Discussions on this latest murdering head case

Thomas Lifson:  Florida school shooter in custody may offer an opportunity to explore role of medications in school massacres
. . . "Or...maybe we should examine the widespread use of psychotropic stimulant drugs, such as Ritalin, on male pupils in schools, which began to be used on a  wide scale in 1996.  Particularly when the drug use stops, there may be undesirable consequences.
"I am not suggesting that anyone knows with certainty that there is a relationship, but rather that this is a factor that should be studied closely.  Now that a shooter is alive and capable of talking to authorities, his drug use should be examined, as should the use of pharmaceuticals by other shooters."

Nothing has hit me as hard as the Sandy Hook children's massacre after which I wrote this:
Seeking an effective argument FOR gun control (Posted here after the terrible Sandy Hook massacre)
The Tunnel Wall; Tuesday, December 18, 2012 Here, two respected writers discuss the case against taking away individual firearms from Americans. Yes, it is true that if guns did not exist everywhere in this nation those little children in Sandy Hook would be living right now and I only wish that were the case. But it is not and there are violent people out there in their thousands and they are armed; willing and lusting to watch innocent people die in bunches by their hands. How, exactly do you gun-control advocates plan to remove those weapons from their blood-thirsty hands?I will honestly look for a reasoned argument FOR gun control that contains effective means for keeping us safe from those who carry weapons illegally and are willing to do us harm. Cartoons showing crazed, wild-eyed gun owners don't wash.As yet, I have seen only politically correct, emotional responses to the issue that have no value other than simply making a politician look as if they are doing something. TD
NRA influence: Another lying Democrat lie
. . . "You want to talk about influence?  My pick for most at fault is the terrifying and dangerous Democrat indoctrination of our youth, pervasive throughout virtually every industry in America – from media to technology to anti-Second Amendment groups, most notably Everytown for Gun Safety, led by Michael Bloomberg, New York's former mayor.
"If the Democrats and the DMIC who poison our children's minds and lie with impunity don't keep you up at night, what will?" .

It Would Have Been Nice If The FBI Had Interviewed Nikolas Cruz After He Announced His Intentions…  . . . "But we don’t arrest people for criminal thoughts. It takes criminal action to get you off the streets.
"In a better world there would be a way to intervene in the life of a Nikolas Cruz before he ends the lives of others. But this case shows we don’t have a competent enough authority to identify a Nikolas Cruz much less to give him the help he needs. The FBI had him on a silver platter and couldn’t stop him." . . .

Charles Krauthammer in 2017 wrote: "Obama Shows His True Colors as He Leaves Office"

National Review
With no reason to suppress his more radical instincts any longer, the president embraced them on his way out the door.
"Barack Obama did not go out quietly. His unquiet final acts were overshadowed, in part by a successor who refused to come in quietly, and in part by Obama’s own endless, sentimental farewell tour. But there was nothing nostalgic or sentimental about Obama’s last acts. Two of them were simply shocking.

" Perhaps we should have known. At the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, he joked about whether he had a bucket list: “Well, I have something that rhymes with bucket list.”

"Turns out, he wasn’t kidding. Commuting the sentence of Chelsea Manning, one of the great traitors of our time, is finger-in-the-eye willfulness. Obama took 28 years off the sentence of a soldier who stole and then released through WikiLeaks almost half a million military reports plus another quarter-million State Department documents.

"The cables were embarrassing; the military secrets were almost certainly deadly. They jeopardized the lives not just of American soldiers on two active fronts — Iraq and Afghanistan — but of locals who were, at great peril, secretly aiding and abetting us. After Manning’s documents release, the Taliban “went on a killing spree” (according to intelligence sources quoted by Fox News) of those who fit the description of individuals working with the United States.

"Moreover, we will be involved in many shadowy conflicts throughout the world. Locals will have to choose between us and our enemies. Would you choose a side that is so forgiving of a leaker who betrays her country — and you?" . . .

Behind the portrait of Barack Obama

The Daily Caller reported that in 2015, the Village Voice described Wiley's selection of male street models as "predatory" and "perverse."  An art blog, Mr. Sawyer's Opus, described Wiley's themes of gay culture and his habit of filling the backgrounds and frame designs of many of his works with dozens of spermatozoa.
Cindy Simpson  "The selection of the artists painting the Obamas' new portraits commissioned for the Smithsonian revealed much more than two pieces of "art."

"One would surely think that the chosen artists of the former president and first lady of the United States would have been carefully vetted – for quality of work, appropriateness of artistic style for the venue, and reputation in the community.

. . . "That "something extra" is apparently the calling card of the artist.  And, fittingly, the provocative nature of such a selection is also the calling card of Obama.
"Of course, in all the mainstream media gushing about the painting and its painter, a disturbing career history and reputation were left unquestioned.  With just a little research, it's not difficult to discover.
"In a 2012 piece on Wiley in New York Magazine, the very first paragraph described a painting in his studio that "stands out: a tall, elegant black woman in a long blue dress – the canvas is enormous, eight feet by ten feet – calmly staring down the viewer.  In one hand, she holds a knife.  In the other, a cleanly severed brunette female head.  'It's sort of a play on the "kill whitey" thing,' Wiley says.' Apology Because A Food Allergy Scene Triggered Some Peter Rabbit Viewers  . . . "Political correctness is literally making us an insane people. In the new film, Peter Rabbit, the little creatures reportedly fling blueberries at Mr. McGregor, the guy who ate Peter’s dad, because he’s allergic and needs to use an EpiPen. Well, some viewers got very upset with this scene, as they felt it denigrated the serious nature of food allergies. An apology was issued . . ." Naturally.

This Leftist Sent The Single Stupidest Tweet In Human History About 'Black Panther.' It's Incredible.  "On Monday, senior editor and “planetary evangelist” for The Planetary Society Emily Lakdawalla got herself into a Twitter mess over her suggestion that she skip the opening weekend of Black Panther." . . .
So, as a white person she was unworthy of attending that movie!
. . . "First off, it’s difficult to believe that many black people expect white people not to go to the theater, or that they care if they do. Second, why would Leftists stand for re-segregating theaters, this time out of respect for black people? Third, if Black Panther is such an important statement about race, why shouldn’t white people see it and be challenged and changed? But ideas have now taken a back seat to identity politics." . . .

How anti-Trump fake news begins

Often it begins with a report on an honest question that was asked by President Trump and one we all asked. If Obama had asked this, there would not have been this reaction:

"Is Trump blaming the VICTIMS for Florida shooting? He says 'neighbors and classmates' should have reported Nikolas Cruz when they saw warning signs he was going off the rail"
"Donald Trump on Thursday morning seemed to place some of the blame for Wednesday's deadly rampage at a Florida high school at the feet of the alleged murderer's 'neighbors and classmates,' saying they should have told authorities about clear warning signs. " . . .

How dare the anti-Trump press use this terrible incident to promote their narrative? Did they react this way when Obama played golf after similar violent acts?

Florida high school shooter is booked into jail on 17 counts of murder as it's revealed 'disturbed' student's mental state deteriorated after his adoptive mother died from the flu last year

UK Daily Mail  . . . "Cruz was armed with at least one AR-15 rifle, had 'multiple magazines' and smoke grenades when he stormed the school wearing a gas mask, according to the sheriff.
"Investigators are now looking into whether Cruz may have pulled the fire alarm to draw people into halls so he could get a higher death toll.
"Florida does have the death penalty though it is too early to consider sentencing as charges have not yet been made public against Cruz.
"The first victim of the mass shooting has been identified as 46-year-old athletic director Chris Hixon.
"A number of students have said they thought they heard the fire alarm right before the first shots were fired. The school had already had a fire drill earlier that day, leaving many of the students confused.
"Authorities have already started dissecting his social media accounts and reported that some of things he had been posting was 'very disturbing'." . . .

. . . "Police said the gunman started firing before he entered the school building and left behind a deadly trail.
"Twelve of the people shot dead were found dead inside the school building, two more were killed just outside the school and another in a nearby street. Two other people died later after being rushed to hospital." . . .

. . . "Meanwhile, horrifying video filmed from inside a classroom captured the moment the shooter, who was wearing a gas mask, burst in and began shooting at his fellow students as they screamed in terror.
"The students were spotted sitting or lying on the classroom floor, trying to avoid being hit, as rapid gunfire was heard nearby. One girl's hysterical screams were suddenly cut off during the shocking clip." . . . Full article here

The Ladies Of The View Diss Pence’s Faith In God – This Is Disgusting

"As obnoxious a partisan hack as Joy Behar is, it seems to me that she is no longer the ‘stupid’ one on this panel. That honor now goes to Sunny Hostin who brought the entire subject up.
"That said, Behar isn’t off the hook here.
"She says that hearing from Jesus is a sign of mental illness. She just doesn’t understand what it is that Evangelical Christians actually believe.
"Behar, who was raised Catholic seems to have no real comprehension of faith of any sort. Odd since she’s so often defending Muslims. She says that she didn’t read the Bible but no longer believes in the truths contained there. She doesn’t pray, she doesn’t believe in an afterlife. She got married in a church. She baptized her daughter — just in case. She says that she was ‘brainwashed’. Honey, you have to first have a thing in order for it to be ‘washed’.
"The harpies on The View pushed the same Mike-Pence-is-a-bigot line that is oft-touted in the Media (D).
"Mike Pence has not supported electro-shock therapy for gays, no matter how many memes say that he does.

Florida school shooting suspect was ex-student who was flagged as threat

. . . "Cruz’s Instagram page, identified by friends as his but which has since been removed from the popular site, underscored his love of weapons.
"In the images, he sported dark-colored bandanas over his face, beanies and hats over his hair. In one post, he wielded knives between his fingers as though they were a claw. In another, he showed off a small black handgun.
"One post on his Instagram was for an online ad for a Mossberg Maverick 88 slug shotgun. Another post showed the definition of “Alluh Akbar” – an Arabic praising God that is sometimes used by radical Muslim terrorists before attacks. Federal authorities, however, said Wednesday that they did not believe the shooting was connected to terrorism." . . .

Nikolas Cruz, identified as Florida high school shooting suspect, reportedly showed warning signs  . . . “ 'Honestly, a lot of people were saying it was gonna be him,” the unnamed student told the news station. He said kids joked around that the student would be the one to “shoot up the school.”
“ 'It turns out, everyone predicted it,” the student said, adding the suspect knew the layout of the school." . . .

Sun-Sentinel  "Seventeen people were shot to death and several others wounded Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in a horrific episode of school violence that ended with the arrest of a former student.

"Panicked parents streamed to this affluent section of northwest Broward County, as news helicopters broadcast the incident live and students congregated on streets, many crying, hugging and calling friends and family.

Anatomy of a Coup

Political Cartoons by Tom Stiglich

Ann Coulter  "Every place you look in Robert Mueller's investigation, the same names keep popping up: FBI agent Peter Strzok and sleazy, foreign private eye -- or "British intelligence agent" -- Christopher Steele.

"So it's rather important that they both are Trump-hating fanatics, and one was being paid by Trump's political opponent in a presidential campaign.

"Steele is the author of the preposterous dossier that sparked the special counsel investigation, and Strzok is the FBI agent involved at every crucial turn of both the Trump and Hillary investigations.

"As we found out from the House Intelligence memo, Steele told Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr that he "was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president." (Ohr's wife worked for Fusion GPS, and, like Steele, was being paid by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.)

"In the hands of Trump-obsessive Peter Strzok -- he of the estrogen-dripping texts to his Trump-hating FBI lawyer mistress -- the dossier was used to obtain a warrant under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act against Trump's alleged "foreign policy adviser," Carter Page.

"The FISA warrant against Page constitutes the last crumbling piece of the "Russia collusion" story.

"Strzok was the person who instigated the Russia investigation against Trump back in July 2016. He was the lead agent on the investigation into whether Hillary, as secretary of state, sent classified information on her private email account. (Conclusion: She had -- but it wasn't any of the FBI's business!) He volunteered for the Mueller investigation and remained there, right up until his Trump-hating texts were discovered by the inspector general of the FBI. (He was also, one surmises, the authority for many of the media's lurid, anonymously sourced claims about how the investigation was proceeding.)

"Most strangely, Strzok was the FBI agent who asked Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, about his phone call with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak. " . . .

2006: Twenty-one North Korean cheerleaders imprisoned. Wait till you hear why!

Weasel Zippers: Instead of fawning over the North Koreans, perhaps media should remember this story. Their crime? Talking about what they saw in South Korea.

Taipei Times  "Twenty-one members of North Korean cheering squads who traveled to South Korea for international sports events are being held in a prison camp for talking about what they saw in the South, a news report said yesterday.
"Citing a North Korean man who recently fled to China, South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper said the 21 young women had been detained about last November in the same prison camp where the man had been held.
"South Korea's National Intelligence Service didn't immediately confirm or deny the report.
"In 2002, Pyongyang sent hundreds of female cheerleaders to the Asian Games in South Korea's Busan, where their tightly synchronized routines drew worldwide attention. The North sent similar cheering squads to South Korea in 2003 and last year.
"The defector, whose real name wasn't given, said the female cheering squad apparently violated a pledge not to speak about what they saw in South Korea, the Chosun Ilbo reported.
"Citing another unnamed defector, the newspaper said the cheerleaders had pledged before going to South Korea that they would treat the country as "enemy territory" and never speak about what they saw there, accepting punishment if they broke the promise.
"Pyongyang insists it doesn't abuse human rights, but it has long been accused of holding political prisoners in camps under life-threatening conditions. It is believed to hold between 150,000 and 200,000 political prisoners, the US State Department said."
