Tucker Carlson Sounds Alarm About Police, Election And Our Country
"What would a world without police look like? This gives you a pretty good idea. This is horrifying."
Eric Garcetti Asks Demoralized LAPD to ‘Remember Why They Became Police Officers’  "Garcetti was speaking after numerous reports of “record low” morale in the LAPD, after the Black Lives Matter riots led the mayor to announce $150 million in cuts to the department, which became official on Monday. Garcetti is also feuding with the local police union, which took offense last month when the mayor referred to police (in general) as “killers.' ”  . . .

Watch: Florida Sheriff Warns Any Violent Protesters Don’t Come To His County

"A Florida sheriff warned that he would deputize legal gun owners in his county if he feels protesters are overwhelming the police force.
“ 'If we can’t handle you … I’ll exercise the power and authority as the sheriff, and I’ll make special deputies of every lawful gun owner in this county, and I’ll deputize them for this one purpose: to stand in the gap between lawlessness and civility,” Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels, the county’s first black sheriff, said in a video released on Tuesday.
“ 'That’s what we’re sworn to do. And that’s what we’re going to do. You’ve been warned,” he added." . . .

Dan Crenshaw points to startling report of skyrocketing crime in NYC amid call to defund police  "Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw, one of millions of conservatives fed up with the left-wing extremism overwhelming the country, pointed to just a single example Wednesday of the deadly violence that this Democrat Party- and media-endorsed extremism has wrought." . . .
"The example he cited from radio station WINS concerned just New York City, yet it involved a startling 112 shooting victims (some still alive, others dead) who’ve been harmed within the past nine or so days alone." . . .

It Is Time for America to Make a Stand

You sick of this yet? Finally?

Townhall

"We have had enough. American patriots have stood idly by while the International Left has swept through our culture like the Germans swept through France in 1914, burning and slaughtering in their relentless drive toward Paris. Passivity has been our most demonstrable quality as the icons of our history – Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Ulysses S. Grant – have been attacked, small businesses destroyed, and innocent Americans assaulted and threatened. It is time to summon our manhood, just as the French did at the Battle of the Marne, finally saying, “Enough!” against an Imperial German army hell-bent on conquest.
Sick of this yet?
"History reminds us that antithetical forces vie in a never-ending human struggle for dominance. The forces of good advance and retreat. The forces of evil advance and retreat. We have been watching evil advance since May 25 under the guise of doing good. It is time for good to make a stand.
. . .
"Clearly most of those now engaged in the cultural assault, physical destruction, and intimidation in America today only care about one thing – the destruction of America, because they hate it. Pure and simple.
"As we celebrate this Independence Day, it is time for all Americans of every stripe – black, white, Asian, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Democrat, Republican – to make a stand and say, “Enough!' ”  More...

St. Louis Couple Who Drew Guns to Protect Property Now Under Investigation

Presidential candidate Joe Biden himself told us, "Buy a shotgun. Buy a shotgun"

Legal Insurrection

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner needs to read Missouri’s castle doctrine.

"St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner announced her “office is currently working with the public and police to investigate” the couple who drew their weapons to defend their property from protesters.

Yes, Gardner is investigating the couple. Not the people who broke through the iron gate. The couple.
. . .
"Mark and Patricia McCloskey, personal injury lawyers, have a different story (emphasis mine):
St. Louis police said the couple had called police for help once they saw the large crowd enter Portland Place. The McCloskeys had been at home and heard a loud commotion coming from the street; they went to investigate and saw “a large group of subjects forcefully break an iron gate marked with ‘No Trespassing’ and ‘Private Street’ signs,” police said.
“The group began yelling obscenities and threats of harm to both victims,” police said. “When the victims observed multiple subjects who were armed, they then armed themselves and contacted police.”
"The police labeled “it as a case of trespassing and fourth-degree assault by intimidation.”
I think Gardner needs an education on Missouri’s castle doctrine (emphasis mine):
Anders Walker, a constitutional law professor at St. Louis University, said that although it’s “very dangerous” to engage protesters with guns, the homeowners broke no laws by brandishing or pointing weapons at them because Portland Place is a private street. He said the McCloskeys are protected by Missouri’s Castle Doctrine, which allows people to use deadly force to defend private property.
“At any point that you enter the property, they can then, in Missouri, use deadly force to get you off the lawn,” Walker said, calling the state’s Castle Doctrine a “force field” that “indemnifies you, and you can even pull the trigger in Missouri.” . . .
"Met the protestors with a "violent assault"?  They were in the middle of dinner at their home!  Gardner watches too much CNN, I'd say and assumed this was just a "merry caravan".

Devastating: Father of Young Man Killed in Seattle's Anarchist Zone Has Been Ignored by the Mayor

Katie Pavlich  "Nearly two weeks ago, 19-year-old Horace Lorenzo Anderson was killed in Seattle's anarchist, "cop free" zone. He was shot and paramedics were unable to administer care after being blocked by individuals running the area.
"During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Wednesday night, Anderson's father revealed Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, who endorsed the zone as a "summer of love," hasn't bothered to call him. He wasn't informed of his son's death by Seattle officials or police, but instead by friends who live out of town.
" 'The only way I found out is two of his friends came and told me," Horace Lorenzo Anderson said, eventually breaking down in tears. "The police department, they never came. My son's address, his ID, him personally. Him as a person. Somebody should have come and knocked on my door. Still to this day should have been like, come and talked to me and let me know about my son. To this day I really, I don't know nothing. I'm still sitting here. I haven't heard nothing from nobody...I haven't heard from the mayor. I haven't heard from the police department. I just now recently, just because I went on tv, they reached out to me and let me know what they're doing now but my son has been deceased for two weeks."
" 'It's like they didn't care. It didn't matter. I haven't heard from the mayor. I haven't heard from the police department, no city, nobody. Only thing I heard from is what you guys are hearing from me now," he pleaded." . . .

Tucker Carlson may be one of very few courageous conservatives in America

Tony Branco
Tucker Carlson Interviews St. Louis Man Who Defended His Home From BLM Mob, Here’s What He Said   "Tucker Carlson interviewed Mark McCloskey tonight on his top-rated program. In the segment, McCloskey was able to give his side of the story and share what he was feeling as an angry mob broke into his neighborhood and appeared just feet from his house. He’s now facing potential “assault” charges for “intimidating” the group that the local DA described as peaceful protesters.
"Before McCloskey came on, though, Carlson laid out exactly who that DA is. You’ll be less than shocked to learn that she’s another product of George Soros’ recent campaign to install far-left, anti-law and order DAs across the country. The billionaire poured millions into local races and it has reaped wins across bluer urban centers. As Carlson notes, only 23% of the criminal cases sent to Kim Gardner by the St. Louis Police Department were ultimately charged and pursued. Just as we’ve seen from prosecutors in New York, Chicago, and elsewhere, this DA sees herself as a social justice warrior, and any attempts to critique her abandonment of her duty results in charges of racism."

Tucker Carlson, now officially the king of cable news, delivers historic challenge to GOP
Tucker Carlson now has the highest ratings of any program in cable news history, adding extra weight to his historic program last night, in which he laid out the peril ahead if Biden wins and a clear strategy for the clueless GOP to follow in order to prevent that from happening.
"If you missed Carlson's opening monologue last night, it is embedded below in full, all 10 minutes and 48 seconds of it." . . .

Boycott Fail: Tucker Carlson Continues to Destroy the Competition, Sets Cable News Viewership Record  . . . "Carlson has made it a point in his monologues over the last month or so to point out how the push to shut down conservative voices over disagreement was worse than it had ever been. He’s also frequently called out widespread leadership failures on both sides of the aisle, noting that Democrats and not enough Republicans were standing up to the mob rule and general lawlessness we’ve seen from liberal so-called “peaceful protesters” all across the country in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.
"His message is clearly resonating with people who are feeling frustrated and hopeless over the chaos they are seeing taking place in their own back yards. As a result, viewers are now tuning in in record numbers." . . .  Sister Toldjah

New GOP Ad Issues Powerful Warning About Democrats Threatening American Culture

PJ Media

"On Wednesday, the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) released a powerful new ad warning about vandals and rioters destroying a key monument in American culture — the presidents on Mount Rushmore. While the vandals are not likely to actually deface Mount Rushmore anytime soon, their iconoclastic movement has already targeted each of the four presidents on the monument — George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt.
"The ad, “Erasing History,” shows the presidents on Mount Rushmore disappearing, one by one, as vandals tarnish monuments to each of those presidents, and as “America the Beautiful” plays somberly in the background. The ad appears to be a tribute to an America not just under siege but actively being dismantled by roving bands of rioters set on damning the entire American project as an exercise in oppression.
“‘ 'Erasing History’ is a poignant reminder about the dangers of the current ‘cancel culture,’ the threat to our nation and the rule of law posed by anarchists and lawless liberals,” RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper said in a statement. “The 2020 election will be a referendum on law and order – and the choice is clear.”
“ 'Americans who want to protect their freedom, history, and the rule of law will vote for Republican AGs,” Piper argued, claiming that Republican attorneys general stand in “stark contrast to Democrats, complicit with today’s cancel culture and various attempts to erase Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln from our history books.”
“ 'It’s absurd to think Democrats could be offended by Mount Rushmore or the Fourth of July. However, today’s cancel culture has absolutely nothing to do with promoting equality or ensuring domestic tranquility and everything to do with creating division and destroying anything and everything lawless liberals think they might hate,” Piper added. “Today, their targets are our founding fathers, our flag, and public safety. As a parent, one must ask, what will they target tomorrow?” . . . Read more...

The Myth of Righteous Vandalism; "And why historians should not endorse it."

Destroying historical monuments erodes our knowledge of the reasons and sentiments of our predecessors who espoused them, and of how far we have come.
The American Spectator  "The fevered frenzy against public monuments has caused varied reactions. Among scholars, the main symptom is seemingly contagious dispassion. When a New York Times columnist spoke with art historian Erin Thompson, for example, their interview closed with Thompson recommending the use of chains for those interested in inverting large objects. She appears to have an affinity for neither art nor history. Thompson may have caught the bug from archaeologist Sarah Parcak, who recently — and apparently satirically — briefed mobs struggling to dislodge obelisks. “It is sometimes complained,” drawls historian William Cavert, “that such acts erase history.” According to him, that is a popular grievance against the destruction of statues that historians and scholars almost universally dismiss.
"Destroying historical monuments erodes our knowledge of the reasons and sentiments of our predecessors who espoused them, and of how far we have come.
"To inoculate the rest of us, let’s try to inhale and expose ourselves to the astonishing notion that these scholars seem to endorse: that statues are useless and that we derive historical knowledge only from archives, documents, and “objects preserved in libraries or museums.” Only if this is true — if statues can bear no intellectual or artistic value — would our indifference be justified. But if there is any value inherent in objects that a community once used publicly and symbolically, we should reconsider.
"First, the physical evidence of Confederate monuments is what has generated much of the indignation towards them. This evidence directly contributes to historical knowledge.
"Second, even if all Americans today deem artifacts from a certain era to be worthless, we shouldn’t decide on behalf of future generations.
"Third, landmarks are inseparable from citizens’ intergenerational identities." . . .
