New sizes at Starbucks (Updated)

PCWorld  "Forget about Tall, Grande and Venti, Starbucks has two new sizes: Plenta and Micra. The Plenta is a 128-ounce drink for caffeine addicts who can't get enough coffee, and for those who need just a tiny sip, you can get the 2-ounce Micra. And don't worry about all that paper waste from the new Plenta sized-cup, Starbucks says you can reuse your gigantic Plenta cups in a number of useful ways including as a planter, lampshade or yoga block."

Racist Van Jones Rally Cheered 9/11 Attacks

fastcompany.com
Big Government  "When Obama administration Green jobs czar Anthony “Van” K. Jones resigned late Saturday night, September 5, 2009 over the long Labor Day weekend, a storm of breaking news about his radical anti-American history was being reported by conservative bloggers. One such storm was about the racist, hate-America rally Van Jones held the day after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States where speakers cheered the attacks and Jones himself said America deserved it."

Text of Van Jones remarks:
■“It’s the bombs that the government has been dropping around the world that are now blowing up inside the U.S. borders.”
■“We’ve got something stronger than bombs, we have solidarity. That dream of revolutionary change is stronger than bombs.”
"That second item sounds a bit like someone who occupies the White House, doesn’t it?
"No wonder Jones resigned just after midnight on Sunday, mere hours after Powerline spilled the beans about what Jones said at this event.
"Also, at about the 3:05 mark, someone who may have been the inspiration for Obama pastor Jeremiah Wright’s sermon (at 2:10 through 2:45 of the video at the link) the next Sunday, talked of “chickens comin’ home to roost.” Imagine that."

Gateway Pundit  "The video also shows one speaker praising the 9-11 attackers as heroes. Disgusting… Yet this radical activist is still a hero on the left."

Chuck Schumer, Democrats and their techniques of demagoguery

Chuck Schumer Caught on Tape Instructing Fellow Dems on How to Spin Media, Networks Ignore
"The New York Times' Caucus blog explained:"
After thanking his colleagues — Barbara Boxer of California, Benjamin L. Cardin of Maryland, Thomas R. Carper of Delaware and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut — for doing the budget bidding for the Senate Democrats, who are facing off against the House Republicans over how to cut spending for the rest of the fiscal year, Mr. Schumer told them to portray John A. Boehner of Ohio, the speaker of the House, as painted into a box by the Tea Party, and to decry the spending cuts that he wants as extreme. “I always use the word extreme,” Mr. Schumer said. “That is what the caucus instructed me to use this week.”
The Extremists are Coming! The Extremists are Coming!  "Any casual observer of Schumer over the years knows labeling opponents extremists is his stock in trade, as ubiquitous as his Sunday press conferences. In Schumer's world, anyone to the right of Joseph Stalin is an extremist. What's newsworthy, I suppose, is the media finally notices this and the coordinated efforts by Democrats trash Republicans at every opportunity. Still, it'll be in the news cycle for a short period, quickly forgotten until the next press conference, when he'll probably change things up and call the GOP "radical extremists" instead."

Media Matters’ War on Fox News

NATIONAL REVIEW ONLINE "And we thought we had you. Using the media that really matters for America — our lapdog media, whose stories are written and broadcast by our friends from the old neighborhood, the same people we still live among on the Upper West Side, in Brentwood, on the Cape, and on the Island — we had kept Amerikkka blinkered and blindfolded, distracting the rubes from our slow-moving demolition derby with trash-culture stories whenever it seemed your side might finally be waking up. Ohio town is taking the 'Easter' out of its annual egg hunt

nbc17.com  "As the White House prepares for its annual Easter Egg Roll -- a tradition dating back to 1878 -- some in the community of Munson Township are asking if it's okay in Washington, how could the word "Easter" offend someone in this small rural community?
"Still, township trustees are opting to call this year's Easter weekend event "The Spring Egg Hunt.""

Workers rights?

Worker's rights? Give me a break  "Right now in this country the government employee unions literally hire the people that they negotiate with. This they do with massive union contributions and get out the vote support for the candidates they favor. When it comes time to negotiate for wages or benefits the union leaders know that the very people that they're negotiating with our people that they put in office. The unwritten language of these negotiation sessions is: "
""Look, give us what we want and then go to the taxpayers to get the money that you need to pay for it..."

Put up our sign or else! Wisconsin's new union protection racket  "Terri Gray the executive director for the chamber said that the union push started earlier in the week and it is not yet clear if their tactics were having an impact on local business.
"When reached for comment on Wednesday, Jesse Jackson said that the tactics being used by the unions seemed reasonable to him. Of course Jesse encourages his union pals to “remain nonviolent and disciplined in their protests,” wink-wink."

"Dawn Bobo shows the sign that she put in the front window of herstore, Village Dollar, 1000 Main St. in Union Grove, Wednesday March 30, 2011. Her store is one of numerous Union Grove businesses threatened with "public boycotts" by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union. According to the letter businesses received Tuesday, they will be targeted for declining to display a sign stating, "This business supports workers rights," with an AFSCME logo"

Boortz: "Union Thuggery" "Now the unions are cranking up some intimidation tactics in Wisconsin. Members of the Wisconsin State Employees Union - AFSCME Council 24 - are now hammering Wisconsin businesses to support their so-called "workers' rights" campaign. Jim Parrett, a field representative of Council 24 for Southeast Wisconsin, is circulating a letter to businesses stating the following:"
If businesses fail to comply, the letter says, "Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members...."
Are Workers Choosing Unions, or Are Unions Choosing Them? "Not only does this new rule disregard a fair and democratic precedent that’s been maintained in the industry for 75 years, it does so in the face of an American public fed up with regulatory agencies’ infringing upon private industry. In a time when our country is clearly calling for less intrusion on free enterprise in order to stimulate our weak economy and create more jobs, why should union bosses be allowed to unfairly take control of more industries for their own political incentives?" Rep. Phil Gingrey is a Republican congressman from Georgia.

Who Are the Rebels Fighting Libyan Government Forces?

GlobalSecurity.org  "Fighter planes and missiles from the international coalition are continuing to hit the forces of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. The stated goal is to protect civilians, but many analysts say the international coalition has become, in essence, the rebels' air force. But who exactly are the rebels? Obama Cried, Kids Died

Ann Coulter  "Soon after President Bush's 9/11 speech vowing to go to war not only with terrorists, but those who supported them, Gadhafi accepted responsibility for the Lockerbie bombing and paid the victims' families $8 million apiece.
"After Bush invaded Iraq, Gadhafi suspended Libya's nuclear and chemical weapons program, inviting international inspectors to verify that the programs had been halted.
"A few years after that, Gadhafi paid millions of dollars to the victims of other Libyan-sponsored terrorist attacks from the '80s. In return, President Bush granted Libya immunity from terror-related lawsuits. "

Alan Caruba: Liberals I Loathe

Warning Signs  "Politics is not patty cake. Jimmy Carter’s Ill-Timed Visit to Cuba

Heritage  "The meeting will gloss over the Cuban regime’s unwavering support for Libya’s Muammar Qadhafi and condone the travesty of Fidel’s comparison of U.S.–NATO actions in Libya with the Fascists/Nazi attacks on Republican Spain in the 1930s.
"The visit will undercut the harder line taken by President Obama just last week in Santiago, Chile. There, in his major Latin American policy speech, Obama voiced frustration with the absence of democratic change in Cuba and reminded his audience that the Cuban people are “entitled to the same freedom and liberty as everyone else in this hemisphere.”"

Why is Jimmy Carter really in Cuba? "There's a lot of speculation that former U.S. President Jimmy Carter flew into Cuba Monday morning with a hidden agenda--gaining the release of U.S. contractor Alan Gross jailed for more than a year before being sentenced to 15 years in a two day trial for sedition earlier this month."

Russell Brand as...as...the EASTER BUNNY? (Updated)

'Hop' movie premiere: Russell Brand, James Marsden and the Hoff  "Married life sure has turned Russell Brand into a sweet little bunny -- or, wait, maybe that's the work of "Hop," which features Brand as a teenage bunny..."
Just be aware of the hack job this Obamite did on all American voters who did not support Barack Obama and on President Bush.

Russell Brand calls George Bush a ‘retard’ at MTV awards   "Ignoring the renowned patriotism of Americans, Brand told the Hollywood audience they must vote for Barrack Obama “on behalf of the world”, before insinuating that America had lower standards than Britain when it came to picking leaders.
"Some people, I think they’re called racists, say America is not ready for a black president."   Watch this if you can.

Russell Brand upsets MTV audience with sex and politics  "The comedian angered some in attendance by repeatedly joking about the Jonas Brothers, the sons of a pastor, all of whom wear purity rings as a symbol of their vow not to have premarital sex."
American Idol winner Jordin Sparks called Brand a "slut" when she came on stage, prompting Brand to apologise to the boy band."

The source of Brand's expertise on the subject.

MTV piles on the Palin family; host Russell Brand promotes Obama, bashes America, Bush, and Christians; viewer backlash; transcript added   "Wow. Check out the viewer backlash at the MTV Labs Blog. Looks like Brand also mocked Christian youths who wear promise rings and ridiculed the popular Jonas Brothers band as well. A sample:"... Michelle Malkin

British Columnist Under Investigation For Criticizing Terrorists

Melanie Phillips "...it appears that you can no longer refer to Arab depravity in the slaughter of an Israeli family — including a three month-old baby — as they slept without someone going to the police to get you arrested for racism.
"This is what happened to me. I wrote on my blog about the ‘the moral depravity of the Arabs’ who had murdered Udi and Ruth Fogel and their three children, 11-year-old Yoav, four-year-old Elad and three-month-old Hadas in their home in the Samarian neighbourhood of Itamar, near Nablus, by cutting their throats while most of them were asleep."
....
"So hurting the feelings of a ‘powerless victim’ group becomes a crime. The giving of offence becomes a criminal offence.
"Accordingly, British police forces have established ‘hate crime’ units to police the giving of offence against a wide range of ‘victim’ groups covering ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
"Into this Orwellian universe has stepped radical Islam. Muslim activists have exploited the hysteria over ‘Islamophobia’ and racism to represent any criticism of Islam as a hate-crime and thus suppress necessary debate about Islamic extremism."

Mr. Obama's Speech

Obama Leaves Libya Questions Unanswered  "From the outset of operations in Libya, the best option was always “to minimize the commitment of the U.S. military, look after the best interests of Libya’s civilian population, and limit the spread of terrorism and instability throughout the region.” While the president promised last night to pursue such a course—the real challenge now begins—and there are still far too few details of how the White House will deliver on these promises."
http://townhall.com/political-cartoons/lisabenson

Boortz on The Speech " I'm still of the opinion that Libya presented no threat to any vital American interests, and that this is essentially a civil war. That matters not at this point. America is in, let's do the job and get out. And then maybe we can ask questions as to why Barack Obama didn't lend the same level of support to the rebels in Iran that he did to those in Libya. After all, Qaddafi eliminated his nuclear program -- and Iran's is still going strong."

Obama's speech a mix of lies and wishful thinking  "And this brings us to more wishful thinking by Obama. Does he really believe that just because NATO will be in nominal control that the world won't see the US as still being in charge of the operation? And if this thing goes south, who does he think the world will blame? France?"

The Debate Over U.S. Libya Intervention "...So which side is right? Does the president have constitutional authority to authorize U.S. military operations in Libya without congressional approval?

The Libyan Psychodrama/ It’s all about Obama.  "Foreign policy is made from such grim choices, a lesson the more mature President Obama of 2011 would have found challenging to explain to the childlike Candidate Obama of 2008.
"The rest of the President’s address was an exercise in psychodrama, a weird journey through the mind of a narcissist who can’t believe all the nasty things people are saying about him." ....
"Obama concluded with a clumsy attempt to tie Operation Odyssey Dawn into his perpetual presidential campaign, waxing poetic about “deeply held principles” and how “young people are leading the way.”  Well, young people in Palestine are firing rockets into civilian populations, and slashing Israeli families into bloody shreds while they sleep. " Emphasis added.

Those Afghan "kill teams": Calling BS On Rolling Stone

Michael Yon
Michael Yon  "This could go on for pages, but Rolling Stone is not worth it, and thrashing them might only build their readership. I’ve found in the past that boycotts work. I led a boycott against one magazine and it went bankrupt. It’s doubtful that Rolling Stone will go bankrupt for its sins, but you can cost them money not by boycotting their magazine, but by boycotting their advertisers. That hurts. Just pick an advertiser whose products you already buy, boycott it, and tell the advertiser why you are not buying their product."

NPR reported this:  "Yesterday, Rolling Stone published new pictures of U.S. Army soldiers posing with the corposes(sp) and mutilated cadavers of Afghans."

Decoding Libya / Sharia can tell us how this story ends.

Andrew C. McCarthy  "We’ve seen this show before. The rebels are not rebels — they are the Libyan mujahideen. Like the Afghan mujahideen, including those that became al-Qaeda and the Taliban, the Libyan mujahideen comprise different groups. What overwhelmingly unites them, besides opposition to Qaddafi, is sharia. The Libyan mujahideen will exploit us but never befriend us. If they succeed, so be it. But we have no vital interest in orchestrating that success, even if it would mean a thug like Qaddafi finally gets his just deserts. If we empower them, we will eventually rue the day."

Obama's Libya speech reverb watch (Updated)

Thomas Lifson  "President Obama prefers conspicuous reverb, giving his voice a god-like quality, so the extent of the reverb will be an indication of his desperation.
"It is a sad commentary on President Obama's pickle that he is once again retreating into campaign mode, requiring the services of an audience to lend authority to his explanation."

Obama: Okay, if you insist, I’ll explain the war to Americans  "But the country knows we are engaged in a major military action, knows the United States is running the show and knows the president isn’t really focused on foreign OR domestic policy. The president’s reticence has only annoyed the liberal base (which reflexively opposes military action) and made it hard for conservatives to defend his policy."

The World's Greatest Orator is the worst communicator of recent times..   "Obama's indifferent performance in taking the country to war--sorry, to KLAM--can be explained by his indifference to the topic. By all accounts, he followed the lead of Hillary Clinton and her kettle of hawk hens, just as America followed the lead of the French, the British and the Arab League.
"But Obama cared about ObamaCare, and he couldn't sell the public on that either. Has he ever managed to convince anyone of anything of substance?"

Obama’s Meglomania: What He Should Say Tonight About Libya "The Europeans played Obama so easily because they appealed to his guilt instincts.  Obama sincerely believes that under Bush the United States was a Cowboy Empire,  insensitive to the sophisticates in Europe.  He has been all to eager to demonstrate that he’s different and willing to allow them to lead.   What Obama failed to take into account is that Europe has a history of wanting the fruits of military power without actually having military power."

Victor Davis Hanson: Libyan Endgames  "Given the above, and given the fact that this intervention was a bad idea, poorly articulated and not thought out from the very beginning, the best denouement is to get Qaddafi and get him quickly. Let us hope that, whatever the president says, he has advisers who see what must be done."

US is sliding into long-term military involvement in Libya "...Instead of a transition “in a few days” to NATO ...which US President Barack Obama will no doubt reiterate when he addresses the nation Tuesday... the United States is sliding deeper day by day into a third war in a Muslim country." Iranian Rulers, Believing Pre-Messianic Destruction Is Imminent, Make Film To Prepare Muslims

Pajamas Media "According to the Hadith, in the age of The Coming a revolution takes place in Iran. This is a key sign indicating that the reappearance is near, and serves as the initial preparation in the worldwide movement for The Coming of the last messiah. Based on this belief, the leaders of Iran see it as their duty to prepare the ground for The Coming.
"One of the most important keys to securing the reappearance of the last messiah — as called for in the Hadith — is the annihilation of Israel, and the conquering of Beitol Moghadas (Jerusalem). They state with conviction that Islam will soon conquer the world, and that all infidels will be destroyed.
"The pursuit of nuclear bombs by the radicals ruling Iran is directly connected to this belief: war, chaos, and lawlessness must engulf the world to pave the way for Imam Mahdi’s reappearance."

The Paradox of Tolerance "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. "ANARCHISTS" IN LONDON

Neal Boortz  Boortz says riots in the UK are led by anarchists, but riots in the US will be led by labor unions and Democrats.
"Are you starting to get an idea of what the next year is going to look like in this country?  We are going to have one powerful group of people, Democrats, looking to regain lost power; and another powerful group of people, union leaders, working frantically to prevent an erosion of their power.  These two groups of people, Democrats and unions, feed off of one another.  Democrats rely on the unions for financial support and volunteer help during elections, and unions rely on Democrats for political protection.  What very lovely symbiotic relationship we have here!  Just who is that left standing on the outside?  Why that's you!  The taxpayer!  Democrats certainly don't derive any power from taxpaying Americans.  Their power comes from the moocher class who don't pay taxes, government employees, and labor unions. " Emphasis added.

A recent statewide poll in California shows just how much pension scandals involving government workers has shifted the political canvas.. "Marcia Fritz, a Democrat who heads the California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility, says if the impasse continues there is likely to be a ballot measure put before voters to roll back pension promises. "The taxpayer as well as essential government services are being crushed by unsustainable pension obligations," she told me." John Fund.

Obama and Libya: The professor’s war

Charles Krauthammer  "In any case, for Obama, military objectives take a back seat to diplomatic appearances. The president is obsessed with pretending that we are not running the operation — a dismaying expression of Obama’s view that his country is so tainted by its various sins that it lacks the moral legitimacy to . . . what? Save Third World people from massacre?
"Obama seems equally obsessed with handing off the lead role. Hand off to whom? NATO? Quarreling amid Turkish resistance (see above), NATO still can’t agree on taking over command of the airstrike campaign, which is what has kept the Libyan rebels alive."

The Debt Crisis and Cynicism

Stan Guthrie  in Breakpoint  " Political observers say that Obama may be setting up Republicans to put forward an austerity budget—and then punish them as hard-hearted grinches in 2012, figuring voters aren’t really serious about the debt crisis after all.
"If we fall for our president’s cynical ploy, then the impending fiscal and moral disaster will make the deep and painful recession we are experiencing now look like a pothole."

WHICH IS THE TRUE "APARTHEID" STATE, ISRAEL OR FATAH CONTROLLED SAMARIA AND HAMAS CONTROLLED GAZA?

Astute Blogger  "Judea and Samaria have been known by these names for unbroken centuries, and were registered as such on official documents and maps, by international institutions and in authoritative reference books right up to about 1950. When the correct names became a problem for Palestinian Arabs trying to make their newly-minted claim on the land, it somehow became "politically correct" to use "West Bank" or "occupied territories" instead of the historically accurate names Judea and Samaria."

Understanding the third terror war

Caroline Glick  "The Palestinians recognize that they don't need to pretend to be good to get Europe to support them. After the people of Europe have been brainwashed by their media and intimidated by the Muslim communities, they have developed a Pavlovian response regarding Israel whereby every mention of Israel makes them hate it more. It doesn't matter if the story is about the massacre of Israeli children or the bombing of synagogues and nursery schools. They know that Israel is the guilty party and expect their governments to punish it."
Caroline Glick's credentials and why she is worth reading:
I grew up in Chicago's ultra-liberal, anti-American and anti-Israel stronghold of Hyde Park. Hyde Park's newest famous resident is Barack Obama. He fits right into a neighborhood I couldn't wait to leave....
From 1994-1996, as an IDF captain, I served as Coordinator of Negotiations with the PLO in the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. In this capacity I was a core member of Israel’s negotiating team with the Palestinians....
During Operation Iraqi Freedom, I covered the US-led war in Iraq as an embedded journalist with the US Army’s 3rd Infantry Division. Reporting for the Post, Maariv, Israel TV’s Channel 2 and the Chicago Sun Times, I was one of the only female journalists on the front lines with the US forces and the first Israeli journalist to report from liberated Baghdad....

Coordinated Terrorist Attacks on Global Energy Infrastructure: Modeling the Risks

Insider Online  The abstract states in part: "Careful implementation of select policies could limit the economic damage, but implementation of misguided policies could easily make such a crisis even worse. The United States and its allies would need to exercise decisive and effective leadership to deal with the crisis, but this requires the U.S. to develop an assertive international energy policy, preferably before such a crisis."

Media Matters Plans "Guerrilla Warfare and Sabotage” on Fox News And Conservative Websites

Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion  "The attacks will be very personal, extending not just to Fox News coverage (which is fair game for criticism) but trying to dig up dirt on Fox News executives:"
Media Matters, he said, is also conducting “opposition research” on a dozen or so “mid- and senior-level execs and producers,” a campaign style move that he and Brock said would simply involve recording their public appearances and digging into public records associated with them.
"But it doesn't stop at Fox News. Media Matters also plans to attack conservative websites:"

I fear for all those conservatives who stand against Obama and the Democrats. They already have a site dedicated to destroying Darrel Issa and the political atmosphere is becoming toxic for all conservatives by design of the left.  A deep darkness appears to have descended on political discourse in this nation. Tunnel Dweller.

Media Matters  See for yourself what they are doing.

From Politico : Media Matters' war against Fox  "The group, launched as a more traditional media critic, has all but abandoned its monitoring of newspapers and other television networks and is narrowing its focus to Fox and a handful of conservative websites, which its leaders view as political organizations and the “nerve center” of the conservative movement."

President Obama’s weak message to Latin America

Washington Post editorial!  "Most curious was Mr. Obama’s decision to simply ignore the fact that in large parts of Latin America, the “shared values” that he said bind the hemisphere are being trampled. In a speech directed to the region that he delivered in Santiago, the president declared that “today, Latin America is democratic” — even though rulers in a number of countries are shutting down media, eliminating judicial independence and rigging elections. He said “Latin America is contributing to global prosperity and security,” even though many of those same rulers are forging ties with Iran and have been defending the regime of Libya’s Moammar Gaddafi."

Dem Senator Lautenberg: Republicans Don’t Deserve Freedom’s of Constitution

LifeNews
Democrat dept. of Civility "“Planned Parenthood is under attack by Tea Party Republicans who have put their extremist ideology above women’s health,” Lautenberg said while pro-life advocates who counterprotested shouted, “Shame on you, Lautenberg.”
"The pro-abortion New Jersey senator fired back: “These people (referring to the pro-life advocates) don’t deserve the freedoms in the Constitution.”
"Then, as an afterthought, he said, “but we’ll give it to them anyway.”
"The comment is coming under heavy criticism from Marie Tasy, the director of New Jersey Right to Life."

Foreign Policy as Wishful Thinking

Bruce S. Thornton  "The current military intervention in Libya by the West has been marketed with the claim that its purpose, as French President Sarkozy put it, is “to protect the civilian population from the murderous madness of a regime that has forfeited all claim to legitimacy.” Behind this humanitarian idealism, however, lurk a host of questions and dangers, reflecting wishful thinking rather than a prudent foreign policy."

In six weeks, Obama fails miserably at what Bush père did so very well in one  "And in a straight-forward but powerful speech to America and the world on the evening of August 8, he laid out exactly what he had done, was doing, and promised to do about Saddam's invasion of Kuwait.
"It was an expanded version of the same message he'd had since his very first public statements on the crisis: "This will not stand." No bluster, nothing grand, and certainly no diplomatic double-speak, but just the kind of grim and absolutely credible determination the American men of his generation were known for."

Rick Moran  "Shortly after unrest broke out in eastern Libya in mid-February, reports emerged that an "Islamic Emirate" had been declared in the eastern Libyan town of Darnah and that, furthermore, the alleged head of that Emirate, Abdul-Hakim al-Hasadi, was a former detainee at the American prison camp in GuantĂ¡namo. The reports, which originated from Libyan government sources, were largely ignored or dismissed in the Western media.
"Now, however, al-Hasadi has admitted in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore that he fought against American forces in Afghanistan."

Former Guantanamo Detainee Denies Islamic Emirate Has Been Set Up in Eastern Libya [UPDATE:1]  "Libya’s deputy foreign minister, Khaled Khaim, has reportedly told European Union ambassadors in Tripoli that al-Qaeda has set up an Islamic emirate in Derna in Eastern Libya. He allegedly said a former Guantanamo Bay detainee is heading the emirate. Residents in Derna deny this has happened."

Libyan opposition leader wasn't held at Guantanamo  "In his interviews with Western publications, Al Hasadi has denied that he was held at Gitmo. And while that is not necessarily dispositive in and of itself, there is no record of his detention at Gitmo in any of the declassified files that have been produced and released from the military detention facility.
"This doesn't mean that al Hasadi, who says he is in charge of defending Derna, a known hotbed for Islamic extremism in eastern Libya, is necessarily a benign actor, however." From The Long War Journal

Environmentalists, farmers clash over water quality rules

CaliforniaWatch  via California Chronicle "Regulators estimate that out of 7 million irrigated acres of land in the Central Valley, between 2.5 million and 3 million acres would fall under the “highest threat” category. Areas where very little is known about groundwater quality are also considered a high threat. Some types of farms, like organic farms, would receive almost no regulation."
If California was a convict, he would be placed on suicide watch.

The Abbott and Costello Libya Strategy

Donald Trump and the Birth Certificate

American Thinker  "But run for the highest office in the land and it's bad form to enquire if the candidate can pass one of the two very low bars to the presidency. Age and natural-born citizenship are low bars. I happen to think that a presidential candidate should pass a background check for a security clearance, because it's s an open question whether Bill Clinton or Barack Hussein Obama would pass such a check, but the Constitution does not require that. Just age and birth. Easily determined."

Imagine for a moment: say it is proven that Mr. Obama is NOT a citizen of this country as required by the Constitution. He is required to step down, Obama supporters take to the streets and something like this happens all across the US.

Obamacare One Year Later: Why America Needs Full Repeal Now

Heritage  "Raising Costs, Fewer Options:
Higher Premiums: Requiring insurance plans to have certain benefits inevitably raises the cost of providing insurance, which is passed onto policyholders. Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Oregon cited Obamacare for 3.4% of its 17.1% rate increase, while Celtic Insurance Company of Wisconsin and North Carolina said half of its 18% rate jump was because of Obamacare mandates.

Dropped Child-Only Plans: Obamacare’s requirement that insurers who sell child-only plans offer coverage without considering pre-existing conditions had unintended consequences. Insurers in at least 34 states have dropped child-only insurance plans, and 20 states no longer have child-only plans sold in their insurance marketplaces.

Will I Get to Keep My Plan? Despite assurances that health insurance plans wouldn’t change, there have been several reports of confusion and inconsistent rulings regarding the “grandfathering” status for current Then this article goes on...health plans. The federal government has enormous power to arbitrarily select policies it deems in violation of the law. So far, the Administration has estimated that anywhere from half to 80% of small-employer plans, up to 67% of large-employer plans, and up to 67% of individual plans won’t be grandfathered in by the end of 2013."

Obama and Libya

Michael Barone: The Damning Contradictions of Obama's Attack on Libya  "Instead, members of Congress, like the general public, heard the president make the announcement in Rio de Janeiro. That's quite a contrast with George W. Bush, who sought and obtained congressional approval of military action in Afghanistan in September 2001 and Iraq in October 2002.
"Since then, many Democrats have denounced Bush's "rush to war" in Iraq. But military action there began a full five months after Congress approved. Obama didn't wait five days after the Security Council resolution."

Who's in charge? Germans pull forces out of NATO as Libyan coalition falls apart  "Yesterday a war of words erupted between the U.S. and Britain after the U.K. government claimed Muammar Gaddafi is a legitimate target for assassination.
"U.K. government officials said killing the Libyan leader would be legal if it prevented civilian deaths as laid out in a U.N. resolution.
"But U.S. defence secretary Robert Gates hit back at the suggestion, saying it would be 'unwise' to target the Libyan leader adding cryptically that the bombing campaign should stick to the 'U.N. mandate'.

From Blackfive:  A new use of military force doctrine  "Our leading from the rear President may have stumbled upon a decent compromise while attempting to Eurocratize the mission in Libya. Barry says no ground forces, period."

Row over role of Nato splits coalition forces

Navy chief: We don’t know what happens next in Libya war

Libya, the West and the Narrative of Democracy from STRATFOR : "In this case, the United States, France and Britain are intervening in favor of a poorly defined group of mutually hostile and suspicious tribes and factions that have failed to coalesce, at least so far, into a meaningful military force. The intervention may well succeed. The question is whether the outcome will create a morally superior nation. It is said that there can’t be anything worse than Gadhafi. But Gadhafi did not rule for 42 years because he was simply a dictator using force against innocents, but rather because he speaks to a real and powerful dimension of Libya."

Somehow all this brings this from May, 2009 to mind: Letterman writer: Obama 'too competent' to make jokes about   Then Letterman writer, Bill Scheft: "It's not because he's black and it's not because we're afraid. It's just that he's, just so far, just a little too damn competent and we ain't used to that. [multiple panelists say "yeah."] .
