Biden's False Catholicism

Except the Left is dogmatic and wrong, while the Church is dogmatic and right.  And nothing less than the truth -- stated unequivocally, dogmatically -- will be strong enough to purify an atmosphere so toxic with lies as the one Biden and Pelosi have been inhaling and exhaling most of their lives.  It’s too late for dialogue.

T.R. Clancy  . . .  "If the USCCB’s statement is both unprecedented and critical, it might be because Biden is only the second Catholic elected president, and his Catholic predecessor, even giving full demerits for JFK’s midnight skinny-dipping with Fiddle and Faddle, was not making frequent, public, and cranky assurances to voters that, once elected, he intended to pursue the most hostile anti-Catholic agenda in American history.  Just as Biden dared black voters not to support him at the risk of their racial identity, Biden dared Catholic voters not to elect him despite his obvious qualifications of personal religiosity and chumminess with the Pope.  At the same time his campaign was protecting Biden from chancing specifics about his policy positions, there was a steady stream of video shots of Biden wryly crossing himself, and irreligious news outlets publishing smarmy profiles taking reverent note of the ever-present rosary in Biden’s pocket and his weekly attendance at Mass.  At the first White House briefing on the evening of the inauguration, press secretary Jen Psaki batted away a legitimate question about Biden’s promise to restore federal funding for abortion with, “’I will take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic.’”

"But that’s the point: has anyone taken the opportunity to remind Joe Biden about being a devout Catholic?  Archbishop Gomez’s statement may have been his attempt to do that." . . .

"We should be getting used to these offbeat qualifications and standards by now. If not, C’mon man. You ain’t American."

C'mon, Joe  "Brave commentators or run-of-the-mill voters who challenge Joe Biden with a politically awkward question may find themselves answered with a familiar refrain, “c’mon man.”  That sarcastic nip hides the mental fog often evident in his expression and is used as a safeword for his spokespeople to put an end to further inquiry.  It is often followed by a quick retreat, a tug by a concerned spouse, or some other preplanned exit strategy.

"Biden’s remarks can be imprudent if unscripted and he offers only a marginally better performance squinting in front of a teleprompter.  It bodes ill for America that this shortcoming is not commonly found among the rivals he must now face as praetorian of the free world." . . .

Chinese fighter jets buzz Taiwan for second day as tensions rise days into Biden term

 Yahoo News

A total of 20 Chinese fighter jets have entered Taiwan’s air defence
identification zone in the past two days
-
"China ramped up its pressure on democratic Taiwan over the weekend, with an unusually large number of fighter jets approaching the island in a "test" for the new administration of US President Joe Biden.

"On Sunday, 12 Chinese fighter jets entered Taiwan’s air defence identification zone, along with a reconnaissance aircraft and two anti-submarine aircraft, Taiwan’s defence ministry said.

"A day earlier, China sent eight bomber planes capable of carrying nuclear weapons and four fighter jets to the same area to the southwest of the island, as well as one reconnaissance aircraft.

"On both occasions, Taiwan sent up aircraft, issued radio warnings to the Chinese aircraft, and deployed air defence missile systems to monitor their activity.

"Beijing claims self-governing Taiwan as part of its territory, and has been angered by a show of increased US support for Taiwan during Donald Trump’s administration." . . .

As Recall Effort Picks up Steam, Newsom Reportedly to Lift Stay-at-home Order in State

 Townhall

"The campaign to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom is inching closer to meeting the required number of signatures needed to qualify for a statewide ballot." . . .
According to Fox News, this is the sixth time Newsom has faced a recall effort in the last two years, but the governor’s controversial response to the coronavirus pandemic in the state—and his hypocrisy—have given the latest attempt more traction. In November, Newsom was photographed breaking many of his own COVID-19 restrictions during a dinner party at the French Laundry. . . .

Mike Lindell: No Regrets, Media Attacked Me for Doing 'Good for Country'

Newsmax  "MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said on Sunday that he has no regrets about supporting former President Donald Trump and his claims of widespread voter fraud in the election, even though his company’s products have been dropped by major retailers as a result of this backing.

"Lindell said that the media has attacked him ever since he threw his support behind Trump as he ran for president in 2016 and now they are attacking him, “because I’m trying to do something good for the country.”

"Speaking to host John Catsimatidis on "The Cats Roundtable" radio show on 970 AM in New York, Lindell said that “I don’t have any regrets. Not one. Trump is the best president we ever had. He kept his promises. He did so much for this country and so much for people in business and I have no regrets.. I would do it all again, only I would do it double.”

"When the MyPillow CEO was asked if he thought Trump would come back to run for president again in 2024, he insisted that  the inauguration of President Joe Biden “is a farce.' " . . .

Facts First: CNN Reports Biden Had to ‘Start From Scratch’ on Vaccine Rollout, but It’s Fake News

 Legal Insurrection

CNN reported anonymous Biden administration sources as saying “We are going to have to build everything from scratch”, but Biden’s chief medical adviser Dr. Tony Fauci severely undercut the report just hours later.

"CNN filed what on the surface looked like a blockbuster report Thursday about how sources within the Biden administration claimed that they were having to “start from scratch” on the Wuhan coronavirus vaccine rollout.

"Their White House correspondent M.J. Lee quoted multiple anonymous officials who stated, without evidence, that allegedly inheriting no vaccine rollout plan from the Trump administration “was just further affirmation of complete incompetence” on the part of former Trump officials:

Newly sworn in President Joe Biden and his advisers are inheriting no coronavirus vaccine distribution plan to speak of from the Trump administration, sources tell CNN, posing a significant challenge for the new White House.

[…]

… in the immediate hours following Biden being sworn into office on Wednesday, sources with direct knowledge of the new administration’s Covid-related work told CNN one of the biggest shocks that the Biden team had to digest during the transition period was what they saw as a complete lack of a vaccine distribution strategy under former President Donald Trump, even weeks after multiple vaccines were approved for use in the United States.

“There is nothing for us to rework. We are going to have to build everything from scratch,” one source said.

Another source described the moment that it became clear the Biden administration would have to essentially start from “square one” because there simply was no plan as: “Wow, just further affirmation of complete incompetence.”

"The big problem with this “report” is that Biden’s chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci undercut it pretty quickly. During a press briefing in an exchange with NBC News’ Kristen Welker, he noted that the incoming Biden team had some “fresh ideas” they would incorporate into the existing vaccine rollout plan already in place. He also said it included “some ideas that were not bad ideas”:" . . .

Biden's Transport secretary Buttigieg tells laid-off Keystone XL workers he hopes they get 'different union jobs'

Monica Showalter  "For a whiff of what's in store for the workers Democrats have long claimed to champion, take a look at this exchange between Secretary of Transport nominee Pete Buttigieg, and Sen. Ted Cruz, who ratted him out at his Senate confirmation hearings:" ...

. . . "The bottom line here is that right out the gate, Joe Biden has destroyed at least 1,200 union jobs, along with 10,000 planned union jobs that were expected to become available this year when he axed the Keystone XL pipeline. The knock-on jobs, of rental cars, restaurants, hotels, suppliers, and other small business that thrive on the edges of big infrastructure projects, are likely to go, too, some 42,000 of them, meaning quite a few new "good union jobs" to "create."

"And Buttigieg? He's got nothing but blithe scenarios, zero promises, no record, zero plan, and only "hopes" that all the people stiffed and disrupted by Biden will get  "different union jobs."

"Sound like a good start? Only to those who don't work in the real world for a living."

More on Mayor PeteBiden's regressive energy policy is one big war on the poor . . . "Two things stand out: Buttigieg wants a tax hike for gasoline to fund his so-called infrastructure projects.  Who will pay those taxes?  Those who drive.  And if someone needs to drive a lot, such as an independent truck-driver or a low-wage service worker who can't afford to live in the blue city center, but instead makes due with a commute on the outskirts of town, the tax becomes regressive.  The tax is the same for the rich or poor, and maybe the rich can afford it.  But the poor live on a low margin — the tax will likely cut to the bone for the poor, forcing them to go without, say, in food supplies or other necessities.  Tax hikes that are the same and unavoidably hit the poor the hardest." . . .

It's illuminating to compare Trump's first executive orders with Biden's

Andrea Widburg "Upon taking office, Biden signed nine out of 17 promised Executive Orders and then rested from his labors.  President Trump also started his presidency with some executive orders.  It's interesting to compare Trump's first executive orders with Biden's and to contemplate what demographics the different presidents were benefiting with those orders.

"Some of Trump's first 17 E.O.s are purely ministerial, but here are the substantive ones that he issued between his inauguration and mid-March.  After each, I've noted the probable beneficiaries of the E.O.:

"EO 13765: Minimizing the Economic Burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal — As the title notes, this was to help people who had lost their old insurance and were unable to afford new insurance under the Obto repeal Obamacare in favor of a market-based solution." . . .

"EO 13766: Expediting Environmental Reviews and Approvals for High Priority Infrastructure Projects — updating infrastructure benefits all Americans.amacare requirements.  It's notable that a feckless Republican Congress, especially thanks to John McCain, was unable

EO 13768: Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States

EO 13769: Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States

EO 13770: Ethics Commitments by Executive Branch Appointees

EO 13771: Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs

EO 13772: Core Principles for Regulating the United States Financial System

EO 13773: Enforcing Federal Law With Respect to Transnational Criminal Organizations and Preventing International Trafficking

EO 13774: Preventing Violence Against Federal, State, Tribal, and Local Law Enforcement Officers

EO 13776: Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety

EO 13777: Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda

EO 13778: Restoring the Rule of Law, Federalism, and Economic Growth by Reviewing the "Waters of the United States'' Rule — attacking insane, uncontrolled regulations.

EO 13779: White House Initiative To Promote Excellence and Innovation at Historically Black Colleges and Universities

EO 13780: Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States

EO 13783: Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth

EO 13784: Establishing the President's Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis

Meanwhile, these are the substantive EOs that Biden has issued so far: . . .

"From his first day in office, Trump acted for Americans.  From his first day in office, Biden has acted for illegal aliens, racial disharmony, sexually confused people, big government, and terrorists."

Is there any doubt in our minds that President Trump was a man on the side of this nation and its people? How can anyone absorb the lessons of this article and fail to realize the corruption and ignorance of much of the American media? TD

Sen. Rand Paul Shreds George Stephanopoulos for Being a Liberal Hack

Townhall   "Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Sunday spared with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos over the results of the 2020 presidential election. According to Paul, so-called "journalists" like Stephanopoulos repeatedly interject themselves into the voter fraud narrative, saying there is no evidence fraud existed." . . .

. . . "According to Stephanopoulos, the only reason Republicans are concerned about election integrity is because President Trump "fed them a big lie."

"Paul disagreed with the assessment. Instead, he slammed the host for inserting himself into the equation.

“ 'George, where you make a mistake is people coming from the liberal side like you, you immediately say everything’s a lie instead of saying there’s two sides to everything," Paul said. "Historically what would happen if I said I thought there were fraud, you would interview someone who said there wasn’t. Now you insert yourself in the middle and say the absolute fact is everything I’m saying is a lie.”

"The senator said reporters like Stephanopoulos have automatically called Republicans with concerns "liars" instead of presenting both sides of the equation."... More...

The leader of America and the free world

Buyer's Remorse Sets in Over Joe Biden, But It's Much too Late for the Crying  "Elections have consequences. That’s not a new adage, but it’s certainly one that’s extremely relevant right now. Joe Biden has been in office for all of four days, and he’s already destroyed tens of thousands of jobs while putting hundreds of thousands of other jobs in jeopardy. His moves in the energy sector alone promise to kill industry and raise the cost of living for everyone. He even managed to destroy women’s sports in between his moves to blow up our immigration enforcement. The myth of Biden being a moderate took all of a few days to get blown to bits."...

Why do such incompetent people so often get to be leaders over others?

. . . Joe Biden, by contrast, exhibits nothing resembling true leadership.  Only his accomplices, who coordinated the election fraud, can claim any organizational ability.  Biden will likely soon become a footnote, the predecessor to the only future president to be even less qualified than him. . . .

"On many occasions, O'Reilly would put multiple requests on Blake's desk and wait impatiently for them to be signed.  The hapless, oft-confused Blake would say, "Radar, what the heck am I signing?" "The clever O'Reilly would reply, "Oh, don't worry, sir. You want this."  "Okay, Radar.  If you say so." Joe Biden is this country's Lt. Colonel Henry Blake

'California is America, only sooner': how the progressive state could shape Biden's policies

Californians are poised for key jobs in an administration likely to use the state’s efforts as a guiding force

 UK Guardian

. . . "It was already a given that Californian interests would be well represented in Congress, with Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco serving as speaker of the House and Vice-President Kamala Harris, born and raised in the Bay Area, holding the tie-breaking vote in the Senate. But Biden has also tapped several Californians for key cabinet positions. Biden called on the state’s attorney general, Xavier Becerra, to run the US health department. He nominated the former Federal Reserve chair and University of California, Berkeley, professor Janet Yellen to serve as treasury secretary. Yellen’s colleague Jennifer Granholm was nominated as the next energy secretary." . . .

Any forests in your state?  How Regulations Made California's Fires Worse

For a dry and warm state prone to fires, regular clearing measures removing this vegetation should be common sense.  However, California has enacted several laws that heavily restrict such vital fire-preventing measures as logging, removal of dead trees, and clearing of dry underbrush.

During a congressional hearing in May, California congressman Tom McClintock blasted environmentalists for having fervently opposed such measures since the early 1970s.  Instead, they have been advocating that forests be left to their own devices – despite the fact that thousands of years of history shows that forests need to be appropriately maintained in order to reap all their benefits and reduce the risk of fires.  This understanding of the environment has too often been trumped by politics in California.

This article goes on...
...While California officials are happy to help, it’s clear they hope the offer goes both ways. Calling their new partnership a “game-changer for Californians” in a letter to Biden, Newsom championed the new administration’s goals and acknowledged the role he expects his state will play shaping national policy.
“Congratulations on your historic victory and for setting America on a path to build back better,” Newsom wrote. “California is eager to support your bold agenda by sharing our experiences implementing progressive policy on everything from workers’ rights to climate change.”
Newsom included several requests, including reinstated funding for the high-speed rail that’s far behind schedule and badly over budget, help with financing programs to house the homeless, and additional emergency aid beyond what was already promised to the state in the December stimulus.  ...
