In an effort to harm Tucker Carlson, NY Times columnist breaks journalistic ethics rule, outs confidential source

 Thomas Lifson

The one offender Smith does name is Brian Stelter, the host of CNN's "Reliable Sources" (and Times alumnus) who routinely casts himself as the conscience of journalism, who told him "you can see Tucker's fingerprints all over" his anti-Fox book, "Hoax."

Ben Smith

"Tucker Carlson is the left's "current Bogeyman No. 2, after Donald Trump," observes J. Peder Zane in a commentary at Real Clear Politics, and I think he is right.  Night after night, Carlson goes in depth uncovering hypocrisies, lies, and outrages being perpetrated by the powerful and connected elites that run the country and its media.  So, as with Trump, powerful members of the media are willing to break the old rules of journalism to take him down.

"The object of Zane's critique is Ben Smith, formerly the editor of BuzzFeed and now a columnist for the New York Times.

The New York Times has decided it is fine to out a confidential source — provided his name is Tucker Carlson. Its media columnist, Ben Smith, reports that the Fox News star is "the go-to guy for sometimes-unflattering stories about Donald J. Trump and for coverage of the internal politics of Fox News (not to mention stories about Mr. Carlson himself)."

Breaking a cardinal rule of journalistic ethics, Smith identifies Carlson as one of his own "off-the-record" sources. So, too, did "16 other journalists ... [who] told me on background that he has been, as three of them put it, 'a great source.'" . . .More...

If America Is Racist, Why Have Millions of Blacks Emigrated Here?

  Dennis Prager

"America is the least racist multiethnic, multiracial country in world history. Any African who seeks to improve his life has a better chance of doing so in America than anywhere else."

"If America is systemically racist, why have millions of blacks from Africa and the Caribbean come to this country over the past 50 years? Why would they and many millions more want to move from all-black societies to a white-dominated, racist one?1

"This is a question every black and white leftist should be asked. After all, no Jews moved to Germany in the 1930s. And why didn’t any? After all, many Jews were suffering terrible persecution and poverty in Russia and in Eastern Europe. Why didn’t any of them move to Germany after 1933?

"We all know the answer: Because Germany was systemically anti-Semitic.'

"Even leftists know that answer.

"So, one can only conclude that, in the view of America’s leftists, non-German Jews of the 1930s had the wisdom not to move to Germany, but present-day non-American blacks have no wisdom. In the view of America’s leftists, then, the millions of blacks who have moved here and the many millions who want to move here must be fools.

"How else could leftists regard blacks who willingly move to America? Any black person who decides to leave a black country for America—a place the left claims was founded by racists to perpetuate racism, built and sustained by racism, to this day composed largely of whites, every one of whom is racist and many of whom are white supremacists, and therefore remains systemically racist—must be either be a fool, an ignoramus or both." . . .

Tucker Carlson, Buckhead, and Why Our Cities Fail |

Somewhere along the line, the urban Democrat machine politicians realized that running cities badly enough would chase off the middle class and leave them with a thin crust of wealthy people over a large mass of the poor.

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics  "If you attempt to watch the YouTube version of Tucker Carlson’s report on what’s going on in Atlanta from Monday night, you’ll find yourself wading through warnings that “the following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences.”

"There is nothing pornographic in Carlson’s report. Nor is there foul language.

"What’s “inappropriate” or “offensive” in it is the truth about the people who run Atlanta, truth that everyone knows and understands. It’s the fact someone might speak the truth in a video appearing on YouTube that is offensive to the “YouTube community.”

"The funny thing is, Carlson isn’t telling the half of it.

"The subject of the Monday segment is the effort by the residents of Buckhead, which is a formerly nice area in the northwestern part of Atlanta that is home to around 80,000 mostly well-off and mostly white people, to create their own city. Atlanta’s criminal element has turned Buckhead into a war zone in recent years and particularly since the fiasco involving the drunken criminal Rayshard Brooks, who was shot by police last year. As a result, the citizens there have decided they want their own police force to keep the place safe; Atlanta’s police department, which is being depopulated, if not defunded, thanks to widespread retirements and resignations in the wake of the Brooks fiasco, is no longer capable of providing that kind of public safety.

"Carlson’s report talks with a rather matter-of-fact tone about efforts to pass legislation at the Georgia capitol enabling the birth of Buckhead. Why wouldn’t Buckhead’s residents attempt to form their own city? After all, upscale, law-abiding homeowners in nice areas like Buckhead are more or less members of an oppressed minority in Atlanta these days, particularly when a city like that one is governed by an “incompetent demagogue” (Carlson’s words) like Keisha Bottoms." . . .

‘Pride’ Night at the Old Ballpark

  American Thinker

. . . "What’s troubling is how the culture is saturated with a decades-old adolescent preoccupation with sexuality -- and today, bizarre sexuality at that.  It’s as if American society -- Western civilization, actually -- decided to take an extended holiday from reality.  Isn’t evading reality an aspect of derangement?

"There are causes for our societal breakdown and insanity, but that merits other analysis.  We’re a society imperiled by intellectual and moral squalor.  That certainly began accelerating in the 1960s.  It needs to be stopped and reversed.  Politics is downstream from culture.  Righting our politics without righting the culture won’t amount to a hill of beans, longer term.

"Fair being fair, shouldn’t the suits who run the MLB add a “traditional families” night at their ballparks?  Might the Phillies celebrate the rich traditional family life that’s the bedrock of stable, healthy, thriving societies?  Maybe it’s high time we start demanding a night recognizing what’s foundational to America?  Or maybe we just skip buying tickets, hotdogs, and beer."

Hours after his extradition to US was approved, John McAfee found dead in his Spanish jail cell - American Thinker

Thomas Lifson  'Move over, Jeffrey Epstein.  Another high-profile prisoner has been found dead in his jail cell before his trial, with authorities claiming suicide.  John McAfee, who wrote the first commercial anti-virus software, sold the company bearing his name, and later urged customers to uninstall the software, was widely described as "eccentric."  He lived for a while in Belize but left that country in 2013 after being wanted for questioning by police over a murder.  He made and lost most of a fortune believed to have totaled $100 million.  McAfee was arrested in October last year at Barcelona Airport at the request of U.S. authorities over alleged income tax evasion and was being held in a prison in Barcelona, awaiting extradition, which had just been approved when he was found dead." . . .

Gas Prices Then And Now – Grrr Graphics

"If you took a road trip over the holiday weekend, you were sure to notice the price of gas has shot up compared to last year.

"You can thank Fake President Joe Biden for that.

"Under the Trump administration, America was energy independent for the first time in decades.

"Under the Biden administration, the Keystone pipe line was halted and close to 52,000 people lost their jobs.

"In March, Biden imported oil from Iran, the first time since 1991. The Democrats would rather import oil from a terrorist regime than have Americans produce the same product." . . .e went from “America First” to “China First”.

"Gas prices will continue to skyrocket over the summer thanks to Biden. There will be gas shortages also.

Don't Stop at Juneteenth! by Ann Coulter

  Ann Coulter (townhall.com)

"Happy Juneteenth! I hope you all had a lovely week celebrating the nation's newest federal holiday, which commemorates the end of slavery throughout the Confederacy.
"How could you not? The media was chock-a-block with commentators telling us what a fantastic, transformative event for our nation this was. But the media ignored the best part of all!
"What Juneteenth commemorates is not technically the abolition of slavery, but the notification thereof to a particular group of slaves.
"Although President Lincoln officially ended slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863, it wasn't until two years later, on June 19, 1865, that the slaves of Galveston, Texas, got the news, when Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger rode into town and issued a series of proclamations announcing that the hideous institution had been abolished and, henceforth, slaves would be considered hired labor.
"This takes Juneteenth to a whole new level. Think of all the new federal holidays we could create using Juneteenth as our template! (Anyone who's dealt with the federal government knows that those workers well deserve another paid day off.) We just need horsemen to ride around the country, correcting the errors of those who falsely believe something bad about America.". . .

Chilling look at our future: Training child revolutionaries who hate the USA*

Critical Race Theory (CRT) is seeping into government, education, science, corporations, and it includes intersectionality*, another abomination. Also, you can’t just have black or brown skin, you have to think black, which means everything non-white.

No accommodation for Critical Race Theory in our public schools!  "Critical Race Theory (CRT) is an anti-white, anti-American philosophy that has spread like cancer throughout society.  It has made surprising headway in government agencies, the corporate world, and the K–12 public schools — and, of course, the colleges and universities where it originated.  This has happened while most Americans slept.  But as awareness of CRT has grown, so has the resistance to it.". . .

Best brief explanation of Critical Race Theory (independentsentinel.com)

In September 2020, Ray Sanchez, a faculty coordinator for Madera College, put up a good summary of Critical Race Theory, which grew out of Critical Theory. We wanted to share it with you here from Minding the Campus dot org.

"Critical Race Theory is a worldview that interprets everything through the lens of social and political power dynamics.  It is an all-encompassing vision that views all cultural, political, and social institutions as oppressive and requires explicit and continuous anti-racism “work” to mete out its vision for a liberated humanity.

It is a race-focused ideology which necessitates good works—a faith plus works if you will, and the only meritorious work is anti-racist work.

In other words, it isn’t just a tool that describes the intersection of power, privilege, race, and racism. It is, at base, an overarching eschatological philosophy that claims that an oppressor group is tyrannizing or minoritizing an oppressed group and explicitly stipulates that “work” is required to change (i.e., deconstruct) society and Western institutions.

[Everything is seen through the prism of race. The group with the power is tyrannizing the group without the power].

"Mr. Sanchez then goes on to explain the essential ingredient of CRT: New Racism. Racism is no longer merely prejudice and discrimination based on race—that is Old Racism. New Racism has two primary components: institutional power and systems of privilege (or disadvantage) based on race.

"The rest is reworded for brevity but you should go back and read the author’s excellent wording and explanation." . . .

*Chilling look at our future: Training child revolutionaries who hate the USA (independentsentinel.com)   . . ."Children are trained in Portland schools to see everything through a prism of race and to become revolutionaries. On a broader scale, this is exactly what Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project teach children. 1619 alone is now implemented in over 3500 school systems throughout the United States.". . .

New Video Shows University Of Oklahoma Faculty Teaching How To Silence And Punish ‘Problematic’ Conservatives

"According to newly released video footage, University of Oklahoma instructors want to punish students who defy campus orthodoxy. Their plan is to “avoid ‘a rhetoric of dysfunctional silence’ that closes ears to marginalized voices,” by — you guessed it — silencing marginalized voices.

On Tuesday, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), a nonprofit focused on protecting campus free speech, publicized video footage of an April 14 workshop on “Anti-Racist Rhetoric & Pedagogies” at the University of Oklahoma (OU). The workshop’s leaders presented slides about “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “subverting white institutional defensiveness.” In an attempt to teach so-called antiracism, the workshop’s leaders also promoted censorship and indoctrination.

"The event was “one of nine professional development workshops for instructors and grad students” at OU. During the workshop, three faculty members taught their colleagues “how to foster an anti-racist environment in their classrooms,” brainstorming tactics for dissuading, censoring, and penalizing “problematic” speech.". . .
