Would You Sign to Rid U.S. of 1st Amendment? These guys would.

Conservative Daily News  "Clips from this video were shown on Fox and Friends Friday. The creator, Mark Dice, wanted to challenge the knowledge of Obama supporters by offering a petition to rid the US of its pesky First Amendment.
"Is it okay for those mean right wingers to criticize the president? Want to stop those haters?
"Watch as the majority of these naive voters easily sign away their rights.  They have no idea the importance our forefathers placed on free speech nor it’s role today.
"This will make you shake your head."
As he said, "This is so easy!"

What do you know about the First Amendment?   "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Lock up the interns, the Clinton's are headed for the White House again!

Syria's gas attacks and Obama's red line

Obama Not Rushing to Act on Signs Syria Used Chemical Arms  "But Mr. Obama is also trying to preserve his credibility after warning in the past that the use of chemical weapons would be a “game changer” and prompt a forceful American response.
" “Knowing that potentially chemical weapons have been used inside of Syria doesn’t tell us when they were used, how they were used,” Mr. Obama told reporters in the Oval Office. “We have to act prudently. We have to make these assessments deliberately.”
" “But I meant what I’d said,” the president added. “To use potential weapons of mass destruction on civilian populations crosses another line with respect to international norms and international law. And that is going to be a game changer.”"
White House Wants Syria ‘Red Line’ to Be Determined by UN
"Capitol Hill pounced on the Obama administration’s flailing rhetoric about red lines after a slip of admonition that the Syrian regime most likely used chemical weapons.
"“We cannot have a situation in which chemical or biological weapons are falling into the hands of the wrong people,” Obama said in August. “We have been very clear to the Assad regime but also to other players on the ground that a red line for us is, we start seeing a whole bunch of weapons moving around or being utilized. That would change my equation.” "

The Bush legacy; “He kept us safe.”

"Not quite right. With Bush’s legacy being reassessed as his presidential library opens in Dallas, it’s important to note that he did not just keep us safe. He created the entire anti-terror infrastructure that continues to keep us safe."

After that the Obama administration sought to prosecute those who had kept us safe.

Charles Krauthammer
"Moreover, Bush’s achievement was not just infrastructure. It was war. The Afghan campaign overthrew the Taliban, decimated al-Qaeda and expelled it from its haven. Yet that success is today derogated with the cheap and lazy catchphrase — “He got us into two wars” — intended to spread to Afghanistan the opprobrium associated with Iraq.

"As if Afghanistan was some unilateral Bush adventure foisted on the American people. As if Obama himself did not call it a “war of necessity” and Joe Biden, the most just war since World War II."
Emphasis added.

From Affirmative Action to Diversity

Victor Davis Hanson  "The idea of diversity, racial and otherwise, is deeply embedded in politics. President George H.W. Bush was not especially lauded for appointing an African-American Supreme Court justice, Clarence Thomas, apparently because Thomas was considered conservative. Liberal Attorney General Eric Holder was seen by the media as a genuinely diverse appointment in a way that a conservative predecessor, Alberto Gonzales, was not."

U.S. female sailor beats Dubai rapist bus driver into submission

Don't you love stories like this?
The Washington Times
"An off-duty U.S. navy sailor wrestled a Dubai bus driver to the ground and beat him into submission after he tried to rape her at knifepoint on Jan. 19, a courtroom heard Wednesday.
"The woman, 28, was on 24-hour shore leave in Dubai when she was attacked by a bus driver after he picked her up from the Mall of the Emirates shopping center."

" “I noticed he did not take the main road and when I asked him he told me not to worry,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.
"He then stopped where several other buses were parked and tried to kiss her. After she refused, he pulled out a knife and tried to rape her.
Prosecutors said that she knocked the knife from his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand, forced him to the ground and locked him between her thighs, the Daily Mail reports."....

Sequester THIS.

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel
Extravagance at the FAA  "Despite sequestration, the agency overspends, and then furloughs air-traffic controllers. "
UPDATE:  Lawmakers send air traffic controllers back to work  "The furloughs caused runway backups and angry outbursts from passengers stuck on the tarmac. Republicans accused the agency of purposely making the delays worse than necessary to make a political point. Although the furloughs will end as soon as President Barack Obama signs the measure into law, it’s not clear how quickly the FAA can change schedules and get staffing levels back to normal levels."

Obama's hubris problem

Politico  "Tuesday morning, a peculiar announcement trickled out of the White House press office: President Barack Obama would be holding a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston bombings. At the White House. By himself. No press or other intruders allowed.

"Except the White House photographer.

"That Obama assumed Americans would want an iconic photo of him privately mourning the victims of the bombings was emblematic of a kind of hubris that has enveloped the president and his White House as the president commences his second term."

Obama leans toward this sort of thing:
"Talk radio bomb thrower Rush Limbaugh ripped President Obama on Sunday for his ego, health care reform effort - and a "photo op" with the casket of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan."

Media Fawns Over Obama Saluting Caskets Of Fallen Soldiers From Afghanistan  " Our troops don’t need salutes at this point. They need leadership. And Obama is sadly bereft of that quality.
"And this isn’t asking him to “rush” a decision on Afghanistan. He campaigned on finishing the war there. He’s had months and months to consider the issue. There’s no reason he can’t make a decision now. Other than politics, which he clearly values more than the lives of our troops."

One of those posts you aren't sure if you should publish or not. But do; there is some MSNBC in all of us, isn't there?

Beck to Obama: Come clean on bombing, or else   "TV and radio host Glenn Beck has warned the Obama administration it has until Monday, April 22, to come clean about the Boston Marathon bombing, or he promises to “expose” what’s being hidden from the American public.
“I thought I had heard and seen it all. I thought I didn’t trust my government,” Beck lamented. “Oh, no. No, no. There is no depth that these people will not stoop to. They have until Monday, and then the Blaze will expose it.” "
"What is Beck threatening to expose? Apparently it has something to do with Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, a Saudi national initially questioned by police following the bombing, but since released."
....
" “Let me just say this to those at the highest echelons of government,” Beck intoned. “We know who this Saudi national is. And it is in your best interest and the best interest of integrity and trust for the people of United States of America – it’s best coming from you, not coming from a news organization. It’s best coming from you. You have until Monday. We have information on who this man is. … We know he is a very bad, bad, bad man.”"
But do not write Beck off until you consider all the following:

Jihad in France: Jihadi opens fire on Southern Town of Istres, Kills 3
"How much longer can the media cover up the jihad  motive?"

Could This Islamic Demand Be Next for America?  "The Obama Administration is in denial over Islamic extremism. It shows in almost everything they say and do. For example:
“Before the Boston Marathon bombings, the Obama administration argued for years that there is a big difference between terrorists and the tenets of Islam.
“A senior White House aide in 2009 publicly urged Washington to cease using the term ‘jihadist’ — asserting that terrorists are simply extremists. Two years later, the White House ordered a cleansing of training materials that Islamic groups deemed offensive.”

Bush’s “Decency” Was Always There, but Where Was the Media’s? (UPDATED)

Seth Mandel  "So yes, there was plenty of absurdity coming from the right and leveled at President Obama, and history will not look kindly on the disrespect and indignity of making the president feel compelled to show his birth certificate. Plenty of the attacks on Bill Clinton were–or should have been–out of bounds too. But ask yourself this: can you picture John McCain screaming at the top of his lungs that Barack Obama is a traitor to the country he leads, or jokingly suggesting he should assassinate Obama? And can you imagine political reporters writing four years after Obama leaves office that they never knew he was a personally decent man?"

UPDATE: W outclasses Barack and Bill, without even trying  ...."Just before we said our goodbyes, I asked her if she’d miss covering President Obama.

" “Not at all. He’s an inch deep. Bush is a bottomless chasm, a deep, mysterious, emotional, profound man. Obama is all surface — shallow, obvious, robotic, and, frankly, not nearly as smart as he thinks. Bush was the one.”

"Her words, so succinct, have stuck with me ever since. By the way, she’s a hardcore Democrat."

Army scraping off biblical reference from weapons scopes

American Thinker  "For years, weapons scopes supplied to the Army by a company called Trijicon ...have carried serial numbers ending in JNB:12 and 2COR4:6. To the biblically untutored, they appeared to be just a continuation of an alphanumeric sequence. But to people familiar with the Bible and citations therefrom, these sequences signify Bible verses.
....
"The U.S. Army is directing troops to remove a Bible inscription that a vendor etched into the serial numbers of weapon scopes, Fox News has learned.
"Soldiers at Fort Wainwright in Alaska told Fox News they received a directive to turn in their scopes so the Bible references could be removed."
"The biblical verse (JN8:12) must be removed utilizing a Dremel type tool and then painted black," read instructions on how to remedy the matter.

"The vendor etched those inscriptions on scopes without the Army's approval," Army spokesman Matthew Bourke told Fox in a written statement. "Consequently, the modified scopes did not meet the requirement under which the contract was executed."

The most famous commercial example of biublical verse references printed where most people won't notice them is the In-N-Out Burger beverage cups. If you turn one over, you see:

About California

Victor Davis Hanson; Five Days of Hope and Despair. Here is a brief travel log of five days amid 21st-century California.
"If the new library is now designed as a valuable cultural nexus, to throw together all sorts of young people of different classes, religions, and races, and at least expose them to the idea of sitting in a comfortable and humane learning place, overseen by courteous and professional staff, where reading is theoretically possible, then it is a smashing success.

"If, on the other hand, it is supposed to be a place where disciplined young people individually pursue real knowledge in the liberal arts and sciences, through self-motivated and faculty-guided research, then it appears an utter failure. Does playing a video game next to the Iliad and Prometheus Bound mean that it is more likely that the video game is educational?"
