Obama aborted the recovery

Washington Times "Even more impressive, however, are the steps the administration has taken to destroy jobs at the very time it claims to be focused on their creation. And if we consider the sorts of jobs under attack by the administration, it's clear there is method to the mayhem.
"Many thousands of existing jobs have been killed, and many thousands more that could be created are instead being aborted. In all instances, the ramifications go beyond the jobs themselves; the administration's actions will have broad consequences for our nation's economy and global standing. The energy sector illustrates the point."....
"It's as if the president has declared war on energy independence."

New Ban Hits Oil Drillers

WSJ "But a group representing shallow-water drillers said Monday uncertainty about Interior Department drilling policy has frozen activity in their industry, affecting hundreds of rigs.
""Despite assurances from the White House and the Interior Department, about one-third of the shallow water fleet has been idled by the application of what can only be called a de facto moratorium," said Jim Noe, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Hercules Offshore, a large shallow-water driller."

4 Christians Arraigned today on "Misdemeanor Charges" for Handing Out Leaflets at Muslim Festival

Atlas Shrugs "Only in Omerica. Four Christians were arraigned today for handing out leaflets at a Muslim festival in Dearborn. Passing out leaflets is "disturbing the peace." Uh, disturbing the peace is Islam's job. Perhaps these young men would have demanded convert and die and subsequently beheaded those that refused, they'd get more respect."

Obama Economy Sends Americans to Their Mattresses

Michael Barone "In other words, the Obama Democrats' vast expansion of the size and scope of government -- and the threat that they may pass even more such legislation in a lame duck session of Congress after the November election -- has chilled the animal spirits that John Maynard Keynes said were the driving force for economic growth. Instead of stimulating the economy, the Obama Democrats' policies have shocked it into immobility."

BUSINESSES AREN'T OPTIMISTIC? GEE, I WONDER WHY

Boortz "Sensing that businesses are increasingly critical of his policies, regulations and new laws, Obama tried to respond by saying that his actions have boosted the private sector. Yeah, sure .. you can say that, but when those words are coming from the same person who once claimed to be an avowed enemy of the private sector .. and when you look around and don't see any private businesses hiring .. at some point even government educated people are going notice that this isn't passing the smell test. "

Arizona warned of 2nd lawsuit

Washington Times "The attorney general ...said the pre-emption argument was the "strongest initial argument" against the law. If the law goes into effect despite the lawsuit, he said, federal officials will watch for profiling.

"If that was the case, we would have the tools and we would bring suit on that basis," he said."

Former member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps: Iran will attack Israel, mullahs see Obama's overtures as "sign of weakness"

JihadWatch "Kahlili accused the Obama Administration of being naïve. According to him, the American overtures are viewed by the Iranian regime as a sign of weakness, while the Iranian people consider the efforts to engage the regime an act of betrayal against their struggle for freedom."

Governors Voice Grave Concerns on Immigration (Updated)

NY Times "In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections."

WAKE UP! THIS CRISIS IS STARING US IN THE FACE  While these governors are trying to balance budgets, Obama and the Democrats continue more spending burdens on the states like new ObamaCare unfunded mandates. Democrat governors are particularly upset with Washington because they managed to sell hope and change, but failed to deliver any jobs to their states. What else did they expect with an anti-business Community Organizer with zero business experience in the White House?

Charles Bolden’s outreach to Muslims ignores the West’s influence on science.

National Review
"In the 16th century, astronomer Taqī al-Dīn built one of the world’s great observatories in Istanbul. It rivaled that of the pioneering Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe — while it lasted.
"“Taqī al-Dīn’s observatory was razed to the ground by a squad of Janissaries, by order of the sultan, on the recommendation of the Chief Mufti,” Bernard Lewis writes in his book What Went Wrong? “This observatory had many predecessors in the lands of Islam; it had no successors until the age of modernization.” "

Military commissions return with a well-deserved guilty plea.

Andrew C. McCarthy "A guilty plea by one of Osama bin Laden’s most trusted minions demonstrates yet again that political accountability can spur even a Democrat-controlled Congress to correct the Obama administration’s wayward national-security instincts."

Obama Fails to Square the Illegal-Immigration Circle

Victor Davis Hanson  "What has changed is not the terrain, or the reality that many wish to enter illegally, but our attitudes about such fundamental issues as the rule of law, national sovereignty, and assimilation. Indeed, the president ordered a halt to the building of the border fence, suggesting an absence of will rather than a hopeless task."

Love Or Hate Sarah, She’s The Best Pick For RNC Chair

Big Government "In tracking the response to the launch of the site and petition to draft Sarah Palin for the Chairmanship of the RNC, we have seen varied reactions ranging from enthusiasm, to curiosity, to skepticism, to racist bigotry, to deafening silence. One common denominator in near uniformity, however, is the consensus that Michael Steele is, at best, ineffective as Chair of the RNC for one or more of the following reasons."
