Lets discuss the media, also known as the MSM (Mainstream Media), the "drive-by media"

Yes, Virginia, There Is Truth in Media  "Follow -- or better yet, join -- the TEA Party.  Know what it really stands for -- not just the imbecilic, racist picture old media and Saturday Night Live paint.  Listen to Rush Limbaugh.  No matter what you believe him to be, Limbaugh is still the standard-bearer of truth in the muddied political world.  Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Prager, and Dennis Miller are other good conservative radio choices."

Big Journalism; MEDIA COOPERATES WITH OBAMA'S DESPERATELY SLEAZY CAMPAIGN "This isn't a case of media bias; it's how the corrupt media and the Obama campaign are working together, frequently directly, to turn Romney into an unacceptable alternative to this failed president.
"Considering Obama's failed record, the march is obviously on to win Obama reelection in the only way possible: demonize and undermine Romney at every turn."

Shouldn't these charges made against the MSM be a big enough deal to be covered by the media?

Newsbusters; Ex-SNL's Dana Carvey Jabs Romney: 'I Hate Poor People'; Obama Is Like a 'Zen Master'  "Appearing as a guest on Friday's The Tonight Show on NBC, former Saturday Night Live cast member Dana Carvey demonstrated the tendency of comedians to have fun with President Obama in a fashion that builds him up while poking fun at Republicans in a way that tears them down."

The Obama Way: Selling Failure as Success

American Thinker   "While "success" is most often measured by its return, benefit, or gain, with no way to prove otherwise, this administration chooses to measure its success by "how much worse the recession might have been" if they had not spent the $5 trillion.  In fact, as we get closer to the election, these same experts are now telling us that the $5 trillion they spent actually saved the world from another Great Depression.
"....Having gained nothing from our $5 trillion somehow proves that they were right to spend it and save us all from "much worse." "
Then the Obamites hit us with this  bit of leftist logic:
" "The economy turns out to have been far worse ... than we knew at the time" simply tells us that Mr. Obama never understood the problems to begin with."

This article ends with this diagnosis of lib- er, progressivism:

"Only in the liberal Democratic world is failure proof of success.  We see it not only in the White House, but in Congress, at our universities, and in increases in compensation for fewer hours and less productivity demanded by our municipal unions.
"Dylan told us that "There is no success like failure," but in fact, Mr. Obama has learned nothing from his failures during more than three years of on-the-job training.  And failure is no success at all."

Condi for veep! YES! er...No!

This is why TW only posted one link for this story this morning; the whole thing was too much of a bandwagon to suit me.

Rick Moran; No - it won't be Condi for Veep"Romney has spent the last year running away from George Bush. Why would he pick someone so closely associated with the former president?
"If Romney is going to go with a pick outside the box -- and I don't believe he will -- there are plenty of other choices he could make. Condi Rice isn't one of them."
Here is a sample of the tolerant liberal invective directed at Rice in the past. This would be nothing compared to what would come her way as Romney's running mate.
I print this offensive cartoon because you must all see what the left is like under all their pseudo-compassionate platitudes.
oliphant_rice.gif
Here is commentary on the above cartoon in ALAS! A Blog: "I think this is borderline racist. There’s nothing wrong with depicting Rice as a parrot – doing so in no way makes fun of her race, and the cartoon would make just as much sense if she were white. But why did he have to draw her lips that way? Yes, it’s a cartoonist’s job to exaggerate, but a caricaturist as hugely skilled as Oliphant could have drawn Rice without reminding us of the history of racist big-lipped caricatures of blacks. (From the interviews I’ve read, my guess is that Oliphant would dismiss
such a concern as political correctness.)"

Ramesh PonnuruThe Case Against Condi  "I doubt Romney is seriously considering Rice, because it seems so obvious that she would be a disastrous pick. Just in case there are people who do not see this, let me run through some of the reasons."...

Obama's stash

Political Cartoons by Lisa Benson
KEN ROGULSKI: Why are you here?

WOMAN: To get some money.
ROGULSKI: What kind of money?
WOMAN: Obama money.
ROGULSKI: Where's it coming from?
WOMAN: Obama.
ROGULSKI: And where did Obama get it?
WOMAN: I don't know. His stash. I don't know. I don't know where he got it from but he's giving it to us, to help us. We love him. That's why we voted for him. Obama! Obama!

Romney Considering Pro-Choice Architect of Bush Foreign Policy for VP

CNS  "Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has put former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice “near the top of the list” of his potential running mates, the Drudge Report revealed Thursday evening.

"Rice favors legalized abortion--calling herself "mildly pro-choice"--and was a leading architect of President George W. Bush’s foreign policy, which aimed, as Bush put it in his second inaugural address, at “ending tyranny in our world.”
"Rice served as national security adviser in Bush’s first term and as secretary of state in his second."
More on this this evening if the story progresses. I just have too many doubts right now about her since she is too closely affected by the left's hatred of George Bush.

Alan Caruba; "Executive Tyranny"; If this doesn't make you want to vote Obama out of office, please do not have children

Warning Signs  "A study, “Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism”, commissioned by the Department of Homeland Security identified the following characteristics of potential “terrorists.”
# Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;
# Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;
# People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty, opposed to the United Nations, etc.);
# Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;
# Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;
# People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”
Do you find yourself described in this list anywhere?

Arguments Do Not Have Testicles

Mike Adams  "Recently, a student asked me whether I had a right to speak out on abortion given that I am a man and could never experience pregnancy. I countered by asking him whether arguments have testicles. The question drew laughter from other students who were listening to the exchange. But my point was serious and worth addressing at length.
"The idea that men are ineligible to speak out on abortion has at least six flaws, each of which should be understood and articulated by men who desire to speak on the issue. Those argumentative flaws follow in no particular order of importance:"....
....
"Liberals are constantly trying to reduce the marketplace of ideas by reducing the number of voices that are eligible to participate. They have already silenced 52 million voices with the blade of a sharp knife. We cannot let them do further damage with dull ideas. Sharpening arguments requires vigorous debate. And vigorous debate requires acceptance of the idea that arguments are not gendered. Neither is the right to speak on matters of profound moral consequence."

Romney speaks at the NAACP

Thomas Lifson: Mitt gets a standing ovation at the NAACP   "Mitt may be finding his campaign persona, bit by bit. Fortitude is not a bad quality. People respect it.
"Update: The mainstream media has chosen to focus on the boos, and downplay if not ignore the standing ovation. Let them! They are in denial, and cannot put a cofferdam around momentum. Mitt went into the Lion's den and emerged with a standing ovation. He knows it, we know it, and the NAACP knows it."

Allahpundit gives us excerpts of quotes from numerous sources. Via Hot Air. The opinions run the gamut from Romney being a race-baiting scoundrel to being a courageous crusader.

Conservative Black ChickRomney Woos NAACP with Passion and Conviction  "Other than getting booed when he talked of repealing Obamacare, which was unnecessarily provocative and he shouldn’t have mentioned it, Romney hit a home run with the NAACP speech. He was at ease, genuine and aggressive in a way I’ve never seen him before. Romney didn’t do anything magical. He simply took the Republican message to black voters and curiously didn’t use the word Republican once. This will go a long way in earning Romney respect from black liberals."

Why Obama and NAACP hate Romney’s education plan   "Yesterday, during his speech at the annual NAACP National Conference in Houston, Gov. Mitt Romney surprised everyone with his novel approach to education funding, which not only makes ‘good walking around sense’ but, also drew concerted agreement from one of the primary ‘constituents’ of the conferees–poor, urban black students."

Mitt Romney Draws Cheers and a Boo at the NAACP Convention  "Mitt Romney’s speech played surprisingly well with today’s audience, and may have helped him shed his unfortunate image as a panderer. It certainly raises an interesting question. Given Mitt Romney’s courage to address an audience he could expect to be hostile to his message, when will President Barack Obama show similar courage and clearly explain and defend his policies before, say, a school choice coalition convention or the Conference of Catholic Bishops?"

"While O'Brien popped the question but made no accusations, MSNBC hosts Lawrence O'Donnell and Toure championed this conspiratorial claim, including O'Donnell alleging that Romney wanted to appeal to racists.
"Later in the interview, O'Brien sniffed around some Romney post-speech remarks and asked more questions about his underlying motives, suggesting a racial intent."

Another leftist Obamanation: Obama Ends Welfare Reform As We Know It

National Review Online  "This afternoon, President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released an official policy directive undermining the welfare reform law of 1996. The new policy guts the federal work requirements that have been the foundation of that law — one of the most successful domestic policy reforms in the 20th century."
....In the past, state bureaucrats have attempted to define activities such as hula dancing, attending Weight Watchers, and bed rest as “work.” Welfare reform instituted work standards to block these dodges. Now that the Obama administration has abolished those standards, we can expect “work” in the TANF program to mean anything but work.
‘Add Welfare Reform to List of Laws Obama Refuses to Follow’  "Last year, the RSC introduced the Welfare Reform Act of 2011 to build upon the 1996 law including requiring able-bodied adult beneficiaries of food stamps to work or prepare for a job and full disclosure of welfare spending.

"“By waiving the law’s requirements, President Obama will make it harder for Americans to escape poverty. He is hurting the very people he claims to help,” Jordan added of today’s move."
Get this man out of office before he does more damage to this nation at home and abroad!

Obama skips the NAACP convention

http://terrellaftermath.com/

CNN: Obama camp cites 'scheduling conflict' for NAACP convention no-show  Just as Obama requested, CNN had his back and covered for him with this: "While the president's schedule appeared to be wide open for Thursday–raising questions as to why his campaign cited "scheduling conflicts"–CNN confirmed Thursday morning that Obama and his wife, Michelle, are sitting down for an interview with CBS News.
"The president also holds his daily briefing with senior aides and advisers."

Feds Encourage Food Stamps: Helps Local Economies, 'Everyone Wins'

The Weekly Standard  Via Infidel Bloggers
"And another USDA food stamps document,  ironically titled "Building a Healthy America: A Profile of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program," suggests that despite some people not wanting to participate in the program due to "a sense that benefits are not needed," more people should change their mind--and sign up for the social welfare program."  Below:SNAP-QA

What I Miss About America

American Thinker  We found this article so interesting that we printed here in it's entirety instead of using pull-out quotes as a tease.

"Here are just a few of the things I miss since America entered the golden age of Hope and Change in January 2009."

  •   Optimism
  •   Going for minutes, hours, even days, without worrying about what weird insanity the   government is dreaming up next
  •   Having money
  •   The Border Patrol
  •   Looking up at the moon and thinking, "America - we own space!"
  •   Having a president whose background isn't more closely guarded than the formula for Coke
  •   Going on vacation without the TSA auditioning me for "Stella Does Dallas"
  •   Jobs
  •   Not feeling like I have to whisper, if I say something that's not completely, 100% complimentary about our president
  •   Listening to the latest rant against Israel at the UN, without wondering if it's coming from the American Ambassador
  •   Feeling protected
  •   Having a president who doesn't want to fundamentally transform me
  •   Getting a doctor's appointment right away and not thinking, "That was nice while it lasted."
  •   Having a president who would never, ever bow to the Saudi king, the Chinese premier, the Japanese prime minister and the mayor of Tampa
  •  Gazing up at the sky and not wondering if that's a bird or a drone
  •   Snacking on whatever I want, while the First Lady remains calm and indifferent
  •   Having a president who thinks it would be unimaginably crazy to bring the 9/11 conspirators to New York for a civil trial
  •   Privacy
  •  Separation of State and Media
  •  College graduates with a future in America, not China or Hong Kong
  •   Having a president who inspires us to feel that Americans are all in this game together
  •   A dollar that's worth 100 cents and isn't signed by a tax cheat
  •   America's Triple-A rating
  •   Having a president who doesn't seem needier for attention than Paris Hilton
  •   Strolling through the mall without worrying about racially-motivated flash mobs
  •   Looking at maps without trying to figure out where I can run
  •   Reading 1984 as an interesting work of fiction
  •   Dignity
  •   Pride
