The oldest known selfie - 1836

Guilty Fix
"We spend so much time learning about the past – all of the great people, thinkers, and moments – that it’s only natural to romanticize it.
"But some recently discovered historical photos suggest that perhaps the past was stranger than you think."

The Demonization of Christianity

Townhall

"When a white supremacist murdered black parishioners in Charleston, SC, there was national outrage leading to the banning of the Confederate Flag and a fresh discussion of race relations in America. But when Christians are targeted and murdered on a campus in Oregon, much of the nation yawns.

"According to eyewitness reports, the Oregon shooter asked students what their religion was, and if they said “Christian” he shot them in the head. Yet the secular media, for the most part, is focusing more on gun laws than on the shooter’s alleged anti-Christian motivation. Why?

"Can you imagine what would have happened if the shooter went into a creative arts class, asked the students to declare their sexual orientation, and if they said “gay” shot them in the head?" . .  .  Full article here.

More examples of Obama's failures in foreign policy

Putin’s Air Strikes in Syria Are Merely the Latest Example of the Obama Doctrine’s Failure
"If the humiliation of the Obama administration continues at this rate, by this time next week you should expect to see Secretary of State John Kerry on all fours at the United Nations, getting paddled by the Russian foreign minister and shouting, “Thank you, comrade! May I have another?”

"On Monday, President Obama and Vladimir Putin had a meeting at the United Nations. All Putin wanted from it was a photo of the two men huddling together. The Russian president needed to show his people that he’s still a major player on the world stage, a big man driving events. Obama, who spent much of the last year trying to isolate the butcher of Ukraine, gave Putin exactly what he wanted. In wall-to-wall coverage, Russian media celebrated the big man’s diplomatic triumph and his geo-strategic genius.

"What was Obama’s price for granting Putin this PR windfall? The leader of the free world made the Russian autocrat listen to another tedious lecture about how Putin doesn’t understand his country’s interests as well as Obama does. No doubt Putin would have preferred to avoid yet another seminar on how the world should work. But if Paris was worth a mass for Henry IV, no doubt Syria (and not just Syria) was worth yet another sonorous tutorial about the moral arc of the universe doing jobs our president won’t." . . .

Joint Tsk-Tsk Issued to Russia as White House Official Argues Putin Is Bombing Out of Position of Weakness

Clackamas: when a massacre was stopped by a gun.

Clackamas -- the Oregon Massacre a Gun Stopped
. . . "Overlooked in the news coverage of the Umpqua shootings was the Oregon massacre that wasn’t at Clackamas Town Center Mall in December of 2012. As Investor’s Business Daily noted, fortune placed a good guy with a gun at the same place a bad guy with a gun planned a massacre:
Before the tragedy in Connecticut, a shooter at an Oregon shopping mall was stopped by an armed citizen with a concealed carry permit who refused to be a victim, preventing another mass tragedy.
In the target-rich environment of the Clackamas Town Center two weeks before Christmas, the shooter managed to kill only two people before killing himself. A far worse tragedy was prevented when he was confronted by a hero named Nick Meli.
As the shooter was having difficulty with his weapon, Meli pulled his and took aim, reluctant to fire lest an innocent bystander be hit. But he didn't have to pull the trigger: The shooter fled when confronted, ending his own life before it could be done for him.
We will never know how many lives were saved by an armed citizen that day.
. . . "So enough of the exploitive rhetoric, President Obama. Ever since Cain slew Abel, there has been evil in the world and a desire among some to kill others. Disarming the law-abiding to prevent such killings is like trying to fight drunk driving by making it harder for sober drivers to get driver’s licenses. We don’t need more gun-free zones populated with unarmed targets. We do need more people able to defend themselves.

"There was no such person in Roseburg, Oregon, but there was one at Clackamas, Oregon."

Is Mayor DeBlasio a Socialist? Look what happens under his government

Shall We Call Bill de Blasio a Socialist?  (2013)
"Let us consider the reasons, pro and con. In favor:
1) He is one.
2) He called himself one.
3) There is no evidence of an ideological shift.
4) He supports the Sandinistas who are socialist and admit it.
5) He supports ACORN, Occupy, the New Party, and the Working Families Party, which are socialist and don’t admit it.
6) Honesty is the best policy.
7) American democracy works best when people know what they’re voting for.

Against:
1) Calling him socialist may cost him the election: bad for Democrats.
2) Calling him socialist may not cost him the election: even worse for Democrats." . . .

You elect a socialist, you get this:

Even Art Work Has Racial Quotas Now

. . . "This bigotry is even affecting what paintings are being hung on the walls. It would be insensitive to hang a white person’s painting if there wasn’t a minority’s also, they now say.
This is happening in all levels of the government nationally. Segregation is wrong, everyone knows it’s wrong, but even so, they are segregating whites. Future decisions won’t be made on the quality of work but on the race of the creator or employee."
. . .
. . . "Most people aren’t looking at race when they look for a doctor or an economist or a teacher, they’re looking for quality. They want the best, not the best Eritrean.

"We now make educational, housing, and other legal decisions based on “disparate impact” and call it fair. Disparate impact states that a policy is considered discriminatory if it has a disproportionate “adverse impact” against any group based on race, national origin, color, religion, sex, familial status, or disability when there is no legitimate, non-discriminatory reason.

"So, if the end result is not in favor of a protected class, even if there is no evidence of discrimination, it’s discrimination. Whites are not a protected class but everyone else is.

"In 2009, the White House established another monstrous big government agency, the Office of Urban Affairs, to do exactly this sort of thing." . . .

All mass shootings since the 1950s have one thing in common

Unfortunately, many liberals already know the facts but continue to rely on their fickle emotions to further endanger innocent civilians. It’s time for the gun-runner-in-chief chastise them for clinging to their beliefs and our guns.

Mad World News

. . . "By studying mass shootings in the U.S. over the last 60 years, Dietz found that all but two took place in gun-free zones, that is, designated areas where it is illegal for anyone to carry a firearm.
Not only did Dietz find that these zones were hotbeds for gun violence, but public schools in which all staff are unarmed, as was UCC, were prominent targets.

"Dietz concluded that arming a minimum of 10 percent of faculty in schools, along with a resource officer, would decrease school shootings by roughly 70 percent. If the U.S. would have adopted this policy, nearly three-quarters of students and staff murdered by shooters could still be alive today.

"Dietz’s extensive research takes into account four main scenarios involving an active shooter:

• Scenario 1: No access to control or security.
• Scenario 2: Resource officer
• Scenario 3: 5-10 percent of work force has concealed carry
• Scenario 4: 5-10 percent of work force has concealed carry and a resource officer

"However, the research didn’t just pertain to gun-free zones. Dietz disproved the liberal complaint that more firearms equals more violence, citing that the firearm ownership increased by 61 percent between 2004-2012, yet there was a reduction in violent crime by 12.9 percent since 2008." . .  .
