Black activists launch rare attack on Cuba about racism

Sweetness&Light "A group of 60 African American artists and thinkers have launched a rare — and some say unprecedented — attack on Cuba’s human rights record, with a particular focus on the treatment of black political dissidents. In a statement issued in November, luminaries ...criticized the Communist government for its "increased violations of civil and human rights for those black activists in Cuba who dare raise their voices against the island’s racial system."

Al-Qaeda target British soldiers returning from Afghanistan

UK Telegraph "British-based Islamist radicals are targeting Army soldiers - especially snipers - returning from fighting in southern Afghanistan, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt."

Learning from Abdul Mutallab

Victor Davis Hanson 1) If solidly middle-class Westernized Muslims mouth the al-Qaeda line of radical Islamic, anti-American boilerplate, please take them seriously — i.e., worry less about their feelings and more about the lives of innocents they may in the future seek to annihilate. The more upscale and the more the Western exposure, the more there is to worry about. 2)..."

The Jihad Decade Cometh

Pamela Geller in AT "And so the drip, drip, drip of jihad continued through the last decade. We became more paralyzed, impotent, and deceived. Meanwhile, the Leftist/Islamic alliance, a deadly marriage between the Democratic Party and their propaganda handmaidens in the mainstream media, engaged in daily beatings of Bush and his administration.".... "But the Left, our in-house enemy, demonizes any war that America chooses to fight. The egregious, horrible crimes of Mao, Stalin, bin Laden, Che, Lenin, Pol Pot, Ahmadinejad, et al, which are so heinous and so enormous, are in their terrible minds a historical footnote. They become cultural icons for the "radical chic." Cold-blooded monsters have co-opted our country."

Parliamentary Victory in Afghanistan

Max Boot "That Parliament has now displayed its independence by rejecting 17 of 24 cabinet ministers nominated by the president. Those who were ratified were the most competent ministers with the longest record of service; those who were rejected tended to be warlords and political hacks. With this vote, the Parliament displays good judgment and reminds us that Afghanistan is not ruled solely by one flawed man. There is a functioning democracy in place, however imperfect."

US offering EunuchBomber a deal?

Hot Air "The video has some interesting moments, including Brennan’s insistence that we have to close Gitmo because AQ uses it for propaganda purposes. Contrast that with Eric Holder’s earlier statement that he wouldn’t let terrorists dictate whether we try them in the military or civil system. Isn’t caving to AQ’s propaganda merely to exchange a explicitly-designed terrorist detention center for a makeshift one in Illinois the same thing?" Claire McCaskill 2009: It’s Unfair to Take Potshots at President… Claire McCaskill 2006: Bush Killed Black People on Rooftops

Gateway Pundit "Back in September 2006 Claire McCaskill told a group of local elected officials, which included white and black Democrats, that she would remind people over the course of her campaign against Republican Sen. Jim Talent that: “George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”"

The anti-capitalist mentality.

Heather MacDonald WSJ "It is the ingratitude that kills me the most among anti-business types. The materials that furnish a single room in an American home required daring, perseverance, and organizational skill from millions of individuals over generations. I hope they all got filthy rich."

On the Horizon

Victor Davis Hanson "But surely anyone who collated Obama’s self-described ... (“Yep. Every week. 11 o’clock service.” Ever been there? Good service.”)dutiful attendance at Rev. Wright’s racist pulpit...anyone who did all that, would conclude that, yes, an apparently strong influence in Obama’s worldview is the assumption that oppression is predicated on race. (If I had gone to one religious service in which my pastor evoked the sins of black people in collective fashion, then I would have left in shame of my attendance.)"
