Socialist Ocasio-Cortez Claims She's From The Bronx But New Information Shows Where She Really Grew Up

Daily Wire  "Newly-revealed information about the background of Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calls into question claims that she has made about where she grew up. She has regularly claimed to be someone who had a hard life growing up in the Bronx.
"The Daily Mail reports:
Though Ocasio-Cortez, 28, was born in and currently lives in the Bronx, county land records show her late father Sergio Cortez-Roman bought a quaint three-bedroom in Yorktown Heights, New York in 1991, when she was about two.
"The Mail notes that the newly-revealed information is in apparent contradiction to Ocasio-Cortez's biography on her campaign page, which says:
The state of Bronx public schools in the late 80s and early 90s sent her parents on a search for a solution. She ended up attending public school 40 minutes north in Yorktown, and much of her life was defined by the 40 minute commute between school and her family in the Bronx.
"Ocasio-Cortez, who did not respond to questions from The Mail, conveniently did not mention in her bio that her family moved from Parkchester to Westchester County when she was five years old.
"The Mail further notes that the median annual income of Westchester County, $116,741, is approximately two and a half times higher than the median annual income of Parkchester, $48,315."

Andrew Klavan: Imagine There's No Border

Obama's "my military": No Lib Outrage for Andrew Tahmooressi

Daniel John Sobieski
If you want to consider the alleged harshness of U.S. immigration policy, consider Mexico's treatment of Tahmoressi and the callous indifference of President Obama to his plight, as Obama was really putting illegal alien children in cages after separating them from their families: . . .

"It depends on whose ox is being gored, the saying goes, or maybe it depends on whose border is being crossed for those now outraged over U.S. border policy were silent when Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), languished in a Mexican prison in 2014 for the crime of making a wrong turn and wandering into Mexico with legal U.S. firearms in his vehicle.
"Tahmooressi, a 25-year-old combat veteran, was jailed in late March 2014, after he missed a freeway exit near San Ysidro, Calif. and drove into Tijuana.  The active U.S. Marine reservist, who served two combat tours in Afghanistan, was moving to San Diego to be close to his treatment center for his PTSD at the time of his arrest.
"In his trunk, Mexican authorities found three guns legally owned in the United States.  Tahmooressi was incarcerated in La Mesa Prison in Tijuana.  After Mexican authorities said he allegedly attempted to escape and suffered a self-inflicted stab wound, he was at one point placed in a jail infirmary with his arms and legs restrained.  That April, Tahmooressi even attempted to take his own life." . . .
. . . "President Obama had quite a different approach in the matter of Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl.  Bergdahl did not miss a highway sign when he deliberately left his post in Afghanistan to find himself and commune with the Taliban enemy.  President Obama didn't care, and neither did the liberal legacy media:"

. . . "From the famous "latte salute" to the Marine holding the presidential umbrella, President Obama's respect for our men in uniform has been open to question.  Unless, of course, they desert their post in Afghanistan to try to join the Taliban, like Bowe Bergdahl.  Then you have the parents to the White House and trade the Taliban general staff to obtain their release.  After all, we leave no one behind.  Except, maybe, for Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi." . . .

Hilarious satire of Dem apoplexy over Trump’s next Supreme Court pick

Thomas Lifson  "Hilarious satire of Dem apoplexy over Trump’s next Supreme Court pick
"The obsessive media hatred of President Trump has made them entirely predictable. Everything he does is not just wrong, it is an outage. And everyone he appoints to office is utterly, irredeemably evil, so malign that dining at a restaurant is a threat that must be countered by mobs.
"Blogger Don Surber has provided us with a splendid satire of the spittle-flecked media madness that will erupt as soon as President Trump announces his nominee for the Supreme Court seat being vacated by Justice Kennedy. What makes this brilliant satire is that it is a generic editorial that could (and will) be published against anyone the president chooses. Don instructs journalists:" . . .

How Congress Can Stop Family Separation at the Border Without Allowing Amnesty

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

Heritage   KEY TAKEAWAYS
"The choice for the government is to detain the parents until their case is completed but release the child after 20 days, or to release the entire family.

Those who illegally cross into the U.S. and then claim asylum should have to explain why they didn’t seek asylum from other governments or a U.S. consulate.

"Congress should appropriate funds for more immigration court judges, prosecutors, and support staff as well DHS asylum officers.

"The Trump administration is struggling to figure out how to enforce U.S. laws and  keep keeping families together. The matter is made more complex and difficult because of  loopholes and restrictions in current law.

"But it doesn’t have to be difficult and confusing. Congress can and should ensure that families are kept together and U.S. laws are well-enforced.

"How so? Here’s a checklist for Congress:" . . .Full article
