WSJ: You Know, Joe Biden's COVID Plan Sounds Awfully Familiar

Biden and Democrats' entire strategy depends on our ignorance and shallowness. Biden names the list Trump has completed as his own plans and we are ready to admire his intelligence and thereby vote for him. TD

Joe who?
Townhall  "Picking up on a theme that the Trump campaign has been advancing for months, the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal noted over the weekend that for all of Joe Biden's complaints about the Trump administration's COVID response, the 'better' course of action the Democratic nominee is recommending actually hews rather closely to what the incumbent's team has already done -- and is currently doing.  We've already fact-checked some of the Biden-Harris ticket's claims and comparisons regarding Coronavirus. This editorial adds some additional color and context:

The Democratic nominee is promising a better virus strategy, which would be wonderful if he had one. But the virus plan he’s pushing is little different on the substance than what the Trump Administration is already doing...Mr. Trump’s virus policy in practice has been better than his critics claim, and Mr. Biden isn’t offering better ideas. Start with testing. Mr. Biden promises to “develop and deploy rapid tests with results available immediately.” Great—the Food and Drug Administration in the past week has approved two new rapid tests that can be scaled up quickly. The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention botched the initial testing rollout. And earlier this summer, shortages of chemical reagents and lab equipment led to delays in processing tests amid a surge of infections. But supply-chain hiccups are gradually being worked out. The U.S. is now conducting 700,000 or so tests a day, up from about 400,000 in early June and 100,000 in late March...
Mr. Biden is also calling for “a coordinated, country-wide, future-facing national effort to acquire, produce, and distribute PPE, test kits and machines, lab supplies, and other critical supplies, including by fully utilizing the authorities” under the Defense Production Act. The Administration is already doing nearly all of this. The Pentagon this spring issued $259 million in contracts to 3M, Honeywell and Owens & Minor to produce tens of millions of N95 face masks for medical workers. U.S. companies like GM and New Balance have retrofitted plants to produce ventilators and PPE, and the Administration has used the Defense Production Act to allocate more tests and protective equipment to hot spots. Mr. Biden wants to hire 100,000 federal workers to track down contacts of people who get sick. States are already doing this, though public-health officials say contract tracing is of little use when the virus is widespread in communities.

“The soft bigotry of Joe expectations.”

Power Line  The estimable James Lileks—the third greatest living Minnesotan after John and Scott—has come up with the perfect one sentence slogan about the hapless nominee of the Democratic Party: “The soft bigotry of Joe expectations.” File that one away and use it often.
. . .
I thought sure this headline was from The Babylon Bee, but no, it is a true news story:
"Please nobody tell Joe Biden. He’ll add this to his national mask mandate that he doesn’t have the constitutional power to impose, but what’s a little piece of paper when there’s a pandemic."
Biden is no more of a unifying figure than Obama or Bush (I’ll concede on Trump). There is no reason to believe he would do for unity what these two presidents didn’t.  . . ."In fact, there’s good reason to believe that America would be even more divided under Biden than it is now. Biden has tilted far to the left. If he were to govern that way, resistance would (and should) be fierce. If, instead, he were to move towards the center, he wouldn’t even be able to keep the Democratic Party united. Nor would (or should) Republicans unite behind a center-left presidency." . . .

Downright Dishonest Democrats Week at Legal Insurrection. Take the House and Senate away from Democrats!

Rep. Pressley fans the flames of violence. Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley Calls for “Unrest in the Streets”
Legal Insurrection

"Over the past week, Democrats and others on the left have lied and distorted the truth repeatedly.
"The list goes on and on.
"The Democrat convention was weak.
"What they didn’t show you.
"Trump is in better shape than Democrats and the media will admit.
"Shut up.
"The unhinged left rages on."

Too Much Green Power Worsening Blackouts

Tony Branco
California Political Review  "The wave of power outages in California during the heat wave of 2020 are mostly in the PG&E power grid area where 21 local green energy-buying cooperatives (called Community Choice Aggregators) are buying green power and green jobs for their communities. These co-ops buy power for 10 million customers in 170 cities and counties and their goal is 100 percent green power by the 2030’s.
"California depends on 25 percent imported power, mainly hydropower, from other states. However, the grid operator has been unable to buy much imported power during the regional heat wave. The only remedy for this problem is a diverse mix of power sources with green power no more than 20 to 30 percent of the mix. This heat wave shows the folly of shifting to 100 percent green power during hot spells.
"Even Gov. Gavin Newsom has been forced to admit green power falls short and blames planners. But the power grid has been deregulated and decentralized to allow local communities to buy their own power, resulting in a lack of diverse enough power sources during hot weather.

"Source of Power Outages Claim to be Unknown

"The New York Times of August 16 reports that “Rolling Blackouts in California Have Power Experts Stumped.” Bill Powers, a San Diego power engineer stated, “This should not have caused blackouts.”
"The technical reason for the rolling blackouts was the California Independent System Operator (Cal-ISO) could not find enough power reserves from out-of-state hydropower suppliers after three in-state power plants had to shut down and wind power dropped as it typically does during the daytime.
"The reason for the high demand for electricity is obviously the heat wave combined with humidity that spiked the temperature to 130-degrees in Death Valley. This resulted in a Stage 3 alert where mainline electric utilities had to ask customers to curtail use or they would start cutting power by rolling blackouts. The ISO asserted it was not grid congestion or downed power lines from wildfires, but a true lack of available power plants to come online when other plants failed, causing the shortage.
"Contributing to the blackouts was that California depends on 25 percent of imported power from other states, mainly hydropower to reduce smog in air basins. But the entire southwest was hot leaving little surplus power available.

America's leading white supremacist announces his surprise endorsement

Andrea Widburg "One of the most revolting things about Joe Biden's candidacy is his dishonest insistence that Donald Trump called white supremacists "fine people."  Democrats have successfully used this hoax to brainwash large parts of the American public into believing that Trump and his supporters are racists and anti-Semites.  One wonders, therefore, how much consternation there is in Biden campaign headquarters now that Richard Spencer, one of America's best known neo-Nazis, is all in for Biden.
"To fully appreciate what should be one of the biggest stories in the presidential campaign, there are two things you need to know: (1) who Richard Spencer is and (2) what the "fine people hoax" is.
Richard Spencer
"Richard Spencer is an unapologetic neo-Nazi.  He's frequently seen giving Nazi salutes, quoting Nazi propaganda, and making openly anti-Semitic statements.  He thinks Haitians should be re-enslaved and that racial minorities should be removed from America.  Not surprisingly, his wife has accused him of verbal and physical abuse.  He is a terrible human being.
"Spencer organized and was a featured speaker in at an August 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.  That fact brings us to the...
Fine People Hoax
"Spencer was in Charlottesville in August 2017 for a Unite the Right rally that saw neo-Nazis parading through the streets shouting anti-black and anti-Semitic slogans.  The reason that the neo-Nazis descended on Charlottesville was that the town was contemplating pulling down a famous statue of Robert E. Lee.
"The debate over the statue meant that Charlottesville saw a convergence of Black Lives Matter–supporters, white supremacists, people who opposed the Confederacy but who also objected to willy-nilly tearing down signs of America's history, and people who were curious about the whole event. While the protest was at its height, James Alex Fields, one of the white supremacists, drove his car into a crowd, killing Heather Heyer.
"Because the media had already tarred Trump as a racist based upon his promise to enforce existing laws regarding America's southern border, they naturally asked him about the events in Charlottesville.  Trump expressed his concern about deconstructing America's past — comments that proved to be remarkably prescient when one looks at the Black Lives Matter and Antifa madness in June and July." . . .

Scott Adam’s Epic Rant Excoriating Biden For His “Fine People” Race Card Hoax

Bookworm Room

"On Aug. 20, Joe Biden gave a short acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination.  So low were expectations that when Biden managed to get through the speech without drooling on himself or forgetting where he was mid-sentence, the MSM deemed it a great success.  It should be noted though, that about half-way through the speech, Biden went as low as one can go, playing the race card, accusing Trump of promoting racism at Charlotte, N.C. three years ago:
. . . Just a week ago yesterday was the third anniversary of the events in Charlottesville.Remember seeing those neo-Nazis and Klansmen and white supremacists coming out of the fields with lighted torches?  Veins bulging? Spewing the same anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the ’30s?Remember the violent clash that ensued between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it?Remember what the president said? There were quote, “very fine people on both sides.”It was a wake-up call for us as a country. . . .
"This is pure bulls**t.  And in an epic rant, Scott Adams, who has been screaming for years about the patent falsity of this hoax, calls Biden on it in no uncertain terms." . . .

The video below is near 15 minutes long and well worth the time to listen.
