After TV Host on The View Attacks Trump’s Hurricane Response, Mike Huckabee Stands Tall

"Former governor Mike Huckabee, and his daughter, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, appeared on The View on Wednesday where the spent nearly half an hour fighting off criticisms from the liberal-biased hosts.
"However, the critiques went TOO FAR when one of the hosts brought up President Trump’s response to Hurricane Harvey. Keep in mind, the hosts had already attacked Trump on a number of decisions, as well as his character and integrity. And now, they try and condemn his generosity towards hurricane victims.
"Mike Huckabee must’ve had enough because he came out swinging!
“ 'This was a President who not only did the important job of sending out federal resources to assist in Texas, but then he got criticized for not showing enough empathy. So then he goes back, he hugs people. And then people are saying ‘We’ve gotta find something to hate this guy for.’”

Reducing Gun Violence: Suggestions That Do Not Involve Gun Control. Chants of racism begin in three...two...one...

"Focus on crime ‘hot spots’ and on the tiny percentage of the population that commits most of the crime."

National Review  . . . "He passed background checks in buying at least some of his guns. If a 64- year-old multimillionaire exhibiting no warning signs is bent on mass homicide, we are unlikely to stop him before he’s achieved just that. If his weapon of choice hadn’t been a gun, it could just as easily have been a bomb (materials for which were found in his car) or a vehicle. Just last year, a vehicle attack in Nice, France, claimed even more lives than this rampage did.
. . .
“ 'Hot spots” are one important concept. These are the particular neighborhoods, blocks, and intersections where crime most often occurs. Nationwide, about one-quarter of gun homicides take place in just 1,200 census tracts, which contain just 1.5 percent of the population, according to an analysis by the Guardian. Zooming in even closer, one study of Boston showed that over a nearly three-decade period, 74 percent of the city’s shootings occurred on less than 5 percent of its street corners and block faces." . . .

. . . "In a recent literature review, Harvard’s Thomas Abt and Christopher Winship suggested that hot-spot policing has reduced violence by up to a third in places where it’s been tried. Importantly, hot-spot policing does not appear merely to displace crime, as nearby areas do not experience crime increases.

"The character of policing matters too. “Broken windows” methods — based on the concept of creating order by policing minor infractions — are effective, but they work best when the community cooperates with the police to set standards of acceptable behavior. It’s less effective for police to become an occupying force, imposing order by cracking down on every tiny violation of the law with “zero tolerance.' ” . . .  Read more.

'Silenced' FBI Informant Called To Testify On Corrupt Russian Bribery Scheme Involving Hillary

Picture

Daily Wire  "The Senate Judiciary Committee called on a former FBI informant — who says he was silenced by the Obama administration — to testify before the committee regarding the FBI’s investigation into crimes committed by Russian nuclear officials, an investigation that allegedly has direct connections to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

"In a letter, Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles Grassley (R-IA) asked Victoria Toensing, the lawyer representing the former FBI informant, to allow her client to testify about the FBI’s investigation before the Obama administration approved the sale of Uranium One to Russia’s Rosatom, Circa News reported.

“Toensing said she also possesses memos that recount how the Justice Department last year threatened her client when he attempted to file a lawsuit that could have drawn attention to the Russian corruption during the 2016 presidential race,” The Hill reported on Wednesday.

"Toensing said her client witnessed a significant amount of corruption going on in the U.S. and was forced by the FBI to a sign a document that prevents him from revealing what he knows to Congress:"

Letter Penned A Day Before Titanic Sank Sold At Auction For $166K

Yeshiva World News

"A letter written by one of the Titanic’s passengers a day before the ocean liner sank has sold for 126,000 pounds ($166,000) at an auction in England.
"The handwritten note, on embossed Titanic stationery, was penned by first-class passenger Alexander Oskar Holverson on April 13, 1912 — the day before the ship hit an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic, killing more than 1,500 onboard.
"Holverson, a salesman, was on the Titanic with his wife, Mary. He had intended to post it to his mother when they arrived in New York.
"Auction house Henry Aldridge & Son, which specializes in Titanic memorabilia, said Saturday the letter was “the most important Titanic letter we have ever auctioned” because of its content, historical context and rarity.
"In the letter, addressed to “My dear Mother” and stained with saltwater marks, Holverson described the Titanic as “a giant in size and fitted up like a palatial hotel.” He added: “The food and drink is excellent.”
"In a poignant line, he also wrote: “If all goes well we will arrive in New York Wednesday AM.”
"The letter, one of the last known to have been written on board by the disaster’s victims, was found in Holverson’s pocket notebook when his body was recovered. It was later sent to his family.
"His wife survived the disaster, Aldridge said."

Democrat cancer metastasizes

. . . "Johnson, days after being informed of her husband’s fatal firefight, said she was barred from seeing her husband’s body or given any straight story on how he died in Niger.

" 'I need to see him so I will know that that is my husband," Johnson, who's expecting to give birth to their daughter in January, said.

"She added: “They won’t show me a finger, a hand; I know my husband’s body from head-to-toe and they won’t let me see anything.' ” . . .

The soldier had been in the hands of terrorists for long enough to have been badly mistreated. Had his widow been shown his body, can you imagine what venom would have spewed from the mouths of liberal hacks over that?

"Despicable People"

Dem Congresswoman Who Attacked Trump Over Vet Message Voted Against Bill Giving Death Benefits To Families Of Troops Killed In Afghan War…

Townhall
"When clownish Florida Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D), accused the president of callousness in his condolence call to the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, it was a new low for a party setting new lows at a record pace."

Despicable People

. . . "Calls from a president are not spontaneous. Staff calls and sets up a time convenient for both. So that Wilson was there was not a coincidence, it was planned. It was going to be a painful call to receive, as every condolence call is soon after losing a loved one. That the Johnson family was upset after it was not surprising; what was is how Wilson marched right to a receptive media to spin their grief into a political knife.

" Wilson’s actions were despicable, as was the media’s adopting of her word as gospel and her tactics. Basic human decency was torched when the president’s response was portrayed as “an attack on a Gold Star family” and not what it was – a refutation of a partisan attack by an activist Democrat and media.

"President Trump never has been critical of Johnson’s widow. He’s been critical of Wilson and her fellow travelers in journalism. But you’d never know that if you watched CNN or MSNBC. They are lying to their audience because, well, that’s what they do.

" It’s what they did when Trump responded to the attacks of Khizr Khan at the Democratic National Convention. He never once was critical of Captain Humayun Khan, the hero who lost his life serving our country, nor did he say anything about how the Khan’s grieved.

"But being a Gold Star family does not grant absolute carte blanche on everything else. This was demonstrated by the media’s response to General John Kelly’s lecture to the press on Thursday. Joy Reid and Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC’s reliably dumbass-duo, accused Kelly of being a racist for rebutting a black woman’s claims with facts. It seems Gold Star parents such as Kelly are sacred only to the point what they say conflicts with the progressive agenda. Reid and O’Donnell are unworthy of respect.

"But they are not unique, they are all too common." . . .

President Trump criticizes congresswoman Frederica Wilson, called by others, the "clown in a sequined cowboy hat".

Thereby adding to her "rock star" status

Circa   "President Donald Trump continued to attack congresswoman Frederica Wilson on Sunday, calling her a "gift" to the Republican party.

"Wacky Congresswoman Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republican Party, a disaster for Dems," Trump wrote. "You watch her in action & vote R!"

A clown in a sequined cowboy hat distorts greatest sacrifice
"At last America is once again unified. We are, it turns out, all racists."Because if retired Marine General and current White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, a Gold Star dad among so many other distinctions, is a racist, then every last one of us is."This is according to the great titan of objective intellect, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson of South Florida. Somewhere, one of the buffoonish characters of a Carl Hiaasen novel jumped out of the pages and ran for Congress."Congresswoman Wilson is living proof that, literally, anyone — no matter how stupid — can get elected to Congress. And the fact that there is actually a party in American politics that would allow someone so dumb in their caucus only proves how unseriously Democrats take themselves and how much contempt party leaders have for innocent American voters."Congresswoman Wilson has long been known for pretty much only one thing: the ridiculous, colorful, feathered and sequined cowboy hats she sports around the halls of Congress. Otherwise, she is ignored because of her stultifying ignorance." . . ."Her style — or distinctive lack thereof — has always been humorously tolerated because she seemed fairly harmless in a place that is increasingly useless.
"Until, that is, she waded into the momentously sacred space where a commander in chief must extend the heartfelt thanks of a grateful nation to a family suffering the incalculable loss of a son, nephew, husband, father — in battle. The president speaks of the man’s bravery and sacrifice.
"But to a very dumb person, uncaring yet eavesdropping, incapable of understanding bravery or sacrifice, the words come unhinged from their meaning. And if the person is a hopelessly partisan hack in Congress — in addition to being dangerously stupid — these sober words get jammed clumsily into a sausage grinder, and out pops gibberish nonsense.
