Woodhouse, writing in the Tablet, has brought our attention back to it, writing with a lucid and burning urgency about the case of the compromised media and John Fettermen.
"Fettermen is the Democrat candidate for the Pennsylvania Senate seat that the Republican incumbent vacated. He suffered a serious, debilitating stroke several months ago. Choosing not to drop out of the race, Fettermen avoided public appearances and mounted a fairly effective campaign, hidin’ out of sight and bidin’ his time, just as Old Joe did, and let the corrupt media cover for him.
"The best thing for all would have been that Fetterman recovered, and fully; in this savage age, let’s hold on to our decency. The best for us all would be a campaign in which the competing ideas would be fairly and clearly set out and we would win because our ideas and our programs are better.
"But the world being what it is, Fetterman is still seriously impaired. Whether he is able to take on the responsibilities of the job he aspires to still is a question that concerns a large percentage of voters.
"And because a truthful answer to that question seems increasingly likely to lower Fetterman’s chance of winning, that large percentage of the legacy media decided that the truth must be concealed, and that those who try to reveal it should be destroyed.
"So when NBC News’ Dasha Burns reported on Fetterman’s cognitive impairment as if it was a legitimate interest, she was given the woke takedown that has become all too familiar.". . .

Caught in the act: Archives show MSM outlet stealth-edited attack on DeSantis

 D Parker

. . .

After Tuesday's stunning election results, the state's political transformation is now nearly complete, from deep purple battleground to crimson landscape, an ideal launch pad for Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential aspirations.

"Did you notice anything?  A decided difference from "crimson hellscape" to "crimson landscape" without any notation of the change.  You can check the links yourself and verify the information.  It wouldn't surprise us to see another version cropping up, one with a stealth edit trying to absolve them of the previous stealth edit.  We shall see.

"Why is this important?

"If the nation's socialist media are going to play fast and loose with the facts with something like this, what else are they going to do, or what else have they done?

"Remember that NBC News decided to play the same game with a report on the attack on Paul Pelosi.  You can be sure that we're not going to get the full story on that case.

"The archives work as well as expected, and it's important that we all participate in protecting our constitutional republic by keeping an eye on the national socialist media and archiving their content.  But all of this highlights the severe need to create another aspect of the "parallel economy."

"We're not entirely sure of the ideological underpinnings of the operators of both of those sites.  However, there have been times when the Internet Archive has operated in a confounding manner — especially when sites of the fascist far-left are being documented.".
