Fireworks at the Trump impeachment

Barr ----*: Trump Campaign ‘Clearly Spied Upon,’ ‘First Time In History’ To Happen To ‘Presidential Campaign’
(* word "Bombshell" removed because of bombshell fatigue. TD)
. . . "NBC News Pete Williams asked Barr, “Based on what you know so far, do you still stand by your statement that the campaign was spied upon?”
“ 'Oh, it was clearly spied upon. I mean, that’s what electronic surveillance is. I think wiring people up to go in and talk to people and make recordings of their conversations is spying,” Barr responded. “I think going through people’s emails which they did as a result of the FISA warrant. They went through everything, you know, from Page’s life.”
"Earlier in the interview, Barr said that this was “the first time in history that this has been done to a presidential campaign, the use of these counterintelligence techniques against a presidential campaign.' ” . . .

Panelist makes surprise Trump impeachment prediction  "CNN political commentator and Democratic strategist Paul Begala predicts that this will not be the first attempt at impeaching President Trump because he believes Trump would be impeached again if he ignored a possible Supreme Court ruling that would force key White House witnesses to testify."

UPDATED: Soccer Star Megan Rapinoe, Who Disrespected Flag And Trump, Named Sports Illustrated’s 2019 ‘Sportsperson Of The Year’

The Mix   "If you’re wondering if this move is political by the sports publishing giant – the answer is a resounding YES. The fact they refer to the honoree as “Sportsperson” should be your first clue.
"The longstanding sports publisher touts Rapinoe as “a voice for so many across the world” in the digital article which complements Rapinoe’s splashy magazine cover. There is even a barely veiled jab at the President in the Sports Illustrated article’s masthead which reads:
Playing the world’s game, on the world’s stage, under attack by a world leader, she dominated. And in doing so without fear, Megan Rapinoe became a voice for so many across the world.
Trump Takes The High Road With Rapinoe
"During the World Cup, President Trump did not hesitate to fire back at Rapinoe.“We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose,” Trump said.“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear.”"Rapinoe is a US soccer star and thus a role model to millions. And this is how she uses it?"It’s disheartening to see a US pro athlete like Rapinoe be rewarded for publicly bashing the very country that has given her all of the many freedoms she holds dear. It’s the the brave men and women who have gave their lives for our flag that affords Rapinoe the freedom to speak out against this country."Megan Rapinoe- and the team at Sports Illustrated -would do well to remember that."
American soccer star Megan Rapinoe has come under fire after she ignored the national anthem before the Women’s World Cup game against Thailand on Tuesday.
The Daily Caller reported that Rapinoe had previously said that she would ignore the national anthem as a “f*** you” to President Donald Trump, adding that she would “never put my hand over my heart” or sing the national anthem again.“I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart,” Rapinoe said last month. “I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again.”
“Because I’m as talented as I am, I get to be here, you don’t get to tell me if I can be here or not,” she added. “So it’s kind of a good ‘f-you’ to any sort of inequality or bad sentiments that the [Trump] administration might have towards people who don’t look exactly like him. Which, God help us if we all looked like him. Scary. Really scary. Ahh, disturbing.”
Rapinoe stayed true to her word on Tuesday, as she was seen standing silently with a blank look on her face as her teammates sang the national anthem.
The article was published on Monday, and touted Rapinoe as a “voice for so many around the world.” Eh?
. . . "The cover of the annual issue shows Rapinoe wearing something that’s apparently supposed to constitute a fashionable outfit while smirking and holding a sledgehammer.
"But wait, I thought smirking was a sign of “white privilege?”
“ 'What about a smirk?” Rapinoe said at one point during the photoshoot. “It’s kind of like a little, ‘F*** you, I’m coming.’”
"I guess smirking being a punishable offense only applies to 15-year-old boys and doesn’t apply to people who’ve been openly critical of President Donald Trump.
"Anyway, the article that seemingly worships at the alter of Rapinoe, concludes by talking about the decision to have Rapinoe pose with the sledgehammer. The photographer of the shoot apparently wanted Rapinoe to pose with the item, with “the concept being that she’s smashing the patriarchy.”
"Please. She kicks a ball for her job and, despite what she wants you to think, makes a pretty damn good living doing it — at least more than most of her U.S. male counterparts.
"I’m not going to get into Rapinoe’s story that’s told in this love letter to her. Most of us have already heard her story, ad nauseam. And if you haven’t heard her story, just ask. She’s got no problem talking about herself." . . .

We love me!

Articles of impeachment of President Trump, annotated

Democrat and Media hatred for the success of our President on display for all to see

Wherefore President Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law. President Trump thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.
. . .  "The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that the President “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors“.

There were many possible articles of impeachment considered, including for bribery (by dangling the promise of US taxpayer funds in exchange for his “favor” from Zelensky), obstruction of justice in connection with special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, and more. Democrats chose to narrowly tailor these efforts to the Ukraine scandal that has been the main subject of investigation since September.
"In all of this, President Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice, and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.
This is an incredible paragraph. They’re saying Trump violated public trust, subverted the Constitution, damaged the US legal system and did harm to the American people — exactly the opposite of what a President vows to do when taking the oath of office.
. . . "Wherefore, President Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law. President Trump thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.

Democrats pick Hillary Clinton as 2020 front-runner in new party poll

NY Post  "A new poll of registered Democrats has Hillary Clinton as their top choice for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination — and she’s not even running.
"The online Harris Poll survey released by the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard found that Clinton placed first with 21% of the vote, followed closely by former Vice President Joe Biden at 20%, Sen. Bernie Sanders at 12%, Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 9% and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at 7%.

"It polled 1,859 voters and was conducted between Nov. 27 and 29 of this year.
"Pollsters also surveyed respondents without Clinton in the race — and Biden came out first, with 29% of the vote, followed by Sanders at 16% and Warren at 13%.
"Clinton has repeatedly said she is not running for president again, though she did tell the UK’s “Graham Norton Show” over the weekend that she’s been “deluged” with pleas to do just that.
" 'I’d have to make up my mind really quickly,” she said, “because it’s moving very fast.”
"Clinton narrowly lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump. Despite winning the popular vote with 65.8 million ballots to Trump’s 62.9 million, Clinton lost the Electoral College 304-227."

. . . "Smith also said the State Department and Clinton ignored her requests for information. “I am his mother. He was 34 years old, but he was still my baby,” Smith said. “I know what the government thinks of me, and I think just that much of the government – it stinks. This is how you get treated by the government, or, at least the way you used to.”
"Sean Smith’s uncle, Michael Ingmire, also criticized Clinton’s comments Wednesday.
“She has been in plausible deniability about Benghazi ever since it happened,” Ingmire told Fox News. “She was standing, basically before the coffins of Americans, blaming a horrible anti-Islamic video, but she’s just being consistent with her psychosis. The liar, the criminal, the crooked politician—those are the three faces of Hillary.”

An Election Too Important to Be Left to Voters

With every day that passes, the Democrats risk creating the perception that they themselves are a threat to the 2020 election.  Rich Lowry, NR

So Obama knew all along about the FBI bid to spy on his rival  "Up until now, President Obama has said he knew nothing about the FBI bid to destroy his political rival, Donald J.Trump, as evidenced in the newly released and mighty critical Inspector General, report.
"Back in August 2016, Obama said:
"I do not talk to the attorney general about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations," he insisted.
"I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department or the FBI -- not just in this case, but in any case. FULL STOP. PERIOD. Guaranteed. Nobody gets treated differently when it comes to the Justice Department," he said.
"Today, Obama's claim is in tatters. Julie Kelly of the Federalist, found references within the new IG report that Obama was briefed on the gamy investigation, and knew all about it all along." . . .

It's all about 2020

An Election Too Important to Be Left to Voters  . . . "The Democrats believe that the 2020 election is too important to be left to the voters.
"It’s obvious that President Donald Trump withheld defense aid to Ukraine to pressure its president to commit to the investigations that he wanted, an improper use of his power that should rightly be the focus of congressional investigation and hearings.
"Where the Democrats have gotten tangled up is trying to find a justification that supports the enormous weight of impeaching and removing a president for the first time in our history.
"They’ve cycled through different arguments. First, Trump’s offense was said to be a quid pro quo, a phrase cast aside for supposedly being too Latin for the public to understand; then it was bribery, which has lost ground lately, presumably because of the inherent implausibility of the charge; now, the emphasis is on Trump’s invitation to the Ukrainians to “meddle” and “interfere” in our elections." . . .

Biden embraces the position Hillary called her ’biggest mistake’ in 2016 campaign

Thomas Lifson "Nobody ever accused Joe Biden of being a genius. But it takes a special kind of stupid to eagerly embrace the issue that his party’s 2016 nominee called her “biggest mistake. ” 'Yet here he is, on video, announcing that when he is president, “No one is going to build another coal plant in America.”
"This is the same Joe Biden who pretends that his birth in Scranton (in coal country) gives him an advantage in the key swing state of Pennsylvania. Yep, they’ll really appreciate his roots when he drives the remaining miners out of their jobs.
"It’s not as if Hillary hasn’t warned him:
In her new book, "What Happened" — officially out next Tuesday — Hillary Clinton wrote that her biggest regret from the campaign trail last year was saying she would put coal miners out of business.
CNN, which obtained a copy of the book this week, reported that the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said that comment was the one "I regret the most."
Clinton made the remark during a town hall in Columbus, Ohio, in March 2016 when she touted her plan to replace fossil-fuel-based energy production with renewable systems.
"Joe would rather cave in to the Green New Deal totalitarians than protect his erstwhile neighbors in Scranton.

House Democrats Announce Two Articles Of Impeachment

Analyzing America

"House Democrats gathered to announce two articles of impeachment against President Trump.  "Adam Schiff explained the impeachable acts as abuse of power and obstruction of Congress."  Video here
"House Democrats on Tuesday announced articles of impeachment against President Trump alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress regarding his interactions with Ukraine, touching off a rapid-fire sequence that could result in a momentous floor vote in a matter of days.
“ 'The framers of the Constitution prescribed a clear remedy for presidents who so violate their oath of office,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. "No one, not even the president, is above the law.”
'The White House swiftly hit back, accusing Democrats of using the Ukraine issue as an excuse for "this partisan, gratuitous, and pathetic attempt to overthrow the Trump Administration and the results of the 2016 election."
"The key Democratic committee leaders, along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., outlined their plans in a brief and pointed statement to the media, and left without taking questions." . . .

Democrats’ Cannibalistic Ideology

Victor Davis Hanson

By their own logic, they are racist, sexist, elitist … and convicted of counterrevolutionary crimes.

Former Vice President Joe Biden speaks as Sen. Elizabeth Warren looks on during the Democratic presidential candidates debate in Westerville, Ohio October 15, 2019
"Once liberalism and progressivism give way to Jacobinism — and they often do, as we have seen in revolutionary France, China, and Russia — no leftist is safe from the downward spiral to ideological cannibalism. Yesterday’s true believer is today’s counterrevolutionary and tomorrow’s enemy of the people.
"We saw something like that during both the Trump impeachment frenzy and the current trajectory of the Democratic debates and looming primaries.
"The fury over Trump’s election led to a graduated and escalating series of efforts to remove him by suing three states for supposedly fraudulent voting machines. Then articles of impeachment were introduced. Suits followed citing the Constitution’s emoluments clause. The Logan Act was raised, as was the 25th Amendment. At each juncture, the zeal to remove the president accelerated in direct proportion to the failure of the previous effort. A lack of success was always explained as a result of insufficient revolutionary zeal, not an absence of evidence.
"The escalation culminated in the appointment of Robert Mueller and his “dream team” of partisan anti-Trump attorneys. After their failure to find actionable obstruction and any evidence of collusion, Mueller confirmed in congressional testimony that he was largely a tired administrative-state figurehead, a shill for the anti-Trump zealotry of progressive prosecutor Andrew Weissmann.
"After the collapse of each of these agendas, all that was left was impeachment itself. The criminal was still Trump; but what was needed was a new and better “crime” — and far more passion and hate. And both were found with Ukraine, as first defined as quid pro quo, later replaced by “bribery,” and finally recalibrated as “abuse of power.”
"The weekly Jacobin rhetoric made the prior progressive talk seem counterrevolutionary — until we finally reached the crux of the matter with admissions by various Democrats such as Representatives Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Al Green, and Nancy Pelosi that impeachment was likely the only means to stop Trump in 2020." . . .

Historian Victor Davis Hanson on why he supports Trump

Who is Victor Davis Hanson?  . . . "Hanson is a supporter of Donald Trump, authoring a 2019 book The Case for Trump. Trump praised the book. In the book, Hanson defends Trump's insults and vile language as "uncouth authenticity", and praises Trump for "an uncanny ability to troll and create hysteria among his media and political critics." According to Washington Post book critic Carlos Lozada, the book "focuses less on the case for Trump than on the case against everyone else," in particular attacking Hillary Clinton. According to Lozada, Hanson indulges "in casual sexism, criticizing Clinton’s “shrill” voice and her “signature off-putting laugh,” and inexplicably suggesting that while “Trump’s bulk fueled a monstrous energy; Hillary’s girth sapped her strength.”" Hanson praises the Trump administration for its "inspired" and "impressive" Cabinet members. In the book, Hanson blamed Barack Obama for "deliberately [whipping up]" "much of the current division in the country", while ignoring Trump's birtherism or attacks on Muslims. The book likens Trump to a hero of ancient literature, sacrificing himself for the greater good. Hanson expressed support for Trump's proposed border wall on the Southern border, saying that walls around houses deter criminals." . . .  (Wikipedia)

. . . "Hanson was a critic of Obama. Hanson criticized the Obama administration for engaging in "appeasement" of Iran, and "appeasement" of Russia. Hanson blamed Obama for the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2014. Hanson has argued Obama failed to maintain a credible threat of deterrence, and put the world on the precipice of another war comparable to the Second World War." . . .
