CNN, MSNBC cut away from Trump event with 'Angel Families'

Washington Times

"Two major cable TV news channels cut away from President Trump’s event Friday with families of people killed by illegal immigrants, switching to coverage of illegal immigrant families complaining about treatment at the border.

"CNN and MSNBC pivoted to the family separation issue even as parents on stage with Mr. Trump said their plight was ignored by the news media.

“ 'The mainstream media does not let you know what is really happening,” said Mary Ann Mendoza, who lost her son, Mesa, Arizona, Police Sgt. Brandon Mendoza, in 2014 following a vehicular accident with an illegal alien allegedly driving drunk at three times the legal limit.

"When CNN cut away from the event, the network’s midday host Brooke Baldwin questioned why the parents were complaining about the news media’s lack of interest in their stories.

"CNN then went to a live shot from outside a Texas detention facility for illegal immigrant children.

"The chyron read: “Thousands of kids in limbo as Trump’s order sparks confusion.”

"MSNBC returned to its continuing coverage of the family separation issue under the banner “families torn apart.' ” . . .

Actor Tom Arnold Vows To Harass Barron Trump at School Over Trump's Border Policy

MRCTV  "Actor Tom Arnold, Roseanne’s ex-husband, tweeted that he is going to harass the Trumps in several different locations to protest the President’s recent immigration policies.
"In a tweet, Arnold says he plans to show up at Barron Trump’s school because he knows Melania will be there to drop him off. He wants to harass the First Lady and her son because that is definitely how we change policy, right?
"But it wasn’t just one tweet. After people began alerting the Secret Service, he tweeted that he also was planning on showing up at Hooters because “Don Jr’s kids are already working at Hooters so we’ll protest there for lunch.' ” . . .

What's with Fox News, and why is it moving left?

Legal Insurrection
Jack Hellner  "I used to enjoy watching Fox News with news host Bret Baier, which was a great remedy to ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.  But not all that much anymore, because it seems to be going left.  (Correction: Fox News ratings are not declining, as earlier indicated, and FNC has been #1 in cable news for 22 weeks in a row.)
"I see it in places I'd never expect.  Take Baier.  Recently, Baier said he has a tough time explaining Sean Hannity.  Bret has been moving left just like the Wall Street Journal's editorial page has.  (The news section has long been hopelessly left-wing.)
"Why are Baier and so many others acting so out of character?  I think it's because all those people obviously want to be liked by their peers and don't care about their viewers.  Instead of giving us any sort of balance in the news, they are rapidly coming to resemble their peers.
"How about a tough time explaining Juan Williams?  Does Baier have a tough time explaining Williams?
"Tonight, Baier had Mort Kondracke, a leftist, on his show, whose first comment was to call Trump a racist and a xenophobe.
"Then Fred Barnes, who works for Weekly Standard, which has been anti-Trump since 2015, came on.
"After that, we got treated to Mara Laisson from NPR, which is an openly far-left organization.
"OK, he did have Byron York.
"But it seemed like just a nod to the right, and it wasn't enough, given what Fox's competitors are putting out.  What's more, we know the network is in some kind of civil war with itself over these very ideological issues.  Read this here.
"Now we have no channel to watch on the nightly news that gives any sort of balance."

Time Magazine: Ok, The Story Is Fake…But It’s Real In Our Hearts. Update: Time apologized

The young girl’s father eventually stepped forward to say that his daughter was not separated from her mother at the border. The family left together. Furthermore, the mother was not seeking asylum of any sort but rather just looking for work.
RedState   "It’s like the “fake news” media just can’t help but make Trump’s whacky points for him over and over and over again. No matter how insane he might sound at times, the echo-chamber that houses mainstream news coverage somehow manages to slip on the banana peel he throws down every time.

"This week the Democrats were somehow able to look up from their own navels long enough to remember who they were and the power they used to wield. For a moment they have been able to successfully reach into their tired bag of tricks and lay an immigration crisis that has been going on for decades at the feet of President Trump. Well, played. Except…
"Time Magazine just couldn’t help themselves, despite being nailed for their photoshop antics multiple times over the years (O.J.Simpson, anyone?). The point was clear – here is a little girl stuck at the border, crying and pleading for her mother…a mother Trump is single-handedly and uncaringly snatching from her grasping arms."

. . . "Time magazine has issued a correction to a controversial cover story about a Honduran migrant girl who they said was taken from her mother by US border patrol agents after it was revealed that the pair were never separated at all.
"Three-year-old Yanela Denise became the unintentional face of the now defunct family separation crisis after photographer John Moore captured her agonized face screaming as her mother was questioned by agents on June 12. " . . .

Google ‘Internet,’ Media!

Ann Coulter  "Journalists know absolutely nothing about immigration and refuse to learn, so when I cited the fraudulent “humanitarian” cases on TV Sunday night, I footnoted myself live on air, citing a New Yorker article as well as my book, “Adios, America,” which has nearly 100 pages of footnotes. That should make it easy for even the stupidest reporters.
"You haven’t met The Hill’s Jacqueline Thomsen! She was at a loss. The New Yorker? What’s that? Jacqueline thought and thought and thought, until her head hurt! Finally, she decided, as she wrote in The Hill, “It’s unclear what New Yorker article Coulter was referring to.”
"Armed only with the information that there was an article in a tiny little publication known as “The New Yorker” about asylum applicants being coached on their fake asylum claims, how could an American reporter ever hope to locate “The Asylum Seeker” in the Aug. 1, 2011, New Yorker? Forget “Adios, America,” where it is cited, along with many, many other sources. I can’t read a BOOK, Thomsen thought to herself.
"I Googled “New Yorker asylum,” and the article I was referring to came up as the third item in the list. Add “coaching” or “coached,” and it’s the very first item Google gives you. It took 3 seconds.

"Thomsen: HOW DOES GOOGLE WORK, ANYWAY?
"The New Yorker article begins with “Caroline,” an illegal alien from a middle-class family in Africa, who passed herself off to U.S. immigration authorities as a victim of rape and torture. " . . .

Speier Defends Hecklers Who Shouted at Nielsen in Restaurant, Blames It on Trump; The Left "Descends Into Odium"

As for the women like Griffin and Bee?  They are the ultimate examples of the evils that feminism wrought: unrelenting anger at real men.  They loved Obama precisely because he was never a real man, certainly not for those of us of a certain age.  He was and remains the perfect pajama boy of his Obamacare dream, a feminized, immature, 98-pound weakling, in mind, body, and spirit. *
Have we not yet learned to fear for this nation and for what the left's desire to do to our country?
Townhall
Washington Free Beacon   "Rep. Jackie Speier (D., Calif.) on Wednesday defended protesters who shouted at Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen until she was forced to leave a restaurant Tuesday night.
"CNN’s Erin Burnett asked Speier about the protesters, who were organized by the Metro D.C. Democratic Socialists of America to heckle Nielsen over the administration's immigration policy. Speier said the protest was "probably spontaneous."
" 'What happened there was probably spontaneous. Those weren't progressives; those were just people who are disgusted by the way the administration has thought it was okay to separate parents and their children," Speier said.
"The heckling was not spontaneous, according to the New York Times, which reported that the socialist group came to the restaurant after finding out Nielsen was there.
"After Burnett pressed Speier on whether heckling people at private restaurants was acceptable, the congresswoman blamed President Donald Trump.
"I ' suppose everyone has the right to have dinner wherever they want," Speier said. "And I can't speak to whether that was spontaneous from people that were in the restaurant or if people followed her there. I don't know the facts and the situation."
"Speier argued that it was Trump’s fault that people would have such a "reaction" to his "hate.' " . . . (Emphases added, TD)

*The left's descent into the abyss of odium   "Each passing day seems to take the talking heads and camera-hog Democrats deeper into their self-made circles of Hell.  They have lost all semblance of civility, and they all support each other's public, venal, profane, and frenzied attacks on all things Trump.  They defend the most disgusting and thoroughly indefensible media and social media attacks on the president and his family.
"Kathy Griffin, Samantha Bee, Robert De Niro, Peter Fonda, Joy Behar, etc.  It's a long list.  Many of these people, perhaps most, are parents and grandparents.  What on Earth is it about Trump that makes them speak and write like vicious mean girls at a snooty private middle school?  The truth is that they were never as smart, elite, classy as they pretended to be.  They are none of those things.  Instead, as we now know, they are wholly without class or grace or humility.  And they lack an understanding of American history, the Constitution, and its profundity.  They are only about power and contempt for those they deem their inferiors: the rest of us." . . .

VDH: Scandals Sanitized with Linguistic Trickery

Victor Davis Hanson

"Throughout Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s massive report on the Hillary Clinton email investigation are lots of strange things. One of the weirdest is the extent to which the FBI went to make up words and phrases to disguise reality.
"An early draft of the 2016 FBI report on the email scandal was reportedly subjected to linguistic surgery to exonerate the former secretary of state, who at the time was the Democratic nominee for president. Clinton was originally found to be “grossly negligent” in using an illegal email server. That legalistic phrase is used by prosecutors to indict for violation of laws governing the wrongful transmission of confidential government documents.
"Yet the very thought of a likely President Clinton in court so worried the chief investigator, FBI Director James Comey, that he watered down “grossly negligent” to the mere “extremely careless.”
"FBI investigators also had concluded that it was “reasonably likely” foreign nations had read Clinton’s unsecured emails. Comey intervened to mask such a likelihood by substituting the more neutral word “possible.”
"Former President Barack Obama was found to have improperly communicated with Clinton over her illegal server while she was in a foreign country. Obama had denied that fact by falsely claiming that he never knew of her server until much later, after it was publicized.
"The FBI hierarchy under Comey tried to hide the embarrassing details of Obama’s conduct. As a result, the FBI deleted Obama’s name from its report. In its place, the FBI inserted the laughable “another senior government official”—as if the president of the United States was just another Washington grandee who had improperly communicated on an illicit email server." . . .

Trump: Melania's jacket 'refers to the Fake News Media'

The Hill  "The Daily Mail first reported on Thursday that Melania Trump was photographed wearing the Zara jacket while boarding a plane to visit immigrant children held in detention centers. The visit came the day after President Trump signed an executive order undoing his own policy of separating families who cross the border illegally.
"Critics were quick to attack the first lady's fashion choice, calling it insensitive.
"Democratic Rep. Dina Titus tweeted out her own version of the jacket by wearing a sign attached to her back, reading "I Care."
