BREAKING: North Korea suddenly cancels meeting with S. Korea, threatens to cancel US meeting

Dennis Michael Lynch

North Korea announced it has canceled a high-level summit with South Korea and has threatened to cancel its meeting with the United States over American military drills with South Korea, Yonhap News said Tuesday, citing KCNA.KCNA, North Korea’s state media outlet, claimed that the military drills were a rehearsal for a potential invasion of the country. The article goes on to state the following:The meeting between officials from the neighboring countries was expected to be a follow-up to the historic summit held last month between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.The pair in late April discussed the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.“This exercise targeting us, which is being carried out across South Korea, is a flagrant challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration and an intentional military provocation running counter to the positive political development on the Korean Peninsula,” KCNA said, according to Yonhap News. “The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities.” . . .

This usually works with Democrats. The Norks release the statement and then enjoy watching Obama, Schumer, Harris, Clinton, Waters, et.al. begin the entertainment. TD

North Korea Spooked: Suspends Talks With South Korea, Threatens to Ditch U.S. Summit  . . . "The State Department says they have not been contacted by North Korea:

The U.S. State Department said it had not received any information from North Korea about the threat to cancel the June summit between Trump and Kim, Reuters reported.
“Kim Jong Un had said previously that he understands the need and the utility of the United States and the Republic of Korea continuing in its joint exercises,” said Heather Nauert, a State Department spokeswoman, in a briefing shortly after the North Korean announcement.
The department will continue to plan for the summit, which is currently scheduled for June 12 in Singapore.
The Max Thunder joint military drills kicked off Friday and were to continue for two weeks:" . . .

New York Daily News hits new low with disgusting Jerusalem embassy opening cover

Monica Showalter  "President Trump's favorite daughter, Ivanka Trump Kushner, who is an Orthodox Jewish convert, was sent to Jerusalem for the U.S. embassy opening.  Rather than focus on the historic occasion, which is all about the U.S. and its effort to honor its top ally in the Middle East, it drags in some utterly unrelated issue, way out in a hellhole like Gaza, where a bunch of Islamist maniacs linked to the terror group Hamas apparently threw Molotov cocktails and assorted bombs and got several dozen of their numbers killed, apparently because they were aggressive and because they used their own women and children as human shields.  It was the using and expending of live humans for propaganda purposes to get out some sort of sob story about their desire to destroy Israel and make us all sympathetic.  Maybe they were unhappy about the embassy or something, or trying to upstage the happy occasion of the U.S. embassy opening with more TV images of themselves screaming and contorting themselves and looking unkempt.  One can assume they want something – perhaps the annihilation of the Jewish state – but nobody knows.  And since they do this all the time, nobody except Trump-hating leftists cares(SP), either." . . .

EXCLUSIVE: Read The Note That A Military Mom Handed To President Trump

Daily Caller  "A military mom and spouse handed a special note to President Trump at a Mother’s Day event last week.
"The note was shared with The Daily Caller by a family member, and it is more than heartwarming.
"Air Force mom and wife Lisa Stalford wrote to President Trump

“President and Mrs. Trump,
I wish to express to you my gratitude for the invitation to the Mother’s Day reception at the White House on May 9th. It is such an honor to be invited and recognized as a mother of a military member. I would like to take this opportunity and tell you a little bit about my Air Force Family”

Stalford shared details about her husband who served in the Air Force for 23 years. She also shared details about her four sons who have all either served or are committed to serving in the United States Air Force.

“As you can imagine, the receipt of this invitation to recognize mothers and spouses of military members means a lot to me. I am, without a doubt, a proud military wife and mother!” she also wrote.

Democrats Disgrace Themselves Interrogating Trump's CIA Nominee

Although Michael Hayden did not make this statement about the current Senate Democrats and the confirmation of Gina Haspel, it is applicable today.  "It feels like September 11th never took place, that Americans are living in the bubble of September 10th, 2001.  Americans need to wake up and not forgot the real dangers under which we are living."
Harris
Elise Cooper  . . . Democratic senators on the Intelligence Committee – Heinrich, Feinstein, Warner, Harris, and King – ignored the legality of the Rendition, Detention, and Interrogation programs by calling them immoral.  They had the attitude of Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), who asked over five times if Haspel "believed the previous interrogation techniques were immoral" and Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.), who stated, "It is not enough that you have committed to the rule of law?" and called it "a get out of jail free card."

" . . .This program led to the disruption of terrorist plots that saved American lives.  It contributed to helping us learn more about al-Qaeda, including the best way to attack, thwart, and degrade it."
"The Democrats seem to be playing right into KSM's hands, since they frame what the CIA did as morally wrong.  Maybe someone should point out to them that KSM considers responses like theirs "one of Allah's gifts."  "The long war for Islamic domination wasn't going to be won in the streets with bombs and bullets and bloodshed, but would be won in the minds of the American people."
"Haspel was pressed by the Democrats to throw her fellow CIA peers under the bus.  Speaking of moral courage, it is so obvious she has it all over the Democrats.  She stuck to her beliefs, refused to play their political game, and should be admired for doing this.  Her response: "It was the CIA who identified and captured the mastermind of 9-11 [KSM] in a brilliant operation.  I am proud of our work during that time, which allowed us to defend this country and prevent another attack.' How Trump is reshaping American foreign policy in the Middle East

"Managing declines" is what todays Democrats do; they lead our military, our schools, entertainment, and society into mediocrity.
Rick Moran  "An excellent piece by Walter Russell Meade in the Wall Street Journal this morning clarifies recent moves made by the Trump administration in the Middle East.
"Scuttling the Iran deal and moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem demonstrate a direct challenge to Iran (and Russia) in the region and allow the U.S. to confront our enemies with a renewed sense of purpose.
"President Obama chose to "manage the decline" of U.S. power in the region.  The Trump administration has changed that policy into one of direct confrontation with Iran and, consequently, strengthening our Arab and Israeli allies in the region.
"The Obama administration reasoning in agreeing to the Iran nuclear deal was that U.S. power was ebbing in the region, and rather than risk a long, ruinous war with Iran over its nuclear program, we should settle for the status quo:
The Iran deal, President Obama and his supporters believe, accomplished all that and more.  By taking the nuclear issue off the table, at least for the time being, the agreement averted the danger of a U.S.-Iranian military confrontation.  Moreover, it weakened hard-liners inside Iran by undermining their core argument that Iran faced an external threat requiring permanent social mobilization even as it strengthened moderates by tying the country ever more closely to the world economy.  If supported by the West, the Obama administration believed, moderates would gradually consign the Islamists to the political fringes.
. . .
So, fearful of a crisis on his watch and like the frightened schoolboy giving up his lunch money to the bully, Obama was content to appease evil regimes, leaving problems to be cleaned up by better presidents than he. Hey, it worked with the Hollywood crowd. TD
