Newly Confirmed Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Unhinged Rants

Legal Insurrection

"The new Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins is a woman of the far left, who fits in perfectly with Elizabeth Warren and Ayanna Pressley, both of whom supported her candidacy.

"In January, she was approached by reporters who just wanted to ask her some questions, but she acted like she was being ambushed and threatened to call the police on them." . . .

'Most woketard thing I've ever witnessed': 'West Side Story' hammered for politics

'Woke has destroyed one golden goose after another'

Nolte says "serial liars" in media are making all kinds of phony excuses for the historic flop, but "the truth is that woke is box office poison. Why is woke box office poison? Because art fails when it lies and woke is not only a lie; it is a violation of human nature."

WND  "In what is being called a "shameful" opening and a box-office "catastrophe," the collapse of Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" is being blamed on the director's desire to go "woke," making a politically correct change to the original version.

"The weekend tally for the remake of the 1961 classic was an astonishingly low $10.5 million, with a worldwide gross of $14.9 million. The movie actually cost $100 million to produce, and some estimate the promotional budget at another $100 million.

"John Nolte of Breitbart News is among the most vocal about the film's tanking, writing: "In interview after interview, director Steven Spielberg premised his rationale for remaking 'West Side Story' on 'correcting' it, which is simply the most woketard thing I've ever witnessed.

"Here you have a classic piece of Americana, a beloved property, an iconic chunk of our shared culture that not only won ten Oscars, including Best Picture but is also still beloved; and like some superior, smug jerk straight out of Orwell's 1984, Spielberg decides he needs to correct something that, by any moral measure, does not need correcting.

"Even what the fascist woketards see as the original movie's greatest sin – casting Natalie Wood as Maria – is nothing less than a crybaby lament. There was nothing at all immoral about that casting choice. On the contrary, Natalie Wood's portrayal was perfectly respectful.

"The result? To the surprise of no one who understands human nature, Spielberg's 'correction,' which cost $100 million to produce and at least as much to promote, is a box office catastrophe." . . .

I have no interest in remakes of shows I once enjoyed such as "Get Smart", where the wiser Agent 99 became oppressingly condescending toward Max; the pattern for most remakes of older shows. I see no justification in this treatment of older movies with the glaring exception of wishing blacks had been treated with more respect instead of that usual wide-eyed wonder. TD

Chris Wallace Moving to CNN Says More About CNN Than Wallace

So much for this respected journalist

Brave New World

Wallace to Join CNN With New Weekday Show

RedState  "The big media news over the weekend was the announcement that Chris Wallace was leaving Fox News and the subsequent revelation that he is heading to CNN’s new digital platform, CNN+. While there are a lot of conservatives who have been critical of Wallace over the last couple of years, the move says less about his possible shifting political leanings or what at the network may have driven him out and more about the upcoming shift we’ll be seeing from CNN.

"With a corporate merger and new corporate overlords, it’s very likely that CNN is going to be seeing a re-alignment toward its original mission of journalism. Wallace is a big hire in that regard. He is a longtime newsman who has shown over the last two years that he can be tough toward the left and the right. He is also fairly well-respected across multiple networks. It’s a solid public relations move for CNN.

"A bit below the surface, though, is the acknowledgment that CNN’s corporate owners realize something Fox News realized a few years ago: Digital content isn’t the future. It’s right now." . . .

CNN’s Stelter: Chris Wallace Departure ‘Speaks Volumes’ About Fox News Radicalism

“Honored and Delighted to Join Jeff Zucker and His Great Team” – Chris Wallace will Join CNN as Anchor for CNN+   Define great.

“I am thrilled to join CNN+. After decades in broadcast and cable news, I am excited to explore the world of streaming. I look forward to the new freedom and flexibility streaming affords in interviewing major figures across the news landscape—and finding new ways to tell stories,” said Wallace. “As I embark on this adventure, I am honored and delighted to join Jeff Zucker and his great team. I can’t wait to get started.”

National Review: Chris Wallace Leaving Fox News after 18 Years

As a veteran of the network, Chris Wallace had earned a reputation for being a political moderate who introduced more centrist material and talent into Fox News’ largely right-of-center repertoire. He received criticism for moderating the 2020 presidential debate in a way that many in conservative circles claimed was biased and favored towards then Democratic nominee Joe Biden. In another episode, Wallace departed from the opinion of other Fox News anchors when he praised Jen Psaki as “one of the best press secretaries ever” after Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked her challenging questions about the border crisis during a briefing. El Salvador's President Accuses Biden Administration of Corruption -- and Drops Private Text Messages When Challenged

Joe Biden: The Most Corrupt President Since Warren Harding  "The headlines about the massive griftocracy that is the Biden family are ramping up.

"No less than former President Donald Trump cited the American Spectator piece, “Arrangement in Hunter Green,” penned by the inimitable Dov Fischer.

"In the article, Dov says, among other very pointed reveals, this:

In contemplating the pay-to-play corruption, nowhere has there ever been as much evident and overt financial filth under the color of the White House as there has been in the Biden orbit. Some day, perhaps in another era, someone will look back when there no longer is a Left to cover up Biden nonfeasance, malfeasance, and misfeasance. Someday, the entire story will come out: Biden’s lifetime of manipulating White assembly-line Rust Belt union workers, playing them for dummies, and posing as a working-class stiff from Scranton who rides the trains. Give the guy his due: In one solitary area of life, Biden truly figured out and discovered the color of his parachute, the one and only area where he really does excel: making wealthy people of nuclear family mediocrities by empowering and enabling them to leverage his government roles to gain them insider access to millions. George Neumayr has written on it. So has Peter Schweizer. But there always is more because, for the Bidens — especially Hunter — it is never enough.

Over there at the New York Post, here is the headline from Mary Kay Linge: “Hunter Biden’s firm helped China gain control of electric-car mineral: report.”

"This week, Post columnist Miranda Devine releases her new book, Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.

"Devine’s book, as released excerpts show in vivid detail, reveals a family that has spent the decades of Joe Biden’s career grifting off of his positions as U.S. senator from Delaware and vice president of the United States." . . .

Laptop from Hell by Miranda Devine   . . ."A treasure trove of corporate documents, emails, text messages, photographs, and voice recordings, spanning a decade, the laptop provided the first evidence that President Joe Biden was involved in his son’s ventures in China, Ukraine, and beyond, despite his repeated denials.

"This intimate insight into Hunter’s dissolute lifestyle shows he was incapable of holding down a job, let alone being paid tens of millions of dollars in high-powered international business deals by foreign interests, unless he had something else of value to sell—which of course he did. He was the son of the vice president who would go on to become the leader of the free world."

Biden’s poll numbers are in the 30s in one poll after another as many Americans struggle in an economy marred by record inflation. But Biden blamed his tanking approval on American workers getting “inaccurate information.”

Cracked Icons; The corrupt and mediocre heroes of the Left are imploding.

Single-handedly the Biden puppeteers have managed to restore the Trump record of achievement simply by doing the opposite of what Trump did, thereby ensuring their own failure and reminding voters of what once was working.

Victor Davis Hanson  "With fits and starts, we are slowly returning to reality after four years of mass hysteria. Our media-deified, progressive icons are finally being exposed as the deceivers they always were.

                                        Jussieopath

"From the moment details emerged surrounding Jussie Smollett’s hate-crime hoax, any sane, non-woke person could have recognized he was more than just a pathological liar. Smollett was also a conniving, mean-spirited egoist. He was intent on rescuing his fading acting career by libeling the Chicago police, smearing white Trump supporters as violent racists, and self-servingly advancing the lie of a purported hate crime epidemic against blacks.

"To believe Jussie, as so many of the liberal establishment were eager to do, one had to believe from the get-go the utterly unbelievable: MAGA-hatted white racists (and fans of the fading Empire no less) routinely roam liberal Chicago in subfreezing temperatures at 2:00 a.m.. They typically go out, ready for victims, equipped with requisite bleach and representational hangman’s nooses.

"You see, before such devils bumped into Jussie Smollett, they had been characteristically on the lookout in their late night and early morning patrols for heroic gay black actors to take out—all unbeknownst to us

"The two large white ragers were easily driven off by diminutive Jussie. The black Achilles, sandwich in one hand, cell phone in the other, battled his white Trojan brutes in Homeric fashion. But at a cost: his dueling earned him heroic wounds, real and spiritual.

"The hateful Hectors managed to put a noose around poor Jussie’s neck, as he later showed police. They inflicted a supposedly career-threatening small cut below his eye. And as superhuman demons, they even splattered him with bleach that somehow defied the laws of chemistry and did not freeze in that subzero early morning." . . .

The Biden presidency has made us vulnerable to our enemies

The weak, ineffectual, most-probably-criminal Joe Biden, thanks to his actions and appointments to key positions, has made this nation vulnerable to its outspoken enemies. It's clear that our leadership role in the world has become nonexistent, making it a snap for our adversaries to have easy pickings on the victims they choose.

American Thinker   For over 100 years, the United States was viewed by the rest of the world as the protector of the weak, defender of the oppressed, and an economic giant that led the free world to defeat the fascist regimes of Germany and Japan and later caused the former Soviet Union to collapse under our economic and military might.  But in a frightening mere ten months, under the current bumbling Biden regime, we are now viewed as a powerless, aimlessly floating ship, adrift and captainless.  Our outspoken enemies, China, Iran, and Russia, see this clearly and are moving quickly to take advantage of our now obvious-to-all vulnerability.  Sadly and to our shame, those nations who once proudly looked up to us, following in our footsteps to fight oppression, now have second thoughts about our capability to lead.  We are in deep doo-doo.

"China, a vast, fascistic, military, and economic imperial giant, currently threatening the takeover of Taiwan, is now simultaneously making inroads into the Atlantic.  Not only does it control the vital Panama Canal, but also the Wall Street Journal reports that the Chinese are now negotiating with the west African country of Equatorial Guinea to set up a naval base on its shore, making it a two-ocean threat to our national security.  Undoubtedly, the Chinese, with their economic clout, will bribe the corrupt leaders of this poverty-racked nation to permit its modern, aggressive warships to sail the Atlantic.  They will rule that ocean.

"Putin, as of this writing, is massing nearly 200,000 troops ready to invade Ukraine again.  He means business, and he knows Biden all too well." . . .

Finding Our Hope in the Beauty of America

"The next time the urge to consume and to be entertained attacks, take it for a drive to a place of beauty."

Tillamook County, Oregon

The American Spectator  "Every month, my work takes me driving on country roads through the Amish country of eastern Ohio in Holmes, Coshocton, and Tuscarawas Counties. I look forward to it, except if the weather is bad and those roads pose a challenge. It is beautiful in a very specific way. The country vistas soothe the eye wherever one might be. But the way that the people inhabit the land is a part of the beauty that is so consistently present for me when I am there.

"One my way east from my home in southwestern Ohio, I see the great corn and bean farms on the flat expanses mid-state, far away from the bluffs that lead down to the Ohio River along its long course and away from the edges of Appalachia in the south and the mid- and southeast.

"In those prairie lands, the farms are on a giant scale, the farmhouses far apart, and the machinery that works the land is huge and costs hundreds of thousands to buy. The country roads are quiet, and few people are to be seen, save those zipping somewhere enclosed in their vehicles.

"These farms are awesome. They are efficient and competitive and have fed and continue to feed far more than doomsaying economists ever believed possible, and have led the way in making the world less plagued by famine than at any time in history. And yet, there is a beauty that once was present in these lands that is now gone.

"That beauty has to do with scale. The scale in Holmes is of a different order. Farmhouses are not so far away from each other that a short walk or a loud shout can reach a neighbor." . . .

10 Worst Colleges for Free Speech: 2021

FIRE  "Every year since 2011, FIRE has published a list of the worst colleges for free speech in America. As always, each year’s “worst of the worst” list is presented in no particular order, and they include both public and private institutions. Public colleges and universities are bound by the First Amendment; the private colleges on these lists, though not required by the Constitution to protect student and faculty speech rights, explicitly promise to do so.

"Starting in 2018, FIRE also began awarding a Lifetime Censorship Award as part of these annual lists. This “honor” goes to the one college or university that is so frequently discussed as a contender for our annual worst colleges for free speech list that it deserves special recognition. DePaul University was the inaugural recipient in 2018 and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute earned the award in 2020. Lifetime Censorship Awards are not given out every year — only in those years where there is a particularly worthy recipient.

Rittenhouse responds to ASU protestors: ‘I’m going to ASU… in person’   After demands from Arizona State University students that Kyle Rittenhouse – the now-18-year-old who was acquitted of all charges brought against him when he defended himself against rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin – be banned from going to ASU, Rittenhouse himself issued a simple response: “I’m going.”

"In an interview with conservative commentator Steven Crowder, Rittenhouse touched on the “very, very small” ASU student protest against him, calling him a “white supremacist killer,” declaring that, despite the students opposition to him, he still plans to complete his undergraduate degree there.

"“I’m going to ASU in the spring in person”, Rittenhouse said. “I want to do my 4-year [undergraduate degree] there before I take the LSAT and go do my three years of law [school]”.

"[RELATED: ASU rejects student demands, refuses to ban Rittenhouse from future enrollment]   "Initially, Rittenhouse wanted to become a nurse. But after alleging “prosecutorial misconduct” in his own trial, he now hopes to become a criminal defense attorney.

"Rittenhouse also alleges that, contrary to what ASU claimed in an email to Campus Reform, he was admitted as a student.

“ 'I’m enrolled, I’m just not in any classes. I’m admitted; I have a student portfolio,” Rittenhouse claimed in the interview with Crowder. " . . .

‘Don’t Throw That At Me’: Martha MacCallum Explodes On BLM Leader Who Accuses Her Of ‘White Privilege’

 Daily Caller

“You live from a place of white privilege, where you don’t really understand how they treat us in New York City,” Newsome continued.

"Fox News host Martha MacCallum fired back at a BLM leader on Friday after he accused her of living from a place of “white privilege.”

"During a heated segment of “The Story,” Hawk Newsome, who co-founded Black Lives Matter of Greater New York with his sister, accused MacCallum of “white privilege” as they discussed pro-police leaders in New York City. The host immediately snapped back at Newsome following the accusation, saying, “Don’t throw that at me.' ” . . .

The ‘Woke’ Got What They Wanted—and Then What?

Victor Davis Hanson

The people like the police and hate crime. Even the rich among the woke are now scared—some of whom sowed the wind of decriminalization and are themselves reaping the whirlwind of crime.

"The “woke” movement was giddy after Jan. 20, 2021. The Left controlled both houses of Congress.

"Joe Biden was drafted as the necessary veneer of 1980s Democratic normality to ram through an otherwise hard Left agenda.

"All the major cultural, financial, economic, entertainment, and media institutions had played various roles in seeing former president Donald Trump not just defeated, but also impeached, twice. He was written off as persona non grata after the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

"So, academia, corporate boardrooms, Hollywood, the media, the Pentagon, professional sports teams, Silicon Valley, and Wall Street in near hysterical fashion all boarded the woke train. All boasted of ferreting out “white rage,” and hiring legions of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” czars.

"Critical race theory would be mainstreamed to excise racism and discrimination by embracing racism and discrimination.

“Crime” was to be seen now mostly as a construct created by the elite to protect their own privilege, prerogatives, and property. Shoplifting, looting, and street thuggery were just part of living in a normal city.

“ 'Social justice warriors” could replace defunded police. Gone would be most bail, incarceration, mandatory jail time, stop-and-frisk, and broken-windows deterrent policies.

"Green agendas, the Left hoped, would fundamentally transform America in putting an immediate stop to man-made “climate change.” So, lots of oil and gas leases were either canceled or their fees vastly increased. Pipelines were stopped. Gas and oil companies were warned that everything from lack of financing to new regulations would soon put them out of business. The golden age of wind and batteries was already upon us." . . .

Ron DeSantis comes out with a five-point workable plan to get around Biden on illegal immigation

Monica Showalter  "The more you look at Florida's governor, Ron DeSantis, the more you like him.

"Here's his new plan on how to deal with Joe Biden's open borders policies that have brought the surge of illegal aliens into the country, in a neatly presented, effectively communicated Twitter summary:

. . .  " DeSantis has done a yeoman's job on identifying what a governor can do on illegal immigration — and doing it.  He must have extremely good people, given the well considered nature of these doable proposals.

"All of this undercuts badly Joe Biden's plan for open borders and unlimited illegal immigration.  That's what Americans want.

"We can add another hashmark-scratchmark into the "presidential" column for Ron DeSantis for this one."
