Don’t Assault Lawless Leftists — Sue Them into Bankruptcy

David French at NRO  "Left-wing criminality is getting out of hand. Over the weekend, anti-Trump protests escalated yet again, this time affecting thousands of Americans who had no interest in Donald Trump and no involvement in his rallies. A small gang of leftists strategically blocked a major Arizona road, not only impeding access to Trump’s political event, but also backing up traffic for miles. This is a favorite tactic of leftist protesters (Black Lives Matter protesters recently blocked the San Francisco Bay Bridge), and it has to stop — along with every other protest tactic that violates the rights of innocents.

. . .

"Of course it’s not just Trump’s responsibility; the RNC and others could easily step up when law enforcement fails. The Left loves its “direct action.” It’s time for it to learn that direct actions can have costly consequences."

Obama Thinks Seeking His “Legacy” Means Playing The Fool

Obama embarrasses himself, US in Cuba (Updated)

Update: Obama is on his way to Argentina where we can assume he will apologize for our support we gave to Britain in the Falklands war. TD

Rick Moran   "President Obama stood next to Raúl Castro at a press conference in Cuba yesterday and was browbeaten by the Communist dictator in a humiliating spectacle that no president – no American – should have taken so meekly." . . .
. . . And the president of the United States just stood there and took it. Virtually the only resistance he offered came at the end, when Castro, a man whom we may presume is accustomed to getting what he wants, grabbed Obama’s wrist and tried to hoist it into the air for some sort of victory photo op. "Obama responded by letting his wrist go limp as Castro weirdly waved his arm around in the air."

"A real president – a real American – would have walked off that stage and left the country immediately.  But the president just stood there with a silly grin on his face, wallowing in the "historic" nature of the event.
. . .
And Obama allows Castro to castigate the U.S. while standing there meekly like a student taking a dressing down from a teacher.  He is cheered on the left for this, who love the way Obama never allows the chance for an American humiliation to escape.  As for the rest of us, all we can do is hang our heads in shame that anyone such as this achieved the highest office in the land."

President Obama’s Che Moment  . . . "Che is, of course, ubiquitous on dorm-room walls and T-shirts in the United States, and a hero of the Cuban revolution. He also was a cold-blooded killer who set up the Cuban gulag and presided over summary executions of political prisoners (trials were, per Che, “an archaic bourgeois detail”)." . . .

". . . Che said that in the event of a U.S. attack, “if the rockets had remained, we would have used them all and directed them against the very heart of the United States, including New York, in our defense against aggression.' ”

Obama Says He Has Not Handed Over Dissidents' List to Castro
. . . "In the joint news conference, Obama and Castro clashed on the issue of human rights in Cuba, with the Cuban leader denying knowledge of any political prisoners in the island nation.
" 'What political prisoners? Give me a name, or names, or after this meeting is over you can give me a list of political prisoners and if we have those political prisoners they will be released before tonight ends," Castro said." . . .

'Change is going to happen'  . . . "On Tuesday, Obama will deliver a speech on live Cuban television and attend an exhibition game between Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays and Cuba's national team." . . . Here come the groveling apologies for America.

Maundy Thursday: The Missing Holiday UPDATED

UPDATE: Tenebrae: A Service of Shadows; Another term for the Maundy Thursday service
"The service of Tenebrae, meaning “darkness” or “shadows,” has been practiced by the church since medieval times. Once a service for the monastic community, Tenebrae later became an important part of the worship of the common folk during Holy Week." . . .

The Missing Holiday

"During Sunday School a question was asked, “Of all the holidays during the year, what’s your favorite?”  This being the third week in March several answered, “Easter”, while Christmas, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July were also in the running.  Then the instructor asked if anyone celebrated this coming Thursday; something I hadn’t considered as a ‘holiday’.
"As Easter weekend comes around perhaps this Thursday should be celebrated; if not as a holiday then surely it falls into the category of important and significant.
"It was on a Thursday that Jesus and a few of his chosen disciples retired to the Garden of Gethsemane where the Lord could finish out his mortal ministry.   During those long lonely hours the Lord prayed to his Father and took upon himself the sins of the world, sweating, as it were, drops of blood from every pore." . . .
. . .39 Then Jesus came out and went, as he usually did, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. 40 When he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not fall into temptation.” 41 Then he went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done.” 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him to strengthen him. 44 And remaining in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. 45 When he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, worn out by grief, 46 so he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not fall into temptation!” 47 While he was still speaking, there came a crowd, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He walked up to Jesus to kiss him (Luke 22:39-47).  Also at Bible.org; The Gospel of John, Chapter 17
Many believers in Christ do not know about this occasion. It is meant to be dark and mournful and often worshippers are asked not to visit with others on the way out afterward. The mood is meant to be similar to Jesus' followers after they laid him in the tomb and walked away. It is such a preamble to the joyous atmosphere of Easter Sunday when we can exclaim,

"HE IS RISEN!"
"He is Risen INDEED!"
