Kavanaugh: Hope for the best but prepare for the worst

Townhall
Twitchy: "‘Aaaaaaaand SCENE’! Is THIS why Dianne Feinstein’s been so cagey about Christine Blasey Ford?; UPDATED" . . . "Fair enough. But we’re not terribly inclined to give Dianne Feinstein the benefit of the doubt on anything. She certainly hasn’t extended that courtesy to Brett Kavanaugh." . . .

‘I do not recall the party’: Witness to alleged Kavanaugh incident sends statement to Judiciary Committee
Why Mark Judge’s Statement on the Kavanaugh-Ford Situation Is Ultimately Meaningless  . . . "All of this is to say that if Judge, the named lone witness to an alleged assault from decades ago, thinks he can just say he doesn’t want to testify and Congress will be satisfied he may need to think again." . . .

The Differences in Late Accusations Against Kavanaugh and Thomas  . . . "The late-breaking allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in some ways mirrors the explosive claims preceding Justice Clarence Thomas’ confirmation in 1991, legal experts say. At the same time, the two matters are strikingly different.
“ 'Democrats are hoping to return to a time of leveling attacks at the nominee, not for discussion of their judicial approach, but last-minute allegations and character assassination,” said Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director for the Judicial Crisis Network." . . .

Political Cartoons by Pat Cross

You can’t convict a person for being just the type.  . . . "That things like what is described in Ford’s letter “happened all the time” is, I’m sure, true. That it’s “all too consistent with stories” that people heard and their lived experience is also, I’m sure, true. But the questions is whether Brett Kavanaugh did something like this. Evidence that stuff like what he’s accused of happened to many people, or that prep-school guys like him always get away with things like this, is not evidence against Brett Kavanaugh. " . . .

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Calls Kavanaugh Hearings a ‘Highly Partisan Show’

Grassley Suggests No Last-Minute Hearing Without Accuser Testimony  . . . "There is a growing possibility Ms. Blasey-Ford, with the help of like-minded resistance members, manufactured the accusation under the auspices of resisting a supreme court nomination “by any means necessary”. One theory surrounds one of Judge Kavanaugh’s friends, Mark Judge, who wrote a book describing his abuse of alcohol going back to High School.  It is possible from that tenuous connection Ms. Blasey-Ford and her allies then constructed a story based loosely on details outlined in the book.

"Under this scenario, the entire accusation becomes a professional Democrat political ploy using the “MeToo movement” to shield the accuser from scrutiny of her claims. Given the toxic political climate of the current resistance movement; and with knowledge of how far the DNC apparatus is willing to go in constructing lies for political benefit; there is just as much likelihood this entire episode is a political fabrication." . . .

Project Veritas Bombshell Video Exposes “Resist” Socialist Employee Inside State Department

Project Veritas
Video shows State Department Management and Program Analyst, Stuart Karaffa, discussing how he uses his time working for the U.S. government to further the efforts of the Democratic Socialists

"A newly released undercover video shows a State Department employee bragging about how they use their time at the agency to organize for the D.C. chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
"Investigative journalism organization, Project Veritas, released a shocking video Tuesday, which shows State Department Management and Program Analyst, Stuart Karaffa, discussing how he uses his time working for the U.S. government to further the efforts of the Democratic Socialists.
"According to Project Veritas, Karaffa is heavily involved in the political campaign efforts of DSA in both Washington D.C. and Virginia.
"When an undercover Project Veritas journalist asks if he does work for the Democratic Socialists while at the State Department, Karaffa replies, “Oh yeah. I mean I do, and I’m careful about it. I don’t leave a paper trail, like I leave emails, and like… Any press s**t that comes up I leave that until after 5:30. But as soon as 5:31 hits, got my like draft messages ready to send out.' " . . .

. . .  "The footage of Karaffa ends with the State Department employee saying, “resist everything…every level. F**k s**t up.”

"Project Veritas founder, James O’Keefe, says his organization has been investigating the Deep State for over a year, and claims his undercover cameras have caught “conspirators admitting to violating their ethics reports, illegally using government resources and subverting government policies.”

"According to their press release, Project Veritas will release other videos of their investigation into the Deep State."

Washington Times: His first target is Stuart Karaffa, a State employee and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. He sits at a restaurant table, sipping a drink and talking to two O’Keefe undercover agents.

Deep state on camera  . . . "American tax dollars at work, supporting hard-left politics in government.
James O'Keef; Project Veritas
"This video, the first in the undercover investigation that O’Keefe and company are planning to carry out, showcased an employee of the federal government bragging about his resistance, doing political work on the government dime, and admitting that it’s unlikely he will be held accountable for it, especially since his political affiliations are rubber stamped.
"The employee interviewed, Stuart Karaffa, admitted that he has both engaged in radical socialist political activities when he was working (and being paid on the taxpayer’s dime), and that he has advocated for resistance to official government policies.
"In the video, it seemed clear that Karaffa’s main loyalties didn’t lie with his employer, or with the United States government, or even with the Department of State.
"Rather, they were with the Democratic Socialists of America, an extreme left-wing political party he is a member of.
. . .
"He also admitted that he spent his time in the office watching political affairs in Virginia, which he utilized as co-chair of the DSA electoral caucus in DC.
"His talk certainly made it appear that he knew he was doing something wrong, possibly even illegal, though he didn’t seem very concerned about the consequences of his actions.
"He said that maybe someday he would end up going to jail at the behest of the board of elections, or maybe not.
"Karaffa didn’t believe that anyone at his work was aware of what he was doing, nor did he seem concerned about facing censure or penalties at work.
"The socialist outright declared that there was nothing for him to fear, as it was “impossible to fire federal employees,” a complaint that taxpayers have voiced for decades."

Sources who defend Kavanaugh

Yes, this all represents one side, just as the MSM - especially CNN and NBC- as well as TV talk shows, Hollywood, Academia and too many others attack this president and his personnel choices in government. At times Trump's brashness and ill-chosen, sometimes rude comments are reprehensible, but he is all that stands between us and the vindictive left. The likes of Maxine Waters, Hillary, Harris, the Schumer/ Pelosi faction of Congress, masked Antifa mobs with their bats and bike locks have torn our nation apart. They must be resisted and my posts are nothing more than a feeble response to them.
As Lincoln said of the much-criticized General Grant, "I can't spare this man; he FIGHTS!"
The Tunnel Dweller

Sen. Lindsey Graham Questions Validity Of Sexual Assault Allegations
. . . “ 'I think it’s part of a pattern. They can’t beat him on the law so they are trying to destroy his life. If a conservative had edited a tape of a liberal nominee to the court where you – they take the words and turn them upside down, they tried to suggest that judge Kavanaugh used the word or term ‘abortion-inducing drugs’ when it was the plaintiff, the priests for life,” he began." . . .

Bill Maher said the Kavanaugh accusations "make us all look bad".

Judge Kavanaugh Meets His Anita Hill  . . . "After the Democrats prattled on about not having all of Kavanaugh's documents, here was the self-righteous Feinstein, withholding a document until all else failed to derail Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court.  Liberals insist that all accusers be deemed credible and heard, but they forget about the presumption of innocence and the right of the accused to confront his accuser.  Kavanaugh deserves that right and might yet get it, but in the meantime, we know that for Democrats, the politics of personal destruction is not dead." . . .

Jeff Flake Says Kavanaugh Nomination Should Be Delayed; Ann Coulter TORCHED Him With Brutal Tweet
"Hey Jeff Flake: Sure, let's postpone the vote so we can hear her "repressed memory" from 35 years ago. Here's MY repressed memory: You as a Republican."

Dianne Feinstein's Mind-Boggling Decision

"("Some Democrats said they don't have to wait for President Trump to pick a Supreme Court nominee – they're voting 'no' regardless of who [sic] he names.")"

The real Christine Blasey Ford  . . . "Arizona's own lame-duck senator, Jeff Flake, will not vote Judge Kavanaugh out of committee till they hear from Ms. Victim.  Maybe Sen. Flake can also ask the FBI to look into the polygamy practiced by his deceased forbears just so everyone can feel self-righteous.  After all, there seems to be no statute of limitations now."

Democrats' sleazy attack on Kavanaugh comes from an old playbook
. . . "Do the Democrats keep a steady supply of female accusers, adjusted as to age, geography, and possible chance of having met the subject, ready and set to be called on as needed, depending on which nominee, from which part of the country, the Republicans happen to choose?" . . .

Kavanaugh's ordeal shows the depravity of the rabid left  "Is there no depth to which leftists will not sink to demonize those with whom they disagree?  Unable to lay a hand on Brett Kavanaugh throughout the judiciary committee hearings, despite some of the rudest, most uncivil questioning on record since the Bork and Thomas hearings, now they've turned up a woman to play Anita Hill, a woman willing to prostitute herself on the pyre of leftist dreams of advancing their agenda through the courts."

Grassley says Judiciary Committee hasn't heard back from Kavanaugh accuser
. . . " 'We have reached out to her in the last 36 hours, three or four times, by email, and we have not heard from them," Grassley said. "So it kind of raises the question, do they want to come to the public hearing or not?' " . . .

Kavanaugh's accuser and the curious George Soros links

Washington Times

"Look at what’s going on with Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation proceedings for the Supreme Court, and the fingerprints of George Soros are all over it.
"First there was a report from June in the Daily Caller that found “a new political advocacy group that vowed to put $5 million behind an effort to stop … Kavanaugh’s confirmation has significant ties to the liberal financier” Soros.
"What are those ties?
"The group, Demand Justice, established in 2018, gets its money from the Sixteen Thirty Fund — and the Sixteen Thirty Fund received roughly $2.2 million from the Open Society Policy Center, one of Soros’ outlets, between the years of 2012 and 2016.
"And Demand Justice’s entire mission is to advance a progressive agenda through the courts." . . .
. . . Kavanaugh’s personal reputation, prior to Ford’s accusation, has been stellar.
“I’ve been friends with Brett Kavanaugh for over 35 years, and dated him during high school,” said Maura Kane, in a statement to the media. “In every situation where we were together, he was always respectful, kind and thoughtful. The accusations leveled against him in no way represent the decent young man I knew. We remain good friends and I admire him as a husband, father and professional.”
Another woman who said she dated Kavanaugh in college released a similar statement, vouching for his character “completely.”
Of course, Democrats dismiss these women’s statements as inconsequential — as meaningless. What they mean is it doesn’t fit their narrative. What they want hidden is it doesn’t fit their funders’ and donors’ narratives.  . . .

Woman Accusing DNC Co-Chair Keith Ellison Of Abuse Describe How Democrats ‘Smeared, Threatened, Isolated’ Her

She accused a Democrat and there is no forgiveness for that. TD

Washington Examiner
She accused a Democrat. So, therefore, she is not to be believed. And media ignores her case. Such a difference in how the cases are handled. And there were two alleged assaults by Ellison when he was an adult after he was already in some power"  Weasel Zippers
Daily Caller  "DNC Deputy Chair and Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison has been accused [of] domestic abuse by former girlfriend Karen Monahan. Monahan broke her story earlier in the year, claiming to have video evidence of Ellison physically abusing her and using sexist slurs toward her.
"Monahan has been slowly telling her story through Twitter, explaining how Democrats in her state attempted to silence her and “isolate” her. When a follower asked if Democrats believed her claims, Monahan said, “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party.”
"Monahan alleges she provided medical records to back up her claims of abuse, but state Democrats did nothing: “I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing [with] and healing from the abuse.”
“ 'I knew I wouldn’t be believed,” Monahan said of her Democratic colleagues."
(Emphasis mine, TD)

Corrupt Media Reported on Kavanaugh Accuser 100 Times More than Ellison Accusers Who Actually Filed Police Report  . . . "Fellow Democrat and Minnesotan running against Ellison in the AG primary, Debra Hilstrom, shared the viral Facebook post and demanded that Ellison address the allegations.
"Austin Monahan described seeing video of Keith Ellison –Screaming “f*cking bitch!” and dragging his mother off a bed by her feet!" . . .

Judge Kavanaugh and the left's revenge

Leftists are nothing if not hypocritical.  They have relentlessly harassed the woman who accused Keith Ellison of abuse.*

American Thinker  "The first episode of Alfred Hitchcock's TV series was titled "Revenge."  The story opens with Carl and Elsa Spann, a recently married couple who move into a trailer by the sea.  Elsa has suffered a nervous breakdown, the seaside her therapy.

"Carl heads out for his first day at work, and Elsa is baking a cake to surprise her husband.  But when Carl gets home, he finds a smoke-filled trailer; a burning cake; and his wife beaten and assaulted, in a catatonic state. The police have no leads on the assailant, and Carl's frustration and anger build.
"The next day, Carl takes Elsa away.  They're driving through town when Elsa points to a man walking on the sidewalk.
" 'There he is!  That's him!"
Carl parks and follows the man to his room, where he bludgeons the stranger to death.  He goes back to the car and drives away.  Then Elsa points to another man: "There he is! That's him!"  The scene closes on Carl's shocked expression as he realizes what he's done.
"How did this happen?  Well, Carl witnessed the results of the attack, saw proof of the crime.  And he had no reason to doubt his wife, not to believe her.
"Sadly, in today's court of public opinion, there doesn't even have to be evidence of a crime.  And the crime need not be current.  Without proof, can a man still be held accountable for committing a crime?  You betcha.
"The left demands that all female accusers be believed, a mandate antithetical to the Constitution.  Leftists claim that every accusation earns full credibility due to the "seriousness of the charge," regardless of proof or lack thereof.  So the Democrat media run with the accusation, parading politicians from both sides who gravely pronounce the accusation credible, serious.
"Just like that, the left has found its political MOAB.
"his brings us to Judge Kavanaugh, a man with a sterling reputation and impeccable credentials yet now under the #MeToo shadow. " . . . Read more...

Democrats Want Their Pound of Kavanaugh Flesh

Mike Ramirez
National Review  . . . Regardless of the validity of the accusation, the timing on it is straight out of Anita Hill. The woman is said to have approached Senate Democrats in July, but two months later, in the public hearing, Kavanaugh was never asked about the incident, nor did it come up in the 1,278 written follow-up questions he has since answered.

"The New Yorker magazine implies that the reason for the delay in bringing up the incident is that Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is now suddenly worried that she will be blamed for “going easy” on Judge Kavanaugh. Senator Feinstein faces a left-wing Democrat in the November election, whom she currently leads in the polls by 40 points. Similar claims were made against Joe Biden, when he was the ranking member of Senate Judiciary Committee and apparently didn’t move in for the kill against Clarence Thomas with enough vigor. Those claims never seemed to hurt Joe Biden’s career." . . .
