Did IRS Target Homebuilders on Behalf of Laborers Union?

National Legal and Policy Center  Quoting this article from Townhall:

Did IRS Target Homebuilders on Behalf of Mobbed-Up Union?
Ray LaHood
“In a letter [from the Labor Department] cited by The [Wall Street] Journal,” wrote Crain’s Detroit at the time “homebuilders were asked to immediately turn over the names, addresses, Social Security numbers, pay rates and hours worked for all employees over the past two years. The letter from the Labor Department asked for the names of all contractors hired in the past year. The letter didn’t allege any specific violations of law. “
No. It was just the usual harassment that the Obama administration gives anyone when they have a disagreement with a key Obama constituency. The constituency in this case was unions that are all mobbed up. Re-write the rules, send investigators in, bury them in document discovery and government lawyers until they cave.
....
So now we have the Obama administration hooking up the Department of Labor with the IRS to join together union muscle to shakedown homebuilders, mafia style.

Supporting a Traitor: Hollywood Creates ‘I Am Bradley Manning’ Video

Newsbusters "With the start of the Bradley Manning court martial, a number of famous and not-so famous Hollywood liberals have created a video in support of their hero.
"It includes the likes of Oliver Stone, Russell Brand, Peter Sarsgaard, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Moby, Tom Morello, Wallace Shawn, and the perilously liberal so-called journalists Matt Taibbi, Phil Donahue, and Chris Hedges (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):"

.....
The video ended with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello saying, “If you know nothing about Bradley Manning, you should find out, and then you should help me bust him out of jail.”

"Yes, let's bust a traitor out of jail, shall we?"

Judicial nomination remarks show Obama is more isolated than ever

Washington Post  "When I heard that President Obama was going to publicly announce his nominees for the D.C. Circuit Court today, I thought he would take the opportunity to show poise and make an effort to bolster his slipping presidency. I thought he would try to break out from the hand-to-hand combat in Washington and stem the growing malaise within his administration. So I was surprised that, instead, the president adopted a whiny, defensive pout. Obama would rather air his grievances with Republicans than present himself as an effective, engaged president. And no one in the White House can talk him out of it. That’s a bad sign for the president."
The writer twists the knife some more with this to which I've added emphasis:
"Recently, former President Bill Clinton was credited with — or blamed for, depending on your point of view — saying that, Obama doesn’t know how to be president.” Today was the clearest example I’ve seen in a while that the presidency just doesn’t suit Obama."

Karma! IRS Can’t Locate Its Receipts

Washington Free Beacon  Neener neener neener!

"The IRS spent over 4 million taxpayer dollars on a conference in 2010, CNN reported Tuesday evening. The actual amount wasted is unknown because the IRS was not required to keep its receipts, something that they require taxpayers to do.
"CNN correspondent Dana Bash discussed the excesses of the agency in a report on 360, including gifts, video spoofs and upscale hotel rooms for agency higher-ups, but the cost of those and the conference itself was unclear because the IRS had engaged in poor record-keeping:"....

The Hollow Core of Obamaism

Jonah Goldberg  "One of the reasons Obama elicits so much cynicism outside his cult of personality is that many of us suspect that his rhetoric is just so much marketing for protecting the perks and expanding prerogatives of a bloated administrative state.   Real wartime governments are prone to bloat and inefficiency too, but there is at least an ethos that says there is a priority higher than protecting the interests of bureaucrats. When you see a government acting as if taxpayer concerns are a joke and a devotion to limited government is cast as something between illegitimate dissent and paranoid dementia, hearing the head of that government exhort the citizenry to shut up and fall in line is nothing short of infuriating."

Sharpton and MSNBC - perfect for each other

American Thinker  "Sharpton has a long history of racism and anti-Semitism that trails him wherever he goes, though this has been neatly excised by MSNBC, Bill Clinton and others who have found it politically useful to rub elbows with Sharpton. This has been a shameful practice - the likes of Sharpton have done harm not only to fellow African-Americans but to the nation as a whole.

MSNBC Publicly Shamed For Employing Al Sharpton With His “Outrageous History Of Hate”…

Weasel Zippers  "Number of times Sharpton has apologized for his past actions: Zero."

WZ cites this Politico article:  "The evidence: A new documentary short from The New York Times and Retroreport.org about the 1987 Tawana Brawley hoax, during which Sharpton was found guilty of defaming a local prosecutor who he accused of attacking and raping the 15-year-old Brawley. As the documentary shows, there had been no rape; Brawley had defaced herself. Stevens also accuses Sharpton of using the Brawley case to inflame racial tensions and promote his own career."
....
""If you are an NBC exec and have kids, sit down with them and watch the Times documentary on Tawana Brawley," he writes. "And when your kids ask why your colleague Al Sharpton is working for NBC, you can explain to them why everything you’ve tried to teach them about honesty, fair play and decency is wrong and Al Sharpton is right." "

The Tawana Brawley Story  "Brawley, after all, was a 15-year old African American teenager, who had been allegedly assaulted by six white men — including a police officer — from her upstate New York community.
But as her tale played out on the nightly news, another story unfolded, one that raised serious questions about Brawley’s claims and her advisers, including the Rev. Al Sharpton."

Christie's big test: who will he pick to replace Sen. Lautenberg?

The odd couple
Big Government   "The death Monday of NJ Sen. Frank Lautenberg presen
ts Gov. Chris Christie with a host of difficult choices. This being New Jersey, of course, it is even more complicated as state law appears to be in conflict. It is unclear if a special election to fill the seat would occur this year, during the state's general election this November, or in the election next year. The implications of each affect Christie's calculus on this, his first big, national political test."

It's a lot more complicated than you might think; Whom he picks to replace Lautenberg will speak volumes. "Whom Christie selects to take Lautenberg’s seat in the interim will both affect and be affected by these considerations. ....
...."So let’s do a bit of old-fashioned speculating, and take a look at a few possible picks and what each could/would mean this year and beyond."

Real 'Bombshell' Is That Reporters More Experienced Than ABC's Trey Hardin Already Had to Know What He Revealed

And now, pray for Darrell Issa because he will be destroyed by Democrats.

Newsbusters  "In what some have described as a "bombshell" statement, ABC News Political analyst Trey Hardin said something on Monday morning any reporter with any kind of meaningful inside connections in Washington should have known, but apparently wouldn't dare say or write: "I can say with a very strong sense of certainty that there are people very close to this president that not only knew what the IRS were doing but authorized it."
"Martin continued: "It simply just does not happen at an agency level like that without political advisers likely in the West Wing certainly connected to the president’s ongoing campaign organization that didn’t know about it." Again, Kerry Picket at Breitbart News, released hearing testimony previous obtained (bolds are mine):"....  Read more.

War of words escalates between Issa and White House  "The pushback from the White House, in the person of David Plouffe, was a vicious smear of Issa that was debunked 20 years ago:
....
"Still, Plouffe's outrageous comments take the prize for lowest blow of the week. It appears that the White House has decided to get in the gutter to hit back against criticism of their handling of the IRS scandal and I'm sure Republicans won't be far behind in the race to the bottom."

Issa gets the Chicago treatment: Plouffe Suggests Issa May be a Criminal

White House Dossier "The kerfuffle over House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa’s calling White House Press Secretary Jay Carney a liar is nothing compared to the ugly Chicago, Alinskyite politics that reared its head in response.
Plouffe
"The very president who was supposed to be above something as pedestrian as politics has shown once again that he is in fact the ugliest practitioner of it since Richard Nixon.
" “Strong words from Mr Grand Theft Auto and suspected arsonist/insurance swindler. And loose ethically today,” tweeted David Plouffe Sunday in response to news that Issa had called into question Carney’s honesty."

...."This is effectively Obama roughing up his chief antagonist on Capitol Hill in the most coarse and malignant manner. It’s a sure signal to other White House allies, on Capitol Hill and elsewhere, to begin trying to destroy Issa.
"And it’s a desecration of Obama’s office. Then again, that’s nothing much new.
"But more interestingly, it may be a sign that the White House is much more gravely concerned about Issa than it lets on."

Free Bradley Manning at Meade

Blackfive "Not actually giving away free samples, just whining that treason is not important enough to lock someone up for. Friend of UJ and the site "the One-Eyed Jack" took one for the team and drove through the gaggle of dirty, nasty, patchouli-smelling hippies  to give us this report."
All in all, it seemed like much ado about nothing. There seemed to be one cop for every two protestors, and other than the Code Pink folks (in their trademark pink tops/shorts, etc), there seemed to be left wing radicals of almost every stripe (based on the signs I saw). The protestors did cause the powers that be to spend a ton of money, though…
"UJ: I think they look great on the other side of the fence. Too bad it is not in with Bradley. I'm kidding, I wholeheartedly support the right of the ass-clowns to conduct buffonery in support of traitors. It's the American way."

U.S. publishes details of missile base Israel wanted kept secret

This president is a foreign policy disaster!
McClatchy  ""If an enemy of Israel wanted to launch an attack against a facility, this would give him an easy how-to guide. This type of information is closely guarded and its release can jeopardize the entire facility," said an Israeli military official who commented on the publication of the proposal but declined to be named because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the facility. He declined to say whether plans for the facility have been altered as a result of the disclosure.

" "This is more than worrying, it is shocking," he said."
