Veterans Affairs has 346 workers who do only union work

Washington Examiner

Texas Rep. Jody Arrington has introduced legislation to require VA to track the use of official time. (Flickr)

"An estimated 346 employees in the Department of Veterans Affairs do no actual work for taxpayers. Instead, they spend all of their time doing work on behalf of their union while drawing a federal salary, a practice known as "official time."
"That's according to a report by the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office. But exactly what those VA workers are doing and why so many are doing it is not clear. The VA doesn't track that, and the GAO report offers no clue." . . .

Net Neutrality's Days Are Numbered, And That's A Good Thing

Investor's Business Daily

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai has
vowed to roll back Obama administration regulations of the internet.
"Regulations: One of the least appreciated decisions by President Trump has been his appointing Ajit Pai to run the Federal Communications Commission. Pai has long been a skeptic of the FCC's manhandling of industry, and is pushing to get the government out of the internet.
The FCC imposed "net neutrality" rules on the internet in February 2015. The argument made by consumer groups and some industry players was that — without federal intervention — internet service providers would treat traffic differently, charging more for those who seek to get in the fast lane.
Net neutrality would, advocates said, keep the internet "free and open."
But to preserve a "free and open" internet, the FCC had to grant itself sweeping new regulatory powers over it.
Under pressure from President Obama, the commission reclassified the internet as something akin to the old telephone monopoly, which, under a 1934 law, gave the FCC virtually unlimited powers to regulate internet rates, impose fees and require businesses to get approval for a wide range of business decisions.

ACLU Sues Catholic Hospital For Refusing to Perform Transition Surgery on Transgender Patient

The Gateway Pundit  “Transition surgery” or ‘sex reassignment surgery’ should be seen as an elective surgery and hospitals shouldn’t be forced to perform them. These surgeries do not make a man a woman, or a woman a man. It is the height of make-believe." . . .

Because this transgender is unwilling to find a new hospital, she/he is going to make lives for others difficult. Dignity Health’s Mercy San Juan Medical Center, which is a private Catholic hospital in Sacramento, California, is in the middle of litigation with the ACLU after the hospital decided not to play along with a mentally ill individual’s request to become a man via sex change surgery.
"The suit claims that Evan Michael Minton, a woman who thinks she is a man, wants her vagina removed. Minton claims that she was denied the sex change because the hospital was “discriminatory” to her lifestyle.
"Of course, this angle is an easy way to get some attention and ruin other people’s lives because of unhappiness in their own."  More here.

Obama spokesman defends reported $400,000 Wall Street-backed speech

Fox News  . . . “ 'Is there an irony here because he spoke incessantly about the income gap and is now earning from those same people he criticized? Yes it is,” said Hank Sheinkopf, a Democratic political consultant. “Should we expect it? Yes, we should because all former presidents do this. He went on the attack against Wall Street and now he’s being fed by those same people he called ‘fat cats’. It’s more hypocritical than ironic.”
"Schultz went on to say that Obama will continue to give the occasional speech, but he will devote much of his time to writing his book and “focusing his post-presidency work on training and elevating a new generation of political leaders in America.”. . .

Ann Coulter cancels her speech at UC Berkeley  "April 26 (Reuters) - Conservative commentator Ann Coulter has canceled her speech planned for this week at the University of California's Berkeley campus after a dispute with university officials, who feared violent protests, over whether a safe venue could be found.
" 'There will be no speech," she wrote in an email to Reuters on Wednesday, saying two conservative groups sponsoring her speech were no longer supporting her. "I looked over my shoulder and my allies had joined the other team," she wrote. (Reporting by Mark Hosenball in Washington and Jonathan Allen in New York)"

Daily Caller  New Biography: Young Obama ‘Considered Gayness’  . . . “ 'Three years later, Obama wrote somewhat elusively to his first intimate girlfriend that he had thought about and considered gayness, but ultimately had decided that a same-sex relationship would be less challenging and demanding than developing one with the opposite sex,” Garrow wrote. “But there is no doubting that Goldyn gave eighteen-year-old Barry a vastly more positive and uplifting image of gay identity and self-confidence than he had known in Honolulu.' ” . . .

Citing state laws that make it illegal to practice engineering without a license, the board told Järlström that even calling himself an “electronics engineer” and the use of the phrase “I am an engineer” in his letter were enough to “create violations" . . .

Berkeley Mayor May Have Ties To Violent AntiFa Group…  “Mayor Arreguin is not representing all of Berkeley right now,” the source who wished to remain anonymous told Fox News, “he’s coming from a deep leftist position. San Francisco Federal Judge, Obama Bundler, Blocks Trump Sanctuary City Defunding Order

Judge Orrick is a campaign bundler to former President Obama for over $200,000, and is married to a pro-abortion activist.  You might remember Judge Orrick from 2015 when he blocked the release of videos made by the Center for Medical Progress, the group that unveiled Planned Parenthood’s participation in the sale of organs harvested from aborted children.   AP News

Rick Moran: Federal judge issues ruling against Trump executive order on sanctuary cities
If ICE cannot get states and cities to enforce federal immigration law, they are going to have to do it themselves.  That means hiring thousands more agents in addition to the 10,000 already in the pipeline.  If states and cities are not going to cooperate with ICE – going so far as to refuse to inform the feds when an illegal alien is in custody for committing an additional crime – then federal immigration enforcement officers are going to have to use their own resources to arrest and deport illegals.

WCBM  "San Francisco based Federal Judge, William Orrick, issued a preliminary injunction today blocking any attempt by the Trump administration to withhold funding from “sanctuary cities” that do not cooperate with U.S. immigration officials.
"Judge Orrick said president Trump has no authority to attach new conditions to federal spending.
(Via AP) […] U.S. District Judge William Orrick issued the preliminary injunction in two lawsuits — one brought by the city of San Francisco, the other by Santa Clara County — against an executive order targeting communities that protect immigrants from deportation. The injunction will stay in place while the lawsuits work their way through court. (read more)

A Federal Judge Issues a Mostly Meaningless Ruling Against a Mostly Meaningless Executive Order  "The bottom line? Trump isn’t blocked from enforcing existing law. He’s only blocked from engaging in illegal acts that the DOJ promised the court that it wasn’t considering. In other words, move along. There’s not much to see here."

It’s true, that’s why they’re bringing these challenges in the 9th Circuit, because they know they can expect a more favorable judgment.
Courts in the Bay Area will be the channel for this law.

Obama's $400,000 Wall Street speaking fee will undermine everything he believes in

The way a leftist publication such as VOX views Obama doing what Hillary and Bill do:  . . . "Obama would be suggesting that for an economically comfortable high-ranking former government official to be out there doing paid speaking gigs would be corrupt, sleazy, or both. He'd be looking down his nose at the other corrupt, sleazy former high-ranking government officials and making enemies.
Which is exactly why he should have turned down the gig."

Liberals Slam Obama for Taking $400K From Wall Street  "Some notable liberals are not happy with former President Barack Obama's decision to give a speech at a Wall Street conference.
"Obama will be paid $400,000 to give a speech at Cantor Fitzgerald's healthcare conference this September, according to Fox Business. Some of Obama's supporters are upset with the former president who often railed against income inequality and the business practices of Wall Street.
"The Washington Post gave four reasons why Obama's $400,000 speech is a bad idea. One of the reasons the article cites is that in President Obama's 2006 book The Audacity of Hope he called arrangements like this a corrupting influence.
"Some liberals expressed their frustration and anger with Obama's decision on Twitter." . . .

When will Obama have made enough money?  It could be reparations that he is supposed to share with the victims of this miserable, oppressive nation.

China warns North Korea will 'cross the point of no return' if it carries out a sixth nuclear test as secretive country stages its 'largest ever firing drill'

UK Daily Mail

Kim Jong-Un (pictured earlier this month) is believed to have personally overseen the country's largest ever firing drill in the port city of Wonsan today

"China has warned North Korea will 'cross the point of no return' if it carries out a sixth nuclear test amid fears the secretive state can create a nuke every six weeks.

"Kim Jong-Un is believed to have personally overseen the country's largest ever firing drill in the port city of Wonsan today.

"But fears he was due to conduct another nuclear test or another missile launch to mark 85 years since the founding of its army proved unfounded.

"It comes as the state-controlled Chinese Global Times newspaper wrote that North Korea risks serious consequences if it carries out further trials." . . .

New sheriff won't allow Norks to rain fire

New Sheriff in Town - A.F. Branco political cartoon

Russ Vaughn    "With Donald Trump's decision to call Kim Jong-un's bluff by sending the USSCarl Vinson task force steaming in the direction of the Hermit Kingdom, there have been multiple articles out there repeating the possible dire consequences of actually engaging the belligerent little bully militarily.  The obscure North Korean functionary and propagandist who years ago first threatened to turn his country's southern sister state into a "Sea of Fire" in response to some minor provocation may have seemed a bit of a ham-handed saber-rattler at the time, but he most assuredly created a lasting and wearisome media cliché that surfaces in Western publications every time there's a new dustup with North Korea.

"Moreover, almost every article referencing this "Sea of Fire" explains that term to readers by pointing out that Seoul, South Korea's largest city, lies so close to the border between the two nations that it will likely be destroyed in the opening artillery salvos from the North should the balloon go up.  This, they point out, is almost certainly due to the fact that North Korea has positioned countless thousands of artillery pieces and rocket launchers along its side of the demilitarized zone for just that purpose.  They usually quote some military expertthat any American attack on North Korea unavoidably will sign Seoul's doom.

Juanita Broaddrick Responds to Chelsea Clinton’s Twitter Trump Attack

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

It’s worth pointing out that as a brave social media defender of sexual and/or domestic violence (provided, of course, there’s some sort of tenuous link to the man who beat her mother at the ballot box in November), Chelsea Clinton seems strangely silent when it comes to getting justice for Juanita Broaddrick. Or Kathleen Willey. Or Paula Jones. Or any of the women who have not only said but continued to maintain that they were the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of her father.
By.....
Wilmot Proviso?  "A friendly note to Chelsea Clinton: When referring to something as “horrifying,” “sick” or “awful,” it helps if you have a father who isn’t an accused rapist.
"The former first daughter found that out the hard way on Twitter when she tried to register her disgust at the possible deportation of an illegal immigrant and ended up drawing the unwanted attention of Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who has long maintained Chelsea’s father raped her when he was attorney general of Arkansas.
"Chelsea was responding to a story in the El Paso Times detailing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention of an illegal immigrant who had been detained after seeking a protective order in a domestic abuse case. In her tweet, Clnton tried unsubtly to refer to the Trump administration." . . .
"Here was Chelsea’s tweet from last Wednesday:
I need a thesaurus. What's another word for horrifying? Sick? Awful? Running out of adjectives these days that mean unconscionably terrible https://twitter.com/jesselehrich/status/832045623021015040
Unmentioned in Chelsea’s remark was that the transgender “woman” in question, who had already been deported seven times before this, had a history of committing domestic violence, among a panoply of other offenses — illegal re-entry, larceny, assault, false imprisonment (no less than three times) and probation violations were among the laundry list of crimes listed by KVIA-TV.
Well, since you asked, Here's my definition of horrifying, sick & awful. Answer: Your father, Bill Clinton
