The electric vehicle fire is extinguishing itself

The electric vehicle fire is extinguishing itself - American Thinker

We can make all manner of EV mandates while simultaneously shuttering our only reliable means of power generation, replacing them with solar and wind power, both of which are unreliable and can’t make up for the lost coal, natural gas and nuclear generation capacity.

"Onerous electric vehicle mandates have threatened to crash not only the economy, but our electric grid. Joe Biden’s handlers want X% of all vehicles to be electric by X year, which is always an impossibly few years in the future. Gavin Newsom wants…let’s not go there.  Continual exposure to that much crazy is debilitating.

Until recently, American auto manufacturers were politically attuned to the Mummified Meat Puppet Administration’s EV/Climate Crisis goals, but even when one is saving the planet through government mandates and deficit spending, reality inevitably catches up.  Reality in the form of 4000 dealers writing President Biden to tell him they can’t sell or give away the EVs infesting their lots, so perhaps it would be a good idea to please reign in those mandates?

"Another bit of reality is the current average EV sells for $67,000 dollars. When all but a handful of Americans can’t afford an EV even if they want one—and most don’t—EVs aren’t going to sell, which is the dealer’s polite point.

"For decades the Ford F-150 has been America’s best-selling vehicle, so naturally Ford bet its future on the electric F-150 Lightning. Electric vehicles were going to be 40% of Ford’s production in the very near future, and then—gasp—reality struck. Ford admitted losing at least $3.5 billion on EVs in 2023 alone, some $36,000 per vehicle. Ford is cutting Lightning production by half. Ford’s other EV offering, the Mustang Mach-E, has run into a sales brick wall and is plagued by recalls. Ford’s multi-billion-dollar joint battery-building venture with China has also gone the way of the Dodo.

"The Administration allocated $7.5 billion to build 500,000 EV charging stations across America, and in a stunning display of government know-how and efficiency has produced exactly one, in Ohio, which is kind of out of range of most EVs.

"Proterra, the former electric bus company Joe Biden praised as the future, turned out to be the future of bankruptcy, following Solyndra and other green companies in taking untold taxpayer millions with them to the fiscal grave." . . .

NEW: Senate Staffer Caught Making Hardcore Porn in Capitol Office Building, Democrat Senator Identified –

RedState  "Democrat Sen. Ben Cardin is going to have some explaining to do after one of his staffers was caught making hardcore gay porn inside the Capitol Complex.

"The news was first broken by "Cockburn," an anonymous writer over at The Spectator, who shared the tale in rather poetic terms. That story also identified the Senate office involved as belonging to Cardin.

The so-called hallowed Halls of Congress play host to a plethora of indecent acts every day — but one staffer for Senator Ben Cardin is taking it to new levels.

The public Twitter account of the audacious young “twink” is comprised almost solely of him in flagrante delicto with his older “bear” partner. The images and videos are explicit — and conspicuously and deliberately contain the staffer’s face.

One pic in particular, shared privately with Cockburn, raised his eyebrow, as it was taken in what certainly appears to be a conference room in the Hart Senate Office Building, where his boss’s office is located.

"Shortly after that report, one of the videos posted by the staffer was found and published by a conservative news outlet. It showed a nearly naked man on all fours inside the Capitol office building with a well-placed Capitol Dome over his genitals. The video wasn't just nude posing either. The male staffer and his boyfriend filmed themselves having anal sex inside a meeting room. I'd think some congressional members won't be too happy with the news.

"According to Cockburn's original write-up, this male staffer and his boyfriend, who is described as an "older bear," have been using Twitter as their personal porn set for a while." ... Can confirm that the @SenatorCardin staffer who filmed himself having sex in a senate hearing room is this guy.

He's also the same guy who yelled "Free Palestine" at Jewish Rep. Max Miller on Wednesday. https://t.co/nM9uzWIYg9 pic.twitter.com/ULffKqj8eY

Bill Maher Takes Apart Hamas With Some Swift, Brutal History and Humor

That was a great finish. But that's the reality here for Hamas--and these characters chanting "from the river to the sea." Israel isn't going anywhere, no matter how much they chant.

RedState   . . .Maher pointed out there were deals on the table to settle the conflict with Israel and share the land in 1947, 1993, 1995, 1998, 2000, and 2008. He said Yasser Arafat was offered virtually all of the West Bank, and said no. Maher then spoke to the people of Gaza, saying their leaders and the college kid "useful idiots" weren't doing them any favors--with their take on the situation, keeping alive the "river to the sea" myth.

"Where do you think Israel is going?" Maher asked, directing the question to Hamas. "Spoiler: nowhere."  It's one of the most powerful countries of the world, with nuclear weapons, and they're not leaving. So, Hamas could keep attacking but they're still not going to have the power to take out Israel.

"But Israel has had to bargain with Hamas, when their position is "you all die and disappear," he said. Hamas wants all the land, they don't want to bargain. That's the problem, until they disavow that, there is no real bargain. "So you attacked, and lost. And attacked again and lost. And attacked again and lost...How's that working for you?"

"Maher also said there aren't any Mexicans chanting to get back the land in the U.S. they used to have. He joked if they were going to try to move all the Jews, there was going to be some "kvetching." Are you going to move them with a fleet of trucks called "Jew-haul," he joked. He said we could move the country to Texas, put the Wailing Wall on the border, and solve two problems with one stone. But, "let's be serious," he concluded."

I’d rather watch the ‘Scrooge’ video

Silvio Canto, Jr.- American Thinker  "It happens every year.  The White House releases a message or video about the holiday season.  A few years ago, I read several presidential Christmas messages, from President Lincoln’s war time words to President Truman’s first Christmas after World War II.  They were so interesting.

"We will watch several versions of “The Christmas Carol” over the holidays.  My favorite is the 1951 movie with Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge.  In fact, it’s hard for me to watch another version without comparing it to this one.  Every year I sit patiently waiting for my favorite line: “Scrooge and Marley’s, I believe,” said one of the gentlemen, referring to his list. “Have I the pleasure of addressing Mr. Scrooge, or Mr. Marley?”

"It gets better every year!   A few years ago, I looked at one of my sons and said:  “Have I the pleasure of addressing #2 or #3 son?”  They didn’t get it.  They thought that it was a reference to Charlie Chan who had numbers for his sons.

"Yesterday, I saw the new video from the Biden White House.  It is the First Lady’s contribution to the season, a video of dancing to “The Nutcracker”.  As a huge fan of that Tchaikovsky dance, I just can't get into Jill’s video.  Sorry!

"It’s not the end of the world or an impeachable offense.  I guess that we don’t launch impeachments against First Ladies.  Nevertheless, with all due respect to Mrs. Biden, this video doesn’t put me in a Christmas mood.

"So I will stick with Scrooge and that story."

With Nothing More Important to Do, FBI Goes Mega-Woke, Mandates Use of LGBTQIA+ Instead of LGBT+

"The Democrat mayor of Boston accidentally sent invitations to whites for a party that was intended to be for "people of color."

That led to an uproar. Now she's saying this:

The Democrat mayor of Boston has defended her decision to hold a non-whites only Christmas party.

Michelle Wu has come under fire for hosting the “electeds of colour” event.

The segregated celebration has been held for years at an official reception hall in Boston, but this year  invitations were accidentally sent to all 13 members of the city council, including white members.

The mayor’s office rescinded the invitations to seven white councillors 15 minutes after they were sent out, leading to a backlash from the city’s representatives over the “divisive” event.

...and then...

The party went ahead on Wednesday after the mayor’s office apologised for the blanket invitations, which were sent to all councillors in error by Denise DosSantos, Ms Wu’s aide.

Ms DosSantos sent a follow-up email clarifying the event was restricted to non-white councillors.

Why isn't she being accused of being a racist since anyone who would exclude people of color from a party would be properly derided as a racist?

Incidentally, white is a color. We are not clear.

When people pick the color of their car, the most popular color of car is white. The car manufacturer doesn't ask if you want a car with a color or do you want a white car.

Part III: Why Are Today’s Politics So Awful?

Part III: Why Are Today’s Politics So Awful? › American Greatness    "Why are today’s politics so awful?” There are several reasonsmany of which will be explored in this fourpart series. In a nutshell (pun intended), the Communications Revolution has enormously contributed to the belief politics is more awful than ever due to its impact upon the public, the media, the politicians, and the country. The prior two weeks we examined the publicand the mediaToday, we examine the politicians.
"One of the most common misperceptions about politics is that one must be elected to be a politician. This is decidedly not the case. Indeed, some of the most intense politicians are found in areas that are the most unaccountable to the public, such as the bureaucracy and the judicial branch.
"While the judicial activism warrants a singularly devoted examination, suffice for our present purposes to note that when judges arbitrarily ignore current, duly enacted statutes or successful ballot initiatives and, instead, take it upon themselves to create new laws, it subverts the critical principle that we are a nation of laws not individuals. While many judges loathe the prospect of being distracted and/or disparaged by media partisans as they strive to make impartial, objective decisions, other judges seem to revel in the limelight and the attention. In conjunction with the Communication Revolution’s explosion of information, this drives the perception that democracy is ultimately a meaningless exercise, since the hard-won electoral results can be dismissed by a single individual who capriciously reinterprets and/or rejects the public’s decision, whether it had been expressed by the legislature or directly through the ballot box on referenda and other electoral initiatives.
"Deepening the public’s sense of dysfunction in democratic institutions, federal (and state) bureaucrats have well adapted to the Communications Revolution. This may seem counterintuitive. After all, one could once reasonably assume bureaucrats shunned public attention. While this remains true, the bureaucracy has learned how to manipulate for its own venal purposes the Communication Revolution’s competition between traditional and social media." . . .

Megan Rapinoe Says Playing Soccer For USA Was ‘Worst Job In The World’

Megan Rapinoe Says Playing Soccer For USA Was 'Worst Job In The World' (trendingpoliticsnews.com)

In a parting break from reality, Rapinoe said she dreams of a day where transgender men can be allowed to play for the women’s national team

"Former U.S. Women’s National Team superstar Megan Rapinoe sounded an unpatriotic note during a recent interview when she claimed that representing her country on the pitch was the “worst job in the world.”

"The pink-haired liberal athlete made her comment in a new Netflix documentary, “Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team,” covering the team’s pursuit of a third consecutive World Cup title earlier this year. Sweden ultimately defeated the reigning champions in a penalty kick shoot-out during the round of 16.

"According to Rapinoe, who retired following the competition, the pressure she was put under by former President Donald Trump and other conservatives made her wish she wasn’t representing her country at all.

“ 'I always say it’s the worst job in the world, because if you do your job, then you were supposed to, and if you do one hair less, then you are gonna get lambasted for it.”

She also shared her thoughts on playing in her final World Cup.

“ 'I think it’s just such a different feeling knowing that this is going to be my last World Cup, being kind of an old head and having a different role on the team. It means a lot to me in a lot of different ways than the other ones did. Yeah, this one’s very special.”

"Despite her regrets, Rapinoe certainly won’t be returning the millions of dollars she made while playing for the USWNT or repping major brands like Nike, Visa, Victoria’s Secret, Procter & Gamble, BodyArmor, Hulu and LUNA Bar." . . .
