Alan Caruba: America's Communist President

Obama may seem like this,
Warning Signs  "Most threatening, however, was Dr. Kengor’s discovery that “it was nothing short of stunning to research this book during the presidential bid of Barack Obama and hear so many of the names in my research surface repeatedly in the background of the man who became president of the United States of America. The way in which so many names and themes from the Cold War past aligned and made their way into Obama’s orbit was chilling.”

but he's really this.

"Obama’s December 8th speech in Osawatomie, Kansas revealed to anyone paying any attention that the President is a Communist. Speaking of the nation’s economic system that has created the greatest wealth for the most people anywhere, Capitalism, Obama said, “It doesn’t work. It has never worked.” "
....
Communism did not die with the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is alive and well in Russia, China, Cuba, Vietnam and in Venezuela. The soft form, Socialism, has brought a number of European nations to ruin and threatens the U.S.
"In 2010 Americans returned power in the House of Representatives to the Republican Party. We must finish the job in the Senate and in the White House in 2012. If we do not, the America we love will perish."

Obama, the shameless class warrior (updated)

Charles Krauthammer: Obama’s campaign for class resentment (reprise)"This is populism so crude that it channels not Teddy Roosevelt so much as Hugo Chavez. But with high unemployment, economic stagnation and unprecedented deficits, what else can Obama say?
"He can’t run on stewardship. He can’t run on policy. His signature initiatives — the stimulus, Obamacare and the failed cap-and-trade — will go unmentioned in his campaign ads. Indeed, they will be the stuff of Republican ads.
"What’s left? Class resentment. Got a better idea?"

powerwall.msnbc.msn.com/

Michael Barone calls out Obama   "A heavyweight writes bluntly about the shameful speech President Obama gave in Osawatomie, Kansas (see also: Obama's Kansas Declaration).
"Among the most respected of political pundits, Michael Barone occupies a special niche. As the co-author of the Almanac of American Politics, he is conceded to be one of the most knowledgeable and even handed of political writers. He writes a takedown of the unscrupulous rhetoric of the president in The Examiner
Democrats like to think of themselves as the party of smart people. And over the last four years we have heard countless encomiums, and not just from Democrats, of the intellect and perceptiveness of Barack Obama. But a reading of the text of Obama’s December 6 speech at Osawatomie, Kansas, billed as one of his big speeches of the year, shows him to be something like the opposite.                                                     Even by the standards of campaign rhetoric, this is a shockingly shoddy piece of work.....
Those who pride themselves on belonging to the party of smart people should be embarrassed.

Just as ridicule of his sexual issues didn't bother Bill Clinton, neither do columns about Obama's disastrous presidency seem to concern him. Liberals are obtuse. TD

Powerline: Obama’s Osawatomie decree  "The speech is important from a variety of perspectives. Perhaps most significantly, the speech previewed Obama’s reelection campaign themes; insert groans here. To some extent it shows Obama hitching his wagon to the Occupy crowd and provides another case of his leading from behind. It sinks to the level of left-wing tripe. Obama’s heart and mind are full to overflowing with this stuff."
powerwall.msnbc.msn.com/
Update:  What’s the Matter with Obama’s Kansas Speech?  Nothing fair about it.
"Obama takes the easy way out by pretending that the issues have a simplicity and the answers a clarity that they lack, and that he is telling self-evident truths. But what he’s really doing is pandering to a schoolyard mentality of envy that says, “It’s not fair if other people have more stuff than I do; they must be cheating and they should pay me back” — and that government’s just the one to do it."

Update: The president sounds more like a Corleone than a Roosevelt.  By Daniel Henninger, WSJ"In fact, the Osawatomie speech was not given by the President of the United States. It was given by the leader of the Democratic Party. "
....
There is that defining moment when Michael Corleone says to Fredo, his brother, "You're nothing to me now." When even as party leader, a president of the United States gives a major speech in which people get singled out repeatedly as basically enemies of "the middle class," one has to wonder if they are nothing to him."
....
"What the Democratic base would get out of an Obama re-election is political power, which counts for something. It lets you tell other people what to do. But nothing in that Kansas speech, especially the wealth taxes, will produce real growth in the dry economy America has had for three years. Strong growth is the only solution to the Osawatomie catalog of horrors. If he wins, five years from now, the president's base will be about where it and nearly everyone else is today, trying to stay afloat in Barack Obama's still waters."

What to Watch for in Tonight's Debate

Political Wire  "David Chalian: "First and foremost, I expect to see an inherent tension within Gingrich on stage. He has had such great success trying to stay above the fray and has made his pledge to promise only positive campaigning. It seems to me that will be in direct conflict with being the frontrunner and the likely target of nearly everyone else on that stage."
"The Fix: "Gingrich's tried and true debate strategy -- ignore the question asked, attack the questioner etc. -- may not play as well (or at all) when he is viewed through the frontrunner lens."
"Jon Karl: "Gingrich expects that in this debate and the ones to follow he will, for the first time, be the piƱata, bearing the brunt of the attacks from the other candidates. How will he respond? Gingrich has told his aides he will resist the temptation to counter-attack." "

ABC hosts GOP debate, but hires only Dem lobbyists "The Obama administration, the Clinton administration, then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, then-Sen. Tom Daschle, the Congressional Black Caucus, congressman John Dingell, then-Congressmen Byron Dorgan, Sen. John Kerry, and Sen. Ed Muskie.
"Two things they have in common:"
1) They're all Democrats.
2) Their former staffers are all lobbyists for Disney, the parent company of ABC News, hosting tonight's Republican debate.

USA Today: Five things to watch in tonight's GOP debate

Have yourself a very PC Christmas

Christmas tree controversy takes root in RI  ""Political correctness has gone too far," said Costa, of North Kingstown. "I don't care what he calls it. Anyone who looks at it knows it's a Christmas tree. That's just what it is.""
niagarawatch ; All signs exactly equal in size and structure. What a country!
Have yourself a politically correct Christmas   "People want to complain and victimize themselves over everything, and now they've extended it to the holidays. It is like the watching the Grinch steal Christmas and never give it back. I remember going to elementary school, where celebrating Christmas was a staple to every school year. If you go to a school now, there is not a trace of Christmas, or any holiday for that matter, covering the school walls."

We wish you a PC Christmas  "Yep, political correctness has wheedled its way into the celebration of Christmas-excuse me, non-sectarian gift-buying winter solstice. "

"Paul writes in Philippians 2:"
Christ Jesus . . . being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself  and became obedient to death—
     even death on a cross!
That is the Forbidden Christmas story

The House Republicans pass bill ensuring that the EPA cannot regulate so-called "farm dust."

The Hill  Who called this a do-nothing Congress?
""Despite Administrator Jackson's statement, there is nothing currently on the books preventing the EPA from adopting a stricter regulation," Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.) said. "This legislation provides iron-clad certainty to farmers, ranchers, small business owners that farm dust would stay off the EPA's to-do list for at least another year." "
....Of course:
"House passage sends the bill to a Senate that is unlikely to take it up at all. The Obama administration has already said it would veto the bill."

Democrats ridicule this act, as one might expect. But the history of this subject indicates Republicans are aware of what liberals are capable of:
Aug 01, 2010  EPA to Crack Down on Farm Dust
"The letter dated July 23 to the EPA states, "If approved, would establish the most stringent and unparalleled regulation of dust in our nation's history." It further states, "We respect efforts for a clean and healthy environment, but not at the expense of common sense. These identified levels will be extremely burdensome for farmers and livestock producers to attain. Whether its livestock kicking up dust, soybeans being combined on a dry day in the fall, or driving a car down the gravel road, dust is a naturally occurring event.""
Read the letter to EPA signed by 21 senators including Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn

Youtube video which I cannot imbed because of problems installing the proper doomajiggy to play it:   Over Regulation All Across the Nation Blues . Comment at this link:
Can you believe the Environmental Protection Agency wants to regulate farm dust? No joke! We are talking about dust kicked up from cattle or dust stirred up by a rancher's pickup truck. U.S. Representative Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) introduced, with bipartisan support, the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act
Rep. Manzullo Votes to Protect Farmers from Overreaching EPA Regulation on Farm Dust" Manzullo, who raised beef cattle on his small farm in Egan, Illinois for 30 years, said the EPA initial proposal on farm dust would have devastated the farmers he represents in northern Illinois . Because the EPA keeps changing its mind on the issue, legislation is needed to once and for all prohibit it, Manzullo said."

EPA Considers Regulating Farm Dust  Sep 16, 2011, "Illinois Soybean Association Director Duane Dahlman on farmers’ efforts to block a proposed EPA regulation that would regulate dust on farms."

August 7, 2010  Latest EPA Absurdity: Dust May Be Air Pollution   "But particulate matter can also come from natural sources — including dust — leading some to fear the EPA could establish guidelines that would consider livestock kicking up dust or a car driving down a gravel road as creators of air pollution."
After all this background, how dare the Democrats ridicule the Republican House?

Victor Davis Hanson: The President Who Never Was/ A Teen-age President in Search of an Adult Identity

Victor Davis Hanson   "Barack Obama keeps looking for a presidential identity not his own. In 2008, he wished to be JFK — whom he often referenced as a youthful and charismatic figure supposedly similar to himself. ...And at the Brandenburg Gate, Obama would have liked to electrify Europeans with another Ich Bin Ein Berliner speech. But even the left-leaning Germans sorta balked at that, and relegated the new Galahad to the Victory Column — a nice enough gesture that earned them a snub when a later President Obama chose not to go to Berlin for the commemoration of the twenty year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall."....
"The next year will be nothing but more teenage petulance. The world has disappointed Barack Obama. Like any adolescent, he will keep reinventing himself, endlessly trying on new presidential masks and blasting “them” who were not so charmed. What else can a man without an identity do, a president who never really was."

Urban legend; Wapo Anti-Obama article: "Obama: The Affirmative Action President"

TW received an email on the subject,"Obama: The Affirmative Action President" today. As usual, I like to check these things for accuracy and hopefully keep from posting the false rumors. Mr Obama has plenty of reasons for being unqualified to be president without us posting untrue articles. Those hurt us much more than they do the left, so be sure to check any anti-Obama stories. Below is what I have found in a search so far. These sites would be a good beginning: Snopes, TruthorFiction or FactCheck (however we cannot vouch for the biases of these sites).

From the left-wing blog SmokingPolitics: "Today, I was forwarded an email with the headline
"Amazing that the Wash. Post would actually print this. Amazing!" "
The Washington Post  August 18, 2011 Obama: The Affirmative Action President by Matt Patterson (columnist – Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)
"....Well, google Matt Patterson Online and here is his site. Seriously, go see it.  And here is his contribution as a ‘columnist’ to The Washington Post. A single online letter to the editor from 2009."

Also this site refutes the Obama article: Reader Meter: The Hermanator and ‘The Post’s’ Matt Patterson states:
The other is a parcel of e-mails wondering if someone named Matt Patterson works at The Washington Post, and asking if he wrote an anti-Obama satirical screed for The Post that is making the rounds of the Internet. The answer is, no, he doesn’t and he didn’t. This is not the first time I’ve received a round of e-mails about some anti-Obama rant allegedly written by someone from The Post....The mysterious Matt Patterson might be the Matt Patterson who contributes to the Examiner newspaper here in D.C. and who works for the conservative Capital Research Center. His work has appeared in The Post, but not this work.
However this refutation is in contrast to these links from American Thinker:  Obama: The Affirmative Action President by Matt Patterson

Osawatomie, Kansas: Whitewashing History, Obama Style

Heritage  "But in President Obama’s mind, it is others who offer ideas that don’t work, not him. He points to “a certain crowd in Washington” that argues for tax cuts and reduced regulations, calling it “a simple theory” that “fits well on a bumper sticker” but “has never worked.”
"Correction, Mr. President. It has worked–time and time again throughout history. The trouble is, Mr. Obama has never tried it, and the Keynesian economic policies he enacted fell flat on their face, just as they have throughout history." ....
"Yet despite these numbers — and the fact that President Obama had near-free rein to enact the Keynesian economic policies he saw fit — the President is now demagogues the one economic policy he hasn’t tried — supply-side economics — while calling for more government spending all as America’s debt is deepening. He would do better to study history and get a grasp of how cutting taxes and freeing the market has worked when employed by both Democrats and Republicans."

Charles Krauthammer: Obama’s campaign for class resentment   "In Kansas, Obama lamented that millions “are now forced to take their children to food banks.” You have to admire the audacity. That’s the kind of damning observation the opposition brings up when you’ve been in office three years. Yet Obama summoned it to make the case for his reelection!
"Why? Because, you see, he bears no responsibility for the current economic distress. It’s the rich. And, like Horatius at the bridge, Obama stands with the American masses against the soulless plutocrats.
"This is populism so crude that it channels not Teddy Roosevelt so much as Hugo Chavez. "....
"He can’t run on stewardship. He can’t run on policy. His signature initiatives — the stimulus, Obamacare and the failed cap-and-trade — will go unmentioned in his campaign ads. Indeed, they will be the stuff of Republican ads."

But the ignorant masses and their unwashed protesters will buy the whole thing  Don't believe me?
Remember the utter crassness of the Clinton's housing their contributors* in the Lincoln Bedroom?  Bill said they were forced to do that by the insane campaign financing procedures and they would change all that. The Clinton's then cast themselves as the promoters of campaign reform and the press along with their followers bought it!
*"Two of the Lincoln Bedroom's renters -- Linda Thomason and actress Markie Post -- are pictured here trashing the bed by treating it like a trampoline. The bed itself is considered a national treasure. Expect more of the same should Hillary take the presidency." But I digress.

Move it along there, softies!

Blacks file Class Action Racial Discrimination Suit Against Obama & Democrats

Red County (I hate that color for Republicans. It should have been the Democrat color!)
From September 20th, 2011 via National Black Republican Association .
"The plaintiffs, who refer to the defendants as "Father of Racism," allege that as an organization, the Democratic Party has consistently refused to apologize for the role they played  in slavery and Jim Crow laws and for other subsequent racist practices from 1792 to 2011. Rev. Wayne Perryman, a former Democrat himself and the lead plaintiff in this class action lawsuit, said he was inspired to file this action after seeing the recent movie The Help. The movie takes place in the region that was exclusively controlled by Democrats for more than 150 years (the South)."
What the Dixiecrats  called "separate but equal"
Excerpt from a comment to this article by Anonymous:
Now that rev(sic) Al Sharpton is to busy making millions working for MSNBC someone needs to step up and keep racism alive and these are just the folks for the job.

Frankly I think anyone that is willing to rehash all this b***s*** should be ashamed of themselves for belittling all the progress made by so many Black AND White people in the direction of equal rights. My middle name (Buriah) comes from a well decorated soldier from the Kingsley side of our family who fought in the Union army to help bring about the emancipation proclamation. S**t I think I should get an apology for them making it seem his fight was in vein(sp).
I think we can be sure that all those society ladies portrayed in "The Help" were registered Democrats.

The Republican Jewish Coalition Presidential Candidates Forum Winner Is….

PJ Media  "The high point of Romney’s speech was when he said as president he would make Israel his first foreign trip. This is in contrast to President Obama who has not visited Israel as president.
"Organizationally, just for the record, a minute before Romney had finished his speech I received an email of the speech as a press release. His is a campaign organization that is ready to roll and face the “Campaigner in Chief.”   (However...)
"Not wanting to rely just on my own instincts, I asked several other attendees who they thought had been the “winner” and all agreed it was Romney because he looked and acted the most presidential.
"The Republican Jewish Presidential Candidates Forum ended with the battle cry, “Remember in November! — and the Jewish community will play a historic role.”
"Let’s hope great change will occur within the American Jewish community at large in 2012 to nip away at that 78% of the vote that Obama won from them in 2008."

Christie to Obama: 'Get Out of Your Chair'  "Governor Chris Christie gave a compelling critique of President Obama yesterday at the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting:"
“This is a quote from the President of the United States. ‘But we need to meet the moment. We need to up our game’.”
-------
“Mr. President. We need a leader who will lead us to the moment…who will help define what the challenges of meeting the moment means… and then not to be cautious and safe and sit back and wait for someone else to do the hard work, but to get out of your chair and start doing the hard work yourself to make America a greater place.” Video
Alan Caruba: "What Were They Thinking?"  "The question—the fear—on the minds of most Republicans these days is whether the Party intends to commit political suicide by choosing the wrong candidate to run against Obama and to add to their present agony, it has a litter of candidates who run the gamut from charisma-challenged to scarily brilliant.
"Let’s review the choices."...

Obama Foreign Policy in A Brief: The President as (a) Turkey

Yid With Lid   "On October 5, 1938, Winston Churchill said in the House of Commons, regarding the Munich agreement in which Britain and France forced Czechoslovakia to cede the strategic Sudetenland to Germany, leading a few months later to that country’s extinction and a year later to World War Two:

“I will begin by saying what everybody would like to ignore or forget but which must nevertheless be stated, namely, that we have sustained a total and unmitigated defeat….”
Viscountess Astor ( perhaps the equivalent of Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich) shouted, “Nonsense!”

"People ask me: How can U.S. government officials believe such silly and wrong things about the Middle East? Let’s go behind the scenes for a case study of how this works." ....
"Yes, that’s it. Turkey’s Islamist regime, not the United States, is taking leadership and setting the example. It’s leading in an anti-American direction and setting a bad example. American interests are being trashed; American allies are in despair.
"Now multiply this example by a few hundred times and you have Obama foreign policy."  Barry Rubin.
