Fans boo U.S. national anthem at Estadio Azteca

Many American fans at Estadio Azteca are watching the game from 'the cage'   "Mexico City's Estadio Azteca is known as an intimidating place for visiting teams. In past games, American players have been pelted with bags of urine lobbed at the field.
"But it can be an intimidating place for visiting fans as well. Fights are common.
"To cut down on violence between spectators, fans of visiting teams are kept in what is known as "the cage." This is a section of bleachers up in the nosebleeds that is fenced in with razor wire and guarded by about 200 police officers dressed in riot gear.
" 'The cage" is where most of the American fans sat Sunday night —  a small speck of red, white and blue in a sea of green and red.
"Even before kickoff, they traded insults with the Mexican fans on the other side of the fence.
"The Mexicans booed loudly when the American national anthem played, and the Americans gloated when their team scored a quick goal just a few minutes into the game.
"But the Mexicans had their turn. Their team scored soon after, and the whole stadium rose up with an ecstatic roar, many people throwing full cups of beer into the air to celebrate. Many in the crowd turned toward "the cage," hurling slurs and raising middle fingers at the Americans. " . . .

USA Today

06-11-17-WORLD-CUP

"Mexican soccer fans loudly booed the United States national anthem when it was played moments before the start of Sunday night's World Cup qualifier between the two countries.

"Thousands of supporters at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City whistled and jeered as the Star-Spangled Banner played over the stadium sound system, with most of the crowd refusing to stand.

"The match was a critical one for the USA, which had endured a shaky start to the final round of World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region.

"Contrary to before the last time the teams met, in Columbus, Ohio, in November, the squads lined up separately for ceremonial photos. In Columbus, they bucked tradition by posing for a pregame "unity" photo.

This One Tweet May Lead to Donald Trump’s Impeachment

Live by the tweet; die by the tweet.

National Review
"Hell hath no fury like an FBI director scorned. "
"Twitter helped make Donald Trump president. It may also lead to his impeachment.

"The president values Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as ways to bypass a hostile media and express his thoughts directly and authentically. But there is a difference between tweeting as a candidate for president and tweeting as the president. And there have been plenty of times since January when his Twitter habit has diverted President Trump from his message and agenda.

"It now looks like the most consequential Tweet of his presidency to date came a few days after he fired James Comey as FBI director. At 8:26 a.m. on Friday, May 12, Trump wrote: “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”

"That tweet, Comey told the Senate, prompted the now-private citizen to instruct a friend, Columbia Law professor Daniel Richman, to share with the New York Times the contents of contemporaneous memos he had written describing his interactions with the president. The article, published a week to the day after Comey was fired, revealed that the president had asked the FBI director to end the criminal investigation into former national-security adviser Michael Flynn." . . .

Comey Testimony Hysterics Perfectly Summed Up in 5 Hilarious Cartoons

"After nearly three hours of testimony, this is what the committee found out:
  • President Trump did not ask Comey to drop the FBI Investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election, nor did any member of his administration. However, Comey claims Trump did ask him to drop (or rather Trump said he “hoped” he would drop) the investigation into now former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
  • The New York Times February report that alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian official was mostly false.
  • Comey kept detailed notes of all his meetings with Trump because he was “concerned he might lie” about them afterwards.
  • Comey leaked his own memos to the press (well, technically, he asked his friend, Columbia Law Professor Daniel Richman to do it).
  • Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch demanded Comey call the probe into then Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton a "matter" instead of a criminal investigation…and he didn’t push back.

Comey Unmasked

Clarice Feldman   "If your head is swimming with the accounts of “Russian Collusion” with the Trump campaign, a cock and bull story confected by Hillary Clinton to explain her loss and to undermine the President, allow me to simplify it now that James Comey has testified and revealed with a load of bunk it is.

"First of all, don’t forget that as the head of the FBI, James Comey had the power to request the appointment of a Special Counsel anytime he felt it was warranted. In fact, despite countless leaks to the press that there was evidence of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and Russia, he had informed the relevant Congressional leaders that the FBI had no such evidence after months of investigation, a concession which, unsurprisingly enough, was never, leaked.  The four Democrat leaders of the Gang of 8, which oversees the operation and knew this themselves, kept promulgating the lie that there was some such evidence.
"After he was fired, in an act of venomous revenge -- not atypical of the Swamp – Comey had a friend, a Columbia Law School professor, leak his version of a conversation with the president.  In this version, Trump was trying to hide the collusion by cutting off an investigation." . . .

Video: More Footage Leaks Of CNN’s ‘Staged’ Muslim Anti-Terror Protest

Weasel Zippers  "We previously reported that the Muslim anti-terror protest appeared to at least have been staged to put people into place by CNN to get video on them. CNN claimed that they had just had helped protesters past barrier to be filmed that they didn’t set up or direct anything. Now this makes it very appear it was much more involved, contrary to what CNN claimed, including handing out flowers and signs."

Early this week, CNN was accused of staging a Muslim-led anti-terror protest after the London terror attacks. Now, more footage has dropped that shows what happened on the scene before the CNN shot was taken.
A Youtube video taken by Claire Jordan shows her milling around the scene and “protest” prior to CNN lining up the protesters for their on-air shot. (VIDEO: CNN Responds To Claims They Staged A Muslim Anti-Terror Protest)
There is a group of people in the area, both Muslim and non-Muslim, and some of them can be seen handing out bouquets of flowers and posters.

ACT for America Stages Marches Against ‘Sharia Law’ Nationwide

NBC News   "ACT for America, which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as an antiMuslim hate group, is spearheading several rallies across the country Saturday in what is slated to be the group’s largest protest against Islam.

"The "March Against Sharia" will take place in more than 20 cities, including New York, Dallas, and Atlanta.

"In New York City, about 100 protesters and more than 200 counterprotesters verbally clashed in downtown Manhattan Saturday morning, as police officers stood between the groups.

"The rally began with ACT for America supporters denouncing Sharia law and claiming that America was moving in the wrong direction.

"While they were were speaking, counterprotesters were trying to drown them out using bullhorns and noise makers. Some antiSharia demonstrators yelled, "Commie scum!," while counterprotesters shouted, "Nazis!," according to NBC New York.

"The nationwide “March Against Sharia” first gained widespread attention when the mayor of Portland, Oregon, moved to stop the local chapter from rallying. Ted Wheeler's decision came after two men were fatally stabbed as they tried to protect two women — one of whom was wearing a headscarf — from an antiMuslim tirade. " . . .

Young voters to Hillary: stop blaming others for loss

Campus Reform  "Young voters want Hillary Clinton to “move on” from her recent repudiation, saying she should “stop blaming other people, and take responsibility.”

"Until recently, Clinton had largely avoided offering public explanations for her epic defeat, but that all changed last week when she opened up in a series of revealing interviews on the reasons for her loss.
"Was it because of her failure to spend time in crucial states like Wisconsin and Michigan?
"Maybe it was because of voters’ near-universal distrust of her?
"Perhaps the loss was a result of her scandal ridden tenure as Secretary of State?
"Nope.
"From listening to her speak, one might believe Miss Clinton is just about the only thing not to blame for her defeat.
"In interview after interview, the former Senator from New York has listed off a litany of reasons for her failure, ranging from weak data at the DNC, to unfavorable documentaries airing on Netflix, to malicious Russian intervention.
"Each time the topic of defeat was brought up, one person was noticeably absent from Hillary Clinton’s blame: Hillary Clinton.
"Wanting to know what millennials thought of her inability to accept personal responsibility for her defeat, Campus Reform took to the streets of Washington, D.C. to talk with young voters, and it quickly became clear that they were not happy with Mrs. Clinton’s explanations for her defeat." . . .

CSG (Central Student Government) a Social Justice Cult and Doesn’t Represent All UM Students

"Recently, I put forward a resolution to Central Student Government (CSG), A.R. 6-042, entitled “A Resolution That Commits Robustly Both This Body and the University as a Whole to Free Speech, or, the ‘Dangerous School’ Resolution.” The vote was held on March 28; my resolution was defeated. The recent, deeply disturbing events at Middlebury College initially  prompted me to enter the public arena and defend a principle that I believe is absolutely critical to the purpose of this university, the maintenance of a free society, and the pursuit of Truth: free speech." . . .

Can Hillary Clinton Please Go Quietly into the Night?

Clinton, who has grown increasingly public and vocal in recent weeks, appears ready to drive the bus again. But do we have to be the passengers?
Image result for hillary cartoons

Vanity Fair   "With Donald Trump busy spreading havoc around the world—most recently tweeting about James Comey’s testimony, or feeding into the crisis over Qatar—it’s reasonable to ask who can be bothered to gripe about Hillary Clinton. But I can. One makes the time. Or maybe one doesn’t, but in a two-party system there’s only one alternative to the party of Trump, and the role of Clinton in that party is therefore important.

"Lately, it has been increasing. Hillary has been making high-profile public appearances and started talking frankly about her distaste for Trump and her dismay over the people and things that cost her the election. She has even founded a PAC called Onward Together, a 501(c)(4) that will “advance progressive values.” Whether we like it or not, the Clintons are back in the game. It’s up to the rest of us to figure out if we approve.

"Just about everything we do lends itself to a generous or hostile interpretation. Our friends think we feed the poor because we have genuine compassion, and our enemies think we do so because we want to look good. The benign take on motives isn’t always closest to the truth, but it’s the better bet. (On the occasions that I’ve had an inside view of something in the glare of the press, those with the darkest take on it have usually been wrong.) I’ve been tough on Chelsea Clinton—hard not to be—but Hillary Clinton has a much higher accomplishment-to-self-regard ratio. So why not start generously?" . . .

You can't govern by ID: Charles Krauthammer

"Paris was nothing but hot air. Withdrawing was a perfectly plausible policy choice (the other being remaining but trying to reduce our CO2-cutting commitments). The subsequent attacks on Trump were all the more unhinged because the president's other behavior over the last several weeks provided ample opportunity for shock and dismay."
Political Cartoons by Robert Ariail
Charles Krauthammer    "Having coined Bush Derangement Syndrome more than a decade ago, I feel authorized to weigh in on its most recent offshoot. What distinguishes Trump Derangement Syndrome is not just general hysteria about the subject, but additionally the inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences on the one hand and signs of psychic pathology on the other.
"Take Trump's climate-change decision. The hyperbole that met his withdrawal from the Paris agreement -- a traitorous act of war against the American people, America just resigned as leader of the free world, etc. -- was astonishing, though hardly unusual, this being Trump.
"What the critics don't seem to recognize is that the Paris agreement itself was a huge failure. It contained no uniform commitments and no enforcement provisions. Sure, the whole world signed. But onto what? A voluntary set of vaporous promises. China pledged to "achieve the peaking of CO2 emissions around 2030." Meaning that they rise for another 13 years.
"The rationale, I suppose, is that developing countries like India and China should be given a pass because the West had a two-century head start on industrialization." . . .
"It's good to see our Sunni allies confront Qatar and try to bring it into line. But why make it personal -- other than to feed the presidential id? Gratuitously injecting the U.S. into the crisis taints the endeavor by making it seem an American rather than an Arab initiative and turns our allies into instruments of American designs rather than defenders of their own region from a double agent in their midst.
And this is just four days' worth of tweets, all vainglorious and self-injurious. Where does it end?"

Anti-Trump celebration at D.C. bar comes to screeching halt, pics of the glum scene are priceless!

BizPac Review  Video at the link.  "It was supposed to be a sure thing — everyone was gonna get drunk on Thursday morning. Then morning turned into mourning.

"A downtown Washington, D.C. watering hole turned former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee into a celebration."

"The Union Pub announced yesterday that it would open at 9:30 in to morning and would be “buying a round of drinks for the house every time Trump Tweets about Comey during his testimony,” the bar’s Facebook post for the event read.

“This ‘special’ will run til Comey’s testimony is over, or 4pm, whichever is earlier,” the announcement continued." . . .
