March for Life Art Contrasts with Vulgar Signs at Women’s March in 30 Photos

National Review

"This weekend, Americans traveled from across the country to Washington, D.C., to participate in the March for Life and the Women’s March by walking with their poster art. While the pro-life marchers’ art focused on women and unborn life, the posters of Women’s March attendees, including small children, displayed anti-Trump messages along with vulgar imagery and words.
"The Women’s March began Saturday morning at Freedom Plaza. The protest, which features a slew of liberal talking points, began in 2017 in response to the election of the president. While the first march boasted hundreds of thousands in Washington, D.C., the 2019 march appeared much smaller." . . .

. . . "The preceding day, the March for Life had gathered at the National Mall and proceeded down Constitution Avenue to end in front of the Supreme Court. For 46 years the March has challenged Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in America. Each year, the march attracts tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of pro-life citizens. " . . .

Democrats spite: Obama's shutdown and Schumer/Pelosi's shutdown.

McConnell: Senate will vote next week on Trump plan  . . . "The Kentucky Republican’s move to bring the deal up for a vote will put political pressure on Democrats in both chambers, who through their leaders publicly rejected Trump’s proposal Saturday afternoon.
"It would take 60 votes to advance the measure in the Senate, which means Republicans will need the support of seven Democrats to pass the measure, assuming no GOP lawmakers vote against it."  . . .

Trump Makes His Offer: DACA Extension For Wall   "Pelosi already said she would reject it. But then she has the DACA folks on her back and it’s on her."

Trump offers immigration compromise to end partial shutdown; Dems cool to offer
. . . "He said that all his proposals have been supported by Democrats before." . . .
The President promised to fix the problem "one way or the other".

Politico: Democrats reject Trump’s bid to negotiate on immigration for his wall
. . . "But the approach had already been rejected by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who said it largely repackaged a proposal that had failed earlier. Pelosi called the idea a "non-starter," and Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) also panned the proposal as a way to reopen the government, even though Trump's plan cribbed from Durbin's own legislation.

"The move offered little hope for ending the government shutdown, which entered its fifth week Saturday. The Senate was in for fewer than two hours on Saturday, and then split until Tuesday, suggesting little urgency is afoot to reopen the government.

"White House officials on Saturday did not dismiss the prospect of an emergency declaration if the legislation fails." . . .

PJ Media: Democrats Immediately Reject Trump's Offer to End Shutdown

President Trump leaves the podium after speaking about the partial
government shutdown, immigration and border security in the
Diplomatic Reception Room  of the White House, Saturday, Jan. 19
. . . "Both sides have gone so far out on their respective limbs that climbing down is not an option politically. Trump believes he can afford to wait out Democrats because the shutdown is playing well with his base (although less so than a few weeks ago). Pelosi and Schumer believe they hold the whip hand with the voters who are blaming Trump for the mess.
"After nearly a month, it's clear that the government is not going to fall apart if the shutdown continues. This gives both sides zero incentive to end it. There is some worry that the impasse is impacting the economy and if that happens, Trump may see the diminishing returns as a signal to get what he can and fold.
"It's pretty clear that the shutdown won't end anytime soon."

Manufacturing man puts Gillette’s ‘toxic masculinity’ to shame with a powerful viral video of his own

BPR  "Egard Watches, a 7-year-old manufacturing company, and distributor of intricately designed “timepieces,” published a formal “response” to Gillette’s controversial “toxic masculinity” ad.
"Published on YouTube Tuesday, two days after Gillette published an advertisement that appeared to smear all men as predatory bullies suffering from so-called “toxic masculinity,” Egard Watches’ ad instead celebrates the many sacrifices men make daily in their lives on behalf of others.
“What is a man? Is a man brave? Is a man a hero? Is a man a protector? Is a man vulnerable? Is a man disposable? Is a man broken? Is a man trying? We see the good in men,” a narrator says as shocking
“ 'What is a statistics about the reality of manhood appear across the bottom of the screen.

ARIEL DUMAS 'Late Show' Writer: 'I'm Just GLAD We RUINED Brett Kavanaugh's LIFE'     "These are the kinds of women we protect from Violent Sexual Abuse Offenders. The Vitriol and Hatred that Defines their Character has made our Culture and Society a Dysfunctional, Self Serving Utopia for Those with Mental Illness and Hatred for those who guarantee their Freedoms, Liberties and Safety. How Dare She Use her Privileged Platform to speak for Women. It's what happens when our Youth embrace Societies Lowest Common Denominators! This is a Horrible Human Being!"

"In a social media post on Saturday, a writer for CBS's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" seemingly celebrated the damage done to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's reputation during his bruising and bitterly partisan confirmation battle.
"Whatever happens, I'm just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh's life," the writer, Ariel Dumas, posted on Twitter. Dumas later briefly made her account private, preventing others from viewing her posts without her approval.

"Her tweet came as the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by a 50-48 vote, with Republicans saying that the several allegations of decades-old sexual misconduct brought against him simply lacked sufficient corroboration and credibility. . . .

Lift Up Your Hearts: The Democrats Are in a Shambles

Conrad Black  "It is time to rekindle our political spirits in this new year, and to take stock of the subjects of encouragement.

"First, the takeover of the House of Representatives by the Democrats was, on balance, not as jarring to the vital organs as was feared. As a figure of horror, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has become almost like Bette Davis, one can believe she just acts the part, though she acts it convincingly. And she has earned her spurs as a Democratic legislator with staying power, the first speaker to serve non-consecutive terms since Sam Rayburn (D-Texas). She certainly didn’t get much back-talk from all those bushy-tailed Democrats who were going to send her off to knit antimacassars for her grandchildren. She does not, however, appear to be an effective spokesperson as leader of the opposition, and is strangely inarticulate for someone who must have spent more time in public speaking for the last 40 years than almost anyone in the country.

"A second source of happiness, despite the Democrats’ window-rattling ululations of joy, is that they have no mandate to do anything, and they have taken the bait the president dangled to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Pelosi at the White House three weeks ago. The Democratic leadership seems to think they can convince the country that the well-being of 800,000 federal employees, which could be ameliorated without capitulating on the spending bill, is more important than dealing with the protracted shambles in immigration, which most Americans acknowledge to be the country’s greatest problem.

All Three Networks Ignore ‘March For Life,’ Cover Pro-Abortion ‘Women’s March’ Instead

March for Life Crowd Size: How Many Attended the 2019 Event? [PHOTOS]

Daily Wire  "On its 46th anniversary, all three major networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS) ignored the March for Life in Washington, D.C., the largest pro-life event in the nation, opting instead to cover the feminist Women's March rally.
"According to LifeNews, despite an estimated 100,000 people being in attendance at the pro-life march along with President Trump's address to the crowd via video, the left-wing machines could not so much as "give a passing mention to the March for Life" during the Friday morning shows.
" 'It seems an anti-Trump march happening tomorrow is more interesting to the networks," reports the outlet. "CBS gave a whole segment to the feminist, anti-Semitic 'Women’s March' scheduled for Saturday but didn’t even give a passing mention to the March for Life. ABC and NBC had plenty of time to give to fluff stories Friday morning, from Meghan Markle’s fashion, to 'nomophobia' which is an addiction to one’s phone."
"The networks never learn it seems, and have continually blackballed the March for Life. In 2017, President Trump left reporter David Muir speechless when he told him directly to his face that the press refuses to cover the march.
“ 'Let me just ask you while we’re standing outside, could you hear the voices from the Women's March here in Washington," Muir asked President Trump during the interview.

CNN's website has nothing we could find as of Saturday on the March For Life. The closest CNN came was this post on "inclusion".

Letters: Media ignores March for Life, lavishes coverage on Women's March  . . . "Once again, there was a lengthy article covering the Women's March in Sunday's Free Press, complete with several large photos, including all the information regarding times and locations. There is always an obvious positive reference to abortion rights, euphemistically known as women's reproductive rights, one of the main reasons often stated for the march." . . .

Gillette: "Get Woke, Go Broke"

Ghenghis Gary
Gillette's likeliness-to-buy among consumers drops 4 points after 'toxic masculinity' ad  "Gillette and its politically correct enablers have been trying to spin that godawful ad the company ran, hectoring its own customers about 'toxic masculinity,' as a success, but buried in the details, there's one little problem:
"Likeliness to buy has dropped in the wake of the fiasco. That means 'buying' which is the whole purpose of advertising. According to a post-ad survey by Morning Consult, a left-leaning consulting group that says it's 'trusted' by Politico and the New York Times:
In the two weeks before the campaign launch, 69 percent of Americans said they would consider purchasing products from Gillette. In the two days following the ad, that moved to 65 percent.
"Morning Consult dismisses this number as insignificant in the context of the positive polling responses it says customers gave, but four points seems like a lot in just two days in the wake of such a controversy. When you hear about a tsunami or a wildfire leaving four dead in the first hour of its occurence, you know that's a figure that's going to go up. What it sounds like from this side is people lying to pollsters, saying they are all in for social justice to seem like good people - and then voting with their feet." . . .

Kurt Schlichter:  We Need To Retoxify Masculinity  "Let’s be clear: My pronouns are “he,” “his,” and “stop being creepy weirdos.”
"Okay, maybe the last one isn’t a pronoun, but then again, I’m a man and if I want an insulting string of words directed at the nattering nabobs of gender neutrality to be a pronoun, it is a pronoun. And if you don’t like it, fight me.
"We need more masculinity, and the more toxic the social justice warriors think it is, the better.
"Bizarrely, now shaving companies are allying with the SJWs in an Axis of Irritants. Gillette is channeling campus gender studies dorks to try to sell you razors. They all think you should soften up, get in touch with your feelings, and submit." . . .

It is now evil to practice belief in Christ if that involves sharing your beliefs.

CNN’s Cuomo Draws A Parallel Between Rep. King’s ‘White Supremacist’ Remarks And Karen Pence Teaching At A Private Christian School
. . . "Immanuel Christian School, the Springfield, Virginia institution at which Karen Pence is teaching, allegedly has its employees sign a statement of faith, and place their initials next to a series of "articles of employment."
"The statement of faith contains, more or less, boilerplate theological teachings based on a Christian interpretation of the Bible, such as: the scriptures are the "authoritative written revelation to mankind"; the "death of Christ is full payment for our sins"; and that Christians "will enter a new heaven and new earth prepared for them to enjoy perfect, everlasting fellowship with God" after Christ returns.
One of the articles of employment states:
I will strive to live a personal life of moral purity that is separated from the world according to Scriptures, as defined by the Statement of Faith of Immanuel Bible Church and agreed upon by the Elders and Pastors of Immanuel Bible Church. I understand that the term "marriage" has only one meaning; the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive covenant union as delineated in Scripture and that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other and that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity is engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman.
. . .  "To draw any parallel between Rep. King’s unacceptable remarks and Karen Pence’s job at a Christian school that asks teachers and students to abide by Christian codes of conduct is ludicrous. But because such a line has been drawn, the question must be asked – if Cuomo believes that this particular Christian precept is comparable to white supremacy, and should thus be abandoned, what comes next?. . .

After dismissing grieving angel moms, Schumer leads parade of Dems holding pics of furloughed fed workers

Angel Moms Storm Chuck Schumer’s Office: ‘Get the Wall Done’

"Angel Moms storm Chuck Schumers office"
BizPacReview

JANUARY 16: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., leads the Senate Democrats, carrying large photos of federal workers affected by the government shut down, down the Senate steps a news conference to call on President Trump to re-open the government on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.

. . . "Many Americans, including some of the mothers and fathers of those men and women slain by criminal aliens, found the rally to be equivalent to a stage “performance” because of the false narrative.
"Every government employee affected by the ongoing government shutdown — which as a reminder was triggered because of Schumer’s refusal to back a spending bill that would have funded both the government and a southern U.S. border wall — will eventually be paid.
"President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday that specifically “requires the compensation of government employees for wages lost, work performed, or leave used during a lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018.”
"Moreover, the temporary loss of income is not equivalent to the loss of a loved ones, according to “angel mom” Sabine Durden, a legal immigrant whose son Dominic was killed seven years ago when a drunk criminal alien with two prior DUI convictions slammed into his motorcycle." . . .

Air Pelosi grounded for now

Trump Postpones Pelosi’s Upcoming Trip Abroad Citing Urgency of Shutdown Negotiations   "She found out on the way to the airport".
. . . "Wednesday, Pelosi wrote Trump recommending he delay the State of the Union address until the government re-opens. And now we know that was on the eve of a week-long trip abroad… in case there was any question about the gamesmanship here.
"Cue political posturing from all sides and hyperbolic claims of a pending Armageddon due to Pelosi’s trip being canceled." . . .
Breaking News Live was seething with anger over the President's actions:

Pelosi demands Trump postpone State of the Union address. This was a plea for Trump to "call Pelosi's bluff". I guess he did.

. . . " 'It was just two weeks ago Nancy Pelosi went to the floor and said, 'We're going to be transparent, we're gonna be a town hall, we're gonna allow debate.' She wants to shut down the debate because she knows the president will win this argument," Chaffetz said.
"He said he's proud of Trump for "forcing the issue" and demanding funding for border security, including his long-promised wall." . . .

. . . "Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) gave a biting answer that was dead right: Pelosi doesn’t want Trump to directly address the American people because then they will get a different message than the mainstream media will give them." . . .

Don Surber: Trump to Nancy: You're grounded . . . "She tried to stop him from meeting a constitutional obligation.
" He stopped a "public relations event."
" Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill tweeted, "The purpose of the trip was to express appreciation and thanks to our men and women in uniform for their service and dedication, and to obtain critical national security and intelligence briefings from those on the front lines."
" In other words, a public relations event.
" The Washington Post wrote, "Trump didn’t explain what authority he has to cancel Pelosi’s trip, but it would likely require the use of military aircraft controlled by his administration. He said Pelosi could fly commercial if she wanted to go forward with the visit."
" Article II, Section 2, says, "1: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States..."
"What part of commander-in-chief do they not understand?" . . .

Chris Matthews: Trump’s Letter to Pelosi Made Democrats ‘Look Like Fools’ . . . "The segment concluded with Matthews and his guest debating over border security, with the host shockingly defending the need to secure the border, one way or another." . . .

Trump’s Reelection Chances May Be Better Than You Think. But Hillary's? "(H-Rod", as she is called here)

Victor Davis Hanson

What Is Hillary Clinton Thinking?
"She actually believes she still has a shot at the White House."

“They don’t know the real me.” Homer Simpson
"When Homer Simpson looks in the mirror, he sees ripped chest muscles and arms like the trunks of beech trees. When Hillary Clinton looks in the mirror, she sees America’s sweetheart. She thinks: America adores me. She thinks: America already chose me to be president once! She thinks: Everyone is comparing me with Donald Trump and realizing I’m a better choice. She is hoping for a call that will never come: an earnest, sobbing plea from the Democratic party to be their standard bearer in 2020.

"How else to explain Clinton’s latest media blitzkrieg? You’d think she’d be in Jimmy Carter mode: quiet, making a display of humility, working hard to rebuild her reputation for posterity by doing good deeds and writing non-political books (like Carter’s disarming series of memoirs). Instead, she is acting like a fired-up political candidate. The poor dear actually thinks she’s still in the game. The woman who, on Election Night 2016, slunk away in ignominy from thousands of supporters in the glass-ceilinged Javits Center without even saying thanks to the many who would have lain down in front of a bus for her, these days is once again singing her fight song. But it’s a pathetic 4 a.m. karaoke act and no one can bear to tell this frail elderly lady to stop screeching so they can mop the floors and turn out the lights. Because she has the personality of a cactus and hates everyone, H-Rod never should have entered politics to begin with, but her inability to leave it behind is an embarrassment. Not to me, mind you. Not to Republicans. We all hope she keeps talking. For us every HRC tweet and MSNBC appearance is a dopamine cookie. It is merely herself she is embarrassing." . . .

California’s New Governor Wants to Tax Drinking Water; Where will this taxing madness end?

Leslie Eastman at LI

"California Governor Gavin Newsom certainly has been busy since assuming office Jan 7th.
Within hours of becoming the state’s Chief Executive, the highly progressive former mayor of the disease-ridden city of San Francisco proposed offering free healthcare benefits to illegal immigrants under the age of 26.
"Now, Newsom is proposing to
tax drinking water.
In what is sure to be a controversial move, Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed a tax on drinking water to help poor communities in California deal with contaminated water systems.
The plan to establish a ‘safe and affordable drinking water fund” is part of Newsom’s budget proposal, according the Sacramento Bee. A similar idea was proposed last year, but it never made it through the Legislature, the Bee reported.
Newsom wants to spend $25 million for safe drinking water as part of the cleanup effort. The exact details of the tax to raise the funds were not known.
"As a California resident, basic public health services like safe drinking water should already be taken care of by a combination of water fees and state taxes. My small family pays over $100 monthly for our water use, and California state taxes are the highest in the nation. Where exactly is this money going if it is not going to pay for necessities such as drinking water?
"State bureaucrats have been notoriously neglectful of our water infrastructure. Legal Insurrection readers may recall that it was 2 years ago that an emergency was declared when the Oroville Dam looked like it might fail. Work continues of the spillway today.
"Perhaps instead of taxing citizens more, Newsom can take some of the $144 billion budget surplus he says we have and redirect it to getting drinking water to under-served communities by enhancing our water processing and storage facilities?" . . .

You take it from here, Gavin:
