Book details Obama's dislike of Romney

The Oval  "A soon-to-be-published e-book discusses how personal the presidential race has become.
"When President Obama talked about Mitt Romney in recent months, "aides picked up a level of anger he never had for (Hillary) Clinton or (John) McCain," writes Politico's Glenn Thrush in Obama's Last Stand, which will be out on Aug. 20."
Obama, a person close to him told me, didn't even feel this strongly about conservative, combative House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the Hill Republican he disliked the most. At least Cantor stood for something, he'd say.

Still searching for signs of class in the Democrat Party. Still searching...

Washington Free Beacon;  WH: Harry Reid ‘speaks for himself’

Pelosi: Harry Reid’s Baseless Accusation Against Romney Is “True” And “A Fact”… "Pelosi also added that “Harry Reid is a person who is, as we know, A, is a fighter, B, he wouldn’t say this unless it was true that somebody told him that.” " Emphasis added so you can see what Pelosi is actually saying; not that Romney didn't pay taxes, but that somebody told Reid that. I'm sure some Obama operative did tell Reid that. Hat tip to Weasel Zippers
....
RNC chairman: 'I'll triple down' on calling Reid a 'dirty liar' ‬ "The RNC chairman first made his "liar" comments Sunday on ABC's "This Week," when he said he wasn't going to respond to "a dirty liar who hasn't filed a single page of tax returns himself, complains about people with money but lives in the Ritz Carlton here down the street." "
....
86 percent of Romney coverage negative   "The broadcast networks committed 53 minutes of almost entirely negative coverage to Mr. Romney, and 92 minutes of "gushing" to Mr. Obama.
" "The near unanimous negativity of their coverage is as outrageous as it is transparent," observes the center's founder Brent Bozell. "It's impossible to look at the fawning coverage of Obama's trip in 2008 compared to the sliming Romney has taken in 2012 and not see a clear agenda on the part of the liberal media." Aftermath of the Sikh Temple shooting (Epilogue added)

Who could ever have a grudge against Sikhs? Only a few idiots who think that their turbans mean they are Muslims, perhaps? One Sikh storekeeper was murdered after 9-11 by some simpleton who thought the man was a Muslim.
The killer was called a "right-winger" and so he may be. But I am what MSNBC calls a "right-winger" as well, yet I utterly condemn this vicious act perpetrated by a man with twisted, sub-human thought processes and I mourn for his innocent victims.
What makes me a right-winger is my fear of what liberalism will do to our once-great culture. Why this man is called "right-wing" I hesitate to say, but utterly reject the term being synonymous with murderous hate and ignorance; I've seen too much of that in the Occupy movement. TD

Wisconsin’s Sikh Temple Shooting: Despicable Liberal Political Ammunition?
"Salem has a very large Sikh population, and I’ve had the privilege of interacting with a few during my daily adventures. Every one was very kind, polite, and friendly. I heard about the shooting on the way back from my own, Christian church early this afternoon, and I couldn’t help my thoughts from drifting to my own church and place of worship. I can’t imagine a sanctuary being defiled like that. The fact that our local Sikhs are such lovely people makes it even more shocking that someone would want to do them harm."
...."Control the narrative. Stand for something. The moment the left starts to pull that crap, set the record straight and don’t shut up about it. That’s all for now, and God bless the families and friends of those who were killed and injured in this senseless act."   Generation the Great

Muslim attacks on Sikhs: Islamic Jihad against Sikhism   "Muslims believe* that Islam must be supreme among religions. Members of all religions other than Islam are classified as 'Kuffars' - infidels who must be humiliated and in some cases exterminated. Jews and Christians who accept the supremacy of Islam are dhimmis who are allowed to live in subjugation, although the Koran requires that all Jews must be exterminated eventually."
* Muslims who are serious followers of the Koran that is. I maintain that the more committed the Muslims to the Koran, the more warlike they are. TD

Back to the subject with an article corroborating the two previous links:
Sikh temple shooter said to be white supremacist
"Potok said there's no research showing white supremacists hating Sikhs, indicating that Sunday's attack was almost certainly an example of someone mistaking Sikhs for Muslims."

Shooter Identified As Former US Military Member   No, we cannot condemn violent, racist heavy metal bands because then we'd be accused of a racist attempt to attack Rap as well.
Better to attack conservatives and TEA Partiers.
You can be sure that news networks are combing this murderer's words to find any trace at all of words sympathetic to Republicans, Christians or the TEA Party.
Epilogue: Today, we are all American Sikhs   ...."Tragically, the turban meant to represent a commitment to service and justice has since marked Sikh Americans as targets in hate violence. Our family, alongside Sikh families who arrived in a wave of immigration after the 1960s, became American in law but not necessarily in the eyes of our neighbors. I was old enough to remember racial slurs and shattered windows after the Iran hostage crisis, the first Gulf War and the Oklahoma City bombing. Still, none of this could prepare me for 9/11."....
.... "But this time, something new happened: The whole nation paid attention. Thousands of people posted messages of love and support in the face of unspeakable tragedy. They knew that the Sikh community gathered to pray on a Sunday morning just like millions in churches across the country. They knew that the terrible loss of life so recently after the shootings in Aurora shocks the conscience and violates our deepest values. They knew that this is not a Sikh tragedy but an American tragedy."

We Should Have Kept Our Heads Down Rather Than Support Chick-fil-A

PJ Lifestyle   If we stay quiet and don't move, will they still think we hate them?
There are lots of other examples. Read about the aftermath of OWS occupations around the country and look at the photos [there is a collection of such photos at the PJ Tatler] and contrast those with the Tea Party rallies. Then tell me which we should fear: the lawless mob who confiscates public property and yells “burn it down, eat the rich, and seize their money,” or the people who say “could we please enforce our laws and Constitutional limitations, stop spending money we don’t have, and elect officials who will support these principles” and then pick up their trash and go back to work?   Leslie Loftis

Whom do you meet today that knows this man? Mel Blanc: The Man of a Thousand Voices

Many of his characters are considered politically incorrect today, so kids may never get to watch the cartoons featuring Mel's voices. In fact, I would get more sympathy today by breaking windows in a bank or calling for the death of any conservative than playing these videos, so what does that tell you? TD

So, what's a few regulations between friends?

[Indiana Schools Superintendent Tony] Bennett pointed out that the Common Core’s standards originated with the National Governors Association, and were intended for voluntary adoption by states. Then, according to Bennett, Obama nationalized the standards and has tried to use federal clout to force the Common Core on the states.

Some parting photos of the Chick-fil-A events

WE THE PEOPLE have spoken!

Twitchy
"An article at Twitchy noted that liberal "tolerance bullies" celebrated the vandalism." "Chick-fil-A vandalized overnight with hateful graffiti. That's very good. I would have set fire to it," one person tweeted."
Sigh.

What Obama Has in Store for Us

John Fund at NRO  "D’Souza, a bestselling author and the president of King’s College in New York, emigrated from India as a boy, and he says he understands something of how Obama’s exotic upbringing in Hawaii and Indonesia might have shaped his view of America. But D’Souza, a conservative, sees America as a land of tolerance and opportunity. He believes Obama “adopted his [anti-colonialist] father’s position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America.” That may be stretching things just a bit, but remember, it was the president himself who just told small-business owners they can’t take credit for their own success.
.... "But the film scores points by highlighting Obama’s bizarre reluctance to develop North American oil and gas reserves while encouraging developing nations to develop theirs.

"No one can really claim they know exactly what makes the president tick. But 2016: Obama’s America leaves enough clues on the table to make us wonder if we would be taking an even bigger risk in reelecting him than we took in 2008. After all, we’ve never observed the actions of a Barack Obama who knows he will never have to face an electorate again."

Talk about gaffes

israel today; Obama, Palestinians irked by Romney remarks on Jerusalem

"In 1995, the US Congress officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital and legislated that the American embassy be moved there. But every six months since, a succession of American presidents have invoked a national security clause to postpone implementation of that legislation, fearing an Arab and Muslim backlash.
"Both Israel and the Palestinians believe Romney may reverse that policy."
NRO; Romney’s Truth Telling; Palestinians would profit from recognizing the success of Israeli culture.  "Even before they came here, even before they were Americans, emigrants from England were used to an active civic life, trial by jury, freedom of speech and the press, individual rights and their assertion. “They carried these free institutions and virile mores with them to America,” Tocqueville writes, “and these characteristics sustained them against the encroachments of the state.” They made themselves, as a result, wealthy and free."  Rich Lowry

Urban Legend: Is President Obama honoring Jane Fonda as one of the women of the century?

Conservatives must make sure that only Harry Reid and his Democrats are known for making up lies and phony rumors. Don't pass stories like these on until you have checked them against sites such as this one. TD
Fact Check.org  No. That was done 11 years ago by Barbara Walters of ABC News.
"It is simply false that the president is planning to honor Jane Fonda as one of the "100 women of the century," as this chain e-mail claims.
"Fonda was one of many women featured in a Barbara Walters special for ABC News called "A Celebration: 100 Years of Great Women," which looked at the "most inspiring, intriguing and entertaining" women of the 20th century. It was actually based on a list of the "100 Most Important Women of the 20th Century" selected by a panel for Ladies’ Home Journal.
"The program hosted by Walters aired on April 30, 1999, nearly 10 years prior to Obama becoming president. Versions of this e-mail — without references to Obama, of course — began circulating soon after Walters’ special aired. They make some false claims about Fonda."
But this does not mean that she is not among the likes of Bill Ayres and the others of the 60's left who flaunted the "peace" sign (so popular in school fashions today) as they spat on our returning troops and called them "baby killers". (By the way, have any of those people applied that term to Palestinian terrorists?)

But a couple were true; as you will read in this article.

$465 for Amnesty: Obama to Make Illegals Legal Before Election Day

From We the People

"And now, in a climate where Americans and Mexicans who are here legally alike can’t find jobs, Obama has moved into the second phase of his cynical power grab by granting what can only be defined as amnesty for a measly $465
"The Department of Homeland Security today announced details of the application and approval process for the DREAM Act-like program, outlining specific eligibility requirements and a $465 fee. It will begin Aug. 15."

"The ABC's of Journalism's Eroding Integrity" and other stories about the media (UPDATED!)

By Alan Caruba at Warning Signs  "I joined the Society of Professional Journalists... thirty-three years ago. The preamble to its Code of Ethics says, “Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist’s credibility” and that journalists should “test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent errors.” "
...."The kind of reporting that has become the hallmark of ABC News is an insult to everyone.
....
"The ABC News product increasingly ceases to be journalism. It is sensationalism. It is reprehensible. It’s time to let ABC News feel the sting of public disapproval."  Full Article...  (Emphasis added)

Caruba's piece naturally leads us to these other related stories:
ABC Sees 'Outrageous and Apparently Unfounded' Charge By Reid, Revisits Romney's Taxes  "But Reid is really just trying to goad Romney into releasing more tax returns. He's only released last year's return and an estimate of this year's, showing he paid a tax rate of about 13.9 percent. Last week, David Muir asked him about that."
