Brian Williams to move from NBC to MSNBC (Average IQ at both channels to go up)

American Thinker
"In a move that will bolster the credibility level of both networks, Brian Williams reportedly is to move from NBC News, where he formerly was anchor, to MSNBC.  The New York Times:
NBC is planning to announce on Thursday that Brian Williams will not return to his position as the anchor of its “Nightly News” show, four months after the network suspended him for exaggerating his experiences during a helicopter attack in Iraq, according to two people briefed on the decision.
. . . "Williams has a $50-million contract with NBC, so using him at low-rated MSNBC is better than just paying him to do nothing.  But with a little imagination, perhaps pairing him with fellow fantasist Al Sharpton, the beleaguered cable net could turn to an explicit comedy/fantasy approach to programming." . . .

Can Brian Williams save MSNBC?
"Is it any wonder, given the pathetic MSNBC line up:"

These Are The Victims Of The Charleston Church Shooting
"Susie Jackson, 87, was also a victim of the attack, the coroner confirmed. She was a member of the Eastern Light Chapter No. 360 Order of the Eastern Star, according to a community activist on Twitter."

  Chris Singleton tweeted:
Something extremely terrible has happened to my mom tonight, please pray for her and my family. Pray asap
Buzzfeed reported: "All nine victims of the Charleston church shooting have been identified; the youngest was 26, and the oldest was 87."

Here Is What We Know About The Suspect In The Charleston Church Massacre
. . . "Another friend of the shooter told the Associated Press he recently made surprising, racist comments.
"As the AP reported:
Meek says that Roof’s racial comments came completely out of the blue and that his friend had been nothing like that before he moved away.
Meek says he could tell something was troubling his friend recently, but he wasn’t able to find out what was bothering him before the shooting.
. . .  "A former roommate, Dalton Tyler, told ABC News he saw Roof last week.

“ 'He was big into segregation and other stuff,” Tyler said. “He said he wanted to start a civil war. He said he was going to do something like that and then kill himself.”

The suspect in the shooting at a Charleston, South Carolina, church that killed nine people has been identified by authorities as 21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof.

"He also said Roof had an “on and off” relationship with his parents and that they bought him a gun.

"As Cowles told the New York Daily News:
Roof’s dad gave him a .45 caliber gun for his 21st birthday in April — a present that delighted the shy, quiet Roof. Cowles talked to him a day later.
CNN’s Van Jones Insists Church Shooter Be Called ‘White Racist Terrorist’
. . . "Liberals are delighting in the church shooting because they say the killer was a racist right-wing radical and they think that proves how evil anyone who isn’t a lefty is. I’m a white conservative gun-owning man and I can tell you that I do not support what Dylan Roof did in any way. His actions are not based on anything I believe in and they do not reflect on conservatives, gun owners, or white people.

"Roof is not a right-wing warrior or a terrorist. He’s a very disturbed person that did a terrible thing and he deserves to be crushed under the hammer of justice."

Hate Motivated Killer, Not His Gun  . . . " The alleged gunman appears to have been filled with irrational hatred of African-Americans and reportedly uttered an old stereotypical canard about blacks before he opened fire. In doing so, he sent a chill down the spine of every decent American who not only despises the twisted ideology he espoused but also understand the way an attack on a black church calls up horrible memories of the struggle for civil rights. That ought to be enough to give us all plenty of food for thought about the persistence of hate even in an era in which America has overcome its past prejudices to the point where an African-American man is serving out his second term as president of the United States."

A Victim Of A Gang Shooting, Marcus Stanley, Wrote A Heartfelt Message On The Charleston Suspect’s Facebook Page

Buzzfeed    “I don’t look at you with the eyes of hatred, or judge you by your appearance or race, but I look at you as a human being that made a horrible decision.”

"Stanley left a lengthy comment for Roof on the photo, saying he didn’t believe he was evil and asking him to ask for forgiveness."
Then may God bless Mr. Stanley because he is handling this with more Christ-likeness than I have so far.
My main thought has been wanting to see this piece of racist refuse collected and injected.  The Tunnel Dweller.

Seeking an effective argument FOR gun control (Posted here after the terrible Sandy Hook massacre)

The Tunnel Wall; Tuesday, December 18, 2012
Here, two respected writers discuss the case against taking away individual firearms from Americans. Yes, it is true that if guns did not exist everywhere in this nation those little children in Sandy Hook would be living right now and I only wish that were the case. But it is not and there are violent people out there in their thousands and they are armed; willing and lusting to watch innocent people die in bunches by their hands. How, exactly do you gun-control advocates plan to remove those weapons from their blood-thirsty hands?
I will honestly look for a reasoned argument FOR gun control that contains effective means for keeping us safe from those who carry weapons illegally and are willing to do us harm. Cartoons showing crazed, wild-eyed gun owners don't wash.
As yet, I have seen only politically correct, emotional responses to the issue that have no value other than simply making a politician look as if they are doing something. TD

Full post here with commentary from Alan Caruba in Warning Signs:
"Among gun owners, the cliché is that “A gun in the hand is quicker than a cop on the phone.” "
And from Thomas Sowell comes: How many times do the same arguments need to be refuted?
. . . There is innocent ignorance and there is invincible, dogmatic, and self-righteous ignorance. Every tragic mass shooting seems to bring out examples of both among gun-control advocates.

Hillary Charged Kids’ Charity $200,000 For Speech

Hillary Clinton told a crowd Saturday that as a teen in Park Ridge she volunteered at her Methodist Church to babysit for the kids of Mexican migrant workers working the fields. What an angel. She'd gather all the children into a circle for story time, and then charge them two hundred thousand dollars per story. Comedian Argus Hamilton
Daily Caller   "Hillary Clinton charged a kids’ charity $200,000 to speak — and she pocketed every dime.
"Clinton reportedly charged the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach $200,000 for a speech earlier this year, according to new speaking disclosures made available on the Clinton Foundation website.

Wouldn’t Interact With Kids
When Condoleezza Rice headlined a 2009 fundraising luncheon for the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, she collected a $60,000 speaking fee, then donated almost all of it back to the club, according to multiple sources familiar with the club’s finances.
Hillary Clinton was not so generous to the small charity, which provides after-school programs to underprivileged children across the Southern California city. Clinton collected $200,000 to speak at the same event five years later, but she donated nothing back to the club, which raised less than half as much from Clinton’s appearance as from Rice’s, according to the sources and tax filings.
Instead, Clinton steered her speaking fee to her family’s own sprawling $2 billion charity.

Dolezal: Another of those who are splitting this nation apart for their own personal advantage

Dolezol did earn the coveted honor of "Weasel of the Week"
Yes, It’s Faux Black Person And Racial Grievance Monger Rachel Dolezal!!
The Razor : Should we just skip the submissions and go with Rachel Dolezal?
This puts her in whole new class of super-weasel in my book.
Puma By Design : Rachel Dolezal lied, committed fraud, sued Howard University, lied about living in a teepee. Dolezal was determined to be a victim by any means necessary.  Dolezal is a mega weasel.
I’ve  already had a few things to say about this weeks’ winner. One thing the age of Obama has brought to us on steroids is the age of the victim.Everyone, it seems, is now entitled to grievance points unless you’re white, Asian, Christian, Jewish, Male, heterosexual or any combination thereof. As people like Rachel Dolezal discovered, there definitely is such a thing as black privilege, and others besides her have figured that out and taken advantage of it.

Rachel Dolezal hits bottom, keeps digging . . . "Dolezal, who resigned Monday as president of the African-American advocacy group’s chapter in Spokane, Washington, after her parents said she’d been misrepresenting her racial heritage, told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, “I haven’t had a DNA test. There’s been no biological proof that Larry and Ruthanne are my biological parents.”
"Guthrie noted that Dolezal’s birth certificate includes both her parents’ names.

Watch Rachel Dolezal’s Long, Unbelievably Incoherent Interview with Melissa Harris-Perry
"
. . . She resigned her position as an NAACP chapter president, but there are reports that she’s in talks for reality television shows and will soon be hiring an agent and a publicist. And some prominent liberal intellectuals are buying her charade — even as both sides struggle for coherence. Tuesday night in an interview with MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry, both interviewer and interviewee did their best to justify Dolezal’s nonsense and ever-unspooling deceptions."

Rachel Dolezal Speaks To Baltimore Protestors

 Nice Deb    "Blaxploitation Issue"
. . . "If you’re interested, here’s Rachel Donezal in Baltimore, whipping up the mob to do some more looting and burning. In Baltimore, blacks whose businesses were burnt down, whom lost jobs or who now have to travel miles for a pharmacy or a grocery store and whom now suffer from a sharply increased crime rate might have something to say about her ‘representation.’ " . . ,

Turning Things Around: Patton Takes Over II Corps after the disaster at Kasserine Pass

"The American debacle at the Battle of Kasserine Pass had brought the simmering command crisis of II Corps to a head. But Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of Allied forces in North Africa, still had yet to decide on whether or not to relieve II Corps commander Maj. Gen. Lloyd Fredendall. In early March following a command conference at Tébessa in northeast Algeria, Eisenhower pulled aside Maj. Gen. Omar Bradley, newly arrived from the States, who at Ike’s request had recently completed an inspection of II Corps. Eisenhower asked, “What do you think of the command here?” Bradley replied, “It’s pretty bad. I’ve talked to all the division commanders. To a man they’ve lost confidence in Fredendall as the corps commander.'” . . .

FIRST MARY JO KOPECHNE, THEN AMERICA

"At the risk of striking a discordant note: We don't have an obligation to bring in people who need government assistance intended for our own people. You only have to do something you don't want to do if you're obliged morally, legally or with a gun to your head. You have to invite your relatives to Thanksgiving dinner because you'd be a jerk not to -- but you don't have to invite your neighbor's relatives to dinner.
What is the point of bringing in immigrants whom we have to help? Oh, I remember now! The rich need cheap labor and the Democrats need welfare-dependent voters."

Ann Coulter
"Sen. Ted Kennedy's 1965 immigration act allowed the Democrats to start winning elections the same way they win recounts: by enlarging the pool of voters.

"Liberals couldn't convince Americans to agree with them, but they happened to notice that the people of most other countries in the world already agreed with them. So Sen. Ted Kennedy's immigration act brought in millions of poverty-stricken foreigners to live off the American taxpayer and bloc-vote for the Democrats.

"The American people aren't changing their minds. Americans are becoming a minority to other, new people.

"Deft politicians used to know how to convince the 15 percent on the fence. But even Reagan would look at today's electorate and say: Who are you guys? We live in a different country, and I don't remember moving.

"At the precise moment in history when the United States abandoned any attempt to transmit American values to its own citizens, never mind immigrants, the 1965 immigration act began dumping the poorest of the poor from around the world on our country." . . Full article

MICHAEL OREN'S NEW ACCOUNT OF OBAMA'S IRE ON ISRAEL

THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS
" John Podhoretz wrote in the New York Post about former ambassador Michael Oren's new book, which gives some telling insight to Obama's negative relationships with Israel:

It’s not that there’s lots of breaking news in “Ally” that will startle people. Rather, it makes news on almost every page with its incredibly detailed account of the root hostility of the Obama administration toward the Jewish state.

What makes the details especially credible is that Oren is no flame-breathing Israeli right-winger but very much (and at times distressingly) an Establishment creature and one, moreover, who makes it clear he drank the Obama hope-and-change Kool-Aid in 2008. (Indeed, he now serves in Israel’s Knesset not as a member of Bibi Netanyahu’s Likud but of the new centrist Kulanu party.)

On major matters, the administration seemed to hold Israel accountable for problems it had nothing to do with.

Example: The Palestinian Authority made moves toward seeking a declaration of statehood at the United Nations in 2011, which would’ve triggered a law shutting down their US mission and suspending all aid to the PA and to UN agencies that recognized Palestine.

In response, Deputy Secretary of State Tom Nides called Oren into his fancy Foggy Bottom office and screamed at him: “You don’t want the f - - - ing UN to collapse because of your f - - - ing conflict with the Palestinians, and you don’t want the f - - - ing Palestinian Authority to fall apart either.”

To which Oren replied that Israel didn’t want the United Nations to collapse, “but there are plenty of Tea Party types who would, and no shortage of Congress members who are wondering why they have to keep paying Palestinians who spit in the president’s eye.” He reports that Nides “slumped into his Louis XVth chair.”
"I wonder if the deputy secretary's profane tirade is the most jaw-dropping example given in the book? It goes to show we have thin-skinned politicians running around today who're out-of-control and flying off the handle. It's not great Oren appears to be a product of establishment, but his book still does seem to give some interesting insight all the same, and should be read."

We must heed this cautionary tale: " Building the New Dark-Age Mind"

America’s descent into the Dark Ages will not end well. It never has in the past.

Victor Davis Hanson
 america_anarchy_flag_11-30-14-1

. . . "A final symptom of an un-Enlightened age is the assumption that lies are truth because untruth offers collective benefits, while veracity disrupts social justice. Take Obamacare. Almost every promoted tenet of the Affordable Care Act proved false: premiums went up; so did deductibles and co-payments. Millions lost not just their doctors but their existing health care plans [4] as well. The much ballyhooed health care website proved dysfunctional. Newly passed mandates were unlawfully suspended to enhance the Obama reelection effort.

"Nationalized health care did not per se reduce the deficit, nor will its protocols contain escalating costs without radical curtailments in service. Mandatory electronic record keeping did not free physicians up to spend quality time with their patients, but often resulted in the very opposite with doctors typing into computer screens while distracted from patients’ inquiries. Again, no matter. Obamacare is now hailed as the president’s “signature achievement” and is becoming institutionalized in the manner of Social Security.

"The country is terrified about having a rational and logical discussion about almost every great issue of our times: unsustainable national debts and deficits, the new nexus between leftwing plutocracy and populism, the viability of Social Security and Medicare, deteriorating race relations, the Soviet-style American campus, global warming, and the deterioration of medical care. Instead, to preclude honest talk, we offer perfunctory charges of sexism and racism, and seek cover in “fairness” and “equality.”

"The redistributionist, equality-of-result state — fueled by a national progressive ideology — is the new deity that determines what is free expression. Blasphemy is now defined as daring to use logic and evidence to expose the state’s failed, deductive tenets." . . .
