CNN plans climate change town hall after staffer reveals plan to sell climate 'fear' in leaked recording

CNN plans climate change town hall after staffer reveals plan to sell climate 'fear' in leaked recording   "Technical director told Project Veritas climate change will be 'next COVID thing' for CNN"

"CNN is set to host a live town hall with senior Biden administration officials this weekend on the topic of climate change, weeks after a network employee told an undercover journalist the network planned to push "fear" about the issue.

"The town hall, moderated by CNN anchor Dana Bash, will focus on "The Climate Crisis" and will air on Friday night to mark this year's celebration of Earth Day, the network announced.

"The participants include Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, all of whom will be asked about Biden's campaign promise to remake American climate policy.

"Earlier this month, right-wing guerilla news outlet Project Veritas published a series of explosive conversations between one of its reporters and a CNN technical director named Charles Chester. In one of the conversations, Chester revealed that following the "COVID fatigue" from CNN's coverage of the pandemic, the network will "start focusing mainly on climate.' " . . .

""Our focus was to get Trump out of office," Chester said. "Without saying it, that's what it was, right? So our next thing is going to be for climate change awareness."

" 'Do you think it's going to be just like a lot of like fear for the climate?" the undercover journalist asked.

" 'Yeah. Fear sells," Chester responded.

" 'Who decides that?" the journalist asked.

" 'The head of the network," Chester answered.

" 'Who's that? Is that Zucker?" she followed, referring to CNN President Jeff Zucker.

" 'Zucker, yeah," Chester replied.

"In another exchange, Chester repeated that climate change is "going to be the next COVID thing for CNN" that "we're going to hone in on.' " . . .

Chester: “It's going to be our [CNN’s] focus. Like our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that's what it was, right? So, our next thing is going to be for climate change awareness.” "
Chester: “We would always show shots of him [Biden] jogging and that [he’s] healthy, you know, and him in aviator shades. Like you paint him as a young geriatric.”
"Chester went on to say that COVID-19 media coverage should be coming to an end in the near future. He added that CNN is already preparing its shift in coverage to push and promote climate change fear."
“ 'I think there's a COVID fatigue. So, like whenever a new story comes up, they're [CNN’s] going to latch onto it. They've already announced in our office that once the public is -- will be open to it -- we're going to start focusing mainly on climate,” Chester said.
"Chester: It's going to be our [CNN’s] focus. Like our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that's what it was, right? So, our next thing is going to be climate change awareness.
"Veritas Journalist: “What does that look like?”
"Chester: “I don't know. I'm not sure. I have a feeling that it’s going to be like, constantly showing videos of decline in ice, and weather warming up, and like the effects it’s having on the economy--' ” . . .

The roots of this notion polluting our schools that it's racist to make a black student actually answer the question.

Dumbing down schools in the name of 'equity'  . . . "The intellectually gifted among us are a precious resource needing careful cultivation, for they create new knowledge that grows our economy and keeps our national defense strong.  This is so obvious that it ought not even need stating.

"Educating down to the level of the lowest common denominator will ultimately impoverish and militarily defeat us, a national catastrophe.  As Richard Baehr asks, rhetorically: "Do you think China will try this to achieve equity among its various peoples?' " . . .

NO MORE TESTS: WE SHOULD MEASURE BLACK KIDS ON THEIR "DESIRE TO KNOW." (St. Ibram, 2019)

. . . "First, instead of emphasizing the kinds of racial differences that economists and sociologists usually study (parents’ economic resources, parents’ position in the occupational hierarchy, parents’ exposure to formal education, and parents’ living arrangements), successful theories will take more account of the factors that psychologists have traditionally emphasized (the way family members interact with one another and with the outside world, for example). A good explanation of why white five-year-olds have bigger vocabularies than black five-year-olds is likely to focus on how much the parents talk to their children, how they deal with their children’s questions, and how they react when their children either learn or fail to learn something, not on how much money the parents have.

"Second, instead of looking mainly for resource differences between predominantly black and predominantly white schools, successful theories will probably have to look more carefully at the way black and white children respond to the same classroom experiences, such as being in a smaller classroom, having a more competent teacher, having a teacher of their own race, or having a teacher with high expectations for those who perform below the norm for their age group.

"Successful theories will therefore have to pay more attention to psychological and cultural influences, which are much harder to measure than income, education, and living arrangements. Collecting accurate data on black and white parents’ habits, values, behavior, and ideas is not easy, and it would take time." . . .

Is it racist to expect black kids to do math for real?   "Yes, serious people are arguing this. Make sure they don't infect your school district." . . .

No police to intervene: Where Are LeBron and the Media? 13-Year-Old Cincinnati Girl Stabbed to Death by Another 13-Year-Old Girl

RedState

"It is approximately 110 miles between Columbus, Ohio, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

"But apparently, news travels slowly between those two communities because LeBron James and the national media have not yet mentioned Monday’s death of 13-year-old  Nyaira Givens who was stabbed to death by another 13-year-old girl during a fight near her family’s home in Winton Hills, a suburb of Cincinnati.

"Givens’ father held her in his arms as the life drained away from her body, helpless to do anything to prevent her from dying.

“I held her. I watched her as she died. I watched her, you know. All I could do was just hold her, hold her,” Maurice Jackson said.

Devastation, heartache and loss are all emotions that Jackson, Nyaira Givens’ father, is feeling after her sudden death.

“I tried. I tried to stop the bleeding,” Jackson said.

"The 13-year-old Nyaira, a high school freshman, didn’t wake up Monday morning with the thought that it would be her last day on earth.  But she had been involved in a series of incidents with an “off-and-on” friend from school, and there was a confrontation between them on Monday afternoon.

"Her assailant, not named in the media because of her age, made her first appearance in court on Wednesday." . . .
