Flashback: In 1987, Biden’s Presidential Campaign Was Derailed By Charges Of Plagiarism

Slate; 2008: Why Biden’s plagiarism shouldn’t be forgotten.

. . . "But Biden’s exit from the 1988 race is worth recalling in detail, because his transgressions far exceeded Obama’s own relatively innocent lifting of rhetorical set pieces from his friend Deval Patrick, which occasioned a brief flap last February. Biden’s misdeeds encompassed numerous self-aggrandizing thefts, misstatements, and exaggerations that seemed to point to a serious character defect. In some ways, the 1988 campaign—in which scandal forced not just Biden but also Gary Hart from the race—marked a watershed in the absurd gotcha politics that have since marred our politics and punditry. But unlike Hart’s plight, Biden’s can’t be blamed on an overly intrusive or hectoring press corps. The press was right to dig into this one.." . . .

From Snopes: Then-U.S. Sen. Joe Biden withdrew from the 1988 presidential race after admitting to plagiarism and exaggeration of his academic record.
. . .The announcement came 10 days after the New York Times‘ Maureen Dowd reported that Biden had “lifted” parts of a speech by British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock, “with phrases, gestures and lyrical Welsh syntax intact,” for use in a 23 August 1987 debate at the Iowa State Fair . . .
"A September 17, 1987 broadcast of the PBS NewsHour discusses how Joe Biden’s 1988 presidential bid was derailed by charges of plagiarism."

It’s Over. Black Activists Have Yanked Kamala Harris’ ‘Black Card’

Hardly anyone else has dared to bring up Harris' heritage, instead giving her a free pass for speaking out on African American issues. Harris also uses her black identity to talk about issues like reparations. This is even more absurd considering her ancestors owned slaves. But she talks about it as if she's a victim.

WND  "The left is excited about Sen. Kamala Harris running for president because she's a black female. But she's not African American. The term "typically refers to descendants of enslaved black people who are from the United States." Harris is half Jamaican and half Indian. And her father says their ancestors owned slaves.
"However, she's trying to play the race card in the presidential election to attract the black vote. She tried to portray Joe Biden as a racist during the first Democratic debates last week.
"It's personal and it was actually very hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country," Harris said, referring to praise Biden had given segregationists he worked with in Congress. "It was not only that, but you also worked with them to oppose busing. And there was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bussed to school every day. And that little girl was me."
"Ali Alexander, an outspoken conservative activist who is half African American and half Arab, was disgusted with Harris pulling the race card during the debate. He called her out on her heritage Thursday. Alexander tweeted, "Kamala Harris is *not* an American Black. She is half Indian and half Jamaican. I'm so sick of people robbing American Blacks (like myself) of our history. It's disgusting. Now using it for debate time at #DemDebate2? These are my people not her people. Freaking disgusting." Unlike Harris, Alexander's ancestors lived through slavery and the Jim Crow era. Harris' parents moved to the U.S. in 1960-61, the tail end of Jim Crow laws." . . .  Emphasis mine, TD

It’s Over. Black Activists Have Yanked Kamala Harris’ ‘Black Card’
"Kamala Harris’ doomed-to-fail 2020 presidential run is over before it even started because she is no longer allowed to be black. Yesterday super-white lunatic Chris Matthews questioned Harris’ blackness, but he lacks the skin pigmentation to make such a call. Today however, black activists have decided that Harris is not black and therefore just another rich white elitist running for president. With this unfortunate news, Elizabeth Warren is now the most ethnic democrat running for president.
"Black activist Tariq Nasheed ran the numbers and Kamala Harris doesn’t qualify as black:"

Kamala Harris has never identified herself with Black people, but now that she's running for president and she need the Black vote, her camp is trying to say things like "Kamala is Black because she went to Howard University".....
Um...
Rachel Dolezal went to Howard too

Two of a kind. It's sad that the one on the right embraced black culture while the one on the left has rejected the culture until now.

'Coup' Concerns Suddenly Don't Seem So Far-Fetched

"Former CIA Boss Celebrates Impeachment: 'Thank God for the Deep State!' "

Victor Davis Hanson  "For most of the last three years, Donald Trump's critics have scoffed at supposed "conspiracy theories" that claimed a "deep state" of bureaucrats were aborting the Trump presidency. We have been told the word "coup" is hyperbole that reveals the paranoid minds of Trump supporters.
"Yet oddly, many people brag that they are proud members of a deep state and occasionally boast about the idea of a coup.
"Recently, former acting CIA chief John McLaughlin proclaimed in a public forum, "Thank God for the deep state." Former CIA director John Brennan agreed and praised the "deep state people" for their opposition to Trump.
"Far from denying the danger of an unelected careerist bureaucracy that seeks to overturn presidential policies, New York Times columnists have praised its efforts to nullify the Trump agenda.
"On the first day of the impeachment inquiry, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff called his initial two witnesses, career State Department diplomats William Taylor, Jr. and George Kent. Far from providing damning evidence of criminal presidential behavior, Taylor and Kent mostly confined themselves to three topics: their own sterling resumes, their lack of any firsthand knowledge of incriminating Trump action, and their poorly hidden disgust with the manner and substance of Trump's foreign policy." . . .

The ‘Coup Klutz Clan’: The Pistol-toting Gang That Just Can’t Shoot Straight

Canada Free Press

Infamy will forever define all members of the ‘Coup Klutz Clan’, depicted here in the cartoon caricatures of Canada Free Press cartoonist, Dag Barkley.
"In the end, it will not be their crazed impeachment demands that will define the ‘Coup Klutz Clan’ but INFAMY—‘The Pistol-toting Gang That Just Can’t Shoot Straight’.
After all the histrionics of Adam Schiff televised LIVE at the Impeachment ‘Inquiry’ with one bureaucrat after another having to admit they have no evidence of wrong doing by President Donald Trump, they’re shooting themselves in their own feet.
"This is where they stand after all has been said and done:
" ‘Trump Approval Holds Steady in Face of Impeachment Probe’. (Gallup, Nov. 20, 2019)
• President Donald Trump’s approval has risen back to 43%
• Disapproval of Trump has fallen to 54%
• Trump’s handling of the economy remains his strongest area
“Despite days of focus by national and international news media on the impeachment proceedings currently underway in the House of Representatives, President Donald Trump’s job approval rating remains statistically similar to where it has been for weeks. Gallup’s latest poll, fielded Nov. 1-14, failed to show a noticeable impact of the impeachment hearings in Congress on presidential approval. In fact, the last time the president’s approval rating was 43% was in mid-September, just before news outlets began to report that a whistleblower complaint had been filed regarding a call between Trump and the president of Ukraine.”
"That News and Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk’s latest must have Democrats pulling their own hair (or what’s left of it) out by the roots: . . ."
"After a month of Democrats’ impeachment hoax, the latest 2020 Wisconsin poll has
@realDonaldTrump leading EVERY major Democrat contender:
“Trump Vs Biden—47 to 44“Trump Vs Warren—48 to 43“Trump Vs Sanders—48 to 45“Trump Vs Buttigieg—48 to 39"

MSNBC Dem debate moderators pushed impeachment and hard left policies

Thomas Lifson  "The Democrats might want to rethink their choice of presidential debate sponsors.  Last night's debate on MSNBC featured moderators pushing far-left issues that may please the base but drive away the centrist voters who hold the balance of power.
"Rachel Maddow, the cable channel's biggest star, repeatedly brought up impeachment, an issue that has little appeal beyond the fever swamps, one that the candidates have not been enthusiastic about pushing." . . .
. . .
"The Democrats shamefully refused the offer of Fox News to host a presidential debate, apparently on the theory that probing questions from a network they identify as conservative would cause them discomfort.  But in terms of impact on the voters in November, an ability to speak to issues beyond those obsessing the far left would be far more helpful to them than the leftist goading coming from MSNBC anchors."

Global warming, mental illness, and Greta Thunberg

Global warming, mental illness, and Greta Thunberg " . . .La Vagabonde will take roughly three weeks to reach Spain, where Thunberg hopes to arrive in time for the next round of United Nations-sponsored climate talks.
"Without a doubt, Thunberg's travels across North America, which included angrily lecturing world leaders at the United Nations, have gained her fame and notoriety. This is reminiscent of another child, anti-gun activist David Hogg, being elevated to celebrity status overnight. Both Hogg and Thunberg have been honored not because either has any insights, but because they are fresh faces useful in advancing leftist causes.
"Thunberg's case is the stranger of the two. Not only is she a child leading the man-made climate change parade, but a mentally ill one at that. As Thunberg herself has repeatedly stated, she suffers from Asperger's syndrome, classified as a mental disorder by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), along with several other mental conditions.
"In Greta Thunberg's eyes, her mental illness is not an impediment to her analyzing the hard science behind climate. On the contrary, it's actually an asset. She cites one advantage of Asperger's syndrome is that it provides "remarkable focus and persistence." Or in Greta's case, could we perhaps say the 'remarkable focus' is an obsession?"  . . .

Obama to Greta: 'You and Me, We're a Team'  . . ."If she thinks Obama is on her team, she’s one of the most gullible and uninformed 16-year-olds in the world. Since she apparently knows little about his carbon-consumptive living, I will share that information here. According to TIME, following are a few of the lifestyle choices he made in the first five months after leaving the White House in January 2017, each of which speaks volumes about how seriously he takes his own feigned call for “each and every one of us” to make drastic cutbacks in the use of fossil fuels.' . . . Here are the cutbacks the Obama's have yet to make.
How does this sanctimonious man get away with such stunning hypocrisy?  He gets away with it because the corrupt mainstream media never call him out for consuming the unconscionable amounts of carbon energy needed to fuel his insatiable appetite for lavish living, the planet be damned.
Satire. Much like Schiff's version of Trump's phone call:  Impeachment Committee Calls First Star Witness Greta Thunberg
. . . " 'You have stolen my dreams and my childhood!" she shouted, pounding the table in front of her. The crowd began to get emotional, weeping and shouting and screaming at the sky all at once. "This is all wrong! I shouldn't be here. I should be back in school!"'Even Schiff himself shed a few tears and led the committee in a standing ovation for Thunberg's bravery. "I think we've heard enough. I declare Donald Trump impeached!" Sadly, Schiff was later informed that he couldn't simply declare impeachment."Thunberg concluded her testimony by shouting, "PEOPLE ARE DYING!" to thunderous applause."The committee is now expected to call on other star witnesses like Alyssa Milano, Jane Fonda, and Debra Messing."

Mister Vindman as Ukrainian Asset?

Enter Alexander Semyonovich Vindman. Born Александр Семёнович Виндман (yes, you read that, uh, not right) in “Kiev, Soviet Union (now Ukraine),” he’s currently Director for European Affairs for the National Security Council. His Wikipedia bio also reads, under the “Military service” category, “Allegiance: United States.” Well, we would hope.
[Mister] Lieutenant Colonel Vindman as Ukrainian Asset?  "The Army’s answer to Seinfeld’s George Costanza, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, made quite the statement Tuesday when admitting under oath that he was offered the position of Minister of Defense of Ukraine — three times. Vindman and the Ukrainian official extending the offer now both insist it was a joke, which may be true or not. But it’s irrelevant.
"It should first be noted that a joke isn’t laugh-inducing the third time. All the same, the official who made the offer, Ukraine's former Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksander Danylyuk, wouldn’t be the first to overuse a line he fancied funny. But if it actually was funny even the first time, it would only be because of what it reflected: the same thing it would if it was uttered seriously.
"And the offer would only be made seriously if it was so clear that the Ukrainian-born Vindman was in Ukraine’s corner, that his passions and heart lay with the nation, that he could be trusted to be loyal to it — maybe even more loyal than he’d be to the U.S." . . .

Axios: The Trumpification Of Elise Stefanik

Despite Dem Spin, Sondland Said He Was Never Told By Trump About Any Conditions  "Gordon Sondland was clear: "I've never heard from President Trump that the aid (to Ukraine) was conditioned on the investigations."
So what did @realDonaldTrump say when Sondland DID talk to him?
Sondland, quoting POTUS: "I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo."

Where are the mutineers who will save the Democrat Party from Adam Schiff?

Patricia McCarthy . . . "A classic symptom of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is "one-mindedness," the belief that there is only one valid way to view any situation or issue.  To a person with NPD, what he believes is the only possible true view.  Such people never, ever admit they are wrong.  So Schiff can sit there all day long, hear his theory that President Trump has committed an impeachable offense discredited every which way, and think he made progress toward his goal.  He is that far gone.

"If Pelosi and enough Democrats vote to impeach and send their articles over to the Senate, it will be their permanent undoing.  The American people just are not as stupid as they think we are.
"Obama broke a promise by our country and betrayed Ukraine when Russia invaded and took Crimea.  Obama sent no defensive weapons, no financial aid.  Trump has helped Ukraine each year he has been in office, with weapons and money.  That the aid was delayed a month in 2019 to verify that Zelensky was and is a reformer who means to fight the institutional corruption that has plagued Ukraine for as long as anyone can remember is smart, not criminal.". . .
Impeachment is not Playing in Peoria  "During the heyday of American vaudeville, the answer to the question “Will it play in Peoria?” determined whether a show would be a hit or a flop.  It was generally understood that if the production wasn’t acceptable to those in heartland America, there was no chance it would succeed anywhere else in the country.  So how is the Nancy Pelosi vaudeville production of “The Impeachment Follies” starring Adam Schiff and his merry mélange of marionettes playing in Peoria?" . . .
"In the days of vaudeville when a show was destined to not play well in Peoria the producers would cut their losses and shelve the production.  So, Nancy Pelosi what are you going to do?  Stick with The Ukraine debacle to the bitter end rather than admit a mistake?  Try and create out of whole cloth yet another impeachment theory?  Slink off into the shadows and not have an impeachment vote?  You have spent three years building the gallows for Donald Trump but you and your compatriots in the House of Representatives may well be the only ones hanging from it on November 3, 2020."

We'll Tell You Who's Privileged

It’s getting to the point that the only purpose of the establishment media is to alert us that there’s a story about something. You see a headline “Carnage in Las Vegas” or “How Voters Turned Virginia From Deep Red to Solid Blue,” and think to yourself, Oh, I’ll have to look that up from a fairer source. No wonder the social media companies are so hellbent on purging conservatives from the internet.
Ann Coulter  "While waiting for a car at Union Station last Thursday night, I was treated to a giant TV screen playing Christine Blasey Ford's testimony from last year against then-nominee Brett Kavanaugh -- now "Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh." The display had been arranged by feminists to protest the justice’s speech to a Federalist Society dinner inside the station.
"Thanks for the memories! I’ve been meaning to mention that Kavanaugh’s opponents are inveterate liars, who cannot be trusted to tell the truth about anything. This was just the nudge I needed!
"Today, we’ll cover some of the left’s lies about “white privilege.” (More to come in a future column.)
"In their now discredited book,
“The Education of Brett Kavanaugh,” Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly describe a mythical Yale University of the 1980s, teaming with rich preppies swatting down humble Puerto Ricans with their polo mallets.
"The humble Puerto Rican in question is Debbie Ramirez, who didn’t remember what Kavanaugh had done to her for more than 30 years, until he was nominated to the Supreme Court, after which she spent “six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney,” as The New Yorker put it.
"That doesn’t sound like much of an accusation, but liberals have a better method of deciding the truth:

Male: bad; Female: good;
White: bad; Half-Puerto Rican: good;
Rich: bad; Poor: good.
"Using this abacus, the authors set out to prove that Ramirez is pure as the driven snow (except snow is bad because it’s white), and Kavanaugh is lower than pond scum.
"Ramirez is depicted as a plucky ingenue from humble beginnings, who’d been thrown into a maelstrom of preppies at Yale. “[S]he often felt,” Pogrebin and Kelly write, “insufficiently rich, experienced or savvy to mingle with her more privileged classmates.”
. . .
"Outside of a Hollywood movie set, no living American would recognize the place described by the authors. Does Yale have any WASPs anymore?" . . .  Full article.
