How duplicitous or clueless are those who feed us current events daily?

Clueless CBS Pushes Constitutionally Ineligible Ocasio-Cortez as Bernie’s VP
"How excited are CBS journalists about the combination of socialist Bernie Sanders and socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? So thrilled that they didn’t bother to check the Constitution. Or even Wikipedia. CBS This Morning journalist Nikole Killion on Monday conducted a joint interview with the two far-left politicians.
"She asked Sanders, who just secured Ocasio-Cortez's endorsement, “If you are the nominee, Senator, would you consider the Congresswoman as your running mate?” The 2020 Democrat looked confused and even Ocasio-Cortez noted, “I think I’m too young for that.” . . .
Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution says:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. . . .
. . . "Proving that everything is about race and gender, she demanded to know: “As a woman of color, why back an old, white guy? And is this the future of the party?' ”

Free Beacon Reminds Us of Lefty Double Standard Between Brewer, Pelosi Finger Wags
"The Washington Free Beacon’s Andrew Kugle released Friday morning the site’s latest indispensable SUPERcut. This time, the topic centered around the not surprising but nonetheless horribly biased double standard between when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wagged a finger toward President Donald Trump versus when then-Governor Jan Brewer (R-AZ) did so to Barack Obama in January 2012.
“ 'Waving your finger at the president of the United States is disrespectful only if the president is a Democrat, according to members of the media,” Kugle began, stating the obvious fact."  . . .
"In the video, Pelosi soundbites included Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski calling it an “iconic photo” of Pelosi standing “among a room full of men” while CNN’s Dana Dash swooned that everyone “look at that photo of one woman standing up” and “giving it to the President of the United States.”
"But when it came to Brewer, there were no proclamations but denunciations ranging from anger to dismay to even cries of racism.

"Kugle’s video noted that it was condemned by Jonathan Capehart as “incredibly disrespectful” and “off-putting,” to the office of the President, by CNN’s Don Lemon as something that you don’t do to people you disagree with, and by both then-MSNBC hosts Tamron Hall and Alex Wagner as an “infamous” display.
"And there was this quote Kugle included from then-CNNer Jack Cafferty: “All that many saw in that famous photograph was a white woman wagging her finger at the first black President.' ” . . .
Out of view at the top in the illustration below is the US media.

Sharyl: "Is there such a thing as an objective press?
Howie Kurtz: "There may not be such a thing as a purely objective press, because everybody brings their own biases. But, I think there is such a thing as a press corps that strives to be fair. I think there are reporters and journalists and even some anchors that do try to be fair, even in this hyper-polarized environment, where whatever you say or do, you get hammered by one side or the other as being pro-Trump or anti-Trump. It happens to me every hour or so. But, I think we’re seeing fewer and fewer organizations committed to the notion of trying to be fair. There is this tone. Sometimes, it’s snarky. Sometimes, it’s disgusted about, what did he do today? How is he undermining democracy? Look, there’s a lot to investigate in this administration. There was a two-year investigation of the Russia matter. Even when Bob Mueller came out and recommended no criminal charges, it seemed like there was a brief pause, and then the press was back at it night after night, day after day, in what Trump supporters would see as pretty hostile coverage.
Sharyl: "You were on the leading edge in a way. You wrote before the Special Counsel Robert Mueller Report came out that the press had overreached too often when reporting on that.
Howie Kurtz: "I don’t think there is any question, even though I never said that this is a witch hunt or the Mueller investigation was somehow illegitimate or a coup. I’ve never bought into any of that language. Of course, there were a number of indictments. But, it seemed to me that every little development, somebody hiring a lawyer, some new peripheral player being interviewed, some subpoena battle on Capitol Hill, got the breaking news banners, crisis treatment, constantly, to the point where I think it exhausted the country. Especially, now, the President is not going to face any criminal charges, I think a lot of people are just tired of it. But, the media are not tired of it, and I think it’s still working for them as a narrative and working for them as a business model. (Continued…)

Mitt Romney: A Spinster of This Parish; Signaling his vote for impeachment.

The American Spectator  "I see the Donald took off on the neo-puritan Mitt Romney for criticizing the Ukraine phone call. Mitt called the call “brazen.” Showing his ignorance of history, he also called it “unprecedented.” Anyone who believes American presidents have never sought political help from foreign leaders would have no trouble swallowing the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. In return, The Donald, the hardest-hitting counterpuncher ever to occupy 1600, called Romney “a pompous ass” and “a fool.”

"Well, I guess truth is no longer a defense. At least in progressive circles. The mainstream media, wholly owned subsidiaries of the Democratic National Committee, took to their fainting couches. The Washington Post, famously silent about the f-bombs dropped by various left picadors, called Donald’s remarks “crude.” A little like being called ugly by a frog, eh?

"It would not be surprising that if Donald is impeached, which seems increasingly likely, that Romney would be the only Republican senator to vote to convict. I’ve no idea how this might go over at home. My hope is that the Rev. Romney is too fastidious even for Utah, and that Mittens will be a one-term senator. Should I have occasion to mention Mitt in a future column, I think I’ll describe him as “a spinster of this parish.' ”

Hillary's Attacks on Tulsi Gabbard Appear to be Backfiring

Ian Macfarlane
Rick Moran  "Hillary Clinton's bizarre accusation that the Russians are "grooming" Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard for a third party run at the White House appears to be having the exact opposite effect she intended. “She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far,” Clinton said on a recent podcast.
"That comment has led to an outpouring of support for Gabbard and harsh criticism of Clinton. In fact, Gabbard, who is barely registering in polls, is now fundraising off of the comment.
"Hillary Clinton accused Tulsi Gabbard — a combat veteran, soldier and Major in the Army National Guard — of being 'groomed' to be a 'Russian asset,'" reads a fundraising email sent by Gabbard's campaign on Saturday.
"Tulsi fights back and demands Hillary join the race and face her directly," it continues.
Gabbard in the email said Clinton "finally came out from behind the curtain yesterday, accusing me of being a Russian asset" while asking supporters to pitch in $25 to her campaign.
"If this a fight she wants to have, one that has implications for all of us and the future of our democracy, then I challenge her to come out from behind her proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media, and face me directly," Gabbard added.
. . .
"Clinton didn't reply directly. Instead, she politely cancelled an appearance at "The Most Powerful Women" summit in Washington where Gabbard is scheduled to speak.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday backed out of  Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C. because Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard and former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen are also scheduled to speak,  Fox News reported. Her team, however, said it was because of "scheduling conflicts."
"I guess she prefers hiding behind her proxies.
"All of this has led to a surprising turn of events. Tulsi Gabbard is rising in Iowa." . .  .

Romney Bashed as 'Total Loser' After Secret Twitter Account Is Discovered
"Republican Sen. Mitt Romney confirmed he has a secret Twitter account, which was opened in 2011, shortly after he announced he was running for president.
"The senator discussed the account in an interview with The Atlantic but did not reveal what his name was at the time.
"After the interview, however, Slate was able to determine it was the locked account of Pierre Delecto, with the handle @qaws9876."

Snit Romney "I want my vote back, Mitt. Give me back my vote.
"In 2012, I voted for this insufferable establishment icon, this inept goof who the Democrats wish every Republican would emulate. Some nights, I wake up sweating and screaming when I relive it in my nightmares. I should have taken my ballot, lit it on fire and flushed it down the Schiffhole." . . .

What Utah Voters Really Want From Mitt Romney  . . . "But Biggart added that he isn’t holding his breath. “We have very low expectations for Romney,” he said. “And frankly, because congressional Republicans have done so little to slow [Trump’s] agenda, any pushback at all will unfortunately be hailed as taking a stand.” . . .

‘C’est moi’: Mitt Romney admits to running secret Twitter account under the alias ‘Pierre Delecto’  "On Sunday, Twitter users lost their collective minds when they learned that Pierre Delecto wasn’t a bot or a random Romney superfan, but an account run by the Republican senator himself. As Delecto, Romney, who has become one of President Trump’s most vocal GOP critics, used the account to like critical tweets about the president, while also occasionally defending himself against detractors. By early Monday, the unusual pseudonym was a trending moment on Twitter and had been mentioned in more than 47,000 tweets." . . .

Mitt Romney: Impeachment of Trump an ‘Inflection Point in American History’  . . . "Coppins wrote that while most Republicans have backed the president amidst the impeachment inquiry, Romney continues to stay “open to the idea that the president may need to be evicted from the Oval Office.”
"Sen. Romney said that he believes that the potential impeachment will serve as a critical juncture in American history.
“ 'I do think people will view this as an inflection point in American history,” Romney said.
“ 'I don’t look at myself as being a historical figure,” the failed 2012 Republican presidential candidate said. However, Romney adds, “I do think these are critical times. And I hope that what I’m doing will open the way for people to take a different path.' ” . . .

Dick Morris: ‘If You Feel a Pulse, You Know Hillary’s Going to Run’  . . . "Morris went on to say he believes Warren gets the nomination, which he explained would be bad news for the Democratic Party looking to take down President Donald Trump.
“ 'I think Warren will still win. And I think Trump will still beat the daylights out of her, But this Democratic process isn’t over yet,” he advised." . . .

Media begin canonization of Mitt Romney   . . . "Mitt Romney was a cartoon villain so far as the media and other Democrats were concerned.
"That was then, but now that Donald Trump is president and Romney a senator who may be called to cast a vote in a Senate impeachment trial, Romney is enjoying the media's "strange new respect," much like a Republican-appointed Supreme Court justice voting with the liberal bloc.  The Atlantic, the deep-pocketed publication owned by the widow of Steve Jobs, is one of the true thought leaders on the journalistic Left, and it is signaling that Romney is a man entitled to deep respect, for he may someday play the role that Howard Baker played with Richard Nixon.  In an article by McKay Coppins, entitled "The Liberation of Mitt Romney," the positive language is slathered onto Mitt with abandon, considering how recently he was evil incarnate and wore "magic underwear."  For example:" . . .

A glimpse inside Hillary and her demagoguery, showing her state of mind

Still loved by Feminists and TV hosts like Colbert; is Hillary the best they can come up with?

Richard Kantro  "It's genuinely remarkable, what with her résumé overflowing with maledictions, malefactions, imprecations, fabrications, machinations, and depredations, that Hillary Clinton was able last week to outdo herself -- at this presumably late stage of her malodorous political career -- by hurling a ball of flaming bile at Tulsi Gabbard.
. . .
"Ah, grace.  Hillary Clinton's frayed psychology is showing, and this perennial beldam's psyche is as ugly as her politics and her tactics.  Tulsi Gabbard's positions aside, she is young, good-looking, well-spoken, patriotic, and politically viable:  reasons enough for a jealous harridan to smolder and burn against her.  The one quality, youth, Clinton left behind decades ago.  The others she never had, and never could."

Explaining Hillary Clinton's feud with Tulsi Gabbard  . . . "With some Obama administration officials, they unleashed the Russian collusion hoax.  Despite the conclusion of the Mueller investigation of Trump, the matter morphed into obstruction of justice and now political abuse of power with Ukraine and military material support.
The eyes of Sauron
"But you have to go back to 2000 to remember that Hillary opposed the election of George W. Bush since he had not won the popular vote against Al Gore.  Later, the California absentee vote revealed a much closer vote, generally not reported by the liberal press.  Our Constitution's Electoral College does not seem to matter to Hillary.

"So why is Hillary so focused on Gabbard?  During the 2016 Democratic primaries, the party had rigged the process against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).  It was clearly Hillary's effort to ensure her nomination.  Tulsi Gabbard found this unacceptable and supported Sanders after resigning her high-level position within the party.  Clinton carries her grudges, and this is payback." . . .

Gabbard Releases Official Video Response to Clinton's Smear
" 'People warned me in 2016 that my endorsement of Bernie Sanders would be the end of my 'political career,'" Gabbard said in the video "They said, 'Clinton will never forget,' that she and her rich and powerful friends, her allies in politics and the media will make sure that you are destroyed." . . .

Put Up or Shut Up on These Accusations, Hillary
Until Hillary Clinton or anyone else generates some actual proof, treat Tulsi Gabbard for what she appears to be — an impassioned isolationist who believes the United States has no business attempting to spread our values or stand up for human rights abroad, and who’s comfortable working with brutal dictators if the end result is fewer American casualties. Not every bad or controversial idea in public life is a sign of a sinister conspiracy.

Hillary Clinton’s sad, sick conspiracy theories  . . . "In her efforts to rationalize her 2016 loss, Hillary Clinton has gone full cuckoo. Vladimir Putin not only robbed her, he’s positioning his “assets” to do it again.
" . . .She’s the favorite of the Russians,” Clinton raved.
"She plainly meant Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, as Plouffe said. Never mind that Gabbard ruled out any third-party bid on CNN in August — or that she’s a veteran who put her life on the line for this country.
"This follows last week’s New York Times story hinting at the same conspiracy theory, which cited at least two former Clinton aides and which Gabbard slammed onstage at last week’s debate." . . .

The Trivialization of Impeachment

Andrew C. McCarthy
It has consequences that threaten liberty.

. . . "To build their political case, Democrats frame every dispute with President Trump in dire terms: proof of his unfitness and the imperative of removing him. No misstep is too trivial. The president’s supporters, to the contrary, are incentivized to defend the president, even when they should be trying to convince him to change course. They do not want to be seen as implicitly supporting the impeachment effort, so every misstep, even ones that are serious though not egregious enough to warrant impeachment, must be defended rather than corrected. And the president — especially one with Trump’s persona, which is always to attack and never to confess error — is encouraged to double down on his mistakes, lest his changing course be seen as an implied admission of misconduct that strengthens the impeachment case.

"The Democratic base demands impeachment. Recently, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has come around to the conclusion that it can be done quickly and with minimal political damage to Democrats who hold seats in pro-Trump districts. It thus appears highly likely that the president will be impeached in the coming weeks." . . .

"By this point in the 2016 Democratic primary, in contrast, a huge bloc Democratic governors, senators and representatives had chosen a candidate, Hillary Clinton."

Anyway, things were different then. There were "superdelegates," and the elite had reason to think they could control things. Here's a WaPo article from September 2018, "The DNC voted to strip superdelegates of their powers. Will it matter for 2020?":
Ann Althouse  " 'But this cycle, the overwhelming majority of congressional Democrats and Democratic governors are still on the sidelines. Indeed, the 2020 Democratic primary looks more like the 2016 Republican primary, when most GOP officials held their fire until deep into the race, than that year’s Democratic race.... Warren has two obvious problems with party elites. First, there is the perception among some of them that her left-wing stands, such as Medicare for All, are too risky for the general election and decrease the party’s chances of defeating President Trump.... Secondly, electoral considerations aside, there is a center-left wing of the Democratic Party that fundamentally disagrees with Warren’s more leftward positions... Warren also has a third challenge with party elites that is less obvious. The Massachusetts senator clashed with senior aides to President Obama for much of his tenure in the White House. She, like Sanders, isn’t quite in line with the party’s establishment. A Warren administration would probably be less likely to hire former Clinton (Bill and Hillary) and Obama aides in key posts than, say, a Biden, Booker or Harris one. So people connected with the party establishment (like many DNC members) may be fine with Warren but prefer other candidates for more self-interested reasons.... The potential danger for the Massachusetts senator is that 'party elites lukewarm about Warren' turns into 'party elites organize to stop Warren.' And perhaps Democratic voters care more about the views of their party’s elites than Republican voters did in 2016."

"From "Why Aren’t More Democrats Endorsing Warren?" (FiveThirtyEight).

"I wish there were some discussion of the way Democratic Party elites behaved in 2008, endorsing Hillary Clinton early and interfering with the rise of Barack Obama. Aren't they avoiding giving Biden what they gave Hillary in '08?" . . .

What has the California culture done to our once-great nation?

California culture has metastasized into our schools, politics, and entertainment media.

Is San Francisco the Future of America?  . . . "I could hardly recognize this once-captivating city of breathtaking views, delectable food and cool jazz. Today it’s occupied by an army of homeless men and women who have turned Baghdad-by-the-bay into Bombay-by-the-bay with some of the dirtiest slums in America." . . .
"Then, most Americans agreed that the family is the basic bloc of society. Now, according to the rising generation, the nuclear family is disappearing, gay rights take precedence over every other kind of right, Washington is accepted as primarily responsible for our welfare, and socialism is the tidal wave of the future." . . .
. . . "Dallas, not San Francisco, is the future, unless the citizens of Baghdad-by-the-bay resolve to take back their city." . . .

Parents strike back at California politicians who berated them for opposing drag queens

"October 18, 2019 (MassResistance) — In Chula Vista, CA, MassResistance parents forced two politicians on the City Council to reveal their ugly (and irrational) anti-family vitriol, resulting in parents getting even angrier at them.

"In Part 1 we described how outraged MassResistance parents and citizens angrily rebuked the City Council members at their Sept. 10 meeting over the Drag Queen event at the local library.

"During the Oct. 1, 2019 meeting of the Chula Vista City Council the openly homosexual City Council member and the Mayor went on a foul rant against MassResistance and the local parents who oppose the Drag Queen event — calling their statements about it "hate speech," "long discredited," and "disgusting."

"Parents reacted to the insulting remarks by coming back the following meeting and testifying with even more powerful rhetoric. (See video here or below.) . . .

Joe Biden’s 2020 Campaign May be at the Beginning of the End

http://www.terrellaftermath.com/
Legal Insurrection
“Biden is confronting growing anxiety among would-be allies in the Democratic establishment”

"Joe Biden has been the front-runner in the race for the 2020 Democratic nomination for months, but cracks are beginning to show in his campaign. Now that Warren has lapped him, people are starting to wonder if he is ever going to recover.
"It’s a fair question.
"From the Associated Press:
With Warren’s rise, Biden faces Dems’ anxiety about 2020 bid
Joe Biden is confronting growing anxiety among would-be allies in the Democratic establishment about his ability to win the presidential nomination following underwhelming debate performances, lagging fundraising and withering attacks from rivals in his own party and from President Donald Trump .
The former vice president’s bank account is better suited for a city council race than a presidential election, warns Terry McAuliffe, a former Virginia governor and Democratic National Committee chairman. Democratic donor Robert Zimmerman describes group “therapy sessions” with some party financiers haranguing the direction of the race. And in New Hampshire, state House Speaker Steve Shurtleff is leaning toward backing Biden, but says “people wish he’d be a little more forceful.”
Their concern is heightened by the rise of Elizabeth Warren , a progressive long viewed by current and former elected officials, big donors and veteran strategists as too liberal to beat Trump in the general election. Warren and Biden are essentially tied at the top of the race with the rest of the field lagging behind.
"Biden hasn’t done much to help himself, and it’s more than just his tendency to be gaffe-prone. He seems too old and out of touch, he made the questions about his son’s dealings in Ukraine and China look worse, and his debate answers often sound like little more than word salad.
"His biggest mistake, however, may have been allowing his lead to falter. It now looks like he is trying to play catch up." . . .

Tulsi Gabbard: 'They will destroy you' if you stand up to Clinton

Hillary Clinton’s words are supposed to carry weight. She has made a charge that the Russians are meddling in the 2020 presidential election. If her statement wasn’t so batty, it should probably trigger an investigation – maybe another special counsel.
The Tulsi-Hillary show  "Has Hillary Clinton finally lost it?"
" 'In what sounded like a sketch from “Saturday Night Live” or an episode of the old “Twilight Zone” TV series, Clinton used a podcast interview this week to throw out a bizarre conspiracy theory attacking struggling Democratic presidential contender Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii.
"Shocked by her stunning defeat at the hands of Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race, Clinton and her supporters – including most of the media – concocted a Russia collusion hoax to explain Trump’s victory." . . .

Tulsi Gabbard fights back against Comrade Clinton’s smear attempts
. . ."Remember, Hillary is the one who signed off on selling Russian-connected parties 20% of the US uranium supply, after which the Clinton Foundation got more than $100 million in “donations” and Bill pocketed $500,000 cash for speeches to Moscow banks controlled by Putin-allied oligarchs.
"Why would the Russians have ever supported Donald Trump when they already knew that they could, uh, do business with the Clintons? They say Vladimir Putin is a gangster, and he probably is, so let me ask you: since when do gangsters want to replace crooked cops they’ve already bribed, and therefore own?" . . .

What the Framers Knew That Hillary Doesn’t
. . . "Democrats have claimed over and over that Trump has some sort of mental illness, but a far stronger case could be made that it is Clinton who is clinically delusional. She remains unable to understand that she failed to gain an Electoral College majority because she was the less talented candidate and because of her obvious use of her governmental position corruptly to increase her and her family’s wealth."
. . .
"Clinton’s talent for fabrication, a talent also shared by her husband (a man once branded by a fellow Democratic politician, Senator Bob Kerry, as an “unusually good liar”) is also manifested by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the other Democrats pushing for the impeachment of President Trump with the currently manufactured tale of misdeeds involving the Ukraine.". . .

Ben Garrison
CNN Democrat Van Jones Slams Hillary Over Her Atrocious Attack Of Tulsi
. . . "Here’s what he had to say Friday night:
“If you’re concerned about disinformation…that is what just happened, just throw out some information, disinformation, smear somebody. She is Hillary Clinton. She’s a legend. She’s going to be in the history books. She’s a former nominee of our party, and she just came out against a sitting U.S. congresswoman, a decorated war veteran, and somebody who’s running for the nomination of our party with just a complete smear and no facts.”
. . .

The Russians are coming! Is Hillary drinking again?

Her hunt for Red November, 2016.

Hillary in 2018: The Russians are coming!  . . . "Hillary Clinton thinks the Russians are so dangerous that her State Department approved the sale of 20% of our Uranium reserves to the Russians after the Clinton Foundation received $145 million dollars from many people connected to the Uranium deal." . . .
. . . "The left has now shifted the narrative since the Russian collusion hoax is unraveling; they want Trump to put sanctions on Russia over the online trolls.
"Hillary Clinton and the delusional left just can’t admit Hillary was a horrible candidate and was rejected by the American people; she lost because of the Russians." . . .

Hillary sounds the alarm  . . . "We now have a clearer grasp of where the Democrats stand as regards accusations of scandal among their own. They won’t talk about Hillary’s emails (that was Bernie in 2016). They won’t talk about Joe and Hunter cashing massive checks from Ukraine (that was everybody the past couple weeks), but they will talk about Tulsi Gabbard chasing moose and squirrel.

"It’s quite a commentary on the state of the Democrats when the two kookiest old girls are the only sensible candidates.
"But it still doesn’t explain why Comrade Hillary, she of the scarcely modified Mao jackets, the penchant for total surveillance, and the under-the-table deals with Russia, Ukraine, and China, took on the Jack D. Ripper persona to tear into Tulsi and Jill Stein (as forgotten today as Cyndi Lauper) as agents of the Kremlin.
"What Hillary has adapted, of course (though nobody’s willing to admit it) is the ancient persona of the demented red hunter of the early days of the Cold War. The irony is that this slander was deliberately developed by the Democrats themselves, for whom it proved extremely useful long after the Cold War ended. But until now, it was only used against Republicans.
"Or was it?" . . .
