The speech every American high-school principal should give.

Dennis Prager " The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity — your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American. This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans.
"If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial, or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity-, race-, and non-American-nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America, one of its three central values — e pluribus unum, “from many, one.” And this school will be guided by America’s values."

Farrakhan Demands Reparations from Jews

Daniel Pipes   "For Farrakhan, “dialogue” equals reparations. Because Jews “are in a position to help me in the civilizing work that The Honorable Elijah Muhammad was given to do by Allah (God).” More specifically: “This is an offer asking you and the gentiles whom you influence to help me in the repair of my people from the damage that has been done by your ancestors to mine.” In other words, after years of unsuccessfully demanding reparations for blacks from the U.S. government, he is now looking to Jews to make amends for their alleged past injustices."

A Successful Trifecta

Victor Davis Hanson "We now have, with General Petraeus as ground commander, our two most gifted senior combat generals in charge of Afghanistan, who have worked well together and who were brilliant in Iraq in its darkest hours. I think all this is somewhat analogous to the final rise of Grant and Sherman in spring 1864."

Obama Regime Sets Up to Dump Disaster on GOP Congress in 2011

Rush Limbaugh "...Republicans assume control in January when things are gonna get worse because once January arrives we've got the Obama tax increases associated with health care and the sunset of the Bush tax cuts. So we have a tsunami, a potential tsunami of disastrous proportions waiting to become reality starting in January 2011, and the Republican Congress would be inaugurated right about the time all this stuff is kicking in, and they would be in power whenever anything and everything starts to get worse. Obama, as president, will be proposing fixes and solutions and of course will be anything but. They will be proposals to make things worse. The Republicans, being who they are, as they should do, will oppose all of it.

"Riding to Obama's rescue will be the media, and the media will say, "He's trying. Poor old Obama. Look what he inherited from Bush. He only got two years to implement his stuff, and then the Republicans have taken control again, and the Republicans are road-blocking everything," which is what they've been saying these two years, or this year and a half. Republicans can't stop and haven't been able to stop diddly-squat.

Dem governors wonder: This immigration lawsuit against Arizona is sort of insane, isn’t it?

Hot Air "Naturally I want to agree, but wouldn’t it also be arguably insane for The One to flip his base the bird and declare that he isn’t going to do anything for them this year on immigration? We’re forever trapped in this rough calculus of trying to determine whether pursuing policy X will please more liberals than it will alienate centrists..."

Obama aborted the recovery

Washington Times "Even more impressive, however, are the steps the administration has taken to destroy jobs at the very time it claims to be focused on their creation. And if we consider the sorts of jobs under attack by the administration, it's clear there is method to the mayhem.
"Many thousands of existing jobs have been killed, and many thousands more that could be created are instead being aborted. In all instances, the ramifications go beyond the jobs themselves; the administration's actions will have broad consequences for our nation's economy and global standing. The energy sector illustrates the point."....
"It's as if the president has declared war on energy independence."

New Ban Hits Oil Drillers

WSJ "But a group representing shallow-water drillers said Monday uncertainty about Interior Department drilling policy has frozen activity in their industry, affecting hundreds of rigs.
""Despite assurances from the White House and the Interior Department, about one-third of the shallow water fleet has been idled by the application of what can only be called a de facto moratorium," said Jim Noe, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Hercules Offshore, a large shallow-water driller."
Weasel Zippers:  "This is a rogue regime, now openly flouting the Federal Appeals court ruling…"

4 Christians Arraigned today on "Misdemeanor Charges" for Handing Out Leaflets at Muslim Festival

Atlas Shrugs "Only in Omerica. Four Christians were arraigned today for handing out leaflets at a Muslim festival in Dearborn. Passing out leaflets is "disturbing the peace." Uh, disturbing the peace is Islam's job. Perhaps these young men would have demanded convert and die and subsequently beheaded those that refused, they'd get more respect."

Obama Economy Sends Americans to Their Mattresses

Michael Barone "In other words, the Obama Democrats' vast expansion of the size and scope of government -- and the threat that they may pass even more such legislation in a lame duck session of Congress after the November election -- has chilled the animal spirits that John Maynard Keynes said were the driving force for economic growth. Instead of stimulating the economy, the Obama Democrats' policies have shocked it into immobility."

BUSINESSES AREN'T OPTIMISTIC? GEE, I WONDER WHY

Boortz "Sensing that businesses are increasingly critical of his policies, regulations and new laws, Obama tried to respond by saying that his actions have boosted the private sector. Yeah, sure .. you can say that, but when those words are coming from the same person who once claimed to be an avowed enemy of the private sector .. and when you look around and don't see any private businesses hiring .. at some point even government educated people are going notice that this isn't passing the smell test. "

Arizona warned of 2nd lawsuit

Washington Times "The attorney general ...said the pre-emption argument was the "strongest initial argument" against the law. If the law goes into effect despite the lawsuit, he said, federal officials will watch for profiling.

"If that was the case, we would have the tools and we would bring suit on that basis," he said."
