TV Ignores Conservative Authors Of No. 1 Book In The Country, While Putting Liberal Author Of No. 3,421 Book On Major Tour

Daily Caller  "E. Jean Carroll’s book accusing President Donald Trump of rape has sold almost no copies, despite major coverage while a book critical of the Justice Brett Kavanaugh proceedings is the top seller on Amazon with no such treatment.

"Carroll’s book, “What Do We Need Men For?” is ranked #3421 on Amazon. It sold only 1,900 copies in its first week, according to BookScan data.

"By comparison, “Justice on Trial” is the #1 book on Amazon, selling 4,500 pre-orders on Amazon before it was even released July 9, the book’s publisher, Regnery, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The book by Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino documents the rush to judgment and flawed narrative surrounding Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of an attempted sexual assault.

"The 1,900 BookScan total for Carroll’s book includes bookstores as well as Amazon. It covers the week of June 30 to July 6; Carroll’s book was released July 2. It does not appear anywhere in the BookScan list of top 50 nonfiction books." . . .

Some claimed Team USA showed a lack of class for celebrating goals deep into its 13-0 rout of Thailand.

National Review  "As if Donald Trump didn’t have enough legal problems and bad juju, now he has another headache to deal with: a lawsuit filed yesterday in federal court in New York accusing him (along with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein) of raping a 13 year old girl in 1994 at a party at Epstein’s place. The allegations are quite lurid, and reek of similar underage-sex-slavery charges made against Epstein. The lawsuit itself is not that likely to go very far; it appears to be a rehash of a suit previously dismissed in California. The statute of limitations has long since run out, requiring the “Jane Doe” plaintiff to offer creative arguments for why she should be able to bring this up now.

"That said, there’s no statute of limitations in politics. Is there anything to this? We know, on the one hand, that nasty truths come out about political figures every campaign season. Voters mostly gave the benefit of the doubt to Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio when flimsy sex stories were run against them in the primaries. Trump’s great wealth and messy public personal life make him a big target for this sort of thing. Sometimes, we have to just look at the facts we have and use our judgment.

“I think this is more BS,” Goldberg said after mentioning the race accusation. Goldberg was annoyed that younger lawmakers were criticizing how effective Pelosi, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and other older Democrats had been in effecting change.

“I don’t know about going to race right away — it’s like really? that’s where you go right away? I thought that that was a bit much, frankly.”

Goldberg also knocked freshmen for their apparent lack of compromise. “Women of color, watch me now. Let’s keep this in mind, do you think Nancy Pelosi wanted to pass a half-assed bill? No, the moderates were the problem and I would say to these women.” She appeared to be referring to the border funding bill that fueled a lot of the controversy surrounding Ocasio-Cortez and others in the party.

She added that if Ocasio-Cortez and others did not try to reach out and persuade moderates, they shouldn’t complain about legislation. “If you’re not going to do that, you’re not allowed to b—h about this.”

Amazon caught blocking favorable reviews of Mollie Hemmingway/Carrie Severino book on Kavanaugh confirmation

Amazon is refusing to publish many reviews and ratings of the No. 1 best-selling “Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court,” according to multiple reports from readers who purchased the book directly from Amazon.

The behind-the-scenes dive into the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, which was written by Carrie Severino and The Federalist’s Senior Editor Mollie Hemingway, debuted at No. 1 on Amazon’s list of best-selling books.

The Federalist independently confirmed that many reviews by verified purchasers of “Justice on Trial” were not being published by Amazon. Some fake reviews from non-purchasers and reviews from those who clearly had not read the book, however, were published immediately. As of Wednesday evening, the online retailer had allowed only 16 reviews of the top-selling book to be published.

One reviewer whose critique was published by Amazon accused the authors of “stay[ing] away from using the term rape” regarding unsubstantiated accusations of sexual assault made against Kavanaugh during the confirmation process in 2018. A word search of the Kindle version of the book shows that the term was used 41 times by the authors. Another review, from an individual who did not purchase the book from Amazon, wrote that it was the “[w]orst book ever” and rated the book with one star.

The Seattle-based retail giant has a history of manipulating reviews and ratings for high-profile political books.

As of midnight Thursday night, there were 52 reviews, 90% of them giving the book 5 stars, and only 4 giving it fewer than 4 stars." . . .
