Official: DHS has not determined any possible ties between Arizona shooter and right wing group

Washington Post  "...the Web has been alive with speculation that the Arizona shooter has some sort of ties to a right-wing group called American Renaissance. The primary source for this claim is a Fox News report from yesterday saying that law enforcement had made this determination based on information provided by the Department of Homeland Security.
"But a DHS official tells me that the department has not established any such possibility, undercutting what appears to be the primary basis for this claim."

Westboro Baptist Church  plans to protest the funeral of the 9-year-old girl slain in the Tucson shooting.

Constitutionalism

Charles Krauthammer  "The most galvanizing example of this expansive shift was, of course, the Democrats' health-care reform, which will revolutionize one-sixth of the economy and impose an individual mandate that levies a fine on anyone who does not enter into a private contract with a health insurance company. Whatever its merits as policy, there is no doubting its seriousness as constitutional precedent: If Congress can impose such a mandate, is there anything that Congress may not impose upon the individual? (Updated; his mug shot) Who is Jared Lee Loughner?

Examiner.com  "But of great curiosity are his self-described favorites--'Mein Kompf' by Adolf Hitler and 'The Communist Manifesto' by Karl Marx. Loughner was reported to have been in the process of reading Marx's Manifesto at the time of the shooting.
"Even more curious are Loughner's 'heroes.' He mentions by name Venezuelan Communist Hugo Chavez, Latin American Communist mass-murderer Che Guevara, American Socialist revolutionary Saul Alinsky, and even Barack Obama."

Call Off the Media Dogs… Loughner Fixated on Giffords Since 2007 Way Before Palin  "Democratic operatives planned to exploit the disaster and blame the tea party and Sarah Palin before the victims were identified."

Libel is No Path to a Civil Society

THE TUCSON TRAGEDY  "This is a script the left has followed before. Tragedy occurs ... and blame is immediately assigned to the right. Do you remember the assassination of John F. Kennedy? In the hours following the shooting in Dallas the blame was placed squarely on conservative groups. Republican Party offices were vandalized across the country. Later we find out that Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist sympathizer. The Times Square Bomber? That was just a few months ago. And just who did New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg blame for that attempt? Tea Partiers. Later, of course, we discover that the bomber was another follower of the peaceful and serene peace-loving religion of Islam.
"The immediate reaction from our ObamaMedia is nothing short of disgusting. Without knowing any motive of the deranged shooter, the media immediately jumped to the convenient conclusion: He must be a right-winger and it is all the fault of Sarah Palin, Fox News, the Tea Party and talk radio. Here are just a few examples gathered from the coverage throughout the weekend ..." Neal Boortz

Heritage  "Unfortunately, some have chosen to use this tragedy for political gain. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, the Democrat who refused to enforce SB 1070, told FOX News‘ Megyn Kelly this weekend that the shooting was caused by an “atmosphere” created when “one party trying to block the attempts of another party to make this country better. ” In case there is any doubt in your mind who Sheriff Dupnik was talking about, one veteran Democratic operative, who, like Sheriff Dupnik, blamed overheated rhetoric for the shooting, told Politico that President Barack Obama should “deftly pin this on the tea partiers.”"  Emphasis added.

Political violence and connections We have removed the excerpt because we have doubts about the Oswald/ ACLU connection. We find no corroborating evidence as yet and there is doubt about the source quoted in this article.

The Left, Not the Right, Owns Political Violence "More recently, we've seen anarchist and communist riots against the WTO in Seattle in 1999, and violent anti-Bush and anti-war protests. In 2007 Leftist playwrights in New York created a stage performance about killing president Bush.
"The politics of the contemporary Left is absolutely intertwined with either tacit or overt support for violence. How dare the left-wing media attempt to pin the actions of a deranged individual in Tucson on the Right! To do so is nothing less than a calumny, a slander, and a blatant hypocrisy."

John Boehner seeks to calm rattled House over Gabrielle Giffords shooting

Politico  "What’s at stake is not only substantive — Boehner is seeking to calm the institution in a time of tragedy — but also political: He needs to make sure the Republican Party, whose conservative wing is under fire for its incendiary campaign rhetoric, stays on message. All this must happen while many are still personally coming to terms with the emotions and shock of an assassination attempt on one of its own, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

The Censorship Of Madmen

Human Events  "The Tea Party movement has done a fantastic job of controlling this anger, and converting its energy to constructive ends. You didn’t see angry mobs at Tea Party rallies, Sarah Palin speeches, or Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” event. They were warm, welcoming, and optimistic, not to mention neat and orderly.
...."The attempts to link resistance to violence, or discredit it through manufactured charges of racism, is nothing less than totalitarian. If the exercise of free speech makes you an accessory to murder, there is no such thing as free speech."  John Hayward  via Lucianne

Clarence Dupnik
Tucson Sheriff Politicizes Press Conference to Blame Talk Radio Despite Refusal to Discuss Shooter’s Motive Video.  Related: Flashback: Outspoken Sheriff Was Critic of AZ Illegal Immigration Law   "A Democrat, Dupnik called the law "a national embarrassment" and wrote in the Wall Street Journal that it was "unnecessary ... a travesty, and most significantly ... unconstitutional."" Quote from the following article:

Clarence Dupnik: The Anti-Joe Arpaio Sheriff in Arizona ""When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous," said Dupnik, referring to the troubled suspect, 22-year-old Jared Loughner."

Two Sicknesses On Display in Arizona

Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion "Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have seen this type of reaction. The meme that opponents of Obama are crazy and dangerous has been an explicit Democratic Party campaign strategy for over two years. Here is just a partial list of events in which the left-wing and Democratic Party media operation has immediately blamed right-wing rhetoric, only to be proven wrong when the facts finally came out: Bill Sparkman, Amy Bishop, The Fort Hood Shooter, The IRS Plane Crasher, The Cabbie Stabbing, and The Pentagon Shooter.
"The facts will come out about the shooting and murder by Loughner. Until then, we'll be subjected to the sickness of people who seek to use the crime to their political advantage and who will worry about the facts later on, if ever."
"In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the deceased and those injured."

New low in exploiting Giffords shooting  "Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse comes news that a Democrat group has used the shooting of Rep. Giffords, judge Roll, and others as a fundraising device. Warner Todd Huston reports on Big Government:"... Thomas Lifson, American Thinker

Leftists: Have You No Sense of Decency Left?

American Thinker "I have heard terms like "ignorant" and "hateful" to describe people who have not the slightest to do with this unspeakable crime and have done nothing wrong but have simply spoken out and acted peacefully in support of Individual Rights, Freedom, and Liberty.
"What is "ignorant" and "hateful" is to spread unfounded rebuking and draw negative inferences about people you know not an iota about and who have not a thing to do with this senseless crime - as we have been inundated with these slanderous accusations all day long......"

If someone at Kos, in particular, does not like you, stories will appear there urging Kos readers to teach you a lesson in physical ways, to get you to either shut up or toe whatever line the Left is insisting on that day.
We also reject this line of reasoning, but want you to be aware of how those on the left are guilty of the demagoguery they attribute to conservatives. See below:

Violence and politics merge in Arizona

Politico  "The references to the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995 echoed in other ways. That horror, which killed 168 people including many children, helped then-President Bill Clinton stigmatize extreme anti-government rhetoric and re-energize his presidency at a time when Newt Gingrich and conservative Republicans were riding high in Congress.
"One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did."
"“They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.” "

Howard Kurtz Denounces Media for Blaming Giffords Shooting on Palin  "Actually, the hypocrisy on display during Olbermann's two-hour special Saturday evening was even grander than Kurtz shared with his readers for the "Countdown" host - and Kurtz as it turns out - ignored how Markos Moulitsas of the far-left website Daily Kos targeted and put a bull's eye on Giffords for being a Blue Dog Democrat back in June 2008."

The Incitement Double Standard  "It is curious that many of the same media forums, such as the New York Times, that have repeatedly refused even to report, let alone editorialize, about the links between Islamist beliefs and terror are openly seeking to blame the Arizona attack on the Tea Party or anyone else who has had the temerity to question the president, publishing stories that seek to shift the public’s attention from the murderer to Tea Party activists and Republicans, who have nothing to do with this crime. But so deeply ingrained is liberal bias within our mainstream media that no one there seems to understand that there is a double standard at play here."

Left Shamelessly Seeks to Exploit Arizona Tragedy  "Despite all this, Packer and the NJDC are determined to use the tragedy in Arizona to resurrect this failed effort to besmirch conservatives and other Obama critics as violent haters. There is, after all, a precedent for this sort of thing. In 1995, President Clinton used the Oklahoma City bombing to strike back at his critics, including radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, even though Limbaugh and others critical of Clinton had nothing to do with the lunatics who perpetrated that crime.
"Calls for civil debate are always appropriate, but those who wish to use this terrible crime to attempt to silence their opponents or to stifle legitimate public debate or activism are the ones who are crossing the bounds of decency today."

The Horror of the Day Jonah Goldberg has little to say at this time; we felt the comments section would be of interest to you for its remarks across the political spectrum.

LOUGHNER - THE LOW I.Q. LEFTIST POT HEAD - CALLED GIFFORDS "STUPID"

The Freedom Fighter's Journal   "Jared Loughner, the man accused of shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in the head Saturday in Tucson, Arizona, allegedly referred to the Congresswoman as “stupid,” says one former classmate.
"According to the Phoenix Times News, Caitie Parker has written a series of posts on Twitter describing Loughner as a “pot head.” She also described him as a “left wing” substance abuser with “political radical” ideas. "
