Flustered Adam Schiff Tries to Squirm Out of His Debunked Steele Dossier Comments

Townhall
As Guy also pointed out, Schiff is pretty much the last person to lecture anyone on lies surrounding Russian collusion.

"Joining The View as a guest host on Tuesday, former State Department Spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus confronted Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) over his actions to further the lies contained in the Steele Dossier and he didn't do well trying to explain why his advancement of Russian disinformation is different from what he accuses others of doing.
" 'You've been really prolific over the past few years being the head of the Intel Committee," Ortagus noted, "and you defended, promoted, you even read into the Congressional Record the Steele Dossier — and we know last week the main source of the dossier was indicted by the FBI for lying about most of the key claims in that dossier."
"Due to the recent revelations that confirmed what most already thought about the origins and credibility of the dossier, Ortagus asked Schiff: " 'Do you have any reflections on your role in promoting this to the American people?"
"As Glenn Greenwald pointed out, Ortagus' question was the toughest Schiff has received for his role in perpetuating literal fake news.:
Notable that Adam Schiff -- who appears on every CNN, MSNBC and Sunday morning network news program as often as possible -- just had his first truly adversarial questioning about his pathological Russiagate lies not on any of those networks but from Morgan Ortagus on the View.

The Gathering Storm and Its Historic Precedent, Part One – Nazi Germany

News With Views   . . ."There are powerful forces at work, far more powerful than we can possibly know, who are influencing anyone in a position of authority. History is repeating itself.  What we saw in the 20th century is again rearing its demonic head in the 21st century.

"Hitler’s burgeoning power seemingly happened in a short period of years, yet strategy and planning were years ahead of the regime change and “insurrection.”

"The parallel tactics used by the Third Reich (1920s through the mid-1940s) in today’s America are startling.  Hitler could have been stopped, but only a small contingent of German people truly understood his demonic intentions and the depravity and evil he had planned. Not until he genocidally murdered 13 million, and nearly half a million American soldiers perished, did this ungodly evil end.

"Unless you first recognize evil, it will continue to have power and cause destruction.  Is America banal regarding the evil facing us; has she caved to the tentacles of treachery and turned a blind eye?  At all costs, even unto death, we must stand and fight and it must be done now!". . .

From being a world leader in energy, we turn to begging the Saudis for oil.

John Kerry says US 'won't have coal' by 2030   . . ."The U.S. would likely need to retire most, if not, all of its coal plants to meet Biden’s nonbinding goal for the country to generate entirely carbon-free power by 2035. There would also be little role for coal if the U.S. achieves Biden’s pledge to the U.N. as part of the Paris agreement to cut emissions economy-wide in half by 2030."...

Biden Puts Another Pipeline On The Chopping Block

. . . “ 'The Army Corps of Engineers is preparing an environmental impact to look through this,” Jean-Pierre said in a press briefing, after denying reports that President Joe Biden is preparing to revoke the Canadian pipeline’s permit — as happened to the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office.

"A new environmental impact under this administration, however, is often a precursor to the project’s cancellation. Jean-Pierre said the study would “help inform any additional action or position the U.S. will be taking on the replacement of Line 5.”

"Politico broke the news Sunday that the White House was actively surveying the market consequences of a shutdown. The Line 5 pipeline operated by the Calgary-based energy company Enbridge transports about 540,000 barrels of crude oil and other petroleum products per day from western Canada through Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsula. The pipeline begins in Superior, Wis. and ends in Sarnia, Ontario."...

Must-see Tucker Carlson video about the cause of America's woes

"Things are not going to get better in the short term.  They're going to get a lot worse until voters speak out loudly against the madness and politicians (and ideologue-run corporations) really take notice.  Currently, leftists are insane, and, subject to some notable exceptions (Marjorie Taylor Greene being one), Republicans are enabling them."
Andrea Widburg   "People are beginning to realize that something is wrong with America's ruling class, and by "people," I don't mean people like you, who are actively engaged in politics.  I'm talking about people who want nothing to do with politics or people living in prosperous leftist enclaves who haven't been forced to think about what's happening to less affluent Americans.  To the extent they're sitting up and taking notice, Tucker Carlson's monologue perfectly explains what's going on at the upper reaches of American government.  The bottom line is that Biden knows he's out of control, and, in his fear, he cedes his power to dangerous ideologues.

"Regarding the fact that ordinary, apolitical, non-political, or reflexively Democrat people are waking up, I have two brief anecdotes.  I'm a sociable person, and I value friendships, so I have relationships with people who run the gamut both age-wise (young to old) and politically (left to right).". . .

. . . "Unfortunately, his handlers are unchained ideologues.  A good government tries to benefit its people and ensure the greatest prosperity and happiness for the greatest number.  A government filled with ideologues is so focused on its utopian visions that it is willing to destroy the people to "save" them." . . .

Where John Durham’s Investigation Is Heading

 Andrew C. McCarthy

"Reading the tea leaves, it appears the special counsel’s end game is something other than a sweeping indictment."

"Last week's indictment of Igor Danchenko has the commentaria buzzing. If special counsel John Durham has cracked the core of the Russiagate case, if he has established that the Steele dossier on which the FBI substantially based its spy warrants was fraudulent, does that mean he is nearing a sweeping conspiracy indictment? Will there be criminal charges that target the real 2016 collusion — not between the Trump campaign and Russia, but between the Clinton campaign and U.S. officials who abused government investigative powers for political purposes?

"Almost certainly not.

"All signs are that Durham will end his investigation with a narrative report. It has looked that way for a long time. There are reasons why then-attorney general Bill Barr appointed then-Connecticut U.S. attorney Durham as a special counsel shortly before the Trump administration ended.

"Unlike ordinary federal prosecutors, who either file charges or close investigations without comment, special counsels are required by regulation to write a report for the attorney general. As we saw with special counsel Robert Mueller’s report in 2019, there is typically great outside pressure on the AG to make such reports public (though doing so is not required). Barr obviously knew enough about Durham’s investigation to grasp that there was unlikely to be a grand, overarching criminal-conspiracy case; there had, however, been rampant malfeasance and abuse of power that might never come to light absent a comprehensive investigative report". . .

Granholm’s ‘Shock’ Aside, US Energy Dominance Is Exactly Where Biden Wants It — Weakened

Daily Caller

"When U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was asked a direct question about skyrocketing gas prices, her response was as telling as it was disappointing. Instead of offering middle-class Americans an explanation or an apology or a sliver of hope, she let out a hearty laugh.

“ 'Oh my…that is hilarious! As you know, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel, that cartel is called OPEC, and they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase [production] beyond what they were already planning.”

"How did America fall so far, so fast on the topic of energy? How, in less than a calendar year, did we go from energy independence to begging foreign cartels like OPEC for more supply? We went from net-exporting our oil to hoping that someone will help fill gaps in our energy supply.

"If Secretary Granholm and President Biden want to find those responsible for putting us at the mercy of a cartel, they need to look in the mirror.

"Of course, it didn’t have to be this way.  The greatest country in the world shouldn’t have to rely on the “generosity” of countries who – for the most part – hate everything we stand for." . . .

Vaccine Mandates – What’s the End Game?

https://www.terrellaftermath.com/

Brian C. Joondeph, M.D.  "Once upon a time, President Joe Biden was against vaccine mandates. As president-elect in December 2020, he was asked, "Do you want vaccines to be mandatory?" His answer at the time seemed clear, "No I don't think it should be mandatory, I wouldn't demand it be mandatory." But that was then, and this is now.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agreed.

"Last April, when asked about vaccine mandates, she made her position clear, "So—so here is the thing. We are—we cannot require someone to be vaccinated. That's just not what we can do. It is a matter of privacy to know who is or who isn't."

"Yet here we are, with Big Brother issuing this new edict,

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued an emergency temporary standard (ETS) to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the workplace. The ETS establishes binding requirements to protect unvaccinated employees of large employers (100 or more employees from the risk of contracting COVID-19 in the workplace.

"Their rationale is to protect workers from themselves, “Unvaccinated workers are much more likely to contract and transmit COVID-19 in the workplace than vaccinated workers.' ”. . .

Biden’s vaccine order is about power, not health

Vax mandates are an unhealthy thing for our democracy and represent a willful effort by government to exert additional control over an already cowed population. There is a direct line between the Patriot Act, mass surveillance, and vax mandates that claims “it is all for our own good” when it is more broadly for our own bad. This is about politics, not medicine.

Protecting Pravda; Media censorship is really monopoly protectionism—and the “unfair competition” is you.

..."The Pravda media then creates the duplicitously monikered “fact checkers” and other internal mechanisms to brand your speech as disinformation that is unsafe for public consumption." ...

American Greatness    "It is bitterly ironic how America’s current corporate media embrace censorship—for others, of course. After all, the First Amendment’s recognition and protection of the unalienable right to free speech and the freedom of the press have long been rightly and ardently defended by those making a living in the industry. Their rationale was elementary: an attack on the free speech of one citizen was an attack on the free speech of all citizens.

"Today, however, many of the most strident voices for censorship and self-censorship—including calls for the First Amendment to be radically curtailed—come from the left-wing, spoon-fed, regime-succored Pravda media.

"What changed? Some, rather charitably, believe the Pravda media are enraptured with their regressive leftist ideology—which must be proselytized and protected at all costs, including the adoption of “accountability” (read “biased”) reporting—which impels journalists to ditch objectivity. This in turn spurs demands for both censorship and self-censorship to dispense with ideological inconveniences, such as facts and truth.

"But in actuality, it is best to recall the cardinal rule of politics: follow the money. When one does, the Pravda media’s ignoble motive manifests: censorship is their protectionism.

"Protectionism is usually implemented to preserve manufacturing industries, like automobiles and steel. The industries claim to be economically pressed by what they declare is unfair foreign competition, and demand the government provide subsidies, tax breaks, and/or barriers to market entry for their unfair competitors through tariffs and other policies to protect their jobs and profits. The politicians who support these policies are rewarded with endorsements, contributions, votes, etc." . . .
