NY Times Article: Jesus Was Likely A 'Palestinian,' Not White. But does the left call President Trump a Jew, or a Nazi?

Daily Caller  "The article discusses how “a white Jesus is still deeply embedded in the Western story of Christianity,” despite him having lived in the Middle Eastern region.
“As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe,” the story originally read, according to a screen grab from Way Back Machine. “But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin.”
It was changed a week later and it no longer has any mention of Palestine.

"Eric Copage, who is black, wrote, “As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe. But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin.” In the 600-plus words of Copage’s piece, he never acknowledges that Jesus was Jewish, which is obvious from every text of the Bible; instead, neatly aligning his perspective with the New York Times penchant consistently siding with Palestinian Arabs in disputes with Israel, he only resorts to calling Jesus a Palestinian.

"Copage opined, “Now, even though cultures across the world may at times show a Jesus that reflects their own story, a white Jesus is still deeply embedded in the Western story of Christianity. It has become often impossible to separate Jesus and white from the American psyche. … I am also interested in how white Christians feel about images of Christ. How do you feel about the possibility that Christ may not have looked the way he has been portrayed for centuries in the United States and Europe? If you’ve seen Christ depicted as a man of color, what was your reaction?”

"As Noah Pollak succinctly noted on Twitter, “The ‘Palestinians are indigenous to Israel’ lie is more commonly believed than I thought. History lesson for NYT editors: Palestinians are Arabs. Arabs didn't conquer the area until 700 years after Jesus was crucified. Jesus was not an Arab.' ”. . .

. . . "The name Palestine for the area that was home of the Jewish people only came into existence after the Romans exiled the bulk of the Jewish people from Judea in the second century A.D., long after the period in which Jesus lived. Eager to erase the Jewish identity to the land, the Roman emperor Hadrian did something that had heretofore been unheard of for the Romans, who never changed the name of provinces: he named the area “Palestinia” after the Jews’ ancient enemies, the Philistines. The Philistines had been defeated by King David in his memorable defeat of Goliath; they were again defeated by David’s descendant King Hezekiah. They eventually were completely defeated by the Assyrians and had ceased to exist long before the Jews fought with Rome."

ANTI-SEMITISM AT THE NEW YORK TIMES  "The Democratic Party, following in the steps of Britain’s Labour Party, is sinking ever deeper into anti-Semitism. Now it’s the Democrats’ house organ, the New York Times. On April 25, the international edition of the Times published this blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon attacking Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump:"
"The weirdest aspect of the cartoon (although not the most offensive) is the depiction of Trump as a Jew. Wasn’t he was supposed to be a Nazi? I suppose no one expects consistency from liberals, but this seems a little extreme." . . .

. . . "No doubt the people who run the Times view this incident as an anomaly. The tide of anti-Semitism is rising on the Left, but it will have to get worse before outlets like the Times recognize that they have a problem."

Insufferable Suffrage; Sixteen-year-olds absolutely should not vote

There is every reason to want teens, uninterested in voting or unprepared to vote, to perform an important civic duty by staying home rather than imposing their ignorance on the rest of us. And if you argue that many adult voters are similarly infantile and ignorant, I say: You’re right. Let’s not create any more. David Harsayi

National Review  "There’s an insidious movement afoot to lower the voting age to 16. By promising suffrage to the most easily manipulated and emotionally unstable voters in America, Democrats in state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, where Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has endorsed the scheme, are pushing to make the electorate quite literally less mature.

"Americans get their hackles up when you point out that teenagers are probably the most insufferable group in the nation. Well, second-most insufferable. As a group, teens, of course, aren’t immoral or irredeemably broken, like most politicians, just unfinished and slightly unbalanced — awkwardly oscillating between incomprehensible immaturity and unearned confidence, and between impulsiveness and irrational anxiety. Incentivizing elected officials to pander to the fleeting whims and mercurial idealism of people who have been known occasionally to ingest detergent pods is national suicide.

"Sixteen-year-olds have good excuses for their lack of judgment: an underdeveloped prefrontal cortex, a dreadful public-school system, and coddling parents. Those who want to empower kids to chime in on war and peace and marginal tax rates when they still have to ask their parents for permission slips before going on a class trip, however, do not.

" 'Across this nation, young people are leading the way — from gun violence to climate change to the future of work. They are organizing, mobilizing, and calling us to action,” explained Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley after introducing an amendment to lower the voting age in federal elections. “Our young people are at the forefront of some of the most existential crises facing our communities and our society at large.' ” . . .

JUDGE RULES High School Girls MUST Shower With Boys…Girls Have No Right To “Visual Bodily Privacy”

It makes the stakes clear: “If our government is powerful enough to command innocent school children to disrobe in the presence of opposite-sex classmates, then there will be little it will not be powerful enough to do.”
Cartoonist group
100%FedUp  "Boys who claim to be girls are dominating in girls sports. And now, those same girls who are being beaten by boys in their sport are also being forced to shower and undress in the same locker rooms with them. We can thank the Obama administration and progressive Democrats for this nightmare."
"In May 2016, the Obama administration issued a “guidance” to all public schools that they should allow members of one biological sex to use the showers, locker rooms, and restrooms – and stay in the same hotel rooms during field trips – as member of the opposite sex or risk losing federal funding.
"A joint letter from the Departments of Education and Justice stated that students who identify as transgender must be allowed to use the private facilities that match their gender identity with “no medical diagnosis or treatment requirement.”
"Now, girls in a Chicago area school district are paying the price for the open minded decision of progressive politicians pandering for votes from the LGBTQ community.
"According to College Fix, a federal court has permitted a lawsuit to proceed against an Illinois school district that allows high school boys to use girls’ locker rooms, restrooms, and showers in order to accommodate transgender students.
"But girls who don’t want to be seen naked by boys got bad news: The judge ruled that they have no right to “visual bodily privacy” if the government says so." . . .

Joe Biden's movie star looks: you can buy them for yourself, you know?

. . . "Actually, Barama needed a happy medium between some idiot feminist and a communist jackass, somebody who sort of knew his way around Washington but who didn't have a following of his own that would make Obama look even more clueless than he already did.  And there stood Joe, hat in hand . . .*
Poor Joe Biden  . . . "To prepare for his new assignment, old Joe figured he needed to spruce up his appearance.  After all, his principal was already famous for the crease of his pants, and it wouldn't do to look like some hayseed in overalls standing by that smart, clean young feller with steel in his spine.  Off to the dentist, then, for a full set of shiny new choppers.  These would come in handy four years later on teevee against Romney's veep candidate, who cleaned Joe's clock, though nobody today even remembers the guy's name.
"Meanwhile Joe Biden's still hanging around, though he's about run out his string.  But he's been pushing and straining for so long that he just can't give it up.  For the good of the country, he's gonna give it one more go, his third try for the brass ring in, what, the last hundred years?  Delaware, America, and the world watch skeptically as the old war horse polishes his teeth, fixes his hairnet in place, and checks his creases." . . .  * Richard Jack Rail

So now he's "Sloppy Joe"?

Botox, hair plugs, and veneers: Biden could escape the cosmetic surgery scrutiny Hillary Clinton endured  "Cosmetic doctors are certain that former Vice President Joe Biden’s full head of hair, smooth forehead, and Cheshire Cat grin are the result of plastic surgery and other procedures.
"Around the time of the 2008 campaign, alterations in Biden’s appearance became noticeable. His hairline changed, wrinkles disappeared, his smile was brighter. “ 'Without any question Joe Biden had hair transplants,” Dr. Barry Cohen, a plastic surgeon with offices in the Washington suburbs, told the Washington Examiner.

. . . "2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton faced scrutiny for cosmetic surgery during the 2016 campaign, but thus far, there are no signs that Biden, 76, will get the same treatment as he launches his 2020 presidential bid." . . .

Forget Trump, Here Are Five Reasons Why Obama Should Have Been Impeached

PJ Media  "As Democrats privately admit to themselves that there was no Russian collusion, they’ve also shifted gears to focus on the question of obstruction of justice. Despite the Mueller investigation being loaded with anti-Trumpers, even they weren’t able to say that any obstruction occurred. If there’s anything the release of the Mueller report has exposed, it’s not criminal behavior or even impeachable offenses of President Trump, but rather the hypocrisy of Democrats who are willing to call anything an impeachable offense with Trump but pretended the corruption that occurred under Barack Obama was all above board. By any reasonable standard, Congress had multiple impeachable offenses they could have gone after Obama for, but didn’t. Their turning a blind eye to Obama’s corruption completely undermines their efforts today to scandalize Trump and proves that they see two standards of justice: one for Democrats, and one for Republicans. Here are five examples of impeachable offenses that Obama should have been held accountable for, but wasn’t." . . .

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg had once said that a conversation with Barack Obama was "like verbal ping pong" and that the US President was the "most arrogant man" he had ever met, according to a media report.

Uncle Joe said NO Obama Scandals. Maybe just a smidgen?

No scandals? Biden repeats an old Obama whopper  . . . So let's get this straight here: The Benghazi coverup never happened. The IRS targeting of dissidents never happened, either. The Gold River pollution on traditional Native American lands by the EPA never happened. Solyndra never happened. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton never had an illegal private server in some guy's bathroom. She never sold 20% of the U.S. uranium supply to Russia, and her bleachbitting of her subpoenaed emails was perfectly scandal-free, as well as her smashing of Blackberries with hammers. The fact that top-secret emails turned up in Anthony Weiner's perverted computer, for the New York cops to read, was a nothingburger. "And if you like your doctor...
"Actually, the Obama administration was probably the most scandal-plagued of all administrations, and for one important reason: There was never any housecleaning. Do a bad act and let your Democratic Party affiliation be your protection. I have always suspected that former FBI director James Comey's exoneration of Hillary Clinton for her private email legal violations was the big thing that made voters break for Donald Trump in 2016. The one set of laws for one elite, and the second set for everyone else, was what got Obama's team thrown out.
"Now we are coming off more Obama scandals from the Mueller report - with President Obama in possession of Clinton's deleted emails, and questions raised about unmaskings and bad uses of FISA warrants, and Joe Biden brings up the years-old baloney about Obama being scandal free?
"Something tells me this is about trying to reset a 'narrative' now that the walls are closing in on Obama. Sound like old Joe may be singing for his supper, still trying to get that coveted Obama endorsement."
Hans A. von Spakovsky: Process Obama’s ‘Scandal-Free Administration’ Is a Myth . . . "In reality, Mr. Obama has presided over some of the worst scandals of any president in recent decades. Here’s a partial list:" . . .

Biden's Latest Malarkey: Obama Administration Had 'Not One Single Whisper of Scandal' . . . "This kind of crap works on Joy Behar, and now we'll see how the rest of America likes Joe's BS. I worry that they'll like it just fine, and we'll be stuck with this grinning charlatan for at least four years, but I'm also comforted by the knowledge that so far I've been wrong about everything.
"Speaking as somebody who really doesn't like Trump, every single Democrat running for president is even worse. All Americans over 35 could throw their names into a giant hat and then draw one out at random, and we'd come up with a better president." . . .

New York to Ban Hot Dogs Because [of] Climate Change

Under leftist governments, we dread waking up every morning, fearful of what our authorities will do to us next. TD

NYC Considering Banning HOT DOGS And Other Processed Meats Over Climate Change
By EMILY ZANOTTI
April 25, 2019
New York City may be on the verge of outlawing its signature encased meat, the hot dog, alongside other “processed meats,” in a bid to make New Yorkers more climate conscious.
Radio station Z100 reports that Mayor Bill de Blaiso signed into law New York’s own version of the “Green New Deal” last week, and part of the NYC GND involves teaching New Yorkers to make healthy, environmentally friendly food choices by banning specific, “problematic” dishes from city menus.
“The plan,” Z100 says, “will cut purchases of red meat by 50 percent in its city-controlled facilities such as hospitals, schools, and correctional facilities. The new commitment builds off of the Meatless Mondays campaign that was adopted by all NYC schools in 2017.”
New Yorkers will be able to keep their precious hot dog street carts, and tourists will still be able to fill up on dirty water dogs in Times Square — at least for now. The Green New Deal only prohibits city facilities from buying and serving hot dogs and other processed meats in bulk to serve in city-run cafeterias, mostly located in city office buildings, jails, and schools."  …

"What I don’t get, why is processed meat supposed to be less environmentally friendly than unprocessed meat?

"Processed meat normally has non meat fillers, like breadcrumbs or other grains or cereals, and traditionally includes animal parts which might otherwise be discarded. I don’t get how this is somehow supposed to be less eco-friendly than say eating beef steak and throwing the rest of the animal away."

Democrats Court Electoral Disaster With Trump Hearings

Tony Branco
Conrad Black

The Democrats should be changing the subject, and running away from President Trump’s legal issues as fast as they can.

"It is illustrative of how completely invested they were in the hare-brained fraud of Russian collusion, that they are having such a crisis of separation from the subject. They are not the only losers in this fiasco, though they are the biggest losers.
"They are left trying to pretend that they have an invitation to impeach from special counsel Robert Mueller, but that is not correct. In his and his Trump-hating investigative staff’s desperation to attack the president, Mueller engaged in the wholly unprofessional practice of acknowledging that he could not claim there was adequate evidence to prosecute or impeach the president, but could not exonerate him, either. It was up to the House of Representatives to determine if there were grounds to impeach.
"Ahead of last week’s release of the redacted Mueller report, Attorney General William Barr in his summary explained the criteria for a charge of obstruction. Those criteria include evidence of a corrupt act with corrupt intent in contemplation of a legal proceeding. The attorney general, the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, a favorite of congressional Democrats who was supposedly considering recording Trump two years ago to canvass the cabinet to see if he was mentally unfit to be president, and the special counsel all agreed that none of the necessary ingredients for the president to be guilty of obstruction was present." . . .

Has the NBA finally turned off voters? Yep, and the NHL, NFL and, well, pretty much all of Hollywood

Silvio Canto, Jr.  "A few months ago, the Golden State Warriors refused to go to the White House to join President Trump for a championship celebration.  They met with former President Obama instead.
"Yes, it's a free country, but should everything be about politics?  The White House visit goes back years.  It's about honoring a championship team, not about playing politics.

"The NBA has been very politically in your face, to say the least.  Let's look back at some examples:
Carmelo Anthony marched in a Baltimore protest over the death of Freddie Gray in April.
LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose and others wore shirts that said "I can't breathe" to protest the death of Eric Garner in December.
The Los Angeles Clippers turned their shirts inside out to hide the logo to protest racist statements made by owner Donald Sterling in 2014.
The Miami Heat wore hoodies in solidarity with Trayvon Martin in 2012.
And the Phoenix Suns wore "Los Suns" jerseys to protest a controversial Arizona immigration law in 2010.
"I don't know of too many fans who want to get lectured about politics when they drop $100 to go to a game.
"A day ago, I learned that NBA TV ratings are down.  In fact, they've sunk to "new lows."
"To be fair, maybe they play too many playoff games, or people are not watching TV how they used to.
"At the same time, maybe they've turned off a lot of guys like me.  Again, I don't really care what LeBron James thinks, especially when he is not even playing up to his potential."

How the Left is saving me money  . . . "The Left's recent trashing of the American icon and patriot, Kate Smith, is my best recent example."
. . . So, I thought, what else has the Left ruined for me, and in the process saved me money?  Well, I no longer contribute a dime to my college alma mater, and haven't since they invited the buffoon, Chris Matthews, as their commencement speaker.  Second, I attend the movies hardly at all anymore, thanks to Hollywood's antics.  I can't see the character for the repugnant actor or actress.  I also scaled back my cable subscription due to the disgust I have for Comcast and Disney.  I read more and learn more, instead.  Just last week, I chose a much more reasonable store brand sneaker over the odious Nike brand, after it made Kaepernick its spokesperson.  Likewise, I gave up Ben and Jerry's ice cream for store brand and chose AMAC over the costlier AARP as a retirement organization.  I wouldn't give a dime to Progressive Insurance, but in fact, I made a good deal on a less expensive policy from a competitor, with much better service.

3.2% growth is the new normal

Don Surber

" 'The U.S. economy grew at a faster pace than expected in the first quarter and posted its best growth to start a year in four years," CNBC reported.
"That's the result of putting a capitalist in the Oval Office." . . .
. . .
"It took a decade to recover thanks to Obama's inept administration.
"President Trump waved his magic wand. Poof. The Great Recession disappeared as he rolled back taxes and regulations. America is using tariffs to protect its industries again.
Today's report by CNBC said, "Exports rose 3.7% in the first quarter, while imports decreased by 3.7%. Economic growth also got a lift from strong investments in intellectual property products. Those investments expanded by 8.6%."
We are Making America Great Again, or as Sloppy Joe Biden would say, “America’s coming back like we used to be.”

"Like we used to be"?: GDP Growth Slows to 1.9 Percent in Obama's Final Days
. . . "All told, growth under Obama averaged less than 1.5 percent annually. Analysts have called into question just how much a particular president actually impacts the economy during his tenure. But even though the labor market surged under the Obama administration, GDP numbers stubbornly held back."

UPDATE: Ignorant press 'surprised' by 3.2% blowout GDP number
. . . "Charles Payne at Fox News, a seasoned financial journalist, gave the bug-eyed headlines a sidelong glance in this tweet:

OMG Breaking News 1Q 2019 GDP 3.2%Monster number Bloomberg was looking for zero gain and experts dismissed great signs along the way. This is AMAZING!!!! I have to dig into the details. . . .
Once Again, Trump’s Economy Beats the ‘Experts’  "It wasn’t long ago that economists were warning that President Trump’s government shutdown — which extended into late January — would wreak havoc on an already struggling economy, especially in the first quarter of the year.
"So what are these experts saying now that GDP growth accelerated to a startling 3.2% in the first three months of the year?
"Early in the year, anyone following the news was being bombarded with warnings about the economic calamity that the lengthy (partial) government shutdown would cause.

“ 'The government shutdown may have done significantly more damage than was projected at the time,” is how one writer at Seeking Alpha put it." . . .

Weasel Zippers shares some memorable Biden bits that may not please the SJWs

Social justice warriors are going to utterly maul Joe Biden  "Even before launching his 2020 presidential bid, Joe Biden knelt at the altar of identity grievance. He will kneel and kneel some more through the campaign. None of it will be enough, and he is destined to be mauled by the modern left’s grievance-mongers." . . .

How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost

Photo added by TD
The Hill  . . . "Bruce Ohr and Steele worked on their own effort to get dirt on Manafort from a Russian oligarch, Oleg Deripaska, who had a soured business relationship with him. Deripaska was “almost ready to talk” to U.S. government officials regarding the money that “Manafort stole,” Bruce Ohr wrote in notes from his conversations with Steele.

"The efforts eventually led to a September 2016 meeting in which the FBI asked Deripaska if he could help prove Manafort was helping Trump collude with Russia. Deripaska laughed off the notion as preposterous.

" 'Previously, Politico reported that the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington assisted Clinton’s campaign through a DNC contractor. The Ukrainian Embassy acknowledges it got requests for assistance from the DNC staffer to find dirt on Manafort but denies it provided any improper assistance.

"Now we have more concrete evidence that the larger Ukrainian government also was being pressed by the Obama administration to help build the Russia collusion narrative. And that onion is only beginning to be peeled.

" 'But what is already confirmed by Ukrainians looks a lot more like assertive collusion with a foreign power than anything detailed in the Mueller report."
