Speaking of movies; ‘The Hope and the Change’: New Citizens United Movie Blasts Obama

Daily Beast   "Romney fans, get ready: Citizens United is rolling out a powerful new anti-Obama video that will be the talk of the convention in Tampa."

"The Hope and the Change" is a more sophisticated and potentially potent effort than the Hillary project was. Instead of featuring strident partisan voices such as Morris or Ann Coulter, the cast of 40 is composed entirely of registered Democrats and independents who voted for Obama in 2008. This reflects a political premise shared by Bossie and Stephen K. Bannon, the film’s director—that the 2012 election will be decided by that group of voters in key states whose enthusiasm for Obama has descended toward disillusion.
....
"In the film’s opening segment, a haunting musical strain plays as Obama’s campaign plane (dubbed “Change”) is seen descending through the clouds over Denver, interspersed with vast crowd scenes of breathlessly expectant supporters. Bits of Obama’s cosmic rhetoric (“this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”) are intercut with close-ups of faces twisted in ecstatic zeal, culminating in Obama’s memorable line, “We are the ones we have been waiting for.” "
...."The film will go into theatrical release in selected cities in September, and, if all proceeds according to plan, will play several dozen times on a cable channel right up to election day."

"2016 Obama’s America" #3 at the box office so far

Deadline Hollywood  "That’s  stunning because it’s playing in a 1/3 less theaters across North American than the other wide release actioners....However, its hot pre-sales have made the pic frontloaded, and its ranking will fall steeply by end of Sunday. But its new cume after this weekend could make it the #1 conservative documentary ...The success of the anti-Obama pic comes on the eve of the Republican National Convention August 27-30. This is turning into the weakest weekend of  Summer 2012 especially for new movies (with the exception of the anti-Obama pic)."

Cricket and the United States of America

From the British Freedom blog

"If you were an American or Canadian in 1844 you could be forgiven for believing that the game of cricket would long be a staple of your country. Haverford College played up until 1925, touring many English public schools, but in truth the game had started to fade into obscurity by 1905.
"Baseball burst into the American consciousness and shelved cricket in the process.
"Whereas cricket was steeped in Englishness, baseball embodied the burgeoning identity of a new nation. As in England, cricket in America was elitist, mainly played by those with the luxury of not having to work. Away from the lush and privileged backdrop of country clubs baseball grew. With minimal equipment required, and a more simplified set of rules and a shorter format, the new sport took root."
Did Cricket inspire bits like this?
Don't tell me you didn't know this was coming.

Must-read article- Charles Krauthammer:The Cordesman criteria

Charles Krauthammer  "Either Israel is engaged in the most elaborate ruse since the Trojan horse or it is on the cusp of a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

"What’s alarming is not just Iran’s increasing store of enriched uranium or the growing sophistication of its rocketry. It’s also the increasingly menacing annihilationist threats emanating from Iran’s leaders. Israel’s existence is “an insult to all humanity,” says President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. “Anyone who loves freedom and justice must strive for the annihilation of the Zionist regime.” Explains the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israel is “a true cancer tumor on this region that should be cut off.”"  Read more...

The Cordesman article Krauthammer refers to: Iran: Preventing War by Making It Credible    "It is equally possible, however, that war can come from the same conditions that helped trigger World War II—years of negotiations and threats, where the threats failed to be taken seriously until war become all too real.
....
"Political maneuvering and opportunism does, however, raise tensions, while the administration’s efforts to damp tensions down may make Iran feel that the threats growing out of U.S. politics are beginning to seem hollow."
....
The United States has many options for such attacks if they are necessary, and it can talk about them as exercises or war college studies without giving away any details. In fact, the United States can confront Iran with many more options than Iran can react to, while making it clear to our allies just how credible U.S. options can be as a last resort. The United States can—and should—speak softly while providing the clearest possible picture of the fact that it carries a big stick.
Do you think this show of determination will come from a president carrying a load of guilt over American military power; a president who is a student of anti-war activist Bill Ayres and numerous anti-American mentors? I cannot imagine any "gutsy calls" in Obama's future, but with his obsession for re-election that surpasses all regard for damage to this nation, do not rule it out. TD

Is it too much to hope President Obama will not turn out to be President Jubilation T. Cornpone?

Anderson Cooper Takes DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz to Task for Misquoting L.A. Times In Fundraising Pitch

NewsBusters   "There are some lies told by the DNC that even CNN can’t let slide.  Such is the case with a recent DNC fundraising email written by Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz which misquotes the L.A. Times in order to attack Mitt Romney.
"The email at question centers around the RNC platform on abortion which has remained the same for the past twelve years in its steadfast support for the protection life. ...
" The email written by Ms. Schultz said the following:
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are now, incredibly, saying they don't agree with the policies of the party whose nomination they're about to accept, but guess what? The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that the platform was, and I quote, "written at the direction of Romney's campaign."
"On his August 23 program, Anderson Cooper called out the Chairwoman for misquoting the L.A. Times, but Ms. Schultz stubbornly refused to admit fault.  Throughout the interview, Cooper corrects Schultz’s lies, pointing out that "Mitt Romney did not design or direct the writing of the Republican Party platform. In particular, the language on abortion is virtually the same as it's been for years." "

Big Journalism; DWS When Confronted On Lie: 'It Doesn't Matter'  "CNN's Anderson Cooper doggedly tries to get DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to acknowledge the truth behind her false claims about Mitt Romney's position on abortion."

The heading to the above said Schultz was "torn to shreds", but Rush Limbaugh fervently disagrees in this piece:  Cooper Performs Random Act of Journalism on Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz
But I don't think he "profoundly embarrassed" her. I don't think she can be embarrassed. I don't think Biden can be embarrassed. Oh, speaking of that, Charlie Rangel said (impression), "You're damn right Biden was talking about slavery and he's damn right about it!"Yeah, Rangel's out saying, "Damn right he was talking about slavery." Another circling of the wagons around Plugs. Anyway, maybe I'm hearing this differently than you guys, and I didn't see it. Maybe Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz looked guilty, but... (interruption) Okay, HR says he saw it and she looked guilty. Fine. When you just hear it, she got her message out: Romney's lying and hates women and is extreme!

Wonderful California Legislature Passes Bill To Jerry Brown To Prevent Arrests Of Illegals

Weasel Zippers linked to this column in the Sacramento Bee
"The [California] Assembly Friday passed and sent to Gov. Jerry Brown legislation that would prohibit law enforcement officers from detaining undocumented immigrants for federal authorities when they are released from criminal custody, unless they have a history of serious or violent crime.
"He and other Democrats said it’s aimed at preventing otherwise non-threatening immigrants to go about with their lives without fear of deportation, while Republicans argued that the effect would be to give criminally inclined illegal immigrants a sanctuary.  (AB 1081 roll of votes)
"The 44-23 vote to send the measure to Brown was strictly along party lines, although some members of both parties declined to vote."

Gut-and-amend bill seeks 'safe harbor' for illegal immigrants
"Fuentes received the final word only a few weeks ago that the safe harbor program could be created through legislation, without a statewide vote, which prompted the gut-and-amend of SB 901 so late in the legislative year, Golombek said."

Hey, Biden Had Girlfriends Too!

BernardGoldberg.com
Background; Does Paul Ryan's Black Ex-Girlfriend Matter?
"As reported on Twitter by CNN's Pete Hamby, Ryan said he has a black sister-in-law, but perhaps even more interesting, his "college sweetheart" was African American."  Democrats are frantically thinking up talking points to neutralize this.

Paul Ryan and his black girlfriend: What’s the fuss?   Crystal Wright is an occasional contributor to The Root DC and is the editor of the political site “Conservative Black Chick.”

..."But apparently, interracial dating is a story only when a white
Ryan holds a rally at a hardware store in Roanoke, Va., on Aug. 22. (Steve Helber - AP)
Republican does it. President Obama dated white women in college and law school and that never became a significant story during the 2008 campaign.
"In fact, discussion by the mainstream media of the president’s interracial relationships often implied that he was more tolerant, complicated and interesting  I’m curious why Ryan isn’t afforded the same kind of perspective."
Anyway, here is the aforementioned article from Bernie Goldberg.com:

"The Chicago Democratic organization has quietly promised President Obama that it will try to offset the black-girlfriend effect by paying black voters to vote four times during the election, up from the customary three. But this is seen strictly as a symbolic gesture, because Obama seems certain to win the state of Illinois by a wide margin, no matter what.
"The more effective tactic, the strategists agree, is to retroactively link the Democratic candidates to every known ethnic, racial and religious group in the United States. ....

“They were all fantastic babes,” Biden is said to have remarked. “I dearly love every one of those groups — I mean women.”
"The Biden operative said the vice president is prepared to state that he dated gay men too if there is any indication that this group might stray from its traditional allegiance to the Democratic party."

Logan's Warning to America about creeping Sharia (Islamic law)

About Logan's Warning"The primary mission of this website is to educate non-Muslims on the ideology and practice of Islam and to Islam's threats to our free and open society. The goal is to assist in developing legislation to defeat the dangerous Sharia movement underway here in America. Violence is not the answer, nor is it acceptable."

Muslim in America to Logan’s Warning: We WILL OVERTHROW the US Government!
A Muslim is being deceptive to non-Muslims about Islam by only telling them only part of the story, or by flat out lying. (Their religion instructs them lie.) Then I expose their deception and lies. After that their response is to usually pull a Houdini and disappear from the conversation. But the conversation I had on YouTube with Jihadifanclub (who I had written about back in 2011) took a different turn. This traitor to America came right out and stated, “We as Muslims will overthrow it”.

Muslim in America to Logan’s Warning: Convert, Accept Islamic Rule, or Else….
First we will invite you to Islam or you let Islam rule without any oppression. Then the last alternative is to fight your army. Like I said before bringing family values to a society is not oppression.
Turning the Tables on MPAC and Muslim Attorney Wajahat Ali….
"Last week the insidious Islamic organization, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MAPC), once again used the freedoms of America against America, and held a teleconference on “Islamophobobia”. Muslims use the term “Islamophobia” as an attack tactic in an attempt to bully and silence those who criticize Islam. What MPAC and other insidious Islamic organizations like CAIR do not tell you is that the term was born in Iran back in 1979 following the Islamic Revolution."

Turning the Tables on MPAC and Muslim Attorney Wajahat Ali….Part II
"In the closing of the article I asked where Ali’s true loyalty lies, with America or the Koran? Between his attempts at intimidation, non-responses to me, and the following video, I’m going with the Koran. Maybe Ali would like to come here and prove me wrong?"
All emphases in the original.
When Islamists speak, remember that lying is permissible and even recommended

After 9-11, I was invited by a Muslim co-worker to attend an informational talk on Islam hosted by the local Islamic Center. I brought up the subject of Israel's right to exist in their  present location and the Imam answered yes;  when I quizzed him further, he reemphasized  his answer.
Only later did I learn the teaching of Taqiyya and realize that I had been finessed. TD

The film "2016 -- Obama's America"

Neal Boortz on the film, "2016 -- Obama's America"  "Now I tried to watch this movie with somewhat a different eye than most of the people in that theater.  As hard as it is to do … I tried to watch it as an Obama supporter.  I was looking for something that was clearly untrue or for logical lapses relating to Obama’s positions.  (Yeah, like a liberal would recognize a logical lapse.)  Not once did I think to myself “Oh now come on, Dinesh.  That’s a little much.”
"There were a few things in the movie that I had not realized … a few surprises for me."

Reflections on the Obama presidency

The Obama Identity  "That the Obama identity issue persists is in itself damning evidence that the projected identity is not the real identity. And one would vote for that because...why?"
Ed Lasky: Obama's Work Ethic Criticized Again "He shows energy only when he campaigns -- and it is a negative energy, driven more by rage (we hear of his contempt for Mitt Romney) than, let's say, hope.  He likes to shoot hoops with NBA stars, hang out with celebrities, play golf, take vacations, give speeches before adoring crowds, and collect cash from campaign contributors, but he does not like the humdrum responsibilities that come from being president.
"When things do not work out when his policies roll out, he blames others -- whether inanimate or animate (ATMs, tsunamis, Europe, Republicans, "lazy" and soft" Americans -- he blames us).    ( Emphasis added)
"If he were an employee, Obama would have been fired long ago."
