Trump's behavior during Hurricane Idalia was appalling –

 HotAir

Trump has been spending this time comfortably ensconced in New Jersey while DeSantis has been doing the hard work of governing–governing so well that even Democrats are praising his efforts.

"Trump’s superpower is his outspoken aggressiveness, and his kryptonite is his petty self-centeredness.

"Unfortunately, he married the two during Hurricane Idalia and behaved like an ass.

"I wavered on writing this post because I didn’t want to wade too deeply into presidential politics while riffing on a natural disaster, but since Trump spent the last 72 hours blasting Governor DeSantis while he was actually doing a superb job making the lives of Floridians better I have to comment.

"Starting a couple of days ago it was rumored that Trump sent out the word that he didn’t want any of his supporters to do anything that might make DeSantis look good–including sharing public announcements about the storm. I didn’t bother to write about it because it may have been propaganda to make Trump look bad, although subsequent searches of Trump’s followers showed that even Trump’s Florida-based influencers were remarkably silent about the storm as it crashed into the state.

"It sure looks like Trump sent out the word to stay quiet. But perhaps they decided to do this on their own.

"But there is no question about Trump’s actions themselves. The guy sent out tens of “Truths” attacking DeSantis throughout the storm, producing a hurricane of invective aimed at the governor as he spent 20-hour days working to mitigate the damage.

"Trump dumped over 30 videos of himself on Truth Social since the hurricane hit. About himself and his campaign. He even spent a good amount of time specifically attacking DeSantis–including about the hurricane itself–while DeSantis was dealing with the storm and its aftermath." . . .

Keith Olbermann says Riley Gaines 'sucked at swimming,' inciting online spat

Washington Examiner   Liberal podcaster Keith Olbermann blasted swimming champion and OutKick host Riley Gaines for her support of a Nebraskan bill that defined sex as biological.

Gaines took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to applaud Gov. Jim Pillen (R-NE) on formulating a "Women's Bill of Rights" in an executive order on Wednesday. The order clarifies that "a 'female' is an individual whose biological reproductive system is developed to produce ova."

"THAT is leadership," Gaines wrote of the order. "Thanks for implementing [the Independent Women's Voice's Women's Bill of Rights] and protecting nearly 1 million Nebraskan women. The tide is turning."

"Can you just address the reality and move past it?" Olbermann responded to a post from Gaines on the subject. "You sucked at swimming. That's why you lost."

"Ah, makes sense now why you got fired from ESPN," Gaines replied. Olbermann hasn't worked for the sports network since October 2020." . . .

Look at this Keith!

AOC gets (gently) questioned about her border hypocrisy

"The Tunnel Dweller only attacks me because he knows he can't date me!"

HotAir   "The NY Times published a new interview with AOC, which was pretty clearly prompted by a piece written by Freddie deBoer for NY Magazine last month. It was titled “AOC is just a regular old Democrat now.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent appearance on the Pod Save America podcast had, for me, the feeling of a final disappointment, the kind that’s a little sad but brings a set of quixotic hopes to a close. AOC appeared on the popular Crooked Media show to announce her endorsement of Joe Biden for president in the 2024 election. To deliver that particular endorsement while appearing on that particular podcast — where former Obama-administration staffers define the limits of acceptable left-of-center opinion — was to send a very deliberate message. It was AOC’s last kiss-off to the radicals who had supported her, voted for her, donated to her campaign, and made her unusually famous in American politics, the beneficiary of a wholly unique cult of personality that is now starting to come
undone.

"When I wrote about that story I highlighted these images from 2018 when AOC was just an unknown candidate.

Tucker Carlson Warns We Are Speeding Toward the Assassination of Trump

We can comment on the silliness of CNN, but no outlet can match MSNBC for narrow-eyed venom and sheer hatred in the persons of Joy Reid, Joe Scarborough, and Donny Duetsch.
The Western Journal.  Tucker Carlson has reached a conclusion that must also have occurred to many of us at some point since 2020.
"Appearing on “The Adam Carolla Show” on Tuesday, Carlson noted that the years-long trajectory of persecution against former President Donald Trump has only one logical end.
" 'We’re speeding toward assassination, obviously,” Carlson said.
Carlson offered this shocking observation as an answer to a question from Carolla about the future. “Are they going to let Trump be president?” Carolla asked.
"Without identifying who “they” might be, Carlson began by reviewing the history of opposition to Trump. The former president’s enemies have subjected him to insults, protests, multiple impeachments and now four separate indictments. Meanwhile, Trump’s popularity has grown.
“ 'So if you begin with criticism, then you go to protest, then you go to impeachment, now you go to indictment, and none of them work, what’s next? I mean, graph it out, man,” Carlson said before making his assassination prediction.
"To be clear, Carlson did not say that an assassination would happen. But he did say that assassination represents the logical conclusion to a relentless campaign of destruction.

. . .“They’re savage animals. They are people that are sick — really sick,” the former president said.

Why don't they employ Keith Olbermann? He was born for that channel. TD

Has the regime finally given the green light to get rid of Biden? -

Revolver News    "The Biden administration is clearly on some very shaky ground right now. The popular theory is that Dems are using Republicans as a tool to take down Biden. They realize that winning in 2024 with Biden at the top of the ticket, even with another wave of sketchy mail-in ballots, is a long shot. The latest scandal is a big one. According to National Archives, Biden sent over 5,400 emails using secret accounts during his vice-presidential tenure, apparently to facilitate he and Hunter’s foreign money hustle. Now, a new very intriguing rumor is making the rounds in the Swamp that could be the ultimate downfall for the Biden Boys. According to Newsmax, there’s evidence that confirms Biden’s guilt beyond any reasonable doubt. Greg Kelly says there’s a video that will end Biden’s 2024 campaign. So, as these scandals continue to pile up the question on everyone’s mind is: have Dems finally given Republicans the green light to oust Biden?

"Here’s what Collin Rugg, the co-founder of Trending Politics had to say about this recent development:

BREAKING: Newsmax host Greg Kelly claims an audio tape containing “incontrovertible evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption” exists and will be released to the public in the coming weeks.

Big if true.

Kelly claimed the audio tape is so explosive that it will force President Biden to drop out of the 2024 race.

“I am told by people in the know… that there is incontrovertible evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption that is about to be made public,” Kelly stated.

“He will not be able to remain a candidate for the presidency for reelection. It will be over and done with.”

“They’re worried about it right now at the White House.”

"Newsom on deck?"

CNN Sinks To All-Time Low To Defend Biden (msn.com)

"Right on cue, CNN came rush to the defense of President Joe Biden’s “routine” summer vacation in preparation for “workaday realities” in Washington, D.C. amid “Republican backlash.”

In reality, Biden has set an all-time record by vacationing 40% of the time while in office. In just 2.5 years in office, Biden has vacationed for an entire year." . .

“Heading home from Lake Tahoe on Saturday, President Joe Biden exchanged a week of waterfront seclusion for the more workaday realities of running the country from Washington.” (Poll: Is CNN ‘Fake News’? VOTE)

“ 'With the vacations usually comes criticism,” the left-wing network continued. “For Biden, the harshest attacks came following the Maui fires. Although he quickly signed an emergency declaration and worked to marshal federal resources, a ‘no comment’ when questioned about the death toll on the beach led to days of Republican backlash. (The White House later said Biden couldn’t hear the question.).”. . .

Who’s above the law? How about Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton and BLM rioters, for starters

Consequently, federal officials telling pleasant fictions about no one being above the law only serve to highlight the distance between the elites and the people, between stated aspirations and ugly truths.

Who's above the law? How about Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton and BLM rioters, for starters - Washington Times    "Recently, we have had to endure a series of reminders that “no person is above the law” from a batch of folks, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Republican Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio.

"But that is not really true, is it?

"There are many, many people who are and have been, at least so far, above the law. Here’s a very short list:

• Hunter Biden, and the “big guy,” aka President Biden, assuming he really did profit from whatever Hunter was doing with the communist Chinese, the Ukrainians or the Mexicans.

• The honorable Hillary Clinton.

• The FBI agents who offered whatever wound up being necessary for the FISA court to issue warrants to surveil the Trump campaign in 2016.

• BLM rioters/“mostly peaceful” protesters.

• “Mostly peaceful” pro-abortion protesters, either picketing outside the homes of Supreme Court justices or tossing the occasional firebomb through the windows of a pregnancy center

• The folks who gave you the wholly fabricated Steele dossier.

• The 5 million people who have crossed the southern border in contravention of American law since Mr. Biden became president.

• Everyone in the Bush administration who was absolutely certain and completely wrong about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

• Everyone in the Obama administration involved in the extrajudicial killing of an American citizen (Anwar al-Awlaki).

• Everyone who has committed or is committing crimes that local district attorneys in places like New York City, Philadelphia and Los Angeles don’t feel like prosecuting.

• Medical professionals who perform gender-transition surgery on those too young to give consent.

• The federal government teams at Ruby Ridge or the Branch Davidian ranch near Waco, Texas.

"So, it turns out that quite a few people are above the law.

"Maybe everyone who is busy telling us no one is above the law have other folks in mind."

Apparently, Not All Black Lives Matter

 Ann Coulter (townhall.com)

But media coverage that reflected reality wouldn't keep the nation in a panic over the imaginary scourge of white supremacy. Bashing whites is more soul-satisfying than treating black people like adults. Also, ginning up black hatred of whites helps create more exciting crime stories for journalists to report!

"Let's be honest: As far as the media are concerned, most black lives don't matter. Only in the tiny, infinitesimally small percentage of cases when a black person is killed by a white guy do the media sit up and take notice.

"Thus, while there was blanket coverage of a white racist 21-year-old (mentally ill, it hardly needs mentioning) who killed three black people in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, the families of Khaaliq Williams, 16, Hamza Ali Omar, 18, Allan Howard, 34, Ashuntice Wilburn, 17, RayJohn Harshaw, 14, and Brandon Hatcher Jr., 24, mourned alone.

"Those are just some of the black Chicagoans murdered two weekends ago in one single city in an area comprising about 14 square miles.

"Am I cherry-picking by going back two weeks? No, I just wanted to wait for more information on some of the murdered black people whose deaths the media weren't interested in covering.

"The wildly atypical killing in Jacksonville has already generated hundreds of thousands of stories on Google. The New York Times alone has run about dozen stories on those three black victims -- with more to come!"...
