Joe Biden, the Habitual Racialist Demagogue

 Victor Davis Hanson; RealClearPolitics

In response, Biden does what he has always done for some 40 years: mouth wild racist demagoguery.

The most recent liberal ABC News/Washington Post poll showed President Joe Biden's approval rating at 36 percent - the lowest in history for a president at this point in his first term.

Biden's low popularity is no mystery. He inherited energy independence, affordable gas prices, historically low interest rates, low inflation, calm overseas, a low crime rate, and a largely closed border with legal-only immigration.

"And then Biden destroyed that inheritance.

"He has begged illiberal foreign governments to pump oil he refuses to drill domestically for.

He spiked inflation at the highest rate in over 40 years.

"Home interest rates have skyrocketed from less than 3% to 7%.

"He nearly doubled the price of gasoline.". . .

President of the US: good work if you can get it

House Republicans release probe into Biden family finances - BBC News   "House Republicans have unveiled what they say are records of $10m (£8m) in payments to members of the Biden family from foreign entities.

"Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said Joe Biden's relatives had used the family name to enrich themselves, and the president was "involved".

"The report itself does not substantiate these claims or implicate Mr Biden. It does not allege illegal conduct.

"The White House called the findings "baseless innuendo".

"The roughly 30-page report detailed what lawmakers say are various companies and financial records tied to family members of Mr Biden, including his son, Hunter Biden, and daughter-in-law, Hallie Biden.". . .

Republican-led House panel to focus on Biden family business - BBC News   "We have evidence - that we've been transparent with and will continue to be transparent with - where this family has taken in millions and millions of dollars from our adversaries, mainly in China," the Kentucky Republican said in a speech to the National Press Club in Washington DC. "I think we need to determine what was that money for. Who supplied that money?"

"he president and his family have denied any wrongdoing in overseas business dealings. Donald Trump's children have also been accused of conflicts of interest in lucrative business deals overseas.

"Mr Comer said on Monday that the Trump administration had a problem with influence-peddling, mentioning Mr Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, specifically. Mr Kushner has also denied any wrongdoing." . . .

Four Republican senators just showed true colors...

RedState

 - Revolver News   "One of the biggest and most perilous challenges the right faces isn’t the communist left. Rather, it lies within our own ranks — the treacherous RINOs. These traitors are the greatest obstacle in the war against the left. They are either inherently weak and cowardly, suffer from an extreme case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, or are globalists at heart. It could even be a combination of all three. The point is this — if we don’t get rid of these disloyal RINOs, we will never win. They stand as human barricades obstructing our path to victory.

"And on that note, we have four GOP senators who just showed their true colors. Jealous and fearful of Trump’s popularity and power, the quartet of  traitors are attacking Trump’s triumphant CNN town hall and his America First agenda.

"One of the worst offenders is a warmonger senator out of Indiana who you’ve probably never heard of named Todd Young. Mr. Young rode Trump’s 2016 coattails to a stunning upset victory and is now refusing to support him or his world peace/working-class agenda in 2024.

"Young, who blames President Trump for January 6th even though he voted to acquit him during the second sham impeachment trial, took issue with Trump’s comments on the Ukraine war during the CNN town hall. Trump stated that he wants the war to end. Trump said he thinks that Russian President Vladimir Putin “made a mistake” by invading Ukraine, but he stopped short of calling Putin a war criminal. It’s fair to note that President Trump didn’t call George Bush a war criminal, either.

"Suddenly Young, who rode the first and second Trump wave to victory, now claims he will support “anybody” but Trump. Based on that comment, it sounds as if Senator Young will be voting for Joe Biden. How will the good people of Indiana feel about that?". . .

Lots of things are on people’s minds — government corruption, gender, race, leftism, etc. — but immigration (i.e., the invasion) topped the list.

Democrats suddenly realize open borders are a disaster (nypost.com)   "Republican border-state governors are sending busloads of illegal entrants — released in their states by the Department of Homeland Security — to DC and New York City, prompting recriminations and pleas for federal cash from the Democratic mayors of those erstwhile immigrant-friendly cities.

"Those mayors, seemingly unwittingly, are making the governors’ point — that the administration has created a disaster at the US-Mexico line, requiring an immediate policy shift to protect lives and state and local finances.

"It started in April. Fed up with federal releases of large numbers of migrants into overwhelmed small towns in his state (including Uvalde), Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) began offering migrants free bus trips to DC to shift some of the burden to Washington.

"Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) followed suit in May, and more than 7,300 migrants have since arrived in DC from the two states, creating what even Vanity Fair has termed, “A Migrant Crisis in Washington.”

"DC Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), who reaffirmed her town’s status as an immigrant “sanctuary city” after Donald Trump’s 2016 election, now derides Abbott’s and Ducey’s efforts as “cruel political gamesmanship” creating a “humanitarian crisis” in her city that “must be dealt with at the federal level” in a letter to the Department of Defense seeking National Guard support (since rejected)." . . .

Alas, poor FOX; I knew you well

Fox News desperately needs new blood - Thomas Lifson   "If the Drudge Report leak (see Peter Barry Chowka’s coverage of it here) about the new lineup at Fox News is correct, the network is stumbling very badly. Sticking with its existing talent (moving Hannity to Tucker’s old time slot) will not appease viewers angry over Tucker’s firing. The former viewers have made it clear that Hannity will not win them back.

. . ."I am one of those angry viewers, and the only thing that would intrigue me enough to check out their lineup at 8 PM Eastern is someone capable of both surprising me with new ideas and amusing me. Greg Gutfeld has that dual capacity, and that is why his star has soared in the late-night competition. But his is also mostly a comedy show, whose lighter approach is better at late night, rather than 8 PM, which is the showcase as it leads viewers into the entire prime time lineup. Having established ratings leadership in the late night comedy/entertainment territory, Fox News would be crazy to give that up by moving Gutfeld to 8 PM."

Is a major primetime schedule shakeup imminent at FOX News? - American Thinker

From the comments: We don't want the same old, same old, blah, blah, blah. Tyrus would be a good choice. He is tremendously popular and valued by audiences for his sharp intellect and thinking outside of the box. Or Greg.
Gutfeld's "poop" jokes wore thin on me a long time ago. I enjoy his guests, especially Kat and Tyrus.
