Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Has Fled Ottawa For A “Secure Location”… |

 Weasel Zippers

"As thousands of protesters entered Ottawa, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family were moved from their home to an undisclosed location somewhere in the city on Saturday afternoon due to security concerns, CBC reports.

"A “Freedom Convoy” of some 2,700 trucks entered the Canadian capital city of Ottawa Saturday to protest Trudeau’s COVID-19 policies, Reuters reported. According to the Independent, around 100 big rigs blockaded a main street running past the Canadian parliament building.

"The convoy, which approached the capital from all sides, began as a protest against a vaccine mandate for Canadian truckers crossing the U.S.-Canada border but grew into a wider expression of discontent with the government’s COVID-19 policies.

“These demonstrations are national in scope, they’re massive in scale,” Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly said Friday, expressing concern about the possibility of violent “lone wolf” individuals carrying out violent acts." Keep reading…

Virginia's New AG Jason Miyares DESTROYS CNN's Shameless Hack Jim Acosta Who Bizarrely Accused Him of Being a Communist

The Gateway Pundit

"There’s a new AG in Virginia and he is putting the people first.  He knows what it means to live in a communist country and is determined not to let it happen in Virginia.

"Virginia’s new Attorney General started with a bang and fired 30 corrupt attorneys on the state’s payroll and announced major investigations the moment he was sworn in.

CNN’s loathsome reporter accused the incoming Republican leaders in Virginia of being communists earlier this week.

Acosta is one of the most shameless ‘reporters’ out there.  This gas-lighting from the communist left didn’t sit well with the incoming AG in Virginia.

Redstate reported on the exchange AG  Jason Miyares had on Hannity the other night.

“I think what Jim Acosta said — listen, my family fled Communist Cuba. You want to talk about what ‘Soviet-style’ looks like? It’s the opposite of freedom,” he said. “My mother has distinct memories of being forced to take classes in Marxist-Leninism.”
Miyares also disclosed that his uncle, Angel Miyares, had been arrested in the dark of night by now-deceased dictator Fidel Castro’s secret police and detained without due process — and that his parents later had their home “nationalized: in the name of fairness and equity.” […]
“What we have said is parents matter. Listen, if you’re a parent and you want to mask your child for six, seven, eight hours a day, you absolutely have that right. That’s your individual decision,” he said. “The great irony of all this, is in Soviet-style communist states like Cuba, the state diminishes parents. They say, ‘Your loyalty is to the state,’ and parents have less control. This is about parental empowerment.' ”. . .   Jim Acosta video

Maybe it's time to take George Soros seriously

Pay particular attention to Discover the Networks | Secretary of State Project (SOSP):

... One of the principal duties of the secretary of state is to serve as the chief election officer who certifies candidates as well as election results in his or her state. The holder of this office, then, can potentially play a key role in determining the winner of a close election.

List of Prosecutors Backed by George Soros Causing Murder and Crime to Soar

"Murder and crime have soared under district attorneys and state attorneys funded by George Soros and his affiliated foundations. Cities that have been affected by the progressive policies include Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, St. Luis, New York, Baltimore and Orlando, and more.

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial, the Jussie Smollet hoax, the attack on the Waukesha Christmas parade, the organized mob lootings in San Francisco, and now the indictment of the Baltimore district attorney have each attracted national attention and spotlighted an issue that many in law enforcement and politics have been warning of for years: the threat of activist district attorneys (DAs).

"Specifically, the public imagination has been captured by the stories of activist DAs backed by the shadowy figure of George Soros.

"Many have heard of him, and most understand that he spends millions on U.S. politics, but very few know the specifics. As a result, Soros has become something of a folklore monster whose reputation often exceeds reality.

"But when it comes to Soros’s involvement in backing left-wing district attorneys, Soros really is the archvillain that rumor makes him out to be." . . .

Dr. Evil gets out his checkbook - American Thinker ..."And as a result, San Diego is not plagued with the kind of crime that Los Angeles and other blue cities with Soros-backed district attorneys have descended to.

"It's a potent example because it suggests that the public knows.  Soros cash = hellhole cities.  That makes the Soros money pile useless.  Soros may think, as Joe Biden does, that slathering more money on will fix the problem, but at this point, it is more likely to backfire as voter sentiment shifts and word gets out about the Soros D.A. records.

"Transparency is Soros's worst enemy.  It's the kryptonite to his slather-cash money plans.  No wonder he doesn't like it." Emphases mine, TD

George Soros' DAs: Billionaire's cash helped elect two dozen district attorneys across U.S. - Washington Times "George Gascon, Kim Foxx and Larry Krasner get most of the attention, but they are far from the only left-wing prosecutors whose campaigns were bankrolled by Democratic megadonor George Soros." . . .

By crudely insulting a Fox reporter, Biden again showed his coarse nastiness - American Thinker  "Biden is now and always has been an exceptionally nasty man who's developed a decades-old reputation for saying really mean things to people.  He usually does it with a little grin, the kind that says, "If you challenge me on this, I'll just say you can't take a joke."  However, when Biden sat before a microphone and called Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy a "stupid son of a b----" last night, that was no joke.  That was just Biden.  And his insult was accompanied by the useful admission that Biden knows exactly how badly his economy will hurt Democrats.". . .

FURTHER UPDATE: a collection of Biden insulting reporters asking questions he doesn't like:

John McWhorter says "It’s Time to End Race-Based Affirmative Action."

How would you feel about your kids being admitted to a university because of their “diverseness” from other kids rather than, well, their selves?

Althouse  " That seems very important! Let's read:
When affirmative action was put into practice around a half-century ago, with legalized segregation so recent, it was reasonable to think of being Black as a shorthand for being disadvantaged, whatever a Black person’s socioeconomic status was.... I think a mature America is now in a position to extend the moral sophistication of affirmative action to disadvantaged people of all races or ethnicities, especially since, as a whole, Black America would still benefit substantially....

"Whether we're mature or not, the legal basis for upholding affirmative action in the higher education admissions process has been "diversity." And McWhorter attacks this concept. For one thing, his own children have led an upper-middle-class, privileged life.

And I will never forget a line from a guidebook that Black students at Harvard wrote two decades ago: “We are not here to provide diversity training for Kate and Timmy.”...

The Kid Rock–Neil Young War

 National Review

Kid Rock reminds listeners that their ire — due to feeling distant from and unrepresented by their government, the media, and other public institutions — can find justification in the Constitution.

Left: Kid Rock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Brooklyn,
Right: Neil Young performs at a tribute to Bob Dylan in Los Angeles, Calif., in 2015.

"The strongest lyric on Kid Rock’s new single “We the People” is 235 years old: “In order to form a more perfect union / Do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America.”
"Nothing else on this recording is as powerful, since most of Kid Rock’s song resorts to crude profanities. But the reason why is easy to understand. On the day Kid Rock released his song, rock-music veteran Neil Young publicly threatened Spotify with an ultimatum: Either remove its broadcast of the political commentator and comedian Joe Rogan, or he’d remove his music from its streaming service. It’s enough to make a true rock and roller revolt.
"But the synchronicity is a jolt. “We the People” challenges rock-music orthodoxy, specifically the authoritarian stances taken by famous, established rock stars such as Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, and the Rolling Stones, who no longer behave like the counterculture figures they once seemed.
"In this sudden ideological skirmish, Kid Rock wants to reclaim populism and protest against Young’s imperious assertion of authority and limited expression.
Kid Rock’s unabashed vulgarity forsakes the education and eloquence of the Founding Fathers but no less than congressional rule-breaking currently does. That’s because “We the People” — words taken from the preamble of the Constitution — is based on the widespread working-class anger that the "Constitution is routinely flouted by the people who have sworn to defend it. The anger has been mounting since the Covid lockdowns, yet mainstream media vilifies it.". . .
